Dr Murphy’s Food Hall Has Closed | Eater Chicago

"A downtown hotel adjacent to the food hall that was expected to provide guest foot traffic but did not sufficiently direct patrons to the hall; instead, the hotel has attempted to open its own restaurant, and at times has operated without any on-site food and beverage, encouraging guests to dine on nearby streets." - Ashok Selvam

Great hotel. Clean very nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Great bathrooms quality Hyatt. Good price as well. The front desk attendants were incredibly rude. Really weird. They had no interest in answering any normal questions. Didn't look me in the eye once. It was very strange. I don't understand why they had such a horrible attitude. The cleaning staff was great. Front desk really needs management to take a look at how they communicate with guests.

Google
Fantastic hotel, staff, rooms, services and location. Very spacious rooms that are modernized and squeaky clean. This place looks like brand new. Staff were friendly, welcoming and gave us great restaurant and sightseeing tips. Great complimentary breakfast as well. 10 out of 10 in our opinion and I travel frequently for business. If you’re comparing this place to others and it’s only a few bucks more…it’s so worth it.

The hotel was clean and well||maintained. We were greeted upon arrival and check in was easy. I like the snacks available for purchase at then desk, but was surprised at how expensive they were. The fitness center was adequate and clean. My only complaints are that there were no washcloths in the bathroom and the water machine was empty when I used the fitness center in the morning.

Google
The hotel didn't meet my expectations at all. My first room had a loud buzzing noise the entire night 20 constant minutes then it would go low and build up for 10 minutes and then 20 constant minutes again. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly, the bed wasn't comfortable, but I did like the pillows. My second room was much better than the first, but the bathroom could have been cleaned a better. I ended up going to Target to get some cleaning stuff and clean the room myself. Having free water bottles available is great, and the staff was nice, but I wouldn't stay here again.

We had a great stay and loved the room, the cosy lounge area with fireplace, the front desk and lobby bar. Breakfast was good if not crowded but the vibe was great. The place was buzzing in the morning. Had a fun evening with guests and Vee at the bar after dinner at Legal Seafood right next door. Free parking and a great location for our 2 night Boston stay.

Hotel was clean, Staff was extremely nice, Wifi worked extremely well, Water pressure and temperature was AMAZING. You can smell the cleanness of the hotel room as soon as you stepped into the lobby and continued throughout the entire hotel. Towels dried well and was cleaned. Would stay again.

Google
Top notch staff. Rooms kept very well. Breakfast was better than expected - the bagels were NYC quality IMO. Hotel is located in a plaza that had a great restaurant, food options including Starbucks, Ben & Jerry's. Overall good location & great experience.

Google
This was our first time at this hotel. It's right off the highway, which was great. The lobby and breakfast reminded me of a high-end resort. Very fancy and lots of breakfast items. Daily room service when requested, otherwise, every other day. Management was good addressing a concern about the room, but we moved to another room, and it was great - very quiet. We had misplaced an item, which we never did hear back about. Front desk staff were friendly. This hotel has no pool, which was different from- google reviews prior to booking. The hotel is right next to a seafood restaurant, Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and a few other fast food restaurants. We loved Dave's Hot Chicken restaurant - wonderful yummy chicken.

Yelp
Double charged my credit card. Upon checkout, a lady told me to come over and said my credit card has been declined. I said that is a mistake. I believe you are charging me twice. Now I have proof they charged me twice on my credit card. Be careful. Room was below expectations.

Yelp
I stayed at this Hyatt for a long weekend with a large group of acquaintances for a wedding. We obtained a group discount, which I really appreciated, because the regular price for a room - in New England during leaf-peeping season - was more than I would want to pay. Cost aside, I appreciated a lot of the little things about this hotel that made the overall experience enjoyable. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but it has a large area to the right where you can seat for breakfast, and it's very good for a hotel breakfast (minus waffles, which is fine with me). Coffee and tea are available around the clock. If you want to stay local for lunch and dinner, there's a variety of restaurants within walking distance. At the front desk, they offer complimentary ice cream sandwiches, another nice perk. There's a small bar with a fun bartender. The liquor is limited, but they can make basic cocktails, and they have selections of beer and wine. Another nice touch in every room is the L-shaped corner sofa. The room was reasonably quiet, and the bed was comfortable, but light came into the room from under the door and above the shade. The parking lot is a nuisance. There are about a dozen spots immediately in front of the hotel (several are for handicap and some are reserved), and the rest are on the other side of the road you drive through the complex. The area in front of the hotel is large enough to accommodate several cars loading or unloading at the same time.

