"What’s Hyatt Centric? It’s the mega-chain’s new youth-oriented boutique sub-brand, aimed at a population of travelers for whom Park Hyatts and Grand Hyatts are perhaps uncomfortably pricy, and regular old Hyatts are a one-way ticket to dullsville. These are people who aren’t afraid of a bit of modernist furniture and the occasional bold splash of color — a fact which is reflected in the Hyatt Centric South Beach’s interiors." - Tablet Hotels

This was our second stay at the Hyatt Centric, Miami Beach. The location is unbeatable. Further, the staff is top notch, in particular, Erasimo...the bellman. He was so friendly and very helpful the entire stay, providing information on various things to do for fun, as well as always smiling and greeting us with pleasant conversation whenever we saw him.||Anna, who works in the lobby restaurant was also great! She went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of and treated with kindness and hospitality. ||I highly recommend the Hyatt Centric, and it is the only hotel we will consider for any future visits to Miami Beach.

I was in town for one night and had an exceptional experience. Location was excellent, it was a very short walk to get to the beach. There is a parking garage across the street, so I didn't need to valet my car. Staff was exceptional, very friendly and welcoming.||||I am a World of Hyatt member and highly recommend this hotel and plan to return in the future.

The Hyatt Centric is in a great location, amd it looks beautiful. The service is good, the room was nice and modern looking. My kids loved the pool. They offer Chairs and towels for the beach, as well as Free Bicycles, make sure you check their schedule. The lobby and front desk is actually on the 3rd floor of the hotel, the restaurant and pool are located their also. Pool times is from 7am-8pm

Really nice place, good location. We have stayed here for the last few years on vacation. Within a 5-minute walk, you could pass 50 places to eat all around: CVS, Walgreens, souvenir shops, ROSS, and a liquor store. One of my favorite places to vacation. The Hyatt is always clean. Big Plus!!

Google
I had such a phenomenal experience staying there! The staff was absolutely so kind, especially Shanika! She went above and beyond to ensure that I had a comfortable and amazing time there! I would definitely give her a promotion if I was part of the leadership there because she is definitely someone who is at the heart of ensuring the hotel runs well. Aside from that, the hotel was walking distance from the beach and so many nice restaurants. Very clean and luxurious with a wonderful view. 10/10 experience! Did not want for anything

Google
All the staff is friendly and helpful, this hotel has a convenient location near to visit many places by walking even the beach. The hotel's operation needs improvement in several areas. The housekeeping staff should be instructed to pay more attention to the pool, which has a hard yellow coating of some kind of grease on its four edges around the wall area. This is aesthetically displeasing and should be cleaned more thoroughly. In addition, the shower floor shows signs of mildew. To avoid this problem, it is recommended that the proper cleaning tools be used to remove the mold at least once a month. Maintenance is also required because the air conditioner was leaking water through the window and the wall connecting the bathroom to the bedroom.

Google
Stayed here for 3 nights! Even though it isn’t right ON the beach, the location is still outstanding! Short walk to Ocean Drive. Walking distance to lots of cool restaurants and bars, as well as CVS and Walgreens in case you need any essentials. If you’re renting a car, you have to park across the street in the garage for $20 a day. The hotel is also directly across the street from a Loews hotel. And the Loews hotel allows you to access their gym and private section of the beach. Check in and out were smooth and seamless and all the staff was very friendly

Google
I am currently having lunch with a guest at this resort and they shared an experience of a guest having three of their reservations canceled. Based on their research this hotel participates in a tactic of advertising extremely low rates and then canceling the reservations increasing the rates and asking the guest to re-book, at triple the original price. It's 100% NOT unreasonable for a hotel to manage it's inventory and revenue as demand warrants but cancelling reservations because you were either unaware of higher expected demand, or forgetting to set the correct price, shouldn't be an excuse to cancel reservations already taken.||

Yelp
This was my first time staying at a Hyatt Centric, and I loved it! The hotel felt intimate and was on the smaller side--no more than 10 floors. The lobby is on the third floor and truly feels like a living room. It's so cozy, with a mix of low lighting and natural light. Even the check-in area looks like a host stand, for reference. The hotel restaurant is in the same space, featuring a bar and a handful of tables, plus patio seating. The outdoor pool is also on this floor. Now, the room. Comfy and cozy! I was surprised by how comfortable the bed was. The bathroom was nice, although the only thing I didn't love was that the shower head was positioned directly in the middle of the ceiling. Overall, a great stay and I'd definitely return!

