LA’s Biggest Craft Beer Festival Is Coming to Long Beach This Summer | Eater LA

"Following successful union negotiations, workers at Long Beach’s Hyatt Centric — including housekeepers, cooks, front desk staff, stewards, and others — will now be paid between $22 and $25 per hour for non-tipped positions, as reported by the Long Beach Post." - Mona Holmes

We had a wonderful stay. The front desk was welcoming with a smile and quick check in. The beds are so COMFORTABLE!! The room was very clean and modern with a great layout. We stayed the night before our cruise. On our cruise we were in a suite which stated luxurious beds and bedding but after the bed at the Hyatt Centric Pike the bed on our cruise didn’t even compare. We will definitely stay again. Great walking distance to shopping and many good restaurant options.

We stayed in a king deluxe for two nights pre-cruise. We chose the Hyatt Centric The Pike for its location and proximity to the cruise terminal as well shopping, restaurants, and local attractions. We chose the king deluxe to have a little extra room with the seating area. It was perfect for us.|We experienced friendly staff and comfortable accommodations. We were extremely pleased to open the door to our room to a pleasant and refreshing fragrance. The decor and nautical theme throughout was nice. There were a few cosmetic flaws and wear and tear due to age, but none of them affected our stay.|The Marketplace was convenient where we had breakfast and purchased some snacks. As with most hotels, you’re going to pay a price for the convenience of those items.|It was a great stay and met all of our needs. We loved it and definitely recommend the Hyatt Centric The Pike.

Great location and very clean hotel. Great art and decor everywhere you look! Staff was very kind… greeted you every time you walked by. Can walk to many places. They will validate first couple hours of parking in garage.

We had a great 2 night trip. Rooms were spacious & updated. Very clean. All employees were professional & friendly. Would definitely come back here. Parking was less than most hotels because it is in the adjacent Pike parking garage, which was fine, no issues at all.

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric at The Pike in Long Beach and were disappointed with several things.|1. Lighting: The lighting in the room is terrible. There are only bright lights near the beds—no dimmer options. Worst of all, you have to actually get out of bed to turn the lights on or off.|2. TV placement: The large wall-mounted TV is positioned so awkwardly that you run into it with your head a lot.|3. No microwave: Surprising for a hotel in this price range.|4. Heating and cooling: The vent blows air directly over the bed, whether it’s hot or cold—very uncomfortable for sleeping and sinuses.|5. Bathroom ventilation: The bathroom fan is not adequate and doesn’t clear odors well.|6. Food options: The downstairs food area wasn’t good. In fact it was bad and overpriced.|7. Rooftop bar & pool: Cool atmosphere, but the drinks weren’t great—and cost $45 for two.|8. The best thing about this hotel is the bed and pillows—like absolute heaven. Extremely comfortable.|9. The aesthetics and décor are also beautiful and give a luxe vibe.|10. f you want a good breakfast, order delivery from The Breakfast Bar down the road through Uber Eats—it was excellent.||Overall, the hotel has style, but all the little issues add up. One and done for me.

Great stay - much better than anticipated. Rooms were clean and would definitely choose here over other options that are more standard in the area - had great character. Beautiful rooftop pool. Great upgrade for hyatt loyalist.

I stayed for one night and checked in on the app before arriving. I parked at the parking Pike parking garage right next to the hotel ($16/night). As soon as I arrived I was greeted by an attentive man at the front desk. I got my room key, headed up to my room, which was clean and quiet. The rain shower was amazing and had great water pressure. Bed and pillows were also very comfortable!

We stayed here for a friend’s wedding this weekend and had such a great experience! The staff was so friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the location couldn’t have been more convenient for everything we needed. It made the whole weekend even more enjoyable—highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

Yelp
Stayed for one night for a tournament at the convention center. I found the hotel clean and beautiful! When we checked in, we were given a free upgrade so that our little could have a bed instead of the sofa couch. Outstanding customer service in my opinion! The parking wasn't bad at all. Everything was so close and convenient as well. I was seriously impressed with our stay and would not hesitate to do it again in the future.

