"Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Cedar Creek, Texas has opened two new restaurants: Maude's Bar & Terrace and Maverick's Roadhouse. Maude's is the hotel’s signature restaurant with Southern fare like pecan pie and a harissa-smoked short rib, while Maverick's is a Texas roadhouse with chicken-fried steak and wings. They join the six other restaurants on the property, including fancy omakase spot Sushi by Scratch Restaurants." - Erin Russell

"Snaking down the hotel’s winding and wooded entrance through the McKinney Roughs Nature Park, you might feel like you’re off to camp even though you’re just 30 minutes east of Austin. But the resort’s remote setting makes it more of a family adventure escape than a base for exploring the southwest music capital. Surrounded by forested hills with 16-miles of hiking trails, the 442-room hotel’s exterior is reminiscent of a 19th century Texas farmhouse with front porches and balconies. But those pioneers never saw anything like the glass-walled lobby with dueling fireplaces framing the view of a tidied-up Colorado River (but they wouldn’t have approved of the garish multi-hued carpet that runs rampant). While service is friendly, and the rooms are spacious, the great outdoors is the “Lone Star” here with an exhausting array of activities: three pools (one with a kids’ water slide and lazy river), on-site horseback riding, kayaking, rafting, tennis, and a golf course just steps from the lobby. The full-service Spa Django offers music-themed body-treatments, yoga and a 24-hour gym. Choose from four restaurants and two bars, but buy snacks for the in-room refrigerator from the faux country store since room service closes at 1am. Historical memorabilia line the hallways, and don’t miss the photo collection of renowned Texas musicians. After your action-packed day, relax by a fire pit near the river and gaze at the stars. You’ll quickly understand why those settlers--and this hotel--chose this spot."

Just wow! Worth every cent you'll spend (and spend you will). So many activities, excellent pool area, a variety of restaurants and all around beautiful scenery. I truly enjoyed the best breakfast buffet I've ever had. It's also very satisfying to see all the intact, happy families enjoying themselves and each other. We are returning for a couple of days next week, can't get enough of this place!

Beautiful hideaway. My family and I had a great time celebrating at Lost Pines. Great customer service with the outside guys, and valet attendants directing us to offload our luggage upfront. Saffron was a pleasant, and attentive hostess while we checked in, making for a great impression on the resort, super helpful. We were greeted with smiles and hello's everywhere we went on the property. Plenty of activities to keep you busy and a beautiful, well kept resort to take a load off. Been to a bunch of Hyatt properties & this 1 made it easy to pass along a recommendation. Happy travels!

This resort is beautiful, but there are a lot of extra fees, even when you've already paid (i.e. $25 for self parking, $45 for valet, resort fee, more taxes). I loved staying here, though, there's lots to do, but next time I'd go eat somewhere else than the steakhouse. Of course, you're not allowed to being your own food or drinks to the pool, but the bar wasn't adequately staffed so we'd wait an hour and the waiter would let us know there's a huge wait for drinks. Granted, we were a large party. They also didn't have enough tubes for the lazy river. That said, the overworked staff were lovely, it's a beautiful place to spend time, and I really enjoyed myself.

My family and I stayed here for the Fourth of July weekend. It was amazing. We had fun from the activities from the foam party from the fireworks were spectacular. Big shout out to Lauren for going above and beyond for my family and I, we will definitely be back next Fourth of July because it is one of the most amazing firework display I ever seen in my life on earth. My kids had The best time because there were so many things for us as a family to do and bond with each other.

The service is perfection. The entire staff is friendly and willing to help with anything you need. Regardless of it is within their department or not. The grounds are awesome and well cared for. The rooms are adequate. Could use some refreshing/updating but not bad. Beds are very comfortable. Can’t give it 5 stars because for the price there are just a few details that need to be worked on. Common area bathrooms are almost to the gross point due to their age. The outdoor patios need some cleaning / fresh paint here and there. Nothing terrible but definitely needs to be attended to before I can give that last star.

We just got back from a stay here and had a fabulous time! We were upgraded to a pond view room next to the playground which was a bonus when traveling with a toddler. The pool area is 10/10!! We loved it, the lazy River and slide were so fun. The service was good but food was a little pricey but to be expected at a resort. The room was great, just a few minor things like a super sticky sliding door. We let the cleaner know so she was going to let maintenance know. Jessica was great when I reached out to her before the trip, Elija our valet was great. We loved the animals, and bike rides. We didn’t leave the resort for 2 days and was happy as can be. We even did the pony ride for our toddler. Can’t wait to return!