Yelp
The hotel needs better management, maybe older employees that have more experience in hotel management. I see that's a theme in all the reviews. I requested early check-in, got an email the night before asking me to check in for my early check in indicating they knew my early arrival time. Because of an early flight I got to the hotel at 8am. I know early. The hotel didn't let me into my room until 4pm. They said they would call me when my room was ready, they never did. The lobby is on the 3rd floor. They said they would keep my luggage, the first time I returned to the hotel my luggage was unattended on the 1st floor. Later when my room was finally ready they said they would bring my luggage up to my room, I said oh hell no, I'll wait right here for it. I'm glad I did because they didn't know where it was. Turns out it was unattended in another hallway near the lobby. They need an actual baggage room and a bellhop to tend to this full time, it's a small hotel, there's no reason why the bellhop can't be on top of this. I watched a lot of people leave their bags, so this is a big part of the hotel's job! The entrance to the hotel has yellow grid and yellow bumps on the sidewalk then the sliding front door entrance is slightly raised. None of this is convenient for someone rolling a suitcase!!! The front door locks at night which the hotel doesn't tell you when you check in. The toilet seat in your room indents inwards and doesn't cover the whole rim so you can feel the cold rim. Same with the handicap bathroom in the lobby which had poop on the wall but they took the time to fold the toilet paper. My peep hole in my room didn't close. The bathroom did have nice amenities, especially the makeup wipe. Wish the shower cap wasn't hidden. While the hotel is across the street from the beach, you can't cut through Loews so it's actually a long walk around. The room was large and spacious and had a nice few on a high floor. Next door is a Joe and the Juice. A block away is a Walgreens.

Yelp
This was a nice hotel for the purpose it served. Located near shopping and restaurants

Yelp
Friendly and helpful employees. Great location to walk to convention center and many restaurants. Breakfast was very good too

Yelp
Location is great not in the middle of the young spring break craziness but centrally located to have the best of both world and direct access to the beach! Great full bar too to unwind after flight. The room is small/average but great shower and security is top notch! Happy hour at lobby bar 3-7p Resort Fee 37 per day Free towel at Lowes chair rental beach area Beach chairs close at 6p sharp 37 for umbrella

Yelp
This hotel was so cute and fun! The staff was amazing and helpful and it's in a great location for anything you need in South Beach. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Not a fan of this hotel at all. This is an understaffed, limited service property with small rooms. If you want to use beach chairs or the fitness center, you have to mooch off of the Loews Hotel across the street. The bar is also unmanned for most of the day so you have to go somewhere else for a drink. Additionally, the pool on the third floor is deficient compared to other hotel pools in the area. Aside from these flaws with the hard product, the soft product was also not up to snuff. Cleaning service was spotty each day and you had to remind the front desk to clean your room. They have "free" bicycle rentals included with the resort fee but they were completely gone each morning. We were charged for breakfast even though it was included with our rate. All of these hiccups contributed to a subpar stay.

Yelp
Rooms were spacious, clean and it was very quiet. Once you check in, they provided a complementary glass of champagne. Employees at the front desk and bar were super nice and helpful!

Yelp
This hotel has a good location but is dated with terrible service and a fragrance pumped into the common areas with a terribly strong smell. Think of a grandma's overbearing perfume. The staff is on island time and fine misleading you about check in times. First they misrepresented when the room would be ready and extending the time 30 min for hours. Mind you the lobby was empty. Finally claiming that the check in time was a suggestion. Better hotels close by in every direction.
google avatar

Yelp
I booked a non refundable room on 7/21 around 7PM for 7/22 (4pm check in), because my AAA Travel Agent gave me incorrect flight information. On 7/22 at 9AM, AAA, Expedia and I called the Centric, explained the error and requested a refund. Hyatt Hotel Mgr France Desir refused to refund the $$$ cost of the room. Shame on Desir and Hyatt Hotels for terrible customer service. I have been a Hyatt customer for 30+ years and I will never stay again. Any company that shows such complete disregard for an innocent customer does not deserve my business or yours.

