I really like the brisket break fast tacos! The brisket was succulent and flavorful. The eggs were fluffy. Tortillas were warm and fresh. A great combination if you ask me. The place had a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I most definitely will be back.

Google
Great food! The sauce really has a nice kick to it! Very busy at lunch but well worth it fast service, friendly folks, cozy small atmosphere. Just what a Texas barbecue joint should feel like in my opinion ! If you’ve never been, you should definitely check it out

Google
We visited on a Friday night around 7pm. There were a few people in line, but we didn't wait long. We ordered the El jefe platter with brisket beans and hatch chili Mac and cheese, and a banana pudding tres leches. Our food did not take long at all and gosh, it was good! The brisket was moist and flavorful. The pulled pork was absolutely delicious. The ribs were tender and well seasoned. I REALLY loved the brisket beans. So good! The banana pudding was unique and delicious. Definitely one of the best BBQ places around! Seating inside is limited, but patio area was also available with about 10 tables. The volume in the indoor dining room was loud with laughter and voices.

Google
I FINALLY got to try this place!! The parking lot is so small, it's nearly impossible to visit during busier hours, but I finally managed to get in. The wait was well worth it. I got an assorted tray, plus some Texas twinkies and birria tacos. Everything was excellent, some of the best barbecue I've ever had. The street corn and hatch mac n cheese made awesome sides as well. Do yourself a favor and try to find a way to squeeze in if you haven't yet.

Google
First time trying this place out, and I will definitely be coming back. The brisket was very good, not dry at all. The mac and cheese was my favorite, it has a nice smoky flavor. Parking is kinda small, but I had no issues since there were not many people in. I was just bothered a bit by a small fly that I had to keep away from my food. Overall, the store was clean, but it can improve.

Gilberto Estrada

Google
Definitely worth the try! I come here for the brisket tostadas and the cornbread but everything else looks amazing. I’ve seen other people get the brisket plates and I can’t wait to give it a try one of these days but honestly I get plenty with the appetizers, again I recommend the tostada, the brisket taco and the Texas Twinkie. The service is pretty good and can get busy at peak hours but worth the wait. My only observation would be parking since the front is very limited but you can easily go around or behind the restaurant and you’re all set. I totally recommend this place since I have made it one of my regulars.

Google
We had been to the Hurtado in Arlington years ago and were excited to visit again. This place has gone so down hill, we will NEVER return. Also, might want to have a decent bathroom. So nasty. Second the brisket was rubber and dry. The Mac n cheese was cold. The tacos were mostly cheese. Don't get started on the nasty elote. The water/soda tastes gross. I thought we were going to enjoy and it would be a treat to visit again. This place is nasty!

Google
I’ve been to Hurtado in Arlington and it was ok nothing great. But the location in Fort Worth is much better. I had a fantastic lunch with brisket, pepper sausage, and a Texas Twinkie. My first time having a Texas Twinkie so I don’t have anything to compare it to however this place did it right! Great flavor! Clean facility and friendly staff. Outside screened in covered seating is available. Not sure if the air conditioning is broken or they don’t have. The staff had a portable unit running that gave some relief. I sat outside as this was a little cooler.

Yelp
The staff were overly friendly, plenty of space to eat, outdoor area included! Food was off the charts! Got the El Jefe. El Jefe has 1/3 lb each of brisket, pulled pork, spare ribs, turkey, burnt ends & sausage.

Yelp
This was the first spot I stopped at to to try bbq! I'm glad it was this that i chose! The service was welcoming! They answered all questions and gave us the recommendations! The food was great and it was a great first time!

Yelp
The barbecue was very good. The side were all okay. Inside the restaurant was hot and there were lots of flies all over. The parking was also limited. Service was also okay. Servers were friendly but the place was not as clean as I was expecting.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place more than I did. I came in and I ordered the Texas Trinity, which came with the 1/3 pound of brisket, 1/3 pound of pork ribs, and a 1/3 pound of sausage. As well as side of your choice. I chose to get the bacon potato salad, which really wasn't good. I'm used to my potato salad having cubed potatoes but for some reason at this location, it was mashed and there's just something about cold mashed potato salad that is just offputting and it just was not seasoned appropriately either so that really was a bummer. Of the meats, my favorite was the pork ribs. Otherwise I really wasn't too impressed even my sweet tea just honestly wasn't even sweet. The customer service is good howand This place has really good reviews so I was looking forward to it. However, I just really wasn't impressed in probably would opt for just getting the ribs With a different side next time if I come back.

