I had to come back and write this review. You know how it usually goes — when it’s bad, people rush to leave a review, but when it’s really good, people forget. I couldn’t forget this place. I tried the banh mi egg sandwich with beef and added extra beef — and wow. I also got egg rolls, a pastry with pork, and sticky rice with pork. I pretty much ordered everything they had except a few items, but I’ve only eaten the banh mi and the egg rolls so far because I couldn’t stop. Hands down, this is the best banh mi sandwich I’ve ever had. This place is seriously underrated. I was literally looking for it for about 30 minutes before I finally found it, and it was 100% worth it. I can’t stop thinking about how good that sandwich was — like, wow. I’m visiting the area and I will absolutely be coming back again before I leave. It’s that good. I ate it so fast I forgot to take pictures, but this is my honest review: you HAVE to try the banh mi here. This place is amazing. Highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love the sandwiches and drinks. Always fast service and great sandwiches. They do have a small table and some outside but we always grab to go. Have been coming here for 8 years and the consistency is always the same!

Small, family-owned spot selling the best banh mi in the city. If you think you don't like pate, try it in the combo sandwich here. Very well seasoned and no mineral flavor.

Authentic viet sandwiches, packed with flavor and doesn’t skimp out on toppings and meat, which some banh mi places do. We ordered bbq pork (#8), regular pork (#9), beef (#14), and combination (#16) sandwiches and all were amazing!!! It’s a bit of a drive but we’ll worth coming here, it’s hidden in a shopping center so people typically miss it but you have to come and check this place out! They also have side dishes as well like egg rolls (they were good) & drinks to go along with your sandwich. Quick service and friendly people, the owner Huy is a sweet older gentleman who takes your order and helped gives us the recommendations for a couple of the sandwiches.

Interior wise I would say the same too. The place is known mostly​ for it's banh mi or Vietnamese sandwiches as most Americans know it. You can also get other Vietnamese pastries and snack foods there as well. Prices are not expensive and you get a good amount in return. Probably one of the better Banh Mi shops in town. Taste is on point. Very legit and definitely worth the visit. Most people just grab it to go anyways.

My partner and I ordered a #12 veggie banh mi and #16 special combo banh mi - TASTE: 4/5 - enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients in my veggie banh mi. I'm obsessed w the combo of mayo/butter, pate, and fish sauce at my regular go-to spot, so this sandwich is different, but still tasty TEXTURE: 4/5 - the bread was fresh and nice to bite into. The daikon, cilantro, and carrots were crisp too PRICE: 5/5 - our total was only $13! SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - baguettes were not as long and the sandwich wasn't stuffed, but still good for a light lunch SERVICE: 4/5 - Huy's was empty when we arrived at 11:45am on a Saturday. Our border was ready in a few minutes PARKING: 5/5 - plenty of parking in Live Oak Plaza

I love banh bao. I have tried many places and I like to go here. The flavor and ratio of meat to bread is perfect. There's egg and lap xuong inside.

I discovered this sandwich due to my current job. My bosses love this this sandwich shop and I see why. Now, I typically order banh mi dac biet - steamed pork roll combination. But my coworkers really love the grilled pork combination sandwich. The bread is also very fresh and not too hard where it hurts the roof of your mouth. They also have side dishes and prepackage food that are ready to buy.

the banh mi here was great! makes me a bit homesick when i had it. the location wasn't too bad. wished they would have a bit more seating, but the weather was nice enough to sit outside and enjoyed our banh mi. my husband got the bo nuong and like it and i got the thit which was good to my tasting. the service was great! they are connected with the cargo service next door, but they blocked it with some merchandise. overall, we will be coming back when in town.

Nice little mom and pop type shop! My husband suggested this place since he ate here during a business lunch and wanted me to try it. We walked and were greeted asap. We sat toward the back and it was un-welcomingly cold as ever. I ordered their bbq pork sandwich and the egg rolls. Both were very good, however, if you add lime to the sandwich, amazing!

