Husk Barbeque is a trendy spot, blending Southern flavors with a casual vibe, serving smoked meats and craft cocktails in a charming setting.
"The restaurant, previously known as Husk, was transformed into Husk Barbeque during the pandemic to offer a more casual and affordable dining concept focused on barbecue. Despite these efforts, the restaurant did not generate enough demand and closed on October 3." - Erin Perkins
"Like most restaurants around the country, the Greenville, South Carolina, branch of Husk shut down at the beginning of the pandemic, but instead of a usual reopening, it will come back as Husk Barbeque. The Neighborhood Dining Group says that during the COVID-caused hiatus, they decided to pivot hyper-local Southern/Appalachian restaurant into barbecue to offer a more casual and affordable concept that also allows for maximization of takeout options. Executive chef and pitmaster David Jensen, formerly the butcher and sous chef of Husk Charleston, will be in charge of the kitchen. He’s bringing on more smoked meats, like St. Louis-style ribs, sausages, pulled pork, and brisket. Popular items from the original Husk menu will remain, like the famous burger, the fried chicken, and pimento cheese. An opening date hasn’t been set yet, but the Neighborhood Dining Group predicts that it will be this month. Once open, Husk Barbeque will open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday." - Erin Perkins