Yelp
The food was absolutely AMAZING!!! I really loved the brisket, no need for knives here!! The burnt ends were to die for! We ordered the El Jefe and it was sooooo much food. If you're looking for great BBQ this place will definitely not disappoint!! The service was great, very friendly and sweet. The environment was very laid back and relaxing

Emily P.

Yelp
Ordered take out, was amazing!!! Everything came hot and fresh. Sides are small portions, do wish they were bigger. But over all this barbecue is one of the best in ft worth.

Yelp
Craving some barbecue I decided to go to this location near my home. I've been to the location in Dallas by the farmers market, which is their newest location and that restaurant was lovely. This one in Fort Worth is much older, but their customer service was great. I would say, though I did not love their mac & cheese, it was a bit watery. Their potato salad was very tasty the texture was different though. The meats were exceptional especially the jalapeño cheese sausage and brisket. We also had birria tacos, which was something that I didn't know that they had and was pretty good. Lastly the TX Twinkie it was soooo delicious, worth every penny.

Yelp
This might sound like a backhanded compliment; however, when you go to a restaurant and the sides are stellar that generally means your meal is going to be good. That is how things started at Hurtado BBQ. Before we talk meats let me say that the green beans with chorizo and their street corn were stunning sides. The chorizo they use is actually small chunks of sausage not the ground meat insides which made for a nice texture and the flavor was outstanding. The chorizo was complementary not overpowering. The street corn had a nice balance of cilantro, red pepper and cotija cheese. Very tasty! The meats? We had a three meat platter with burnt ends, brisket and ribs. The burnt ends were fatty and well seasoned. The brisket was tender enough to cut with a fork, while the rub on the ribs was nicely carmelized. This was a platter of comfort food and a palate of BBQ three ways. Be advised they do not serve alcohol so you need to bring your own if that is important to you. Hurtado is a no frills, rustic eatery so come as you are. We will be back!

Yelp
Hurtado BBQ has some pretty good BBQ. There's so much good BBQ in the DFW area that it's hard to breakout, but this place is one of the better ones. I went with a chopped brisket sandwich and hatch mac & cheese in the side. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, although I wish the BBQ sauce on the table had been better (or at least more than one option). The Mac & cheese was standard fare for this kind of place--not bad, but nothing fancy either. If you're nearby and looking for tasty meats, give this place a try!

Yelp
Finally tried hurtado bbq after having it on my list for months. Very simple establishment with parking in the front and back of the restaurant. They have stool seating and a covered patio seating as well. They have various menu options from 1/2 pound+ of meat to entrees with sides. I got the Texas trifecta with macaroni. The brisket was delicious and had a nice flavor the sausage was the best thing on the plate and the spare ribs weren't bad with a little bbq sauce. The Mac n cheese was bland though and let a lot to be desired. I also got the Texas Twinkie to go and damn that is delicious highly recommend. It's a mix of brisket and bacon stuffed in a. Sausage. The wait time was minimal and if dining in they bring it right to you.

Yelp
I visit this location a lot, probably twice a month. The food is always consistently good. This location serves breakfast everyday until 11am. The breakfast is fantastic with large portions. Staff is really friendly. It's a small building that doesn't offer a lot of seating inside, but they also have a nice covered patio. I highly recommend for breakfast or any other meal time. It does tend to get busy around noon and some items sell out on the weekends.

Yelp
We just stopped by for Breakfast at 10:55 am and looked at the menu for a few minutes. We stepped up to order and was told at 11:03am they stopped serving breakfast. If you see a customer looking at the breakfast menu and you still have the breakfast sign lite up, why not serve us? Instead was told sorry we stopped serving breakfast at 11am. What we were in the restaurant looking at the menu before 11am??? Never going back or recommending this place.