Yelp
Braintree is a great location to stay in when visiting Boston if you want space from the hustle bustle of Boston. It is conveniently located 20 minutes outside of downtown, Foxborough and the airport. I love all the free parking the hotel has to offer. It's located right next to a mall and Target. Right outside the lobby, there are a bunch of food spots like Dave's Hot Chicken, Qdoba and Ben & Jerry's - to name a few. (+) The rooms are very spacious, we expect nothing less from a Hyatt. We also were given a handicap room for some of our party, the room is basically the size of an apartment. (+) The gym has one working Peloton with downloaded classes which was great. (-) Dropping two stars because the customer service misses here. During breakfast, one of the workers was yelling at a couple of tween boys to move. (-) Front desk, the guy's name starts with a T...we stood in front of him for a few minutes and he ignored us. When he looked up from the laptop, we asked if he saw us or not and he's like yes I did. (-) The detail to cleanliness also misses the mark. Our shower had hair on the wall which was never cleaned. The floors throughout the weekend were sticky and the hallways reeked of rotting trash.

Yelp
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and comfortable. They serve free breakfast in the mornings with various selections like bagel, toast, cereal, oatmeal etc. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Yelp
Wow! I was surprised by some of the low posts here. I don't know if there's been a management change or what. We were so pleased with our stay. The staff is so friendly and professional. I need to give a shout out to Vienna! We got back to the hotel at 10:55 pm and I was starving. She walked over to Legal Seafood with me and begged them to let me order something. I got a wonderful spicy tuna roll. That you so much. Who does that?! Our Bartender Saturday night was awesome too. Really everyone was so friendly. Not what I expected coming to Boston. lol I would most definitely stay here again!

Yelp
This hotel is very conveniently located for things we need to do but it is quite dated and the cleaning staff do not do a great job. I have to agree with the other reviews. I think this is a popular hotel for youth sports teams cause the breakfast is super packed with kids and sports equipment. They often shut down breakfast 15 mins before 9:30am so make sure to get there early. It's not great but we do stay here every once in a while.

Yelp
We arrived at the hotel at 4pm on a Friday. We were part of a large group staying for a wedding in Boston that weekend. Upon getting to the front desk, we were told we would be unable to checkin due to electrical issues. The fire department was investigating the issue and would provide an update "soon". We immediately informed them we were party of the wedding group staying at the hotel and I visually saw them note that on their printed list of reservations for the day. The building was determined to be unfit for occupancy due to ongoing electrical issues preventing the fire and safety equipment from operating. To be abundantly clear, we have no issue with this. We would rather not stay in a hotel that is unsafe, and obviously they wouldn't intentionally cut power to their own building. Accidents happen. We waited in line at the front desk to be rebooked and again informed them that we were part of the wedding party staying at the hotel, though we were not able to book the hotel with the group code. A friend of ours who had a separate reservation was with us during this interaction and also had been unable to book with the group. We were assured that they had set aside 40 rooms at a hotel in Norwood for the wedding guests. They took our names, did some stuff on the computer, and told us we were all set. We can head to the front desk at the hotel in Norwood to checkin for the night. We again reiterated we were part of a wedding party staying at the hotel for a wedding the next day. We would need a room for two nights as check-in, check-out, and moving between hotels was not something possible in the middle of a wedding ceremony. They refused this request and said we would only be moved one night at a time, regardless of how long the hotel is shut down. We get to the hotel in Norwood to be told we aren't on the list and they do not have a room for us. In fact, they were only told to reserve 30 rooms, not the 40 needed. Fortunately our friend was able to check into their room, so this was not an issue of booking with the group code. I called the Hyatt 10 times and the phone was not answered and their voicemail box was full. It was now midnight, so we had no choice but to drive the hour home and try again in the morning. Our five calls the next morning were not answered either. We never even received a call back or an email. This was a similar story we heard from other guest as well. Just don't stay here, there are two Marriott properties within walking distance that are better suited for your business.