Friendly family-owned business. I think this place is underrated. Best grilled pork banh mi I've ever had (on their good days). Love the combination of the charred pork with scallions and fried onions. The pork was tender and well-seasoned. The ingredients were perfectly balanced together. HOWEVER - I have to say that there have been a few times when the grilled pork was slightly off - either too dry or not grilled enough to bring out all the flavors. The xiu mai is also very good. I always ask for the veggies to be separated so that I can go home and lightly toast the banh mi before incorporating the veggies. Highly recommend doing this for the most tasty experience.

This really is a 4.5 star review. Bread was so fresh and flavorful. The fried egg rolls and pork/shrimp spring rolls were delicious. Only complaint was that the veggies were not pickled enough and I wished I had more of them (but that was probably just because I was missing the pickling flavor). I have a couple of bahn mi places I've been wanting to try and Huy's is closest to my house so we tried here first. We will definitely be back to enjoy more!!

I got the # 9 pork sandwich. One of the best Banh Mi I've ever had. The bread is outstanding, better and crispier than most banh mi spots. The ingredients inside the sandwich were good too.

Looking at all the good reviews, we decided to give it a try. It's situated at a strip mall across the street behind HK supermarket. The place is clean and neat. The people were friendly. We ordered two #1 combination sandwiches and rice noodle with sliced sausage. The rice noodle was ok but we were really disappointed on the sandwiches. It was lacking something which we couldn't explain it exactly. Not enough mayonnaise? Not enough seasoning? The other place that is very close to this has much much better Vietnamese sandwiches and much cheaper. We think we will stick to the other place.

$3.70 for a Tasty Banhmi? heck yeah! I don't know how Mr Huy does it! Maybe he gets by on volume of sandwiches sold? Whatever the reason, come here now! keep coming so we can continue having amazing $4 sandwiches!!!

My absolute favorite Banh mi spot in metro ATL. (2nd best is Banh Mi Cafe). The bun is crispy, light, and fluffy. The condiments are finger licking tasty. The veggies are fresh combined with your choice of meat. There is literally something for EVERYONE. And the original package baggie the sandwiches come in are so cute too. Every time I come I always get my favorite, the #1. Cold Combo meats. Which I recommend for first timers or the BBQ pork or chicken. The crispness of bun with the sweetness pickled veggies with the sponginess of the meats and the paste. Sooo good. On top of everything the nice older man behind the counter is so friendly. Makes you feel like a part of their family. I love it there honestly. Always make a stop every time I'm in the area. WORTH IT !!

A place is doing something right if you're already planning a second visit right after your first! I don't think I would've known about Huy's Sandwich if not for Yelp. Thanks Yelp, the banh mis were really delicious.  Huy's is a no-frills spot in a strip mall that also functions as a mini-mart, offering premade foods to go in addition to the sandwiches. They sell 15 different banh mi options that are all $5 except for the #14 Grilled Beef ($7) and the #16 Special Combo ($5.50). Reading over the older reviews, it looks like their prices used to be lower. COVID-19 can be blamed. But if you purchase 5 sandwiches, you get 1 free.  Right after we walked in, two women behind the counter informed us that the #9 Grilled Pork was the most popular selection. Of course I had to try it, along with the #1 Combination. If you request no cilantro, Huy's leaves your banh mi undressed and includes a baggie full of cucumber slices, picked carrots and radishes, jalapeños, and yes, the not-requested cilantro.  Both banh mi were fantastic. I was particularly enamored of the baguettes which weren't too crusty and were pillowy inside. There's a reason why the grilled pork is a bestseller! And the combination with sliced meat was terrific too though quite strong-tasting.