Yelp
The interior was basic and set up efficiently. The service wasn't anything special but that doesn't matter. You don't get bbq even slightly considering all that. You're there for the slow cooked brisket, ribs and more. It's not the best in the state but yeen know that it's consistent and scratches the itch of TX bbq. I got the Trinity, brisket rib and sausage. It was all good and came with a side of their Mexican street corn. I had it to go cause I am an idiot who got food and drove home 40 mins in traffic to share it. Still good even Luke warm. Only 27ish dollars to feed two people bbq which is less than my gym membership and the reason you can tell I eat bbq often. They have different locations but I've only ever tried this one. The hours are way friendlier than Goldie's btw.

Yelp
Stopped in after hearing lots of reviews of this place and finally had the opportunity. As soon as I walked in, I was quickly greeted by the cashier who was helpful and friendly. I'm pretty simple when it comes to bbq so a sandwich, side, and drink was a given. However, the Texas Twinkie caught my eye so I had to def try one too. I was torn on sides...I'm not big on potato salad but on this day, it was calling my name but so did the elote. I asked the cashier and she said hands down, elote. So it was settled. I beat the lunch rush by about 15 mins which was great. Sat down at a table - loved that there was bar area to sit for those dining alone. Received my order in about 10 mins - looked delicious and boy did the Texas Twinkie and elote look super appealing. Chopped beef sandwich was good, a good Smokey flavor with plenty of meat. I'm a fan of warm bbq sauce and was a little sad there were just bottles on the table. Texas Twinkie was the highlight! Delicious. Crispy outside, creamy and gooey on the inside and bursting with flavor. I wanted more but only bought one...shame on me. Now for the elote, I was a bit disappointed. Presentation was wonderful but there was something different in the flavor. I'm thinking it was the cheese - it didn't seem to dissolve and felt powdery instead of Parmesan cheese that normally dissolves in elote. Again, not bad, just different and not for me. All in all a great lunch.

Yelp
Hurtado has been on my "to try" list for awhile. Husband and I came for lunch. Small place and a tight squeeze into the parking lot. We got the Texas Trinity. Came with 1 slice of brisket, 1 sausage, and 1 rib for $27 plus a side which was Mac and cheese. I liked how they had different sides than the usual bbq sides. We shared and it was enough. Worth $27 for what you get. It was the best bbq I've had in awhile. The brisket had good flavor and was tender. The rib meat was also tender. The sausage was yum! The Mac and cheese was decent. I'd definitely come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by Hurtado Barbecue for a quick lunch and had the brisket sandwich. The brisket was good, and I really enjoyed the barbecue sauce they had on the table. For a side, I went with the mac and cheese, which was excellent. It had green chilis mixed in, adding a nice kick. The atmosphere is casual, making it a good spot for lunch or an early dinner. They also offer outdoor dining, which is a nice option when the weather's nice. Service was friendly, rounding out a solid experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for some good barbecue for lunch.
google avatar

Monique L.

Yelp
Service was great. You order, take a seat with your number, and they will bring the food out to you. I enjoyed their ribs, sausage, mac, and potato salad. The beef brisket was a bit dry imo. The barbacoa tacos were dry for me too. A lot meat which was nice but I felt like it needed so sauce/salsa on top.
google avatar

Gary B.

Yelp
Ribs. If you are swing my review and know I'm going to Hurtados please do not order the ribs (that way there are more for me to eat. On a serious note, the ribs are in my opinion the best thing here. My wife disagrees, she is a fan of the brisket. Service is fast, cafeteria style. Pick what you want and they plate it. I'd like to say the sides are just as good as the proteins but I've never saved enough room to try them. They certainly look good but my $ is going for the ribs.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Barbecue that requires NO sauce! Yes, it exists at Hurtado Barbecue. Brisket, chicken, ribs, burgers, sausage - so ALL the proteins cue'd! Nom nom. Sides are plentiful also - mac+cheese, corn, rice, slaw, beans. Special shout-out for the brisket topped baked potato (perfectly baked tater, soft inside with an almost crispy skin). Fountain drinks and tea are beverage options. Parking is a bit of a bear, but it's worth the parking hunt. Decor is wood+metals... very Texas cue. Service is awesome - you lineup to order from the cashier, take your numbered card to at table, and order is delivered to you. Grab your own plastic utensils & napkins by the fountain drink machine. Enjoy!