Yelp
I stayed overnight at this hotel, and upon entering my room, I was quite impressed. It was clean, modern, open, and quite large. I had a king size bed and a nice size sitting area with a sofa. Upon entering the room was ice cold. I don't mind air-conditioning but this was absolutely freezing. So I fiddled with the thermostat to get it down a bit, but it took quite a long time and I had to go out. Upon returning the room 2 hours later it was muggy and hot and I had only lowered the temperature three or 4°. So I upped it a little bit and about an hour later I was freezing again needless to say that keeping the thermostat at a comfortable temperature was a challenge that I never accomplished. The bed was a little bit hard for me but I guess doable for overnight, Not much to watch on television unless you want to pay for a movie. Just local channels that were quite boring. And I save the best for last... The toilet bowl is so low to the ground that it feels like you're squatting. I thought it was really uncomfortable. And even more so when you have to get up in the middle of the night. Not a fan of lowered toilet bowls. Would I stay here again? NO. I did not sleep well because of the hardness of the bed, freezing and sweating all night from having to adjust the thermostat, and having to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and squat. Not ideal.

Yelp
Stay here monthly while on business. My flight from Denver was delayed and I arrived in over an hour late. Got to the hotel and thought I would have a glass of wine at the bar. I was presented with a bill for $18 for a glass of Malbec from a bottle which cost $15. Price gouging at its worst. It would have been much less had I walked 30 seconds over to legal seafood. Next time I will bring my own. wine. Lest people think that it's the government hiking prices - no, it's greedy corporations like Hyatt that price gouge. Taking advantage of travelers, of faithful customers . Was unbelievable that with tip, I paid $20 for a glass of mediocre wine.

Yelp
Do YOU know the definition of the word "vacuum"? The Hyatt housekeeping department does not. They have one on every housekeeping cart, but you'll never hear one fired up. Don't believe me? LISTEN. Also, you have to request FROM THE HOUSEKEEPING STAFF if you want your room turned (minimally, not according to national hotel standards); if you ask the front desk, nothing will happen. Don't believe me? Try it: put a tip on the bed, leave for the day, and come back to your $20 bill still on the unmade bed.

Yelp
Been here many times in the past never any problem. First Post Covid Christmas vacation, this time around absolutely disgusting. First room we checked into, a pile of used towels and bath robe in the closet. Front desk service was good. Changed a new room for us, of the same floor (very thoughtful saving us the trouble of moving around with luggage's). Second room after we settled in, the following I found, didn't even have to look hard: 1)finally realize the thermostats is not working (and maintenance crew went home early due to Christmas Day. Unable to fix it so we were given extra blankets in case the room gets cold. They can only come the following day. 2)after taking a shower, one of the 3 towels on the rack (still have pubic hair on it) 3) 4 pillows, all the pillow cases still dirty (with hairs still on them) did they even change the pillow cases? It is really making us thinking twice before coming back ever again. If this is the corporate way of cutting cost to recuperate their financial loss from the pandemic it is very sad to say they lose my business forever.

Yelp
My stay at this hotel was pleasant. The rooms are spacious, quiet and comfortable. The checking in and checking out process was smooth. My room was clean. While it was cold when I entered, I adjusted the thermostat to make it much warmer, to my comfort level. My only disappointment was the advertised Resturaunt and Bar, The Placery, was inexplicably closed during the duration of my stay. If it was closed, it should have been reflected on both the signage in the hotel and on the website. Thankfully, there were places to eat and drink near by. The staff was helpful and the other patrons were pleasant. It is a good hotel for rest and relaxation. However, for another visit to Boston, I will stay at another similar hotel with a fully operational Resturaunt and Bar.

Yelp
We visited Boston for a wedding and we were advised to stay at the Hyatt Place Braintree, MA as a recommended place to stay. I was very impressed with the fact that it was not too far from Logan Airport in Boston and about 20 minutes from downtown Boston by Uber. The hotel is nice and clean. It offers a complementary breakfast which is pretty good. It has a workout room and the sufficient with our needs. The room itself is clean, spacious and accomodating. Staff is nice and they have maid service. The hotel is next door to a shopping mall which is within walking distance. It also offers a little mall that has several places to eat like TGI Fridays, a burrito restaurant, Starbucks, and a sandwich shop. Right next door is Legal Seafood Restaurant which is a very good seafood style restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Yelp
One of the worst experiences I've had in a hotel. 1. Upon check-in, there was only 1 person working. He seemed to be checking everyone in, answering phones and trying to help people at the 'bar'. 2. Toilet was clogged as soon as we got to the room. Tried to call the front desk but were unable to get through because there was only 1 guy working. Told him on our way out and he said it would be taken care of 3. We went to get dinner because there is no real restaurant on site (even though they advertise it). Then went out for an event. 5 hours later, the toilet was still clogged and the room did not smell great. 4. Finally got someone to the room. He gave us towels and walked away. He was nice but didn't speak English. Finally got him to come back and unclog the toilet. 5. The TV didn't work. Called the 1 guy at the front desk who said they were having technical difficulties. 6. Couldn't get the AC unit to decrease. Room was freezing. 7. 8 am false fire alarm that went off twice throughout the morning We come to Braintree regularly for an Irish sporting event. We usually stay at the Marriott and decided to try something different this time.. What a huge mistake.