Yelp
We stayed here just one night because we were attending a wedding. It is pricey but the location is great. We could walk to the reception at Gladstones because we were so close. The room is a bit small and they really should get a regular door for the bathroom. It is just a barn door that slides, which doesn't offer much privacy when it comes to noise in the restroom. There's also no fan, which could be bad if you are staying there with someone else. The AC was fine. Black out curtains and bed were outstanding.- very snuggly. I got great zzzs. The TV was also good, except there's no way to connect and stream. The front desk was friendly and we got checked in quickly. They even have text messaging so I was able to communicate when I was arriving to make sure there was a room available as I needed a room before check- in time (which is way too late (4pm) IMO). Overall a very chic hotel.

Yelp
Stayed here for a one night staycation and had a wonderful time. As Hyatt discoverists, we got upgraded to a mini suite and everything was great - bed was super plush, cozy, and comfortable. Loved the spacious rain shower with excellent water pressure. Staff were so friendly and hospitable. The hotel was also walking distance to so many things. It was a perfect one night staycation. Long Beach has really come a long way from years ago!

Yelp
Great location at Pike Place! Walking distance to shopping, food, drinks, beach, and shoreline! Clean and big room with a very comfortable bed. If you get late night munchies, there is a small store in the hotel lobby to buy snacks. Our room in particular had a noise coming from the vent, which had been fixed.

Yelp
Came here from SD to have a weekend getaway. Our stay here was such a pleasant surprise! It's clean, quiet, and has a really charming nautical theme with beautiful deep blue tones throughout. The atmosphere feels relaxing and upscale without being stuffy. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the beds were super comfortable, but the pillows could have been softer. You have a great view from the roof top pool /bar area however the bar never opened when we were there. The location couldn't be better tho, you can easily walk to shops, restaurants, the beach, and even the Queen Mary is a short drive. Overall, a great stay and I'd absolutely come back again!

Yelp
This is a great location if you are going to the convention center, only about 2 blocks away. Right next to the Pike outlet mall, which can get pretty busy. It was pretty noisy over the weekend. They were having some issues with one of the elevators so it took a long time to get an elevator. Almost got stuck on the elevator one night. The room was nice but the beds had lights on the bed frame that had a motion sensor. It's a nice feature for getting up in the dark but it's extremely sensitive so several times I rolled over in bed and it went off and the light from the bed next to me was shining in my face. The restaurant is good, had breakfast a couple of times there.

Yelp
Top notch stay during 4th of July weekend. Even though hotel seemed fully booked given activity at lobby, it was quiet in hallways and not at all noisy. The room we had on the 7th floor was flawless and clean, with a tasteful nautical themed design. We had a great view of the shopping mall and bay area. The windows opened slightly for fresh sea breezes and the bed was comfortable. The highlight though was the AMAZING bathroom and overhead shower! It was so delightful to shower and feels like years since I've had such forceful water pressure at a hotel. We had a great visit and would most definitely come back. Terrific location near all the action but in calm area.

Yelp
The view is the only thing worth going for. The bar was ok. The drinks were meh & WAY over priced.

Yelp
Hello! I just wanted to give a huge shoutout and KUDOS to Hyatt's (Area Corporate and Leisure Travel Sales Manager), Andrew Garcia, because he has been so helpful with accommodating 40% of our candidate lodging when they travel to Long Beach for interviews at the company I work for. He helps me chase down invoices, reaches out to me if he sees an issue with a booking PRIOR to them checking in, sends me invites to events happening at the hotel to inform candidates about, etc. Always goes above and beyond and I am really grateful for his help. Truly the best partnership I've ever had with a manager outside of my company

Yelp
10 out of 10 stay. We stood Saturday the 15th and rented out one of the day beds by the pool.....best decision ever. We were able to lounge pool side and treated like royalty by the rooftop bar staff. Strong drinks and good eats all afternoon until check in. The rooftop view was FANTASTIC, able to see the Ferris wheel and the Queen Mary. The WHOLE staff as a unit were AWESOME, I have never been treated so well and felt so welcome by such a friendly staff, from check in to check out every last one of the staff was well trained in the hospitality industry. Our room was clean and fresh and it had a very artsy feel to it, very impressed. And the long roomy shower was also a plus. I HIGHLY recommend a stay at the Centric and I also feel you should pay the extra fee for the day bed or cabana.....makes you feel like a big shot.