Yelp
The service was great. The room had a balcony and it was a beautiful view. The hotel is close to the mall and other restaurants.

Yelp
Horrible experience! This staff has to be one of the worst staff ive ever encountered! No one is nice, friendly or accommodating! I regret having to have had to stay here!

Yelp
First time staying at a Hyatt. I was Pleasantly surprised. the hotel is in a great location. It was clean and modern. Friendly staff. I got the standard room and it was spacious and had a city view. The only downside was no room service lol major bummer. They offer a complementary coffee in the room. They also charge a resort fee of $33 for water and towels. There is a restaurant in main lobby but it doesn't open until 3pm. The good news- there is a Joe and the juice right downstairs and plenty of restaurants on Collins Street.

Yelp
Great location, modern, and comfy. It wasn't clear that the hotel wasn't directly on the beach although it is a very short walk. The hotel doesn't provide beach chairs or umbrellas either. It's very close to places to eat and they also have a restaurant located on the premises. I would stay here again but it wouldn't be my first choice since there is no beach access.

Yelp
My wife and I are celebrating our 55th anniversary by taking a cruise sailing from Miami. We decided to spend a few days at Miami Beach before the cruise and we picked the Hyatt Centric at South Beach and we are happy we did. Before we arrived I contacted the hotel and asked if they could receive a carton of sundries, etc. that we would pick up on arrival. When we checked in the carton was waiting for us, along with a bottle of champagne, and Ghirardelli chocolates. Michell Guma, at the front desk, insisted on personally bringing up a fresh bucket of ice!!! The room was spacious, clean, and modern with a comfortable plush bed, and there was a long sitting area along the windows that accommodated all three suitcases. The city and water view was the best. We ventured across the street to the Lowe's and took advantage of the Hyatt's relationship to get two lounges and towels at the beach. Incidentally, the bathroom was modern, with rectangular sink and large dual shower with rain head and handheld shower. This hotel is around the corner from Lincoln Road, a short walk to the Botanical Gardens, the Beach, and Ocean Drive the hot night spot with restaurants, music and outdoor concerts. We saw and enjoyed it all. Book into this Hotel. It's perfect....Thank you to everyone at the hotel...

Yelp
Small and unassuming hotel. Close enough to walk to the excitement but far enough away that it's quiet. Room was very clean and well equipped. Check in was smooth and the front desk was helpful. The hotel is a block away from the beach you can use the beachfront at the Loews across the street, just show them your room key. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable hotel and not a sceney one the Hyatt is perfect.

Yelp
If I could give this hotel a negative rating, I absolutely would! I booked a king bed room and when I was checking in on line from the airport, noticed the switched me to an adaptive double queen room. I didn't complete my online check in and instead checked in at the lobby where after a bit of polite negotiation ( which should not have been necessary) they moved me to a "king" room. As I opened the door to the room, I noticed the door was stuck and was difficult to close, was another adaptive room, ( no big deal) with ONE solitary window with a ridiculous view. I thought to myself, no big deal, I'm not going to spend much time in my room and will chalk it up to a crowded hotel. Suddenly my door opened and it was a bellman with a couple who just left the room I was put in looking for something they left behind as they were moved to another room. I decided to visit the guy who checked me in to complain that he could have warned me about the room when making the switch. His wise ass response was I got "the lowest room on the totem pole" and they were completely booked so nowhere to put me. What am ass!!! I will never stay at a Hyatt hotel! This place is a dump!

Yelp
The room is a good size and bathroom is updated. The entrance is a bit weird, the lobby is on the 3rd floor. There is a resort fee but the front desk didn't mention the perks that were included. I visited for work but if I had known I would have taken advantage of it- I believe it was chairs and beach towels? The room service is via grub hub which is weird but many places to eat nearby in walking distance. Breakfast is available and delicious / fairly priced. It's very close to the shopping strip and beach but far enough to be quiet at night thankfully. I would ask for a room far away from the elevator if possible - it's pretty loud when people are walking / talking in the hallway at night.

Aaron D.

Yelp
I left a bunch of cash in my room on accident. like a whole bunch. they called me and made sure i got every penny. location service and room quality are all great. but the trustworthiness was next level.

