The Best Doughnuts in Dallas-Fort Worth

"Bring the kids — or let your inner kid out at the DFW outpost of this popular chain. Hurts is the kind of spot where wacky doughnut names are only topped by the piles of cereal, candy, and icing that decorate their products. Don’t like what you see? DIY doughnuts that incorporate all those over-the-top toppings are also an option." - Courtney E. Smith

The place is super nice inside. The bathrooms and dining area are very clean. The donuts are works of art. I was so stoked to try this place! I just knew that the donuts were going to be as delicious as they were beautiful. That was not the case. I was so disappointed. I will agree with a lot of of the comments in this review section, and that is, the donuts are exceedingly sweet, to the point that you can take just a few bites. Further, and the part that is so disappointing, is that all three of the donuts I tried were dry, as if they were a day old. The giant apple fritter was equally dry. I arrived around 12:45 PM. There’s no way the donuts could be that dry if they were made that morning. If these truly were made on the morning, I bought the donuts, that is a terrible sign. I would feel much better if they told me they were a day old. I will not be back. The salted caramel donut was good, but it was so dry!

Honestly the donuts and coffee are terrible but prices and staff are amazing and they’re never busy so if your trying to enjoy time for reading, research or a meeting this place works well. If you want good coffee or donuts I’d suggest going somewhere else. But again staff was great and atmosphere was fine.

Filling and good! Mostly cake type donuts. Love love love the boxes. Very creative, fun, and colorful. Totally sturdy and durable for take out.

Absolutely the best doughnuts I've ever had! The line and wait were ridiculous, but worth it.

They changed their menu and not for the better. They have changed the type of donuts and the frosting that’s supposed to be on them. For example, the ET donut is supposed to be on a cake donut with peanut butter icing. Now it’s on a yeast donut with chocolate frosting. Completely different than advertised on the Hurts menu. Super disappointed!! Bring back the original menu. This place is now no different than any other donut shop. Won’t be going back.

If you are looking for gluten free donuts that are as close to the real thing, stop here! They are fried and frosted. They make gluten free Thursday-Sundays. They are in their own case as well and staff change gloves. These are amazing and a must stop for all gluten free people.

😋A coworker brought these donuts in to the office to share. 🍩The boxes contained some of their most popular menu items. 😍The donuts had really fun decorations. Nobody at work had ever tried them, so we cut them all into 4 pieces so that we could try different flavors. I really like the blueberry streusel 🫐and the cosmic brownie🤎. One coworker thought that the Andes mint donut tasted like toothpaste. 🤭 The chocolate ones seemed moister than the white cake donuts. The glazed seemed average. I can't really comment on the shop itself, since I have never been there. I believe that there is only one location in Arizona and it is located in Tempe. The drive-thru is open 24 hrs., but I am not sure about the inside of the restaurant. I couldn't find a menu with individual prices online, but they seem to range between $2-$6 each for donuts, fritters, and cinnamon rolls. they also sell hot and cold beverages like coffee and shakes.☕ If you like donuts and you live nearby, maybe put it on your donut bucket-list to try. 😃

I've had to medically be Gluten Free for 12 years now. Just a few months ago we found out Hurts Tempe had gluten free donuts. They were the best I have ever had, and the best part is I never got sick. Every Thursday through Sunday you could count on this location having a large selection of gluten free donuts available, that are also safe to eat. Then management changed and they decided it wasn't worth it to them to make them anymore. Even went as far as to call the day before to ask if they'd have gluten free available the next morning, was told yes they'd have them, and then the next day there was nothing because they "didn't feel like making them." So incredibly disappointed and so is the Gluten Free community. They used to be so highly recommended but now they've lost our support. Do better.