Yelp
Hyatt at Pike has it all. It is in a great location, close to shopping and the heart of Long Beach, and within walking distance of some decent restaurants (and a Starbucks). It's also within Uber/Lyft distance of the Long Beach region, so you get to enjoy Belmont Shores, a bit of Huntington Beach and some of Torrance if you do not have transportation or choose not to drive. And for those traveling via cruise, it is an ideal location -- and on the right side of the bay. The hotel doesn't offer its own parking. There is a paid parking lot across the street, so park in the loading zone out front to check in and unload. You have to pay every time you exit, and the cost for 24 hour is about $25. Note: There are several hotel options closer to the Port of Long Beach but if you want to enjoy some of the life before you head out on your cruise, that's not where you want to be. This side of the bay is where you want to be -- again, for the convenience I mentioned above. The king suite is comfortable enough. On the smaller size with no sections, however. So if you prefer some privacy from your room companion(s) while traveling, this is not the hotel for you. In-room amenities are sparse. You do get a mini cooler (not a fridge) and a coffee maker. But not micro and no kitchenettes here. You can, however, order a mini fridge -- which I did. But it was never delivered. The staff, however, is mostly attentive and accommodating. One surprise is that there is a bellhop here, and he is serious about the job! He will take the cart and load without you asking, and he must accompany you to your room. Old school traditional. Wasn't expecting that here, so be sure to have tip cash on the ready. Same with the restaurant and bar. You will be in good hands if you have a chance to be served by Richard. The restaurant is not full service, as in I would not plan a dinner here (though the breakfast menu has solid offerings). It's a great in-between place: a lounge before you go out on the town and a relaxing space if you don't want to spend time in your room, but would rather be mellow with a beverage and treat with a book. The pool (heated to about 85 degrees) is on the 8th floor, and has the best views. In fact, I don't believe there are any bay or ocean views from the rooms here. I requested one and was told that the construction as of late obstructs views. More on the pool: There is a shower, restrooms, cabanas (at no cost to use) and a pool bar (which was not open during the off season). As for costs -- it's pricey. It's Long Beach. It's California. Even with all the benefits, I cannot justify the cost, but it was a comfortable and very convenient stay.

Roberta K.

Yelp
Rooms are nice and bed is comfortable. The one star is for the staff, bartender at the market bar. They don't give you any information at check in about parking, their gym or restaurants in the area etc, as least they didn't do that for me. The lounge area was not a good experience as the bartender was over serving and then disappeared for a while. I would not stay here again.

Yelp
Best avocado toast I ever had. The way they tamed the red onion and very lightly tossed vinegarette with arugula on top of the yummy avocado toast was perfect. Highly recommend!!! Service very nice and good ambiance!

Yelp
We've stayed at The Centric Pike about 6 times. We've always had good experiences, but this time the employees seemed exceptional in their friendliness. From Darnell's personable and punny sense of humor at check-in (welcomed after the long drive), to the laid back welcoming vibe and creativity of Richard's and Alex's excellent cocktail mixes, to the general push the elevator buttons for us when our hands were full by a passing employee, to the thoughtfulness of holding cleaning trolleys when exiting room, to the door greeter opening the lobby door with a smile, a thank you for staying, and well wishes for a safe travel - EVERYONE was effortlessly friendly and welcoming. Our deluxe room was perfectly clean, comfortable, and very quiet and relaxing (admittedly that's just the luck of the draw with neighbors). Overall, an excellent experience for these repeat customers.

Yelp
Had a great stay for my daughter's bday. Thank you for the staff for making our first stay at the hotel memorable and fun. Walking distance to the aquarium and nice restaurants. Special thank you to Ray and Andre for taking care of us!

Yelp
I liked this hotel a lot. They let us check in early for $25 more. We got free late check out. The rooms were clean and modern. I liked the pool rooftop area. The best part was parking was only $16. It's in a good location near all the stores and close to the water. I would stay here again.

Yelp
Thank you Chris and David! I can't put into words how much it means, to not only me but every women out here, that there are people like Chris watching out for us. There was a situation that I wasn't aware of and Chris brought it to my attention and his way of going about it made me feel very safe and cared for. Thank you very much again!

