Yelp
A modern hotel for a modern world.
Hyatt Place was built in 2018 and designed with today's traveler in mind. We picked this hotel for its proximity to Oracle Park and its comparatively reasonable rates.
Our room had modern furniture and decor, a mini-fridge (but no microwave), coffee maker, TV, safe, desk, couch next to the bed, good temperature controls, and so many power outlets and USB charging ports (I counted 10 USB ports around the room). The free WiFi was fast enough for streaming.
We slept in late because there are blackout shades that totally work! I wish this was a standard feature in hotel rooms.
On the downside, noise isolation wasn't the best - the walls and front door let some noise through, particularly from the hallway. And the bathroom lacked a ventilation fan, so things got a bit smelly in there.
The hotel has a good sized fitness center with 7 treadmills, 3 ellipticals, 2 stationary bikes, a couple weight machines, and free weights up to 50lbs.
The courtyard has a covered area with tables and a long fire pit, great for kicking back or enjoying a meal. There's also a terrific lounge and a terrace with a balcony view.
In the morning, the free breakfast included potatoes, scrambled eggs (powdered), sausage, toast, bagels, English muffins, cereal, instant oatmeal, fruit, coffee, tea, juice and more. About middle of the road, but you can't beat free.
Parking is really expensive (it's SF, after all), but since we came from South Bay, we parked in Millbrae and took BART to SF to save money. Overall, we were happy with the amenities and had a pleasant stay here - mainly because it didn't break the bank!
