10 of the Best National Parks in Africa

"A premier destination for elephant viewing — more than 40,000 pachyderms reside within the park — this reserve near the Zimbabwe–Botswana border is where you can witness the "super herds," especially during the May-to-October dry season when elephants congregate around watering holes. The park also supports lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, and rhinos, and its proximity to Victoria Falls (and the international airport there) means you can combine a visit to the country's largest national park with the famous falls in a single trip." - Heather Richardson Heather Richardson Heather Richardson is a journalist based in Cape Town, South Africa. When is The Best Time of the Year to Go on Safari? - AFAR

"The country’s largest and oldest national park, famed for huge elephant herds and sizable lion prides; the dry winter months concentrate wildlife at waterholes and are ideal for game viewing, while summer rains transform the Ngamo Plains into a verdant ‘mini‑Serengeti’ with many animals giving birth and an influx of migrant bird species." - Richard Holmes

An amazing place to see all kinds of wild animals nearby. A large nature reserve with observation decks, wildlife viewing areas, and campsites. Hwange is home to the world's largest population of elephants, as well as buffalo, sable, roan antelope, giraffes, wildebeest, impala, gemsbok, hyenas, wild dogs, and more than 400 species of birds. Entrance to park is 40 euro per two people with car or you can always go for safari ride with group

What a great place, you will not miss elephants they are everywhere. Giraffes, lions, cheetahs, buffalos monkeys baboons and many other animal species inhabit this great span of the wild and usually time will fail you to travel across the entire park

This is a great park. Well worth a visit. We have been travelling through the Park for the last few days and there has been soo much wildlife and such a variety. The Park’s camps are terribly run down and I would not recommend but I guess the wildlife balances out the run down camps. The Park has been an absolute highlight for us. They have water reserves / water holes in the Park whilst you travel through and they are buzzing with soo much to see. Great place. Pity for the road at places but never as bad as Etosha roads. Definitely build this park into your travel itinerary, you will not be disappointed.

Very large national park with a wide variety of animals (except for rhinos i think), where you can drive around for days without seeing the same place twice. You can go in with your own car or with a guide.

We took a tour with Sable Sands and had a wonderful time, seeing lions, zebra, giraffe, antelope and many others. Came home with amazing pictures, so take a good digital camera if you have one.

We had a fantastic stay at Hwange on 7 June. They have upgraded most suites and are still busy with more renovations

Hwange National Park is a wonderful place for viewing African wildlife. Game drives in open vehicles are a treat for nature lovers.