The BEST banh mi in Atlanta. We go at least once a week. They have buy six get one free, and we always buy six. BANH MI TRUNG OPLA This is one of my favorites. The egg oozes out of the bread, and all of the ingredients are perfect for a breakfast sandwich. I always get out with pate and extra cilantro. Banh MI DAC BIET this combo sandwich is also one of my favorites. Everything is in it, the pickled vegetables, extra cilantro and Cold deli cuts BANH MI GA I get this one a lot when I am having guests over, and just need a bunch of sandwiches to cut in half and leave out. It's easy to eat and my guests absolutely love the chicken. BANH UOT CHA LUA I can't find this in a lot of places, usually have to request for someone to make it at home. I always buy one or two of these in the to go section, and get extra crunchy fried onions from Trader Joe's to sprinkle on top

I came here on a Sunday afternoon during off hours and it was great. Located in a non-descript strip mall, this place offers much more than their name suggests. Although sandwiches are definitely their main offering, they have a glass fridge with other Vietnamese food and a heated buffet display where you can get pastries, etc. I had the meat sandwich (#1) and it was great. I was able to eat there at one of their two tables in the main lobby area. The bread was crunchy and not heated, the meat was fresh and non-fatty, and the ratio of ingredients was perfect, making it not too messy to eat. I also got some banh cuons for the road which I ate later and was simple and excellent. You have to ask for the fish sauce though, but they will give it to you. Also a $5 minimum for credit cards.

The space is small but has all the goodness. Bánh mì has just enough meats and veggies. The bread itself is fresh. We also got some snacks and loved it all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place for their vietnamese sandwiches (banh mi) which are $3 each if you get the bbq pork. Very inexpensive but deliciously filling. We got 6 banh mi for $15! Its a great combination of veggies and meat all wrapped up in a fresh crunchy french roll. If youre on the go and planning on eating the sandwiches later, ask for the toppings on the side to assemble it later. I put the bread in the oven to get it crunchy and then add my toppings. I love the lightly pickled carrots and radishes. If you buy 5, you get one free. Great for large groups and fast service!

Perfectly crispy bread, just the right amount of veggies to meat ratio, the sandwiches at Huy's sandwich are always a must when I'm in town. I had their bbq pork and the pork was charred and had the yummy sweet and Smokey flavor to it. Their Vietnamese eye coffee is also on point.

This used to be my place since it close to home but it getting out of hand on prices, cmon 7 for a normal banh mi that isn't that good compared to Quoc huong!

My first time here, and the picture can speak for itself. The veggies were ordered on the side, but that does not explain the lack of quality and quantity that a traditional "banh mi dac biet" should have. You get one slice of salami, ham, and a crumb of roast red pork. It does not cover the whole sandwich, so if you want a full sandwich, don't order from the visual menu; the picture does not reflect the sandwich.

Been going to Huy's Sandwiches for several years now. It's been widely known by the Vietnamese community that banh mi everywhere is $3/ea (dine in restaurants charge more but nobody orders them there anyways) and Buy 5 Get 1 free. They, and many others have used the coronavirus pandemic as a reason to raise prices. I could sympathize with a price jump of $3 to $3.50, $4.00, but their banh mi is now $5/ea. It seems very greedy of them to exploit the situation like this. I'm sure over the coming months they will continue to lose business once the community catches wind of the price increase.

We never leave this spot with less than 24 sandwiches as allll of our friends and family in Birmingham request some when we are in Atlanta for the day! We get them with all the veggies packed separate so nothing gets soggy on the drive home. Had never failed to be a hit with everyone! Love Huy's!!!!

I order 10 banh mi for 55.00$. And, I specially asked for 6 Thit , 2 xieu mai Cha & 2 Thit nuong. They made the order of xieu mai Cha wrong, they made ga & cha. And, they gave such a little meat for that price of $5.50 each. Not going to order them again. Also, I asked them to toast the bread & they didn't.....!!!