Cam M.

Yelp
Small hotel pool on 3rd floor by the bar. 2 beach chairs/towels (no umbrella) a short walk to the beach at Lowes. Audible noise from nearby bars if on 2nd floor. Good location otherwise. Bathrooms have a weird frosted glass wall which means zero privacy in sound from the rest of the room. Overall 3.5. +location, beach access. -bathroom Valet $40

Yelp
My wife and I recently spent 9 nights, February 10-19th at the Hyatt Centric South Beach, Florida and highly recommend this hotel as it is so convenient to Lincoln Blvd (restaurants), Collins Avenue (shopping) and 1 block from the beach. The entire staff, from the general manager, front desk, bell service, bartender, etc... were very friendly, outgoing and assisted us from the time when we arrived till the day we left. We didn't want to leave but when we return to Miami, we will for sure stay at this Hyatt
google avatar

Yelp
Hotel was great. Rooms were not huge but the location and the price was well worth it. Staff was amazing and they were totally accommodating to our needs. The pool was perfect. Not crowded and a super chill vibe!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Dirty, located off of a side street. Drinks are $20 from a place that had me make my own drink since the bartender was busy. I didn't pick this place out so I'm not surprised at what my guest picked. Ugh

Yelp
Looking for a simple, but not dumpy, hotel not too far from the beach? Hyatt Centric is just what you are looking for! We were only in Miami Beach for one night and wanted a hotel that wasn't too expensive/extravagant and wasn't too high up on Collins Ave. We knew we did NOT want to stay in those low-rise, dumpy hotels across from the beach (the ones with the annoying restaurants below them). We found just what we were looking for! And beyond the basics of location, the hotel itself was clean, bright & modern. We thought our room was quite spacious and comfortable (it slept 4 of us).
google avatar

Yelp
Oh w great pain I have to give the Centric this review. Listen up management. What happened to the hot spot hotels like the Astor. Closed now. Hmmm Anyways. As u enter this resort ?? ( they call ) u find plants drying out leaves broken. What a mess ! For several night and during the day a set of black sock great u @ the street level. The major lobby is nice. But I think they are replacing w silk plants. Who does that in SoBE. Plants do well w just a little water. Anyways do ur self favor and stay @ the Lowe's if u want a resort. Then u can walk out to the Beach. Ok the positive was I got a free night. But that is a gimmick. The regular published rates are lower. I had a nice room w ocean view. But the walls so thin and for the two night s I could not sleep. I understand when I was young and up parting but I did it outside my room. Disclosure turn to the left and u can see a sliver of the ocean. Ok I understand it's covid. Several of the sanitizer s empty. No masks around. None. Then in the room issues w the basics such as toilet paper But @ least give us some toilet Paper. One role in the holder but the one that was in the primary holder ran out. Hyatt wake up @ $314 a night I anticipate a lot more. W tax etc. it more than $ 400 a night. Oh I know it in season. As a Globalist u get free water. Yup. Got it the first day. Done after that. The breakfast was ok and included. They indicated that I would be charged for extra for orange juice. Hhhmmmm ok. Wow. They really worked hard on getting me to return. So I'm coming back but I will work W my "Hyatt concierge to book me@ one of the unbound properties which the web site shows them as unavailable ?! Hmm so I called and they indicated they were open. I guess they are steering people towards this Centric Overall the staff @ the front desk : very helpful when I asked for a refund of the resort fees.

Yelp
We loved this hotel! It was very clean and the staff was AMAZING. They accommodated all of our needs. There is staff downstairs that will take your bags to the room and load them in the car. Oh, and the bartender is great.
google avatar

Tam B.

Yelp
I was very shocked at the condition of the hotel. It appears run down and lacks care. The furniture in the room was super worn and old. The restroom did not appear clean. We were not informed until we arrived that the restaurant was closed for lunch, dinner and room service. The only bright spot was the door man. He was super pleasant, professional, brought our things to the room and gave us wonderful recommendations on restaurants in the area.

