The Best Doughnuts in Dallas-Fort Worth

"Bring the kids — or let your inner kid out at the DFW outpost of this popular chain. Hurts is the kind of spot where wacky doughnut names are only topped by the piles of cereal, candy, and icing that decorate their products. Don’t like what you see? DIY doughnuts that incorporate all those over-the-top toppings are also an option." - Courtney E. Smith

My girl was craving some late night donuts as if it were a donut emergency and she found Hurt Donuts, with a donut ambulance parked out front. Perfect! I have to say, the attention to detail inside was on point. From the ambiance to the intricate designs on the donuts. Our eyes were definitely feasting, and we had paralysis from all of the delectable options to choose from. I have to say, some places are all about looks -- you bite in and taste nothing but disappointment. That's not the case at Hurt Donuts. Every bite was succulent, mouth watering, and delicious. They had some type of special where they had replaced the bacon on a long john with pulled pork that tasted like it was smoked and candied.. oh man, the girl and I almost fought over that one. I took several photos of their display while visiting. Highly recommend checking them out, right off of the 101 and University.

Hurts Donuts is hands down one of the most fun and unique donut shops I’ve ever been to. The moment you walk in, the vibe is upbeat and creative – definitely not your typical donut shop. Their selection is massive, and every donut feels like it has its own personality. From classics done right to over-the-top creations piled high with toppings, there’s something for everyone. I tried a couple of their wild flavors, and they tasted just as good as they looked. The donuts are fresh, fluffy, and the toppings are generous. It’s also the kind of place that makes you want to bring a box home just to show off how crazy and fun they look. Perfect for grabbing a treat with friends, family, or even to surprise clients with something different. If you’re in Arizona and want a donut experience that’s way beyond ordinary, Hurts Donuts is worth the stop. You’ll leave with a sugar rush and a smile

Great donut place and very friendly and kind staff. Ordered dozen donuts (for $24) and they were some of the best donuts I have had in a long time. They have great varieties to select from and they all taste amazing. My favorite will probably be chocolate sprinkles or the brownie.

I’ve been visiting a handful of times per year since their grand opening, generally ordering the bear claw or cinnamon roll. Their quality really fell off the cliff about 2 years ago and the employees always seemed so miserable as well. The employees just looking absolutly spent caused me to boycott completely for over 9 months. Just revisited yesterday for national donut day and was shocked to find one cinnamon roll and one bear claw still available at 9pm! The employee who took my order was polite and said they had been absolutely crushed because of the national holiday. I tipped the max option at the register and thanked her. Ya’all, I hope this wasn’t just for the holiday because this is arguably the best bear claw I’ve ever had and they did not skimp on portion size!

The place is super nice inside. The bathrooms and dining area are very clean. The donuts are works of art. I was so stoked to try this place! I just knew that the donuts were going to be as delicious as they were beautiful. That was not the case. I was so disappointed. I will agree with a lot of of the comments in this review section, and that is, the donuts are exceedingly sweet, to the point that you can take just a few bites. Further, and the part that is so disappointing, is that all three of the donuts I tried were dry, as if they were a day old. The giant apple fritter was equally dry. I arrived around 12:45 PM. There’s no way the donuts could be that dry if they were made that morning. If these truly were made on the morning, I bought the donuts, that is a terrible sign. I would feel much better if they told me they were a day old. I will not be back. The salted caramel donut was good, but it was so dry!

Absolutely the best doughnuts I've ever had! The lady behind the counter was disinterested in serving customers. She was lacking in any social skills that help to promote good interactions with customers. However, she did answer questions and filled the order correctly. Maybe she was having a bad day, but as a customer, I would think that management would want a warm, welcoming personality to invite people to spend more time and money at your establishment.

Aside from it being pretty dirty, these donuts rank top 3 best in the nation. I love donuts and have been a lot of places.

I was visiting Tempe and wanted to try these donuts. I love donuts and wouldn’t consider myself super picky regarding donuts. I unfortunately think I’ve had day old donuts from a grocery store that tasted similar. Like… SO DRY! We were there at 9:30 am, so I’m confused! The people were okay, the atmosphere was fine. The prices were a little spendy considering the donuts weren’t good. The Homer: actually the worst donut I’ve ever had. So so dry and then sweet frosting, which I do like. The fruity pebbles: this was my favorite, and seemed the least dry, but still dry The mint Oreo one: yummy frosting, such a dry donut Andes mint: my friend got this one and it was very dry cake donut and she reports “not very good” Brownie: better than the Andes mint but still very dry Glaze donut: wasn’t bad, but she’d pick Krispy Kreme or a grocery store over it. so dry/stale. Here’s my thing… for these donuts, it was $18, which isn’t bad if they were amazing but they weren’t good. I feel like they were one of the stalest donuts ever. We unfortunately chucked them after leaving