Ver-huy yummy banh mi's!! ..omg such a bad pun. Tried out this spot since it's close to Hong Kong market. Was craving a morning banh mi and cafe spa da. Oh wow, Huy did not disappoint. This hole in the wall is in a plaza and definitely not a place I would notice off the bat. But you should definitely make a stop here. The sandwiches were light, perfectly crisp and the ratio of meat to veggie combo was spot on! The perfect Banh mi has to have the right amount of pate and butter/mayo too so it won't overpower the meat but also won't be nonexistent. If you are looking for a spot to please your Viet family/friends, this is the place to go. Probably do to go since there's not many tables and it's more of a pick up spot. They also have other options besides sandwiches but definitely get the sandwiches no matter what else you get.

I'm always down to trying different Vietnamese restaurants. I've heard very good things about Huy's Sandwich having some of the best banh mi in town. So for our cheap Sunday lunch, we decided to give Huy's a try. Buy 5 get 1 free! They take credit card for orders over $5. It was 1pm and they ran out of BBQ pork. What. So my original order of BBQ pork and dac biet (including BBQ pork) completely fell through. They replaced the BBQ pork with grilled pork, which turned out pretty tasty. I might actually prefer grilled pork to BBQ pork now. There was a pretty amazing meat to bread/veggie ratio. Each bite was chock full of meat! Drinks are $3.75, from Thai tea to a fruit shake. So I turned it down... I can get cheaper elsewhere. But I couldn't stop gazing at the Thai tea picture on the wall. They sell the ingredients that they use in a fridge nearby, which I thought was pretty cool. Now we know how their butter/mayo is made!! Huy's Sandwich reminds me of VN tofu, how the layout of a market surrounds the banh mi counter. But one thing really pissed me off: charging us $1 for three cups of iced tap water? I don't even get charged for water at the fanciest restaurants of Atlanta. I would understand if it were bottled water... But it's just tap water. And the fact that they told us after we asked for water, that it would cost $1... Overall, I think I might prefer Quoc Huong banh mi, who still stands as number one in my book. But Huy's has got to be number two, for sure. That grilled pork though... On point.

Excellent banh mi especially the pork one but not so much of the price. I think it cost $5 now? Or $6? Either way, the banh mi is different (I suspect that is due to the shallot they put in) and tasty. Hopefully they would reduce the price or else I wouldn't comeback. Sad that they exploiting people during Covid-19.

I had a vegetable Bahn Mi here and it was so good and the veggies were with the right amount of crunch . The jalapeños could have been a bit spicier

It used to be a good place for affordable sandwiches. Now it's too pricey. I noticed the sandwich itself decreases in size. The customer service is okay (and horrible during busy times). People spoke Vietnamese and cut the line (even though I am Viet... I hate it). Of course, the staffs oversaw that and took that person's order. Foods besides the sandwiches are good but basic. I hope the owner can read this and make the restaurant better like during its peak.

I am only rating this on my dads experience since they had the chay Banh mi listed by said they don't have anymore veggie, really? Grab some tofu and normal pickle garnishes. My dad had the bbq pork and loved it, he said the meat was tender and flavorful. They didn't skimp out and the meat complemented the picked veg. It's definitely a small place without much ambiance but tasty food. $3 for the sandwiches and you can't go wrong with that No vegetarian Banh mi, boo. I don't go to VN tofu anymore since the sandwiches are getting worse and worse. Still in the hunt for a new Banh mi.

If you are looking for Bahn mi in the Atlanta area look no further, this place has hands down the best Bahn mi out of numerous places that I tried. The pork is well seasoned and flavorful too, my only critic would be for them to add more pork and topping to the Bahn mi, the customers would greatly appreciate it. An honest hidden gem located right behind QuikTrip and near the always busy Oakbrook Square Shopping Center. Unlike most Banh Mi places in Atlanta, the sandwiches here are relatively smaller, but man are they great! The Banh Mi Nem Nuong (grilled cured pork), Xiu Mai (meatball) and Ga (chicken) are something you definitely must try!