Yelp
I was a guest here for a weekend course at Landmark. The service at this hotel was absolutely delightful! How about that hot breakfast?! It's definitely one, if not the best breakfast I've ever seen at a hotel/motel. I loved that there was fresh fruit, several dairy choices, hot breakfast items, and an Oatmeal bar. I really enjoyed the selection of dried fruits available. Breakfast was served and set up promptly. The attendants were very clean, and kind, and then there was the coffee and tea selection. Regular, decaf, and a thing of hot water for tea drinkers. I recall seeing juice dispensers as well. Don't fret if you're a quick bagel and run type, there were some of those too! Great place.

Dania S.

Yelp
I visit Boston once every 2-3 months. I have my go-to hotel but I decided to give this one a try based on location... totally not worth it. It was full of insects since day one. If you towel falls to the floor at night, you'll wake up to a little nest of bugs. It was ridiculous!!! They have a decent buffet in the morning and I got the impression that the staff does the best they can with what they have but I wouldn't stay here again. Poor experience and rooms don't look anything like the pics.

Yelp
Did you know that "Hotel" is etymologically similar to "Hospital"? This is a good thing, because the front desk clerk was nice to give me a bandaid after a small shaving accident. That's great service! Sharon and I stayed at the Hyatt Place during my first trip to Boston, and this has been my favorite hotel (including her two Miami visits) thus far. The room itself is about the size of a studio apartment and we had a view of the highway and famous Boston traffic. I'll just hold off a star because we didn't have a chance to try the pool. Room service was professional and well done, even coming in later when we overslept. Our bathroom was real clean, stocked with plenty of towels and perfect water temperature and pressure. The AC was freezing cold as well for me (Bae had plenty of blankets :) There are a couple of chain restaurants in the strip mall next to the hotel, though we stuck mostly to the Friday's for nightcaps and late night bites. I only had breakfast before my flight back and found the kitchen staff to be pleasant and the silverware (not paper plates!) clean. My coffee was strong, and the egg/cheese/bacon sandwich warm and not greasy. My waffle was also done right, with a little bit of syrup.

Yelp
I wish YELP had a negative star review option because I would be using it! Hilary at the front desk needs to find a new job that does not involve working with people. Customer Service is about problem solving, and Hilary was only interested in going out of her way to be rude and condescending. I tried to be nice and problem solve and she was only interested in cancelling my employees reservation and putting her out in the dark in an unfamiliar area to find a new hotel. Hilary (who is the front end manager by the way) has not been pleasant the last few times my employee has stayed there, but this was a new level of incompetence. Hilary is a definite liability to Hyatt. We are only one customer, but we will NEVER return to this hotel (unless Hilary moves on) and apologies and reparations made.

Catherine T.

Yelp
I was hesitant seeing some of the negative reviews here. But my stay at Hyatt Braintree was good. The king suite was spacious and clean. Bathroom could use some updating but shower and toilet worked fine. Online check in/out and digital key were great and had no issues. Breakfast had a good selection as well. Conveniently located with plenty of free parking. I would recommend this hotel for a no fuss stay.

Yelp
I was taken a summer cruise, leaving from Boston. After an exhausting search for a hotel conveniently located between train station and the cruise port, I found the Hyatt Place Boston/Braintree. Upon arriving at the hotel, with two young children and my mother I was greeted with nothing but smiles and accommodations. The check-in was quick and easy. I was informed about all the specials that was offered as well as given some great advice as to where to go to enjoy my stay in Boston. The next day we woke up and enjoyed the breakfast buffet that is available on the main floor for a minimal price but high quality. After breakfast we decided to take the advice the front concierge, both me and the children were off to the Museum of Science. We exited the building and got into one of the shuttles that were provided to the train station. On my way back I realized my phone was dying a few stops away from our final destination I called the hotel telling them my dilemma and to my surprise the shuttle was waiting for both me and my kids when we got off the train. I had a great time in Massachusetts and the Hyatt Place Boston/ Braintree was to thank.

