Worst New Year’s Eve hotel experience I have ever had.
I booked my stay at Hyatt Regency Dubai for New Year’s Eve, and it turned into a complete disappointment from start to finish.
First, I was forced to pay an additional 3,000 AED for a New Year’s Eve party that I did NOT want to attend. This charge was not clearly mentioned during booking, and the total amount was deducted from my credit card at almost three times the original room cost, without transparent itemization at checkout. When I questioned this, the staff claimed it was mentioned somewhere, yet it was never added clearly as a separate charge during payment.
After accepting this situation and arriving at the hotel, I was asked to pay an extra “insurance” for the room, which I have never experienced before in any hotel. This was another unexpected and unexplained charge.
As for the New Year’s Eve party itself, it was very poorly organized. There was only food, the program was extremely weak, and there were no fireworks at all, which is completely unacceptable for a New Year’s Eve event in Dubai—especially at a hotel of this category.
Overall, this was the worst New Year’s celebration I have ever attended. The lack of transparency, unexpected charges, and poor event quality made this experience very disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel for special occasions or New Year’s Eve stays.