Lee's Bakery, Quoc Huong, Viet Tofu, and VN Tofu all make tasty banh mis (Vietnamese sandwiches), but I think Huy's wins, by a hair, for best bahn mi in the Atlanta area. Since opening in 2011, Huy's has consistently pumped out fresh, tasty, filling, and authentic banh mis. My favorite remains #16, the banh mi dac biet (or special combination). It's packed with ham, pate, head cheese, steamed pork, and roasted BBQ pork along with the typical banh mi accoutrements of cucumber, cilantro, jalapeno, carrots, and radish inside a thick French baguette. In Atlanta, Huy's banh mi is the biggest and the quality/freshness of the bread and sandwich ingredients seems to be the most consistent. Bahn mi prices are still $2.50 to $3.00 each, which is a good value. Discounts are offered for multiple orders. For a complete listing of all 16 banh mi types offered, please refer to my original review below. Aside from sandwiches, Huy's offers other foods and the selection continues to expand. This place is like a mini Viet Tofu or VN Tofu. You can find various prepackaged Vietnamese snacks and meals such as spring rolls, dumplings, and rice and noodle dishes. However, I have tried some of Huy's other drinks like the sugarcane juice and pennywort juice and they are delicious. If you want to complete your authentic Vietnamese eating experience, cap it off with one of those drinks. There's now limited seating inside. Unfortunately, it's only two small tables for four. This place remains primarily a take-out joint. Credit card minimum is $5. If you're a fan of Lee's and Quoc Huong, give Huy's a try. You may be surprised.

One of the best bahn mi ever, after Bahn Mi Ba Le in OAK of course. Cheap, good, and filling. Woohoo! As good as it gets!

Great food for super cheap. When its Jan 1st and every single brunch place in ATL is an hour plus wait this was a great quick meal. I got a steam bun, 3 huge shrimp spring rolls, a coconut water and 2 Bahn mi's for $15. More than enough food for 2 people. The steam bun was a breakfast version, not my favorite, but I'm sure the normal ones are lovely. The bun was so luscious in consistency. The spring rolls were pre-made, but the rice paper still had the right texture. That little bit of mint put them over the top. I guess i'd say 4 out of 5 on the bahn mi. The baguette was great, but not quite as crispy and crunch as what I'm used to, maybe this was better and my opinion is just wrong. Who knows. Number 9 was the pork one and what seemed to be the most popular, so that is what I got. I think I may get a little more adventurous next time. I'll be back.

I ordered a chicken Banh mi which cost about 3$. Service was pretty quick and this place was pretty packed with families coming and going with orders. Banh mi was okay, had more bread than actual toppings. They offer more than just Banh mi/ sandwiches at Huy's. They had Vietnamese sweets and pastries as well.

I'd heard Vietnamese sandwiches were the best so I went where Vietnamese eat so I could be certain I was getting to taste an authentic one. This is a busy little place and they make sandwiches fresh to order. It took about 10 minutes. The place reminds me of a deli in style. There are a couple of tables inside but they are mostly shared tables with patrons waiting for takeout orders. There are a few tables outside but you'll be in the sun. Probably take out is best. It's a sandwich you could eat while standing if needed. I had the grilled pork Bahn Mi #9 and it was incredible! The sandwich bread is like the most wonderful baguette; crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The meat is tender and they add plenty of fresh vegetables. This is NOT fast food so if you're in a big hurry, just pull into McDonald's and be done with it. If you want good food, made fresh, you'll be glad you waited. I'll be back!