Yelp
I recently stayed here for three nights while attending a conference in the area. This hotel is in an awesome spot right within a shopping area and easy access to walk around nearby. It's super close to the Convention Center. They don't have parking on-site but there is a parking lot right next door that you can utilize. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, though they do have a market in the lobby with a fair amount of options for purchase. The fitness center has just enough equipment to get a good workout in while out of town, including a water machine and cool towels. The rooms seem super updated and the bathroom is a great size.

Yelp
Nearby stores Place is close to everything . The room is okay , I prefer the regency next block though. Breakfast was not great and they seemed not to have enough staff and not getting our order accurately.

Yelp
Amazing service. Greeted with a smile every time we would come in. Emma checked us in and made us feel very at home. Great time will for sure come again.

Yelp
Needed to stay one night so we would not need to rush or worry about flight delays and/or cancellations. Our flight was delayed going to LGB and going back to SJCC. Bet folks are regretting terminating individuals that chose not to vaccinate their body, their choice! Anyway. This hotel is chic.. in the heart of a plaza filled w/ stores and restaurants. It's about a 12 min. drive from the airport. They have a very small fitness center; (it is great if you do cardio, but if you want to train, go to an actual gym instead). Though small, but very clean and equipped w/ damp towels to cool you down and water to hydrate you. You will need your room keycard to operate the elevator - adds an element of safety. After midnight (or 11PM PST), you will also need your room keycard to get into the hotel. If you ask for water, front desk will give you a complimentary bottled water. The service was excellent. The room was amazing. We loved room, but we were mainly impressed w/ the bathroom. It was spacious, well lit, loved the 2 shower heads available, and the Dry Bar hairdryer that they have to offer in each room. Definitely would recommend, however if you are sensitive to noise, don't stay here. Since you are in the plaza, you will hear people chatter and cars going in/out. We got there after 9PM, so the noise level wasn't a concern.

Yelp
Highlights: Soft pillow top bed! Cute decor that highlights the local area with a nautical theme. Rooftop pool had nice views. Watercraft, the adjoining restaurant, had good breakfast. Also located in an outlet mall, so lots of other options for food and shopping as well. Lowlights: Kid friendly. Kids filled the pool, and their screams also filled the hallway. But hey, this could be a highlight for you. Gym is small with old equipment. Parking is in the structure across the street, not affiliated with hotel. Up to $16 for 24 hours, but could be more if you move your car in/out. Not work friendly -- no comfortable desk/chair to work at. Couch in the room was old and sunken in. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again for work. But I would recommend it for a family with kids.

Yelp
I enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. When I booked it, I didn't realize it was so close to the shops and I appreciated it being so. The traffic wasn't busy and it was an half hour Uber ride from LAX. The check process was easy as I received an email and could click to check in. We just had to pick up our hotel cards at the front desk. It's good security as you need to beep your card to use the elevator. There's a water station by the elevators with cups so I found that handy. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The washroom was large with two sinks and a rain shower type shower head. The TV was big and temperature control was working well. The hotel has an outdoor seating area, computers, and two microwaves on the main floor by the washrooms. There's also a bar and cafe that serves baked goods, coffee drinks, and a basic menu items. I stopped by for a cookie and paid with cash and the cashier had to dig into her purse for change and ended up giving herself a 20% tip! I didn't say anything nor did I come back to buy anything. There is a Starbucks that's a short walk away with better service, prices and drinks. I'm glad we stayed here as it was a short ride to the cruise port and there was many restaurants, shops, and areas to walk that were close by.

Yelp
Love this hotel.... and it's roof top pool, i stayed for the 4th of July in hope of having a little staycation, with prime view of the fireworks. that is exactly what I got, my only regret is not booking a couple nights

Yelp
Always a great stay and time. From the Check-in, to the pool, to the gym, to the restaurant/market. Everyone is very attentive and accommodating. One of our go-tos when we're in LB! See you next weekend for the Grand Prix!

Yelp
Quick one night stay here after a wedding. Friendly staff and decent rooms. Staff was quick to help solve a few issues that we had at check in. The bar downstairs was great. Bartender was very friendly and high energy. We got espresso martinis and a gin gimlet. Simple drinks but done well. Would recommend staying here when visiting Long Beach. Hotel is in a shopping center and right off the water. Lots of good shopping and restaurants all walking distance.