Yelp
We were visiting Miami before going to Cuba . Decided to stay at this location because it was centrally located to Ocean Dr., restaurants and shops. Upon check in Abraham immediately took notice of my hotel status and upgraded our room. When he found out our stay was apart of my birthday trip, he had a bottle of champagne sent to my from from the entire staff! The best part of my stay was breakfast every staff member from Wanda, Carlos, Robert, Darell and Niko made us feel so welcomed each morning. They all shared priceless information with us about Miami, Cuba, Columbia (next trip) and New York. I can't thank this staff enough for their truly genuine hospitality. My room had an awesome view of ocean and city. Full stocked bar. The bed was very comfortable. Spacious shower with rainfall shower head and 2 large comfy robes! Julio also assisted us with our luggage and provided us with tourist information.
google avatar

Lindsey R.

Yelp
This Hyatt is nice but anyone can access the rooms via the elevator as there is no security or access key. The view is amazing and the location is ideal. The staff all seem confused and give unclear direction. For example one told us we could do an early check in at 1pm so we can back at 1pm and got three different stories and waited until after 4pm to actually check in. When it came to breakfast we were told Diamond members got complimentary room service for breakfast than later told that the bar served the breakfast for diamond...very frustrating Parking is $45 additional and the room rates are a bit high for the size and quality of the hotel.

Yelp
We had a great experience at this Hyatt. It's in Miami Beach and is close to the airport. I was exhausted, so it was good to arrive so quickly after we landed. The hotel is bright and the rooms are spacious. The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was really clean and the bed was comfortable. The layout of the front entrance is a little weird, but overall, this is a great choice when in MB.

Yelp
Reuben and his manager were very accommodating during my stay especially in getting a double bed room instead of a king sized bed which price line stuck me with. They were extremely prompt and called me when the room was ready at 130 pm instead of the regular 3 pm check in time. I was so relieved since it was so nice to have a complimentary bottle of Aquafina water in my robe while enjoying my upgrade to a ocean view room with two queen sized beds. Shower was very relaxing especially with the lemongrass scented shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap. Even though the room was small, it is very clean and definitely worth the price. What's even cooler is that two beach chairs at the Loews private beach are included with the hotel fee with towels! And access to their beach toys and yoga mats, but it is only available from 9 to 6pm so take advantage of this perk! Also Hyatt valet with in and out privileges is $40 per day but if you park in the public parking across the street, it is only $16 for 6-24 hours but no in and out privileges. I will definitely be back!

Shyanne S.

Yelp
Ming was the best! He was very helpful and friendly. This hotel better not ever let him go. As for the hotel itself very pleasant. Everyone there was wonderful. Everything was very clean.
google avatar

Sameer F.

Yelp
One elevator was not working Our room had a leak in it and we had kids living there Staff was great! Much cheaper and better serviced hotels out there Went to ask for some incentive but was just given half off the room stay and we were worried about our kids. The lobby was on the third floor ironically which makes the luggage hard to take up if you have elders with you.

Ifedinma O.

