"The restaurant, previously known as Husk, was transformed into Husk Barbeque during the pandemic to offer a more casual and affordable dining concept focused on barbecue. Despite these efforts, the restaurant did not generate enough demand and closed on October 3." - Erin Perkins

"Like most restaurants around the country, the Greenville, South Carolina, branch of Husk shut down at the beginning of the pandemic, but instead of a usual reopening, it will come back as Husk Barbeque. The Neighborhood Dining Group says that during the COVID-caused hiatus, they decided to pivot hyper-local Southern/Appalachian restaurant into barbecue to offer a more casual and affordable concept that also allows for maximization of takeout options. Executive chef and pitmaster David Jensen, formerly the butcher and sous chef of Husk Charleston, will be in charge of the kitchen. He’s bringing on more smoked meats, like St. Louis-style ribs, sausages, pulled pork, and brisket. Popular items from the original Husk menu will remain, like the famous burger, the fried chicken, and pimento cheese. An opening date hasn’t been set yet, but the Neighborhood Dining Group predicts that it will be this month. Once open, Husk Barbeque will open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday." - Erin Perkins

Was in town visiting the falls and area for the day with family. Husk BBQ was available for sit down service right away but didn’t have outside seating. Our group of 7 tried just about everything on the menu. Everything was pretty decent. The drinks especially the old fashioned was superb and Belgian porter perfect. As for the rest of the food it’s was pretty good nothing to write home to mom about but passable. The banana pudding dessert, mac & cheese, homemade daily sausage special stood out as exceptionally delicious. The establishment was clean well decorated and the building unique. The staff was super friendly and upbeat. Altogether would you come here for perfect southern BBQ probably not but in a pinch it does the trick. Cheers!

Working for a popular concierge group and regularly recommending HUSK to my customers, I decided to try it when I came into town. I have never been more disappointed in service as I was there. The BBQ was good (ribs could have been cooked a bit longer but they were still good), but our waitress was terrible. I would be willing to try the other locations but I will not go back to the Greenville location nor will I recommend it to anyone, and I've already told my local family to not go there. Our waitress didn't interact at all with us, got our orders, messed up drink orders, then we waited literally 26 minuets after clearly being done eating to get our bill as our waitress hung out at the hostess booth or the bar instead of assisting her customers. We asked for two boxes to go, we received one and finally was able to get another waitress to bring us our boxes and to-go dessert. I've worked as a waitress and bartender and I tip generously but on a $99 tab I only left $5 because of the terrible service. I want to say that the food was good and it was only our waitress that left such an unfavorable view of the restaurant. I ordered the 3-meat combo with ribs, brisket, and turkey, collards and Mac and cheese My boyfriend ordered 3-meat combo with ribs, pork, and brisket cheese grits and collards We had the pork rinds and deviled eggs as an appetizer and banana pudding for a dessert. And I also ordered their old fashion for a drink. The servings were very generous. We were able to make three meals out of it. I think the only thing we weren't impressed with was the cornbread.

Delicious dry rub wings, I liked the Alabama white dipping sauce. The collards had a great flavor a smidge too much vinegar for me but nonetheless really tasty. My friend that brought me had been before and had the catfish plate on her visit and said it was great. She had the collards and mac and cheese. Connor the manager was super kind along with our waitress, and really all employees we encountered. We were checked on my our waitress along with other employees that just walked by. I will most certainly be back to try other things.

Phenomenal service, great food, and amazing cocktails! Had one of the best bloody Mary's ever here. Comes with ham and pickled tomato. Flat iron steak was cooked to perfection, eggs were fresh, and biscuit was top notch. Must visit!

This is the ideal place for great food and drinks. Everything was made perfectly and tasted delicious. For dinner I had the duck followed with the sorbet and milk and cookies. I highly recommend coming to this place if you have an appetite for a well prepped dinner.

UPDATE - 4/13: We decided to visit Husk for dinner and this time, the food blew us away! They further described how they take "Farm to Table" seriously, and was able to detail the origin for all of our food. I had a Strip loin steak from Tennessee with green onions, bok choi, fingerling potatoes, and mushrooms with a delicious reduction/sauce. As seen in the photos, I cleaned my plate. I highly recommend dinner at Husk! ........ Husk has a wonderful atmosphere, aesthetic, and ambiance. However, the food didn't wow us for brunch at least. The presentation and selection all sound good but some flavors just didn't work as you would expect. The beam and greens side dishes weren't my favorite, but that could be preference for sure. The eggs are heavy (ft. Cheese) so be aware when ordering. My wife and I are still looking forward to returning in the near future to try some other dishes (French Toast and Cheeseburger) since we think our food choices may have not been our favorites.

Went there for brunch. We received the best service from start to finish. Great starters and brunch selection was awesome. Great cocktails as well. My loved her bloody mary and I had a new cocktail called the brawling man which was really refreshing concoction. Cant wait to return for another try. Oh and yes the dessert are to sue for too. Best bread pudding outside of New Orleans I have had.

The restaurant has a nice ambience and the food is not bad. The service was nice. I will go back to try something different. I had the brisket, the flavor was very good but I expected it to be soft and it wasn't, it was hard and chewy. The sides were ok but again I will try something else in the future. For me, the mac and cheese were good but the pasta was to thick. Was disappointed they didn't have expresso, but I guess that was to much to ask.