Yelp
For the price I paid, this hotel was such a steal! The suite was big and included a fridge and a giant L shaped pull out sofa. Hotel was clean, service was friendly & welcoming (especially the maids they were the sweetest!), and location was perfect. It's literally across the street from a mall and Target which makes it very convenient!! They also offered free continental breakfast and every day they had different items. I came in the winter & stayed for 4 days when there was a snowstorm going on, but it wasn't much of a problem because they had the trucks clearing up the parking lot around the clock. Plenty of parking and it's in a safe area about 15-20min drive from the airport (learned the hard way they don't offer shuttle service to airport from the hotel). The bed was really comfy here, but walls a bit thin. The fridge actually worked perfect and kept our leftovers really cold/frozen LOL. If you need to microwave anything they have a microwave downstairs to use along w/ plates & utensils. I definitely will be staying here again my next visit to Boston. Something about it made me feel like I was at home.

Yelp
This its an ongoing review .... I still waiting from my deposit money back in my account, 7 days already is over. I called today and the receptionist very sweet, very nice, responded that I should ask my bank to call them, but the bank is not going to do it, bank doesn't do that because is not the bank responsibility to do so, it is Hyatt "Braintree" responsibility. The week before I was in this Hyatt, I was at Hyatt Place Medford, I had my money back the day after, I was at Hyatt in Hollywood, Fl I get my deposit the day after .....Please put my money back so I will write about the good things at that hotel. Thanks

Yelp
It's my first time doing business with Hyatt and the experience was horrible. I think it'll be my last time. I sensed there is something wrong with the corporate culture. They don't care about their customers. I booked two days in June and soon found that I couldn't make the trip. So I called (before the check-in date) to see if I could move the reservation to a later date. I was told by frontdesk that I could move the dates and don't have to worry about it. But when I called today (a month before my new check-in date) to confirm. I was told by a manager that my original reservation was not modifiable and it was too late to change it. Ridiculously, the frontdesk manager didn't trust me and asked me who I spoke to previously. I didn't end up staying in the hotel so couldn't comment on the service. Good luck if you decide to stay in Hyatt.

Jim H.

Yelp
Worse than 'Not Good.' My wife and I attempted a stay at the Hyatt Place Braintree while on vacation in late September of 2023. I say attempted, because we ended up leaving and booking a non-Hyatt hotel. Parking and check-in were no problem. We checked in late evening, grabbed a sandwich at a nearby restaurant and were just relaxing for a couple of hours. As I went to get ready for bed I discovered (fortunately without using it) that the toilet did not flush. I went to call the front desk and the phone in the room did not work. I went down to the front desk and the young man working was no help. He stated that there was no one else working that could help and that there were no other rooms available. He offered to bring up a plunger (for us to use, because he wasn't plunging the toilet), but after I returned to my room he never showed. He also claimed I threatened him (my words were something to the effect of 'we have a problem'), and threatened to call the police. My wife went down to try her luck and he had the plunger. While she was downstairs I tried Hyatt Corporate to see if they had a room available at a nearby hotel. They offered a room at the downtown Hyatt Regency but only if we paid close to $600 a night (the rooms we had booked were in the $200-$250 range). This was not an option so we packed up and booked a room at the adjacent Marriott (this ended up costing us more than $200 over the original booking). After trying to get in touch with the general manager for about a week we finally connected and he said what the front desk person told us was true about only having a single staff person working (the other person that was supposed to be working no-showed) and that they had no empty rooms. He said because his front desk person felt threatened there was nothing he could do for me other than offer a few loyalty points. Obviously based on this experience I will try to avoid using Hyatt Hotels in the future, so I told him not to worry. PS - The pool was closed with no notice when we booked.

Dan G.