Yelp
This hotel is TERRIBLE. ZERO STARS. The rooms are small. There is NO good lighting in the entire room especially in the bathroom to do makeup. I did my makeup in the dark daily. The bedroom & bathroom design and layout is piss poor. There's no long mirror for guests to look in. There's NO ice machine on any floor of the hotel. You have to get ice from the bar which closes before midnight. They ran out of towels in the entire hotel. How is that even possible?! It took 3-4 hours to request for towels yesterday morning. Staying at a motel 6 would've been better than staying here. Worst stay by far. Would never recommend anyone to stay here. Absolutely appalling and despicable.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel during Florida SuperCon weekend here on Miami Beach at the MB Convention Center. (NOTE: Don't get the 4th floor room facing the other hotel next door. You won't be able to keep your curtains open since the other hotel's pool is at the same level as your room. So I had to keep the curtains closed at night.) I liked this hotel, but bottom line, they need security at night. Pros: - A block away from the beach, you can go the Lowe's (which is across the street of Collins Ave.) and use their private beach area. Its included in your hotel stay, but the front desk never told me just the door man who was extremely helpful and friendly. (NOTE: Front desk staff was helpful and friendly too but it would have been nice if they told me a small brief on all the amenities to my hotel stay.) - Modern and chic. My room was huge and had a great view of Collins Avenue. Furniture was stylish and so were the fixtures. Awesome views of the beach and city. - Hotel bicycles. Great to ride around town. They are located in the hotel lobby which is on the 3rd floor. - Pool is very nice! But its open from 8am to 8pm. Too bad it aint open till 10pm because its so cool at night with the blue lights on. - Bar. There is a nice small bar across the street from the hotel. I highly recommend. Cheap drinks and good atmosphere. (NOTE: I never tried the food or drinks at the bar inside the hotel.) - Staff. They were friendly and professional especially housekeeping. They cleaned up my room n gave me extra towels. - Small refrigerator. Its very small for drinks only but not much. Cons: - Bad entrance. Its a side entrance, and it is actually on 16th street and NOT...again NOT on Collins Ave even though the official hotel address is 1600 Collins. There is hardly any space except for 1 car spot in front, but there is a very small hotel parking garage for guests using valet. The door guy/valet is NOT there at night at all so good luck. Too bad they don't have a person on duty at night. There is only 1 guy and I think his hours are from 9am to 7pm. The entrance is so small and is extremely filthy at night. Each morning I would see tons of trash outside the outside doors. - Parking. There is NO hotel parking at all. There are two huge city parking lots, one across the street and the other next to it, for about $20 a night. - Traffic. There is so much traffic on the weekends on 16th street especially during the weekend nights. So if you are coming at night, then be prepared to double park and watch your car when you unload your luggage. In the daytime, its not bad especially since the door guy/valet will be there to help you. - Marijuana. I could smell marijuana here and there at this hotel especially some hotel guests smoking outside of the front entrance which is so small and others just smoking inside their hotel rooms and I can smell it in the hallway. - Street crime. I am a Miami Beach resident, and Collins Avenue is a shady area these days with some homeless and sketchy folks walking outside the hotel on Collins Avenue. I saw some street prostitutes walking up and down Collins Avenue by the hotel too. So be careful when walking on Collins Avenue and Washington Ave. - Security. There is no security at night by the front side entrance. None that I saw at all. It would be nice. I stayed from Friday to Sunday, and on Friday and Saturday nights, I didn't see any security at all or anyone wearing a security shirt at all. At 10pm, the front door closes and you must use your room key. Thankfully, I didn't lose it because I read the horror stories here. But while I was waiting for food both nights, I noticed some shady people around the front entrance and I don't know if they were hotel guests but they could come inside the lobby area of the 1st floor and could follow a guest into the elevator. BTW, if you don't have a room key the elevator will let you go the 3rd floor (which is the front desk) with no room key. - Room. Even though the room was big and modern. It wasn't useable like a typical room. Not enough wall outlets for chargers. At my bed, my girlfriend didn't have any outlets on her side of the bed but I had outlets on my side. Otherwise, the next outlet was in the bathroom. The modern bathroom shower is like in the middle of the room but its NOT see-thru at all. Its somewhat close to the bed, so it would be awkward if you were showering and your friend and you just know they're showing next to you. There is not enough room on the bathroom sink counter. Its very small, my girlfriend and I had so much toiletries between us that we didn't have room on the counter. The counter cabinet can't hold too many towels too so make sure to contact housekeeping for more towels. Plus not enough towel racks to hang your towels again except one in the toilet area n on the shower door. (NOTE: we had a king size bed in my room so maybe there are extra towel racks in the rooms with 2 beds.) The wall wardrobe cabinet was tiny

Yelp
The front desk (ok, more like a front kiosk) manager and workers are very kind and try very hard. The room looked recently updated and nice and clean and comfortba

Yelp
Great location right off of Collins Avenue. Check in was quick and easy. Valet parking was a bit of a mess but the attendants were very nice. There are only two elevators so be prepared to wait when trying to get to your floor. Rooms were small but clean. Beds were very comfortable but the pillows were not. Overall a good stay for a south beach hotel.

Yelp
We could not be happier with our stay at the Hyatt Centric on Collins in Miami Beach. The hotel has an excellent location and a cool vibe. All of the staff were very accommodating especially Ming "the man" who made sure we were well taken care of. A big shout out to James the manager who helped with a Fed-Ex mishap by letting me borrow his laptop charger. This is one of those places you want to go back to and I hope to do so soon. As for some comments about the pool - the pool is just fine. It is not Olympic size but we found it the perfect place to chill out after the beach.