I have stayed here a few times now. And I am Going back on my birthday. The lazy river is perfect for a relaxing time I love that they have an adults only pool. The Bars are great they now how to make a good old fashioned. Restaurants are great. Next time I stay there. I plan to go to the sushi restaurant rooms are very comfortable. I love that the room that I had,had a ceiling fan in it. Bathwater was very hot. That is a necessity for me. Young man, Cohen at the front desk was very helpful.

Yelp
First, be aware it is a ways off the beaten path. Once you are out of Austin and you see thebresort sign, you travel a looooong way down a country path. For those using taxi/uber/lyft, there is a gated entry. It looks like you have to pay but you don't because the first hour is free so they can drop you off and there is no charge unless they stay. The property is huge. 405 acres. Golf, pool, lazy river, pickleball, fire pits, corn hole, walking trails, petting zoo, spa, horses. Some activities are included in the daily $46 fee; others are extra. They have several bars and restaurants; I was there for a conference and didn't eat at specific restaurants. It felt like the drink, food, and spa pricing reflect the fact that you have nothing else nearby. It was all *ok* but not gourmet, in my opinion. Staff is all super nice and polite. Very welcoming and helpful. I got in about 30 minutes prior to the official check in and there was a long line (many people were coming in for the same conference). It took about 15 minutes. My room wasn't yet ready so they took my number and I sat in the lobby for another 15 or so (other people were waiting too). They texted it was ready and I got back in the long line again. I did not love that part. The elevators are old and klunky. I never found the internal stairs although I found the ones at the end of the hall which didn't get used a lot (many cobwebs). The hallways are long and they come to a rotunda where there are 3 other hallways. The pool and lazy river are out on the property so you have to make your way to and fro. The rooms are big and long. There is a coffee nook with several coffees and teas. The small safe is under that. The bathroom is big and has a shower and a tub. The sink stand has a motion sensing light for underlight in the dark. There are a lot of plugs in the room, which is nice. The rooms have balconies but you will need to clear away the cobwebs. I loved that the room had a fan. The table was awkwardly placed. I sat on the uncomfy chair to do some work because it was more comfortable than the bench. There are 3 deep drawers under the TV to put clothes if you wish. The closet is generous and has a suitcase stand and an iron and ironing board. A hairdryer is also in the bathroom. No robes or slippers, which many spa resorts include with the room and which would have been nice especially with the trek out to the pool and back. They must do yellowjacket reconnaissance because even though a number of our meals were outside I didn't see a single one. The fly population is also low. However, I did see fireflies at night. It's been a long time since I saw those. You can hear everyone's conversation in the hallway, both in their room as you walk down the hall and also as they walk down. They were doing construction at the end of the hotel and the beeps were heard very early, along with weird vibrations from some heavt equipment machinery. I didn't love that either. Finally, the bugs. I had both ants and cockroaches in my room. Maybe to be expected in the wilds of Texas, but it wasn't thrilling. I didn't even have food in my room or go out on the balcony after the first day. But the staff are nice, the animals at the petting zoo are fun (one of the pigs loves her belly rubbed), the pool was nice and a good temp, and I loved having the fan vs just the air con.