Yelp
Food was good will definitely be back for the the beef ribs service is great per usual the bbq smoked and tasted great

Yelp
I love this place. I always try to make it in time for the breakfast menu that ends at 11. The service is nice and there is inside and outside seating available. The rancher taco, Benedict, and the breakfast platters are all so delicious. The brisket has a good bark and flavor and the verde salsa is amazing.

Alexa E.

Yelp
so good! service was fast and food was bomb. Texas Twinkie and birria tacos. space is a little crowded though.

Yelp
Unbelievable!!! I'm in town from Charlotte, NC. I lived in TX for over a decade and have had my fair share of Brisket...but, this is undeniably the best brisket that I've ever tasted! It's melt in your mouth greatness! All of the food was amazing...so much so that I ate here two days in a row and brought my Son and ex-wife on Day 2 Brandon was supper nice and Jordan was great too!!! I cannot wait till I'm back in town...cause, I'm totally coming back to Hutado in Fort Worth, TX!!!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Fantastic Service by staff good vibe and great food. Love everything from the bira tacos to the burnt ends will all melt your mouth.

Yelp
Week 8 Letter H! We ate at Hurtado Barbecue - at the Fort Worth location. I was surprised how close it is to the hospital, yet I hadn't tried it before...It was amazing! My daughter got a smoked cheeseburger with mac n cheese, my husband and son shared "el Jefe" which was several kinds of meat, mac n cheese, and loaded potatoes, and I got a birria taco and tostada. We also tried the brisket elote and Texas Twinkies (brisket stuffed jalapeño poppers). If you haven't tried this place, it's worth checking out!
google avatar

Walter W.

Yelp
Mexique. A blend of Texas BBQ and Mexican spice and food. Brisket was excellent and illustrates the pitmaster brilliance. Sides today were potato salad and beans. The seasoning was different yet Delicious. This downtown location easy to find and the huge patio dining area handles crowds easily. Arlington location is the original but this location has that home town feeling. They greet everyone and follow up with you at the table. Attention like this guarantees success and a loyal following. Many first time customers there today and their comments after getting served were overwhelmingly positive. This is a must restaurant to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Hurtado Barbecue was featured on the news Ever since then, I've been wanting to come here. They were featured on the news because, they are right by the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Hurtado Barbecue has a new location in Fort Worth. I was close by the Fort Worth location because, I had my surgery at the Medical Center Surgery Center. My dad wanted to eat here so I was able to sample some food. I was totally out of it. I was feeling a little loopy because, because my general anesthesia was barely wearing off. However I do remember a few things. The parking lot is small, Hurtado Barbecue is visible from the streets, it's in the Medical district of Fort Worth, they are fairly busy, with prompt service and are accurate with orders, the prices are steep for a small serving. They have a few side items to choose from for $4.oo My dad said the Brisket was tender and thick but they only gave you like four slices. The Pototato Salad was good but not great. The Beans were different, they were very salty with a dash of Cilantro. To summarize things, it's easy to get to the food was okay for the price that you pay, but maybe you will like it ? You will have to try it sometime. ,
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, bring your own alcohol which we took advantage of. It's a small place but they do serve pretty good bbq, would recommend trying
google avatar

Syd G.

Yelp
I've been waiting g to try Hurtados for a long time. We drive by this location every time we come see my son's family. This time I decided to pickup a to go order during the middle of the week at lunch time. The parking lot is tiny but I got lucky and found a spot. Parking is an issue here. As soon as you walk in the aromas are soul soothing. The inside is small but has a few tables. I dropped a star because they don't offer fried okra. That's a staple to any good BBQ place. I noticed no fries either. So assuming they don't have a fryer. It's a little expensive but most BBQ is nowadays. So we ordered a lunch combo plate that came with two meats and two sides. Then we split it. The brisket was phenomenal! My son liked their cheddar sausage but it wasn't my favorite. But not bad. The potato salad was really good and so were the beans.
google avatar

Monie H.