Yelp
This is 3rd time we visit Hyatt Centic The Pike long beach. The hotel has a great location here located in the Pike shopping center, you can walk to downtown Long Beach and Shoreline Village. It's very convenient. They don't have a Valet parking, but there is The Pike parking structure next to the hotel, it's $16/day, $3/hour. Hotel room is great. The room is spacious and has a great taste of interior design with Long beach, the biggest shipping sea port features like the birds view of Long beach Port wall graphics. The temperature control is a digital touch screen which is cool. The bathroom is clean, but I don't like where they put the toilet paper hanger which it's hard for me to get the toilet paper. I don't see any other cups/glass besides 2 coffee disposable cups. I like how they design the room with the bed and sofa layout. The room colors are very nice with ocean blue, yellow and gray. The roof top swimming pool has a gorgeous view of Queen Mary and ocean. It is really relaxing to sit there and get a sun bath. Next to the lobby, they have Watercraft Market + Lounge where we get our breakfast items like egg muffins, coffee and fresh fruits. We really like the location of this hotel, rooftop swimming pool & bar and comfortable room.

Yelp
I gave this hotel a 3, the parking structure is across the street shared with the outlets.. hard to find parking. There is no Valet parking, there is no hot tub. The room is nice the bathroom door doesn't have a lock. Staff is friendly.. however there is outlets all around and we picked it here due to our trip to the Long Beach Aquarium.. Soo I couldn't give it a 5 star... not sure I'll be coming back here again.

Yelp
"I love staying here, but guest services can be challenging to deal with. I've found the staff to be often rude and unaccommodating, which detracts from an otherwise great experience. I always hope to see fresh, friendly faces who enjoy their work, but unfortunately, interactions with guest services can sometimes feel sassy and deliberately, you'd think with their sense of entitlement thru have some sort of relations to the owner or some sort of ownership but we all know that isn't the case. I hope whatever challenges they may be facing at home or with their family can be left behind so guests can enjoy the exceptional service this hotel is capable of delivering.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
An absolutely beautiful hotel that is well situated in downtown near public transportation and places to eat. I walked along the wharf to my conference in the mornings and swam in the rooftop pool at night. The rooms are well designed in the "ship" theme and have a comfortable couch as well as a bed. There's no views but with the water so close it feels unnecessary.
google avatar

Yelp
Just avoid. Pay the extra few dollars to stay at the real Hyatt around the corner or a different hotel altogether. This place feels like "hotel pop-up" that's lasted for years too long and has a revolving door of patronizing staff that have no business being in customer service, honestly. Lesson learned.

Yelp
Visit: 3/2022 Check In/Check Out: Frontdesk staff was polite during the entire process. This hotel does not have a parking attached to the hotel facility, so if you intend to bring your own vehicle, you have either the option to park at The Pike's parking garage for $20+/day with NO In/Out privileges or try your luck somewhere else. All meaningful downtown LBC attractions are within walking distance but you could always resort to an Uber/Lyft. Room: My favorite hotel properties are usually Hyatts (which I'm also a World of Hyatt member), but for this visit, at this property, I was not a fan of. The room was somewhat clean to my Hyatt standards at least. Some liquid stains on the table and some other peaves not common in Hyatt properties. I usually have a problem if the linens do not have that laundered smell (Yes, I do sniff the linens). Maybe the room wasn't occupied for a minute thus the smell went away? Perhaps. In my opinion, linen adapt to the original scent of the pillow or bed if that fresh laundered smell withers away which I felt was the case during this visit. This was "meh" for me. Amenities: (Did not experience) The property does have your standard amenities, but this location has a rooftop pool and an attached bar and lounge. I do not know if breakfast was free but I did notice a cashier at the attached Watercraft Market so I assume not. Overall: The location is prime! Just steps away from a movie theater and popular shopping outlets like Nike and H&M. Cross the street and you are at the Aquarium of the Pacific, Shoreline Aquatic Park and multiple popular restaurants like Bubba Gump, PF Chang's and Yardhouse. Would I go back? I would, but would look elsewhere first if I can find another reputable hotel if I can save at least $30 or more per day. I know Hyatt Centric can do better so I'll give them another chance to add another star should I book with them anew.

