Craving the perfect hot chicken? Look no further—this is the place! Hands down, the best Nashville hot chicken around. Whether you're visiting or a local, stop your search right here. As a local who’s tried almost every spot (and even makes it myself), I can confidently say that Hurts has that authentic, "home-cooked" quality that truly stands out. You won’t be disappointed!

Let me set the scene: Mount Juliet Fourth of July Celebration. My wife and I both ordered from Hurt’s via the QR code—me at 7:48 PM, her at 7:51 PM. Our confirmation texts said the food would be ready by 8:38 PM. When 8:38 rolled around, we were still 27 orders away. The new estimate? Another 50 minutes. The fireworks started at 9 PM. During the show, I walked up to the truck and politely asked for a refund since we were clearly not getting our food in time. Instead of any ounce of professionalism, I was met with rude, dismissive staff who acted like I was the issue. I gave them our order numbers, and one guy literally scoffed at me and said, “No, what’s ON the orders?” Then he tried offering me some random meal like that would fix everything. I declined and said we’d rather have a refund since the event was basically over. I told them I had replied to the confirmation text requesting a refund, and the guy (who seemed to be in charge) basically waved me off and said, “Then we’ll get to it.” That was it. No apology, no accountability, nothing. This food truck is a joke. Horrible service, no communication, and zero respect for paying customers. I would never recommend this place to anyone. If I don’t get that refund, Hurt’s is going to have a HOT problem. Do yourself a favor—eat anywhere else.

Incredible! So flavorful, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. This hot chicken went straight to the top of my favorites list. A bonus, the whole family is helping and it makes for an awesome experience. Highly recommend

Google
The hot chicken gyro is one of the better things I’ve ever eaten! This hot chicken has an amazing and unique long/slow burn that had the heat still building 10 minutes after I finished eating it all. I will be craving this burn and will be back many times. And that strawberry syrup with a lil kick? FIRE. I want to pour that stuff on everything.

I decided to try the app Too Good To Go and get a surprise bag. Nobody is at this location and as far as I heard from someone else who sells boiled peanuts here says nobody has been here in over three weeks. I called the number on the trailer and all he said is you’re gonna have to get a refund. Sadly, I did not get to try and I don’t know if I would ever waste my time driving back over here. I do hope the family is OK and if anyone ever answers this, maybe I’ll give it another try

I had Hurt's X-Hot Chicken Tenders today at the Murfreesboro Hot Chicken Festival and absolutely loved them. Some of the best I've ever had. I just wish they made the trek down to Murfreesboro more often.

I’m at the Full Moon Pickin Party with a variety of food trucks. I’m disappointed that it took a full hour to get my after I ordered. To be successfully with a food truck, it’s not about how fast you take orders. It about how fast you push food out the window. A full hour is not acceptable.

Yelp
Was informed I had never reviewed Hurt's Hot Chicken truck, so I figured I would take a shot at it now. Let's start with the bad, since it is the shorter subject here. Lamont Hurt is normally a one-man show, so he does everything from order taking to cooking to serving. A lot, especially considering he has a small towed trailer type of food truck. Why is this "bad"? It takes awhile to get your chicken. I think that is easily solved by planning things out (either ordering ahead or finding a seat with friends while you wait - if you are in Bellevue on Thursday, you are welcome to join us). Let's flip this. Lamont makes a mean chicken. When I say mean, I am talking both in the sense of wicked good and in the sense you can hurt yourself if you go to hot. TBH, if you don't like much heat, just get it fried, as even his mild has the weakest members of my family crying (weakest in the sense of not liking much heat, of course). If you go for hot, it will light most of you up (Yes, Trent, I know you da man for heat). As for what to order, it depends. Have not had a dry tender (sandwich) or breast. But my personal favorite is the Hot Chicken gyros. Shredded fried tenders (choose your heat) on a pita smothered with tzatziki sauce. Don't know how he thought this up, but it is a real winner in my book. You can check out his schedule on social media. Normally in Mt. Juliet. At the driving range on Old Harding in Bellevue Thursday from about 5 to sun down.