Yelp
The photos and info on this hotel are not accurate. Pool has been closed for repairs for over 2 years. No property info in the rooms. No gift shop. A bottle of water is $3. Looks clean, but there are no guest services except a bed etc. The toilets are the lowest I have ever seen, be careful. If you have physical problems with getting up - stay somewhere else. The place reminds me of a storage unit. The bed was fine, nothing else to complain about because there is nothing here except rooms. Stayed in July 2021

Yelp
Yesterday we arrived at 3:30 pm to check into our room. We got our key cards, went upstairs, and settled in - nothing was amiss. Then at about 4:30 pm we went to a wedding down the road and stayed until about midnight. When we returned to the hotel, our key cards didn't work. We went down to the front desk and they told us that we were no longer in that room and, in fact, they had no room for us at all. Our room was already occupied by other guests! Our only notification of this problem was returning to the hotel and not being able to get back in our room. All of our belongings were behind the front desk, some in plastic bags. To top it off, they did *not* properly group or label our belongings - I had to ask them twice for missing items and once we arrived back home, we realized there were still items missing. They offered us NO solution to this problem. They just sent us on our way. Luckily for us, 1) we only live about an hour away and 2) I had stopped drinking early in the evening and was able to drive us. However, it was midnight (pitch black), it was raining, and I was exhausted from staying up until midnight, so driving home was difficult and stressful. Would not recommend staying here. They gave our room away and did nothing to notify us or even attempt to resolve this issue. If you're ok with being put out at midnight in the rain, though, this is the place for you!

Yelp
Bedbugs. Please save yourself from my anguish and do not come here. The beds have bedbugs.

Yelp
Horrible horrible stay at this hotel. Dirty surfaces in the room, stray hairs on the towels, mold smell in the room. Our first night the air conditioning was on full blast and wouldn't turn off. The second night the heat was uncontrollably blasting, making the room over 80 degrees. Front desk offered no help and told us to go back to our room and suffer. We stayed up all night sweating, with the door wide open trying to wave in the hallway air. Kids were drenched in sweat and feeling sick the whole next day. Hotel manager complained that she had to come in early to talk with me about the issue, then assured me she would call us before checking us out from the hotel system. Amaliah the manager then charged my card for the full stay and did not contact us. When I called the hotel to inquire they told me no manager was on duty because it's a holiday. Despicable. Do not go to this hotel!!

Yelp
I tried mightily to overlook the subpar accommodations but every corner I turned it was front & center. Hyatt has a strong rep in our family so I hope they take a closer look at this location before it hurts their brand. The hotel is dated. The rooms are dark and dank. The toiletries consisted of soap, shampoo and conditioner...couldn't even swing a little lotion. The comforter was stained as was the carpeting. The staff was hit or miss...housekeeping must learn that we can actually hear your conversations at 7 am. Inside voices should be standard training protocol. And to finish it off the elevators weren't in working order last night or this morning. I don't have a problem with carrying luggage down from the 5th floor but I can imagine others found it difficult. The front desk staff was kind as was the bellman. That's where the 3 stars deserve to be awarded.

Incredibly comfortable beds, and an excellent check in process. Gita was so kind and accommodating when we checked in, and went above and beyond. It's close to a number of restaurants, and it's a great place to stay! Seriously impressed.

Yelp
My husband and I spent three nights (Thurs., Fri., and Sat.) the last weekend of September. It is similar to many other hotels, but if I were to sum it up in one word, it would be "convenience." We didn't want to stay in an expensive downtown Boston hotel room so we booked Braintree. It was reasonably priced for the area and wasn't too far from the city center. We were thrilled to discover that they had a free shuttle service that would take us to the Quincy Adams train station and all we had to do on our return was to call them and they would pick us up. (During the week, the shuttle starts at around 8 or 9 am and stops around 10:30 or 11:00. Weekends the shuttle runs 11:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.) You can get an inexpensive or daily or a weekly train pass. Get the weekly if you are planning to stay two days or more. What is really cool is that there are a variety of food option within a few feet for the hotel's front door. They include, but aren't limited to a seafood restaurant, a Friday's, Starbucks, and Ben and Jerry's. Other places are a very short drive away and there is a major mall across the street. The hotel also has a small Starbucks/bar combo that offers some food items as well. I don't know how it compares to similar hotels in the area, but we liked it.

Yelp
The location is perfect , restaurants and a mall. Next to the highway. Check in was a bit slow, they have free breakfast. Rooms were clean and very decent.

Yelp
Dont waste your time, very poor business practices! stay there for business, flight got canceled and Hyatt would not cancel reservation and takes 40 minutes on hold to speak to some one live!!!

Yelp
We made. A Reservation for high floor king bed but at the time of Check. In no rooms were available. We got double beds ( more like a full size ) very uncomfortable. , we tried to talk with the manager but it is very difficult talk with her, I'm still waiting for her reply of my email asking to review the fees

Yelp
It's a Hyatt so it was a nice place to stay, but it didn't feel like a stay at the Hyatt. Service was subpar and they are doing a new thing with breakfast and being a rewards member...and I was literally the only person who was asked if I was a member at breakfast...granted I'm younger and was wearing gym clothes, but really? Sufficient housing, but not really worth the price.