Yelp
The hotel is in a great location of downtown Long Beach. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants and food trucks. The beach is close and the aquarium. Short walk to the nightlife of pine.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night. I do think it's a bit pricey for what you get, especially on the weekends in the summer, but that's the market. The hotel itself is decent. The people working here are all friendly. There's no parking--the solution they recommend will ding you and you'll have to pay everytime you leave it. I just parked a mile away for free after dropping off my luggage. Near 11th street, but not everyone may be up for a 20 minute walk (but hey, weather's great, why not?) The room was nice and the bed was comfy/cozy. I do wish they had a few more thoughtful amenities like even some silverware handy, some bottles of water would be appreciated, but overall...a fine stay. The pool on the rooftop is nice, but I didn't stay there for too long.

Yelp
Business trip- picked Long Beach as I had to be in both LA and OC...... Let's go! - Do some research and make sure you are ok with the location (it is in the middle of "The Pike Outlets"); location-wise, this was ok by me....however, that may be a negative for you - One block across from the ocean, which was perfect as am a runner, so loved the scenery - Staff was super-friendly and welcoming - Nautical theme, which totally makes sense - I enjoyed my room; nice decor, great size (I was upgraded due to Hyatt status) which was helpful for working in the am - Please note that when I checked in, my upgrade included a view towards the ocean, and the staff told me that this isn't something that they are know for (views, based on the fact that they are in the middle of an outlet center) - Plenty of things to do/eat, etc. in walking distance - Always happy to have a single-cup coffee maker (to save me the trouble of running out of my room when I wake up) and happy to have a 'fridge for water, drinks - Pool area looks bigger (in pictures) than it is, and is rooftop (seems ok, however- not a hotel/place that I would be looking to sit outside and swim) - Nice "courtyard" area off the lobby to relax/sit outside/work - No valet (covid?) however self-parking garage literally right next door for $16/night) Overall, yes- I'd recommend this hotel....as mentioned (and will mention again), double-check the location and make sure it is ok for what you have in mind while staying in Long Beach.

Yelp
This is the best hotel to stay around Long Beach convention. It is not as big as the Hyatt Regency but it is more modern and newer and slick looking. There are many modern decoration around the hotel. Staffs are friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms for friends and us. We stay for a night and enjoy their pools and the Watercraft Market. It located at the heart of The Pike. The parking is literally right next to it. There is no Valet due to COVID. The Pike parking is only $16 per day. It cost $3.00 an hour up to $16 max. Everything around is walking distance. Outer layer near Ocean has lots of Food Trucks and there are some clothing stores in The Pike Outlet. If you walk North of Pine Ave there are a lot of restaurants to choice. If you walk south of it is the Shoreline Village and many other restaurants at the harbor. It is a great place to stay if you are in the area.

Yelp
We booked our hotel off of Hotels.com and the pictures the Hyatt supplied to Hotels.com is false compared to what we got. They have numerous different types of rooms under the king deluxe room. We came for our 10 year wedding anniversary and got to our room and it wasn't what was expected per what was booked and paid for. We called down to management and they apologized and said we are the first ever to call about photos on hotels.com. Compared to what we got. The manager Rachel offered us their cabana area for the pool to suffice for the incorrect photos and room option but it is 57 degrees we are not using the pool. They gave us $70 towards food and drinks and my husband and I had a breakfast sandwich, omelette and 2 coffees was $60! I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Yelp
GRACE IS AMAZING!!! She is outstanding in her customer service. She made sure we were comfortable and safe. She is the go to when staying here. For sure highly recommend this stay over any in Long Beach. Grace is owed a pay raise.

Yelp
Loved our stay. We got the king deluxe and it was with it. Nice big room facing the shops The room was clean, although the drain in the shower could use a little scrubbing. The pool area is small but they keep on top of it making sure everyone was safely enjoying themselves. Front desk is very helpful giving us directions to restaurants and providing extras that we needed. Perfect location right in middle of the Pike Outlets. Definitely will look into staying here again.

Yelp
Grace was extremely helpful, attentive, and joyful. She went above and beyond every time we interacted with her. If it were up to me, she would have a pay raise by tonight

Yelp
Great location, situated in the pike Place shopping area and surrounded by familiar named big chain restaurants. We picked this place because of the rooftop pool. It felt like a small-medium pool with swanky wooden floor, floating chairs and glass walls. Beautiful glass walls. Felt like a private pool area. Special! Regular rooms are standard, big bathrooms but no tub and beautiful lobby/bar area.