Yelp
This review is for breakfast, and you know it was good because all food was eaten before I remembered to take pics of my takeout. LOL! It was my first time here. I decided to try some Saturday morning takeout. I was met with friendly service. I ordered the biscuit breakfast sandwich, the brisket Benedict, and a cornbread waffle. All the food was yummy. I especially liked that the brisket Benedict was on a biscuit with house made hollandaise, perfectly smoked fatty brisket, and perfectly poached eggs. My hubby enjoyed the food as well. That cornbread waffle is simply dreamy. It's loaded with brisket bits, corn, jalepeno, and yet it's oh so light, fluffy, and buttery. There is plenty of parking and the inside has enough space to enjoy eating there with friends & fam. The breakfast has encouraged me to check out their lunch/dinner menu.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Best bbq I've ever had. People were extremely friendly. Meat was cooked to perfection. Ambiance was very Texas-y. I'll be back

Yelp
Last night my wife and I were hungry and decided to get some BBQ. Came across Hurtado and we decided to give it a try. I ordered the El Jefe for pickup and let me tell you--this place does not miss. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was top tier. Even though it was close to closing time, the team greeted me with warm smiles and a friendly vibe that made us feel genuinely appreciated. The red slaw was 86'd, but they didn't just shrug it off--they offered a replacement without hesitation. That level of attentiveness says a lot about their commitment to quality and hospitality. As for the food? Absolutely perfect. Every bite was rich, smoky, and full of flavor. Hurtado isn't just serving BBQ--they're delivering an experience. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Josh T.

Yelp
The family had just left the zoo and after walking all over the hunger pains were kicking in since we didn't want to pay $100 for a bag of chips. The closest BBQ place was 7 minutes away and they sold beef ribs. When you drive there, parking is kinda complicated and tight. The front of the restaurant has some spaces, if not, you can park on the side. When you enter, you place the order at the counter. The monkies had a personal pan pizza at the zoo so they were not hungry. Mom had brisket loaded corn and I had that Fred Flintston beef rib charged by the pound ($46). The place was small and didn't smell like BBQ smoke. The employees were nice and provided friendly customer service. The pending issue were all the flies inside. The corn was loaded and full of brisket. The rib was AWESOME worth the price. The meat was falling off the bone and you could taste the rub with each bite. If im in the area, I would go again and like I always say, as long as the food taste good, I don't mind paying for it.

Yelp
In DFW for the weekend and tried to maximize my number of BBQ meals. The downtown FWTX location of Hurtado's serves breakfast. A single taco and a cornbread waffle is plenty of great food to start your day. Friendly folks to serve you, although you may have to wait for the waffle. It's totally worth it! I love the converted gas station / C-store vibes for BBQ joints. It's great to repurpose the old building, especially to serve outstanding Q like Hurtado!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing. just amazing! I'm so glad I came... and we got the combo order for 6 adults, 1 kid. We had leftovers still! The meats were so good, I had so many sausages and still had left overs. The mexican cornbread in the middle was soft and crunchy altogether, great!! That birria taco, so good but heavier. I think the best sides was probably the cabbage!! Crunchy and tasty. It is a quick service and don't get your seats before you order. read the sign! be courteous. you'll have seating! It was hot inside though..... barely any ac. We'll be back when we're in town again!
google avatar

T S.

Yelp
I came here for the first time today. Four people behind the counter and not one of them said hello or how can I help you. We looked at the menu for five minutes. Waited another five minutes for someone to greet us and take our order. No one did. They didn't even make eye contact. Very bad first impression. We left. My money spends everywhere. Pappasito's will be happy to take our money and provide great service. You will not get a chance to dismiss or ignore me again.
google avatar

Troy B.