Been meaning to come here for awhile now and finally had the chance to over the weekend. The space inside is quite large but it looks like two stores occupy the same large space and a partial wall that separates the two. For a decent space space there was not enough seating areas. There were two square tables with 4 chairs each and that was it inside. They did have two small patio tables in the front of the store. The menu is displayed above on the wall over the main counter. They have a pretty large variety of sandwiches they offer. One was taken off, the shrimp bahnmi. Our sandwiches came put pretty fast but noticed the fillings in the sandwiches were bit on the less side. I love bahnmi sandwiches and from other local establishments I noticed that they are more generous with the sandwich filling. Here the ratio between the bread and meet/vegetable was not consistent. The bread tasted pretty good though. The grilled pork bahnmi I ordered (#9) was pretty tasty as well. The ingredients tasted fresh. Wish it had a bit more of the spread and more vegetables and meat. Also, tried one of the big handmade dumplings they had individually wrapped and it was good. It had one boiled egg and a meat filling. I really liked it. Wish there was a sauce that went with it. They also offer a good variety of canned sodas and bottled drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful. If I'm in the area I would make a stop. I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to come here if I was across town.

OMG today I just bought a box of bao(banh bao) 4 of them in 1 clear box . At first looking them is so pretty but when I got home , I can believe the meat inside of cake was so salty . We can't eat them at all The quality of food was so bad and we won't come back there anymore We are strongly recommend to whoever wanna to buy anything from that fast food store just thinking clearly before buy them

Before reading, I wanted to note that I usually only write nice reviews, but Huy's really disappointed me. Yelp saying one star = "eek! methinks not" is right. Huy's is offering a buy five, get one free, which is typical of vietnamese stores. My family and I were already full from the event next door, so we saved the banh mi for the next day (today). I warmed one up, and upon looking inside, there was a major lack of meat, maybe 50% of what there normally is. I added the cilantro, cucumber, etc. When I tasted it, the meat was dry, the pickled veg had a mildly odd taste, and part of the bread immediately got hard/stale. Basically, it did not taste fresh. I noticed other reviews about how this place is their favorite, so I am not sure if we were just unlucky. Given the changes in consistency though and that we didn't come so late in the day, I would not come back. Sorry Huy's.

I stopped by Huy's Sandwich around 6pm, so about 2 hours before the store closed. I'm not sure if it was the time I went but the #9, the grilled pork banh mi was only okay to me. The pork was good, but the bread was a miss for me, not just because of the texture at that time of day, but because of the taste. I think if you were to combine the pork from Huy's and baguette and veggies from Lee's, you would get the perfect banh mi. Lee's baguette was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely like try it again when I am back in Atlanta.

First time ever having a Banh mi sandwich/eating here and I am definitely a fan now! I had the number 9 and it was full of flavor. The bread was also some of the freshest bread I've had to date. With a lot of competition in the area, your hard earned money should definitely be spent here!

This is probably my favorite banh mi place in Atlanta. The meats are always fresh and the pickled veggies compliment all the cold cuts. A shmear of pate and a dash of soy sauce and it's perfection in a bun.

Hmm. Didn't knock my socks off. Parking is great. Huy's in a huge parking lot. I'm pretty sure you'll find a spot somehow. Even during rush hour. :D Space & Service: Tiny space inside. They won't survive a lunch rush. BUT I did see a lot of people do take out. Must be normal. Service is good. They hired a kid who can speak English as well. My food came out super fast. I think like 5 mins? Inside in general - I find it neat they layout their other foods (not Banh Mis) on tables for everyone to see. Why a 3: I did like their eggrolls. They were like...2 for 3 dollars? I can't remember, but I did grab the last ones. They must be popular. Taste wise, they were fine. Nothing too crazy. Banh Mi - I got the Grilled Pork and the Grilled BBQ Pork. Bread wise - super stale :( Not even warm at all & had no taste. I guess because to me Quoc Huang is so freaking good, I do compare their bread to others. Huy's follows a different path I suppose. Their bread just wasn't very good. Bread is a dealbreak for me, haha. As for the veggies - I couldn't taste the freshness in either of them. Just seemed they used day old stuff. As for the BBQ Pork - It had WAY too much BBQ Pork sauce. Not very appealing :( At the end of my meal - I was still full & pleased. Everything here is cheap. Can't really beat that. I'll come back again if I'm in the area. Currently, Norcross is still a hike for me...
