Every MICHELIN-Star Restaurant in São Paulo

"Seated at an intimate counter I enjoyed impeccable sushi sequences alongside creative hot dishes, a combination that underscores Huto's meticulous yet personal approach to service." - The MICHELIN Guide

"This dark and intimate Japanese restaurant, somewhat hidden between the Moema and Indianópolis districts of the city, is definitely worth a visit. As soon as you enter, you’ll be invited to sit at the sushi bar at the centre of proceedings to choose one of Huto’s menus (one features lots of different options, while the two Omakase menus take you on a journey into the chef’s culinary world). Options include brioche with wagyu tartare and Macadamia nuts, oysters with ponzu, and a superb array of sushi – through the latter the chef demonstrates his undeniable skill in front of our eyes (although some diners are happy to order just a single type of sushi). But one dish that we particularly enjoyed was the hot tuna sashimi with tahini: a delicious morsel of red tuna which is very lightly seared and served with a smooth and silky sesame-flavoured sauce." - Michelin Inspector

"Cuisine of the highest quality is the order of the day in this small restaurant run by the attentive owner himself. Here, you would be well advised to take the chef’s advice and choose one of the three omakase menus (the Japanese word ‘omakase’ translates loosely as ‘leave it up to us’). Show complete confidence in your host by enthusiastically ordering menu 3, savouring each and every ‘surprise’ dish until you ask the kitchen to stop, otherwise you won’t stop eating... An extraordinary experience!" - Michelin Inspector

definitely not worth a Michelin star. Fish quality is ok but not great. Sushi rice is disaster. Definitely over cooked. Very dry and sticky at the same time. When I ask the chief chef, he confirmed the rice is overcooked. But he is not willing to make any change. Timing is completely off. Only served 3 dishes at the first hour. And rushed 6 pieces of sushi in 5 minutes. When I asked to switch chef, he said it would not change anything. But they changed anyway. True, nothing changed, rice is still disaster. Atmosphere is also very bad. Very noise. Ginger is also very rough… overall very bad experience.

From the moment we sat at the counter at Huto Sushi, we knew we were in for something special. Chef Sergio Miyai guided us through an extraordinary omakase journey that showcased the very best of Japanese cuisine with impeccable Brazilian ingredients. Each course was a masterpiece — from perfectly aged toro to melt-in-your-mouth uni, every bite highlighted Chef Sergio’s precision and passion. The progression of flavors was thoughtful and balanced, keeping us excited and surprised throughout the meal. Beyond the incredible sushi, the service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. The staff took the time to explain each dish and sake pairing, adding depth to the experience. The ambiance of the sushi bar is intimate and elegant, making it perfect for a special night out. Huto Sushi is easily one of the best omakase experiences in São Paulo. Chef Sergio Miyai’s skill and creativity make every visit unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to savor world-class sushi.

Tasting menu and omakase experience was amazing! New flavours and excellent quality. Locals say this is the best in town.

The service did really stand out. The food was really good, but in my opinion not spectacular for the price point. That being said, some of the dishes were unique and inventive. If you have had sushi at great restaurants abroad you might not be impressed by the food, but the service and ambiance would still make this a place worth going at least once.

Definitely not deserving of a Michelin star. I am from San Francisco, so my standards are high, but the sushi and other dishes from the kitchen at Huto are not up to world class standards. The quality of the fish was very good, but not excellent. Many of the sauces were heavy-handed and over-seasoned. The pacing was off (too fast), although the wait staff was professional and polite. Overall, the food was no better than any of the dozens of mid-range Japanese restaurants in San Francisco that don't have Michelin stars, and nowhere near as good as the truly high end Japanese restaurants whose prices Huto matches. If you're going to charge Michelin star prices, you better deliver Michelin star quality, and Huto doesn't.

Google
Huto offers a unique experience, especially if you enjoy sitting at the sushi bar — it's fun to watch the chefs work up close. While there’s no English-speaking staff, it’s not an issue since you're in a non-English-speaking country. The service was friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience overall. We opted for the omakase, and while the food was good, the portions were smaller than expected, especially for the price. The dishes were tasty, but not particularly unique or memorable. Unfortunately, the dessert was a letdown, as it didn’t quite hit the mark. It’s a nice place for a special occasion, but given the price point and the overall experience, I’m not sure I’d return unless there were a new menu or a special reason to.

Google
Food is amazing, but for Michelin I was expecting smth more. (It was like 4 out of 12 dishes with Michelin level) Service is 5/5 (they don't speak English, but always explain every dish with translator) Many vegan options (but nothing special) Really pricy, even for Michelin star place, we paid about R$1250 ($250) for 2 persons, regular and vegan dinner + wine + desert. Staff was super nice and it was an good experience.

Google
I have tried and tried to find a good omakase option in São Paulo which has the largest Japanese population outside of Japan and no luck. Every restaurant was just mediocre… till last night. Huto has a Michelin star and it is certainly well deserved .. lots of sushi servings for the omakase and comparable to the sushi in Tokyo.

Yelp
I reserved a spot for dinner in advance and sat at the bar in front of the chefs. The omakase was delicious and great value for the price. They don't speak English but the waiters help translate and explain the difference between the two omakase options. Service was really great and the fish quality was fresh. Luckily street parking here is open (no Zona Azul required) and the restaurant lived up to its 1 Michelin star. Thanks Huto!

Yelp
Truly some of the best sushi i've ever had! I've been to multiple michelin star spots in the US but its safe to say that this far exceeded those. The quality of the fish was one of a kind. And the omakase served fish that i've never personally tried before but were still remarkable. Each piece melted in my mouth. Truly a breathtaking meal!

Yelp
Such an incredible experience! I had been eager to try this Michelin star spot, and it did not disappoint. The ambience is wonderful, especially at the sushi bar. We came and had the omakase (insanely priced at only ~$60 per person, unheard of in the states) and it was a parade of flavor. The kitchen surprise dishes were all delicious and creative, and the sushi portions were amazingly fresh. The entree was an intriguing Japanese pumpkin soup of sorts with crayfish, and was absolutely delightful. Dessert was ice cream, the perfect sweet ending. Can't recommend enough, definitely make a reservation and enjoy!

Yelp
Slightly off the usual "beaten tracks" of Itaim, Jardims or Pinheiros, this little gem serves creative and delicate Japanese-inspired sea food and sushi. Great decor and friendly service makes the overall experience memorable. Make sure you book.