Yelp
Room was clean, lots of people sitting in the front of the hotel like it was a club, kids everywhere, at 115 in the morning. Biggest issue I had: Instead of another staff member checking me in, I was left waiting while they figured out what happened with another customers reservation and it took another staff member at least 10 minutes to help me... ridiculous considering there were others standing around.

Yelp
I will never come here again. I've been here 3 nights and the power has been in and out for 2 nights straight. Last night I slept 3 hours total. I'm a business traveler and after working with clients all day, I expect certain ammendities for my status with Hyatt. Right now, I'm sitting in complete darkness and it's cold. The hotel is old, shabby, the attendants are frantic, the gal that checked me in was rude. Nothing good to recommend here except the Legal seafood restaurant next door. Update: I was offered 1000 points. So I guess I'll continue to stay with Hyatt. Just not at this one.

Yelp
I booked 7 nights at this hotel as part of Priceline air/car/hotel package for our trip last week. This used to be the Sheraton but has been taken over and remodeled to the Hyatt Place. Every year when I return home to Boston, my friend and I always stayed here as its most central to our friends and the mall and a Target is right across the street. There's a mini plaza built right next to the Hyatt in a lower level that includes Starbucks and Five Guys Burgers. Anyhow, the room has been remodel to a very nice design including a L shape couch which is a pull out bed. We stayed in room with a king size bed which included a shower stall instead of a tub. Its slightly inconvenient for us as we have a baby. We were aware of this in advance so we came prepared with our baby's tub. The tub is only available in rooms w/ double beds. There's a flat screen TV and a hidden refrigerator. The bed and pillows are not as comfortable as the Sheraton as it's medium firm. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They greet you daily and each time you walk into the hotel. I checked in the hotel early and was assisted by Donna. Unfortunately, there were no rooms available at 8am so she took my name and assured me that she would call me asap when a room becomes available. About 3 hrs later she called me. I arrived to the front desk with my room key ready and information for breakfast and free wi-fi written on the key envelope. There's also complimentary breakfast and an computers with a printer for use in the lobby. A mini bar area is also available serving beer and cocktails, however, the options are limited. They also have a snack case which included desserts. Both the mini bar and snack case are attached to the front desk area. The breakfast served each morning is the same with bagels, toasts, oatmeal, mini donuts, fruits, bacon egg n' cheese Mcmuffin, egg white on wheat Mcmuffin, and pancakes. There were coffee and juice available. Breakfast is pretty busy and was quite tasteful. I'm not giving the hotel 5 stars for the following reasons: -bed/pillow could be softer. Too firm. -key card reader may need replacing as it locked me out twice and I had to go back down to the front desk to get a new card while carrying my baby and chuggling a baby bag from the 5th floor. -room service menu lacks simple appetizers such as fries, wings, mozarella cheese sticks, etc.

Yelp
Love this hotel! I stayed at a Hyatt Place in New Jersey immediately before staying here and while my room here was smaller the free wireless internet was much faster. Loved it! Also loved the early shift front desk gals - they were so nice. The guys running the free hotel shuttle were great too. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Boston. There is a very nice mall across the street with a Target, movie theater, food court, etc. and the "T" (train) stop is not far and the hotel shuttle will take you there for free. Stayed: September 26-29

Yelp
While checking in I asked where the complimentary coffee was located and told I could have 'all the free coffee I wanted in my room'. Wow, Hyatt, your generosity knows no bounds. Went to use the fitness center and there was no tv. Nor were there complimentary ear buds to use with the bikes and ellipticals. Maybe the extra money they saved by not having a tube and buds could go to buying guests some java. Friggin cheap skates, no wonder I stay at Hilton properties whenever possible.

