The Iowa Steak Fry Where 2020 Democratic Presidential Candidates Converge | Eater

"A Des Moines–based supermarket chain with multibillion-dollar annual sales that was tapped to supply the modern cookout’s meals: thousands of 8-ounce strip-loin steaks sourced from South Dakota, hundreds of chicken breasts from Nebraska, and several hundred plant-based black-bean patties. Meals are portioned and served from a central food tent with traditional sides (baked beans, potato salad, bread), while food trucks offering ice cream, pastries, and local craft beer flank the main serving area, reflecting the retailer’s role as the event’s primary food partner and logistical backbone." - Gary He

This is by far the finest hyvee i have frequented. The store was very well maintained. The produce section was immaculate and beautiful kept. The produce were aligned and look amazing. The isles were not cluttered. Unlike other grocers, this hyvee did not over stock the isles. The staff were super friendly and courteous. The Nori sushi was amazing and affordable. They fresh hychi was delicious and good healthy serving. I highly recommend this location.

I went to the Market Grill this morning 07/25/25 for the $5.00 Breakfast. I ordered eggs scrambled soft ,baco, and pancakes, the server brought me eggs that was almost dry , meaning they were well over cooked, what I don't get is the cook is supposed to be a cook meaning they should know what soft scrambled eggs are and as well as the server should know as well but these eggs seem to have made it past both of them. That comes from not caring about the food you're serving. You can teach people how to cook and serve but you can't teach them care , either you do or you don't, that's something you come in the door with. I took a picture of the eggs but I don't see where I can post them . True enough the meal was $5.00 but I paid the money why I can't get what I ordered? That's all

Very disappointed, for the second time I'm ordering for a delivery for my daughter that has her hands full HyVee can't stock to save their life. A basic item such as boneless skinless chicken breast they are out of stock again!! I will be shopping elsewhere from now on.

Forces me to use normal cashiers to checkout vs letting me use self check out (more than 12 items I guess?) So I get to wait in line for one of two (of 10 registers) that are even open while nobody is using the self checkout? Sucks too, I usually stop here for a quick grocery trip during my lunches. Usually I'm in and out but I guess I'll find somewhere more convenient for my needs

This review is about an employee not the store. I used to drive up/pick up my groceries every Sunday for a long time. During those years I met an employee who’s now a manager. He took care of me every Sunday. Knew my dogs by name always had biscuits ready for them and never missed a beat saying hi to me and over time got to know each other some. Now I get them delivered due to health issues but Brock still takes care of me. When one of my dogs passed last year he was one of the first people I saw and my other dog saw. As always he had two biscuits ready and after asking where I was the previous weekend he caught on pretty fast that I lost one. Actually more than one over a few months. This year if I call or my order comes through he’s always there to help and now my dad is stage 4 liver failure. Brock has been helping me when I need to move delivery times or just calls to let me know he got my order and check in asking about dad. Last week he literally brought tears to my eyes with his kind words. I have no idea where hy vee found this gem but that’s well beyond great customer service. He’s now a friend and comfort in hard times. He deserves a raise, another week of PTO, and a new car lol! He’s truly incredible and always a joy to hear his voice! Brock is a manager at Altoona Hy Vee and they’re lucky to have him!

The curbside pickup at this Hy-Vee is great. The communication about my order was above the competition. The service experience at pick up was fast and friendly. Highly recommend

Yelp
Horrible customer service. During the holiday time as well. Mean old lady came up when I was simply asking a question, shit me down, and ruined my day in front of the whole store. Causing an unnecessary scene, that did not even involve her.

Yelp
This Hy Vee has gone down hill lately. The staff is uninterested in helping customers. The grocery selection is poor most of the time. Too many times the food on the shelves is expired. I have spoken to the manager, however it continues. Bought a box of pasta on 3-2-23 and it expired on 2-23-23. Shouldn't be the customers responsibility for quality control. Going to Fareway from now on.

Yelp
From the moment you walk in you know your someplace special. Fresh produce brought in everyday, employees smiling and asking if you need any help is top notch. There deli is incredible and wether you will be cooking OR they have endless choices on already prepared meals that are delicious. There isn't anything they don't have. Love this store and employees.