Yelp
Ive had much better breakfast tacos, not worth $5.50 for one taco by any stretch, brisket on the taco was not impressive, fresh peppers and more meat would improve it. Otherwise friendly service ordering. Based on rave reviews I'll give their bbq menu a try though not expecting much based on the brisket served on my taco. I did try the bbq sauce and have to say it was very good, unfortunately a small bottle is $12.
google avatar

Rhea C.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING! Very flavorful and you really don't need to add anything to it! Their bbq sauce is unique. Service was great! People there are very friendly and they greet you with a smile once you walk through the door. The inside is very chill and welcoming and pleasing to the eye.
google avatar

Yelp
Hurtado Barbecue is amazing. The quality and taste are the absolute best I've ever had. This new location is unique and pretty small and has a nice outdoor patio. There isn't a ton of parking available so you may have to park down the street and walk up. The only reason why I took off 1 star was due to the amount of time it took to receive the food after I ordered it. There was no line at the counter but a ton of people waiting around for food. It ended up taking about 30 minutes to receive the food BUT like I said, the taste was amazing. I will absolutely be back as you can't get better BBQ in the area. This is a must try spot.
google avatar

Adam C.

Yelp
No idea how this location works, but all of the tables in the main dining room are seated and nobody has food. People have been standing /sitting around for 10- There is no line at the register. Not sure if this is how it goes here, but I wouldn't expect to successfully eat here on your lunch break. 20 minutes to get my food. Good or bad, you decide. The brisket, which is generally my favorite go-to is a little dry, very salty and definitely not their best work today. The Arlington location has this one down. The ribs are delicious. Birria taco? Delicious. Pork burnt ends? Sweet and delicious. Mexican cornbread? Eh. I'm indifferent
google avatar

Valerie A.

Yelp
It was delicious I had the chopped beef sandwich Looking forward to my next visit! Service was fast and courteous.

Yelp
I can't think of much to say except GO! I have been twice and I can't stop rolling my eyes at how good the food is and how excited I get when eating here. You have to bring your biggest BIG BACK ENERGY FRIENDS
google avatar

Angelica J.

Yelp
Hurtado's was amazing!!! Seems like it's smaller but there is a whole outside closed in deck area. We sat comfortably and they brought us our food. I really enjoyed their birria brisket tacos! They also serve big red in their drink fountain! That's definitely a Texas thing, loved that! My spouse and daughter had the Texas Trinity and both said the ribs were outstanding! I have to mention the brisket cornbread! The honey sauce that is on it just hits different! I'd say thats definitely a must try. Overall we ranked our experience 7.5 out of 10. Def would go back!
google avatar

Tami B.

Yelp
We went to try the ribs, brisket, and brisket sandwich. The sides we had were the Mac and cheese, loaded mashed potatoes, and sweet corn. The favorite side was the mashed potatoes, followed by the Mac and cheese. The brisket was the protein favorite. Not a lot of parking, but it seemed there might be street parking if the lot was full. Family friendly. Would recommend to someone looking for good Texas BBQ.
google avatar

Marie G.

Yelp
We had the Texas trinity, added a half chicken and a Texas Twinkie. Food was amazing and came out quick. this was our first stop in Texas and they did not disappoint. as always i started eating before i could snap a pic lol but it's definitely worth it.
google avatar

Roberto T.

Yelp
The food is great but the waiting time for service and the prices lack to be desired.
google avatar

Isabella K.

Yelp
Hurtado Barbecue is the pinnacle of the Texas barbecue experience. Authentic and unique flavors make their menu an excellent choice. The brisket is flavorful and so moist it does not even need bbq sauce. The burnt end pork bellies are sensational, crunchy and seasoned on the outside, with a moist, buttery inside. The Texas Twinkie is amazing! But, the real star of the show is their tres leches cake! That alone is worth visiting Hurtado Barbecue for! The atmosphere may be unassuming, but the food will speak for itself! Not, to mention their staff are welcoming and attentive, especially Nick! He made our experience so personal and gave great recommendations off their menu! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Updating to a 5. This is the only BBQ I'll eat now. I know that ignorant sounding but they have the best ribs and Mac and cheese ever. I really don't care about any of the other sides. Thanks for always treating us with kindness and great service whenever we go in.

Yelp
My 11year old says best ribs and 5-star! Brisket baked potato was delicious! Great cornbread! Mac and cheese wonderful!