Yelp
The room was beautiful and comfortable. The staff at check in was great but the staff for check out was not so great. Comments were made between staff members about guests while still standing at the counter. It really made me sad to see that.

Yelp
This location is FABULOUS! We live in Long Beach and chose the Hyatt Centric at the Pike as our hotel to host our out-of-town guests for our wedding on the weekend of July 9th, 2022. We had a large number of rooms (~30) since a majority of our guests were coming in from NYC. We were absolutely blown away by the hospitality of the team from when we first reached out through our check-out. Katelyn Rogers, our event planning manager associated with Hyatt, was professional, responsive, helpful, and unfailingly pleasant to deal with. Coordinating with friends and family with a hotel block (no matter how much time you give them) is always a pain, but Katie truly made the experience as painless as possible. She even helped coordinate a bartender for the rooftop pool for Friday when she heard we hoped to have a pool party with our guests before our welcome event and sent two little bottles of sparkling to our cabana for us! Every single person who works at this hotel is truly a gem. Everyone was so thoughtful, kind, and helpful... it felt like we were the only guests! Every one of our wedding guests who stayed here (all of whom travel frequently) noted that they were just in love with the hotel, the service, and the area. The overall design of the hotel is really thoughtful, charming, and cool. As Long Beach locals we really enjoyed all of the nods to the city's port (done so tastefully!) and the hotel is immaculately clean. A note on cleanliness, as I was concerned reading some of the reviews- Long Beach is a CITY- however, I was shocked (the best way) with how clean and safe the Pike area is. I can't imagine a place that our out-of-town folks would have enjoyed more in the city. You won't find a cleaner or safer area of town. Yes, parking is paid... and it is directly across the street. It is very safe, and reasonably priced for the area, and the curbside luggage drop-off is super convenient. Do not hesitate to stay here- it is truly a diamond in the rough of the hotel scene here in Long Beach!

Yelp
Since its location is close to Shoreline Village where New Years Eve festivities were happening, my family and I made a stay here for one night to celebrate the New Year. We were a party of twelve and booked for two rooms and they accommodated us to have them right next each other. We did double beds and they were comfy and I liked that the decors are modern and simple. The downside on our experience is that the spacing inside is a little tight and on one of our bathrooms had discoloring on the floor, and that didn't look good. Also, the rooftop pool/lounge area was closed and that would've enhanced our stay for a good nights view on NYE. This Hyatt is a boutique hotel, so the rooms are smaller. The hotel lobby is nice, it's clean and spacious. It shares a multi level parking structure with the Pike Outlets. You'll love its location for shopping and a stroll down shoreline.

Yelp
HOT DAMN. With the opportunity to go to a conference for work in LA, I jumped at the idea of staying in Long Beach. Having booked this hotel for my boss previously, he highly recommended I stay here during my TDY and it was, hands down, an amazing spot. ++ The hotel itself sits within the Pike Outlets and is surrounded by all things cool! Shops, restaurants and the waterfront are extremely close, and totally walkable! Pike Ave, is a mere 2 blocks away which makes for the perfect way to explore! ++ Currently under renovation, the hotel is a bit in disarray, but is arranged nicely to hide the dust! My room was gorgeous, totally renovated featuring a large king bed, beautiful bathroom and a killer view of the palms and street! ++ Staff is amazing. I arrived late Monday night to a smiley staff awaiting my arrival. I was checked in within minutes, and shown to my killer room, offering bottled water or soda along the way - free of charge! ++ Valet parking is the way to go - as the outlet parking nearby is much more expensive, if you plan on driving elsewhere. For just $35/day, I was able to store the rental car, and could access it at anytime! ++ Although the pool was closed during my recent stay, I've heard amazing things - and that it's the perfect spot for a drink! ++ Room rates vary, but are 100% reasonable! Also worth noting - they offer military/government rates, AAA rates and additional discounts! Don't be afraid to ask! When in Long Beach, I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
My friend and I stayed there June 11th-12th and the customer service was awesome! There was a woman,"Patricia " who was absolutely so wonderful and she works in the restaurant. Also our suite was huge with robes in the closet. Thank you to the housekeeper who brought us up some extra bedding for the layout bed. We'll be back again.