Yelp
Perfection on tenderness and the breading for this hot chicken. The medium heat had good spice and allowed for flavor enjoyment! Nice sized tenders and overall hot spot!

Yelp
I've been eating Hot Chicken for years and would definitely consider myself a NHC connoisseur. Hurt's has been on my list for over a year and I finally was able to try it at The Hot Chicken Festival on 4th of July. I ordered the tenders and fries, and got the spice level of "hot". It was hot enough to have a lot of flavor and just the right amount of spice. I have a high tolerance but still like to enjoy it. What makes this dish special, is that they put a lemon seasoning on the fries, and it is so delicious + unique. They also serve you a dipping sauce that tastes as if barbecue sauce and ketchup have a baby. Sounds crazy, but it is sooooo delicious with the fries. I would def order this again and am dying to try their hot shrimp and hot gyro!

Yelp
Easily one of the top few hot chicken places in Nashville, and I've been eating Nashville hot chicken my entire life. For the people complaining about the wait -- gtfo. It's well worth it, and they don't have pressure fryers. It takes time to get that beautiful crunch to your breading. If you're in a rush, order ahead or go some place where they cut corners, cause this isn't that kind of spot.

Yelp
Really great food, but off putting customer service. They're super nice until you pay, and then they're rather rude. I'm not a fan of the forced tipping of 15-25% either when a hot chicken plate is already $16.

Timothy T.

Yelp
The worst. The only thing they got right in the order process was taking my money. Everything after that was too complicated for them. Food took forever to get out and they skipped my order. I never got a chance to actually eat, but I'm sure it's garbage. Stupid name for a hot chicken restaurant too.

Yelp
This is probably the best hot chicken I've had. I had the hottest level and can tell you it's no joke, some of the hottest I've tasted. Best of all, the flavor is really good. Don't miss it!

Yelp
Great hot chicken tenders! Got this when they moved the truck to East Nashville for the day and it was very tasty. The chicken was juicy and perfectly fried. The flavor was right on point and the owner hooked it up with an extra tender.

Yelp
Food truck. Hot Chicken in the 'vue (Bellevue)--no menu posted but a passerby recommended the tenders so we went for it. Yum! Best hot chicken we've had (wayyyyy better than smokin thighs, helens, Hattie b, marginally better than princes?), bread, pickles, fries for ~$11 with HUGE PORTION of chicken! We got medium and it was damn hot! Might try mild next time, and we are not gringos! Big fans of spicy food! But....great mix of spices here, not overpowered by the heat, still great flavor even as you're panting Thru the hot chickenness. His boss sauce is on the side & deeeeelish, kind of a sweet/tangy bbq-like sauce, not creamy, may have ketchup & mystery spice in it. Highly recommend. Has a Facebook page where he sometimes posts menu for the day...looks to usually have some mix of hot chicken, fries, gyros, fish, cheese fries? Didn't list price. It's often over at the harpeth golf course in Bellevue, so we will be back! Might even try getting ONE order, cutting it up & eating in a salad, for summer dinner.... owner is named Hurt. Super sweet guy, made a point of chatting with us noobs & welcoming back our business. Tip: takes cash or credit card!

Yelp
Will never spend another dollar here. I get that it's busy at a hot chicken festival, but waiting in line for 40 minutes plus over an hour trying to get our food was beyond outrageous when other lines were easily filling orders. They were still taking orders that they wouldn't be able to fill by the end of the festival at their pace, they didn't realize they overlapped ticket numbers because they were over 100 orders behind, and the workers were just chilling in the truck making one order every 10 minutes ish. I never got my order, but after the experience, I have no desire to give them anymore money even on a regular day.

Yelp
Amazing Hot Chicken!! I've tried them all and would recommend this chicken over all the big names in town. Thanks for coming out to Wrights Farm tonight

Yelp
best hot chicken in town. skip the "well known" spots and go to the real deal.

Yelp
We had Hurts for the first time last night. Best hot chicken in Nashville! Better than Hattie B's, Party Fowl, or any other places out there!