Yelp
I frequently stay at various Hyatt concepts since this is a preferred option for my employer. Not all of them are created equal, and that is putting it mildly. This particular location Braintree is convenient for my various client visits around town being near the major highways (or as convenient as can be expected in Boston traffic) and I have always had a restful stay here when I am in town. Rooms have always been clean and an extra tip of the hat to how comfortable the beds are here. Granted that this is all a matter of taste, but these most closely resemble the pillow top style mattress I have at home. Most hotels seem to have very firm mattresses for whatever reason, making it that much more difficult for me to fall asleep. The staff here has always been helpful and courteous to me. I am not a needy guest, but any request I have made has been handled promptly. Another benefit of this hotel is they have a 24 hour menu of food available, with an emphasis on the healthier side of things. There is also a bar which serves cocktails, and I am nearly always ready to pound down a cocktail or 10 after a day in the trenches. The fitness center here is fairly decent as far as hotels go, and as you might expect it gets busy earlier in the morning and in the evenings after 5. It's best to squeeze in your workout after about 7:30 or so if possible. There is a Legal Seafood (a Boston chain) attached to the hotel that is overpriced and caters to the tourist crowd that has never had any real New England seafood down the cape, but you can find out more about that on their Yelp page. Overall this is a completely adaquate Boston area hotel, though also bear in mind that since I am never paying the bill when I am here that my level of standards are not what they might be if I was.

Yelp
I stayed here for a few nights for work instead of dealing with morning traffic. Super centrally located! Easily walk downstairs to Starbucks, Legals, and some fast(er) food options like Five Guys, Qdoba, and FatBelly. The south shore plaza is across the street in the event that you're desperate enough to venture in there (hint, it's a dump.) The hotel check-in was quick and friendly, the hotel itself was a little dingy but the room was spacious and served its purpose. There are a few other hotel choices on Wood Rd, this one had a cheaper nightly rate and it was literally a staircase away from Starbucks which made getting my day started that much easier. Check out was done online, which is nice if you're on your way out the door and need to hit the road. Would stay again, just not for a super high-end, luxury experience.

Yelp
This was our first stay at a Hyatt Place hotel, but it definitely won't be the last. It was excellent in all respects. Great entrance and lobby area, comprehensive full hot breakfast included, wide hallways, everything super clean, huge room with couch seating area, extra counter space in bathroom, integrated HVAC with wall thermostat (no drafty window unit), great king bed with a comfortable mattress. The price was very reasonable as well. And the location is very convenient, with several excellent restaurants nearby.

Yelp
The place is very nice and expensive! Sheryl gave me a very hard time checking in. She was being racist to me and my father. My father booked the room for me and gave me permission to utilize his card through email and phone contact and she literally had me sitting in the lobby for 3 hours until I was able to check in with all of my stuff in the lobby! I had just left a domestic violence case and was ordered by the police to rent here. If I could have chosen a cheaper alternative I WOULD HAVE. But I'm under special circumstances. Shame on you for being a bitch. The guy at the bar was cool he heated up my muffin. I hope you get some retraining, maybe they can teach you to be more humane and less superficial.

Yelp
This hotel is convenient in the sense the location is close to highways. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted positivity but the nice women at the desk, quick & easy check in. We get to the room, the toilet wasn't working. We attempted to call the front desk but the phones weren't working. After going downstairs we were offered an "engineer" to come Look but we declined and asked for a new Room which the accommodated us with. In the new room the tv didn't work, so we had to go back downstairs again bc AGAIN the phone didn't work on that room. This time we accepted the offer of having an "engineer" come look. He was pleasant and prompt fixed the television and left (with our remote) so again we had to track him down. For the most part the stay was okay, the breakfast was simple but suitable for on the run. I'd like to ass that I've stayed here 3x in three years not ONCE did the pool work. Overall the staff were friendly and kind- just the hotel itself is a little low grade.

Yelp
Service does not get worse than paying at a hotel without power for any reason and the hotel refusing to waive the cost! Informed by GM via a letter pushed under the door on Sat 6/22 that hotel will be without power from Sat 11 pm 6/22 to Sun 6 am 6/23. I incurred additional cost finding another room in Boston on short notice that was safe. Hyatt refused to cover any additional cost due to this outage. Hyatt had my email and could have informed me on Fri and didn't. This location was only concerned with revenue and did nothing to relocate guests instead messaging the issue was out of their control. Moving guests and refunds was within their control which declined to act on!

Yelp
Have a most wonderful stay at this hotel. The front desk receptionist Named Sherry was so helpful & pleasant. The inside is a little outdated, but cleanness was overall great. The free breakfast is amazingly delicious the fresh fruits, along with beacon & eggs. 7- 10 am. There is a shuttle bus to the airport. This hotel is literally across the street from the Mall. Shoppers Delight!!! I would recommend a stay & will Be Back.
