Look Inside Detroit’s New Cocktail Bar Bagley Central | Eater Detroit

"Fans of the shuttered Huron Room will recognize that its booths and bar stools were refurbished and moved into the new bar, providing familiar seating that was incorporated into Bagley Central's design." - Brenna Houck

As an International student at Huron, I have to say, it has been an incredible experience. It was really tough moving away from my family to a new country where I knew no one. But Huron supported me so well through my transition. The small class sizes helped me connect with my professors and get the extra help I needed. The university and student council are constantly organizing events, making campus a lively and entertaining place to be. And the best part: I will always find someone I know in the Beaver Dam or in the Library or just walking between classes.

Huron is a fantastic school for any student who is seeking a more intentional academic experience. Small class sizes with professors and faculty who prioritize the well-being and learning of their students results in growth personally, professionally, and intellectually. Huron is a truly unique place.

Overall this is probably one of the best places one can choose to study. It has a nice campus, good quality administration, and good professors. There is potential for scholarships and the bursaries can be very generous when needed. There is great prospect for employment within the school or externally via exclusive internships. There is nothing more one could ask for honestly, I've just finished my 4th year and have nothing but good things to say about this school.

Cool place! Unique character and a piece of heritage within the western campus.

I attend classes in both Western and Huron and I would say the only thing keeping me at Western is my program otherwise Huron is much better, class sizes are smaller and the quality of professors is better. What's better is that unlike Western, Huron actually offers courses in non-western thought and theology.

As Professor Julie Ponesse's students from her philosophy 2074 class, I feel sad that she left. She taught us critical thinking rather than being influenced by media. We need to consider whether the university's decision can save students' life. (This is similar to philosopher Philippa Foot's Trolley problem.) Also, the university's decision doesn't affect its quality of education. Therefore, we can not judge whether we should choose this university simply because of the firing of its professor. In fact, the university makes this decision because it wants to protect it students, faculty member, and staff. I have some friends who died due to COVID-19 (one of them is a Huron student), and so far, getting vaccinated is the most effective way to protect us.

Overall, Huron is a great university based on its history and attraction. According to OUAC, the average entering grade of high school graduates was 89% in 2020, one of the Canadian universities' highest admission requirements. It offers a lot of support to its students, and I genuinely recommend students apply to this school.

This is not an Ethic Institution, what to learn there? Coertion? Better to study in any other place, whats follow? You can't study there if you are no vaccinated? What about Nuremberg laws? If it experimental we must decide if we want to participate. Don't looks like a good place.