Yelp
I am a Hyatt Diamond member and I am a fan of the brand. I've stayed in all levels: Hyatt Place, Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, and Park Hyatt but this was my first Hyatt Centric stay. It is a small, boutique style hotel and I guess because it is in South Beach the design and decor is very mid century modern (MCM). The entrance on the 1st floor is not where the lobby is. Lobby and check-in are on the 3rd floor. When I checked in, I was not acknowledged as a Diamond member and none of the Diamond amenities and benefits were explained. I had to prompt and ask about everything. I did ask about the amenity and was given a card with items to choose from. I requested a bottle of champagne if possible, in lieu of white wine, and fruit, since it was a special occasion (anniversary). The special occasion was not acknowledged whatsoever and the regular white wine and fruit was eventually delivered to the room. I did see a "Happy Birthday" plate of chocolates being delivered to another room so I know that's at least possible. I reached out to Hyatt Concierge via Twitter to share feedback about my check-in process and they replied promptly. I did receive an upgrade to a King Ocean View room, 1001, which several people told me is their favorite room in the hotel. The room was clean and new but I wouldn't say it's very spacious. The room has no where to put unpacked clothing, which didn't bother me as I don't generally unpack my suitcase, but if you are someone who does, it seems like this hotel does not provide drawers for that. The bathroom situation is only semi-private - meaning you can close a sliding frosted glass door for no visability, but the bathroom does not have solid walls that block it off from the room, there is open space at the top that allows sounds and smells to transfer. Deck 16, the restaurant, is also on the 3rd floor and we ate breakfast there daily (another Diamond benefit as this hotel does not have a lounge so breakfast is included). The food was delicious, I especially enjoyed the chorizo frittata. The service at Deck 16 was top notch. The servers working over Thanksgiving weekend were excellent: attentive and friendly. They also allowed me to store a personal item in the freezer which I was thankful for. Included in a resort fee (waived when booking on points) are bikes available for use so we took advantage of that and road around South Beach for a day. The hotel is not on the beach but across the street and beach access is provided via the Loews hotel directly in front of this Centric hotel. We parked at the parking garage across the street for $16/day no in and out. The hotel offers parking for $40/day with in and out privileges. I would like to see a greater attention to the little details like celebrating special occasions better acknowledged but It was a nice stay and I would return.

Yelp
Got a room that smelled like something literally died in the ventilation system, and the floors were wet and sticky. The staff was nice and moved us to another room on a different floor, but the new room had the same issues. The rest of the hotel was decent, but the rooms felt really gross. We couldn't wait to leave.

Yelp
Bringing the clan to Miami was exciting and the beach called our name. The hotel was located close to the airport yet we were tired of being in the air all day. After we had something to eat and dragged raced against Ferraris in our mid size SUV, we reached our destination and the troubles began. First, the hotel entrance is located in an awkward location with no main entrance. NOTHING denotes enter here so with a car full of tired kids this was vexing. I called and nobody answered the first couple of times. Once we reached the night clerk, he was curt and defensive to my questions. This hotel has no parking and so you park your car in the city lot that is $20 per night. As we walked away from the parking garage and walked to the entrance of the building, we had 5 youths look at us and walk toward us in a threatening way with my kids and wife not knowing how to address the event. We made it inside and you have to go to the 3rd floor to check in. The same night clerk I spoke with on the phone was kind of understanding when I explained to him about his lack of customer service and then we over heard him say to the customer behind us "well you don't have to stay here if you don't like our policy". We quickly noticed that Southwest Airlines had lied to us because this hotel is not connected to the beach. The beach is one block away. The beds are comfortable yet room is small for a family this size. The shower is A+ loved it. They have a mini fridge and enough bathroom supplies. These rooms are made for non families so for $340ish it was an ok price for three nights. The lack of parking, customer service, letting customers where to check in and size of rooms I'd say pass unless you are a couple and looking for the night life.

Yelp
Wow. Check in was supposed to be at 4pm. My room was not ready at 5:30PM along with three other guests. We were all very upset. We were told there was no linen available to change the beds. We compromised with supervisor by asking to be let into our room to place our bags in. We then left to enjoy the evening. When we returned at 11PM, THEY WERE JUST CHANGING OUR BEDS. No furniture or surfaces were sanitized as we sat in the room waiting as they changed the beds. Bathroom was not cleaned. Truly disappointed.

Yelp
The Hyatt Centric Hotel is conventely located next to Collins Ave and across the street from the South Beach boardwalk. This chic hotel has a little over 100 rooms with a really nice bathroom, a pool and chairs to layout and a super nice staff- shout-out to Nick! You also have access to the Lowe's Beach chairs and workout room. I'm a fan and will likely be back, thank you!

Yelp
The room are actually pretty nice, we were on the last floor and the view are quite nice with the glass wallon both sides of the room The cleaning staff is really nice The pool a little be disappointing, quite small with 10 chairs max to relax, fortunately you can go to the beach of the Loews hotel (transit included in the cost of your room) The real issue is the front desk, not very nice or helpful. I think I found the slowest guy I ever met both in his capacity to process information or execute anything

Yelp
My husband, Thomas and I had never been to Miami before, so we decided to take a few days of R&R and explore South Beach. From the moment we reached the check-in desk, until the moment when we left for the airport to return to Dallas, we had nothing short of 5-star service! Paula, the front desk agent, began our check-in with two complimentary glasses of the best Sangria this side of Spain! Her beautiful face and joyful demeanor added just the right touch as the first representative of our new home-away-from-home. Damian, the front desk supervisor, checked us in professionally and efficiently, all while giving us recco's of what to do and where to go. These two employees are fabulous! They love what they do and love meeting and interacting with new people and it shows in the excellent level of service they provide. Our room (#1009) and view was even more beautiful than what we'd hoped for. There was a wall of windows that overlooked Collins Ave that provided a breathtaking view of the ocean and beach (behind the Lowe's across the street). The view was gorgeous during the day and just as stunning at night when the lights of the city came on! So, we never pulled our curtains, awaking and sleeping to the beautiful sunrises and sunsets! There were times during our five-day stay, when we just wanted to chill. The Hyatt Centric's lobby and patio/pool provided just the spot to hang out. Whether it was the lovely inside alcove, playing chess with Thom or sitting out on the deck enjoying a bit of privacy with a great view, our chill time was greatly enhanced by the master-level skills of Rodney, our bartender/server! The Mojitos and Sangrias flowed, and after he got to know us a bit, he even created concoctions that never failed to please. We loved the choice of music that drifted throughout the lobby and entrance, and wish we could have shared the wonderful Spotify playlist! Thom and I have traveled to West Africa, the Caribbean, various cities in Europe and stayed in high-end chain hotels to smaller luxury boutiques. The Hyatt Centric sits right in the middle. It can certainly hold its own with the big boys and it definitely has its own flavor, if one prefers smaller boutique-type hotels. Thanks to everyone for a few days off the grid. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
OMG, I love this place! From the smell in the entrance to the modern rooms. Very new, modern and clean. I love the pool area and the happy hour every day is the bomb.com! So don't miss it! Everything is good on the menu. The breakfast is also good for continental buffet, we had it included in the stay. So not sure what the price/value is. Huge bonus is that you have access to the beach chairs and towels from the Loews which is the best hotel in Miami Beach. You literally have to only cross the street and use the public beach access to get to the beach. Don't walk through the Loews, they will not let you walk through... everything is so close that you do not need a car. Lincoln rd. Has a nice shopping mile, that you find a lot of big brand stores and nice restaurants to people watch;) Valet parking is way overpriced but that's everywhere in Miami Beach hotels.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel located along the beach but a few issues. Location 5/5: great area near the beach boardwalk and many restaurants Room 3/5: we had a suite on the 2nd floor. It was noisy! At night all we heard was bass, so it was very difficult to sleep. Would definitely recommend a higher level floor. Otherwise the room was great. Service 5/5: when the cable wasn't working one evening, they immediately sent a technician to fix it. Amenities 3/5: outside pool has limited lounge chairs. No beach access. So the hotel offers you the ability to use another hotel across the street which has beach access. If you are a Hyatt guest, this other hotel allows you to use their beach chairs but not their umbrella which costs $25! In the blazing Miami sun, it is a bonus but it's too expensive.