Yelp
We stayed at the Lost Pines Resort for one night from Friday-Saturday, there were a lot of great amenities and we had a great time, however it did not live up to the hype and was a bit of a let down in comparison to other Hyatt properties and other similar resorts. We are Hyatt Globalists and stayed here on an award night, so we received valet parking included as well as a room upgrade and early check in. These benefits were great and the check in process was easy. We were told upon check in that they could not accommodate a late check out, which was a let down as per the Globalist benefits we should get 4:00 check out. This was the first time in many years of Globalist status to not be offered the late check out, I feel that other properties (including resorts) have possibly better systems as this has always been immediately applied upon check in to our stay. We did end up getting 2:00 check out (we got this offered to us the morning that we were departing), which was good, it was just handled differently than usual for us. This is also the first Hyatt property that did not send a welcome email or provide a welcome letter with the Globalist benefits, so things were not super clear or explained super well to us. They do not offer any spa service discounts or other amenities to Globalists other than breakfast being included at this property. Our room was on the first floor with a patio and it was very spacious. Robes were not included, and there was nothing special about in-room amenities, but it was a nice space. The walls are extremely thin, I could hear basically every sound and word from the room next to us. The pool area is great and massive, the service at the pool is also amazing and super quick. We had a great time and this was definitely the biggest positive of the resort. They have a good variety of menu items, including the ability to modify to make gluten free options and servers were knowledgeable on gluten and other dietary restrictions. We had dinner at Maverick's on Friday night, and it was a bit crowded however there was no wait. I ordered the brisket tacos, and they were delicious! Also a good variety of gluten free options and the servers were helpful in this area. We did end up waiting for around 30 minutes with empty waters and plates, and I had to go to the host stand and someone else came to our table to provide us the check as our server did not check back in with us after dropping off the food- which was odd as we did see her around and just couldn't get her attention. Breakfast was great, Ashlynn was our server and she was amazing! Again- great gluten free options (this was a common trend, even the smores in the evening had gluten free graham crackers!) and service was quick and the food was great. The gym was a bit of a disappointment as the Peloton bikes were in horrible condition, something that the property advertises as an amenity. Neither bike was calibrated and one bike the pedals were sort of broken and when I tried to adjust it it kept falling back down to the shortest setting- which can be dangerous if in the middle of a ride. The rest of the gym was standard, and the spa area (sauna, steam room, pool, showers, etc.) are included and available for guests of the resort. Despite the resort fee including the spa amenities, I was told that lockers and robes are not included (only given to guests receiving a paid service). Overall I really enjoyed the pool and outdoor amenities at this resort- which is the main attraction. I was let down as this is advertised as a higher category resort and in comparison to other resorts as well as lower category properties, the service was not great and there was a lot that I feel was overlooked by management that could've improved the guest experience.

Yelp
The staff is excellent!! We were here for a conference and it was fantastic. The food servers and staff that took care of us during meals were SO good. Everyone acted like they were happy to do their work; which was so refreshing. The housekeeping service took great care of my room (even noticing that I was out of makeup wipes and left some for me the next day)! Just can't say enough good things about this resort! Ms. Phyllis (Bastrop Rides) took great care of us too!

Pree R.

Yelp
This resort is super popular for organizations to have their conferences at, and was the reason for my recent stay. While it can be an ideal location for a weekend family getaway, I personally think it takes too much time to get from one place to the other. It's quite a walk from the parking lot to the lobby, especially if your flight is super late getting into Austin. The drive into the resort also takes a good 10 minutes from the main roads. Inside the hotel, it can be a long, winding walk through the hallways just to get to your room! However, once you get to your room, it does indeed feel modern and luxurious. My last experience at a Hyatt was at the one near the San Antonio Riverwalk, and this room was comparable in regards to space and quality. The restaurant options are not amazing, but decent for what is available. I did get these amazing cookies and cream cake bites (in a candy jar) from the Maude's coffee shop that tasted incredible. I wouldn't stay here voluntarily, but if it's for work, it can be a nice place to keep everyone in one place, LOL. If I had a choice, I'd honestly never leave my room---the rooms are the best part of the hotel. That, and maybe the random alpaca that showed up in the lobby before I left!

Kruti G.

Yelp
The restaurants on site had plenty of vegetarian options and the gym was nice. I was here for a conference and they catered to our group very well. They had great venue space. The rooms were clean. My only complaint is that the AC in rooms didn't get as cold as the air in the conference rooms. The property is nice and family friendly. A lot of activities! Def will be back.

Sarah K.

Yelp
Stayed here with my girls for a little spa getaway and we had the best time! Location was serene and quiet, and the hotel was very clean with spacious rooms. Loved that there were multiple pools, slides, and a lazy river for us to enjoy at the resort as well as poolside snacks readily available to order. The spa is also connected to the hotel, which made it super easy for us to stay onsite and enjoy all the amenities. Recommend!!

Traci U.

Yelp
From the long winding driveway to the plush lobby area, this place is beautiful! The staff were helpful & friendly. Specifically, the staff greeting visitors & helping to unload our vehicles were kind & helpful! They made a great first impression. Even at checkout, they were fast, helpful, & friendly. The room was nice; however, we spent very little time there! Our family enjoyed the activities, animals, and pool area. The s'mores making was a hit with the kids! Our only complaint was the need for more frequent emptying & picking up of trash in the pool area. The trash cans were overflowing at times, attracting bees. Additionally, while there we utilized the training/convention center room & catering! The food was good, but the hotel catering staff were AMAZING! They met our every need, answered all our questions, and were overall very helpful! The staff made sure we were comfortable and cared for during our entire stay!

Yelp
WHEN: March 2023 Is there an 8 star rating option? I'll try to keep this brief and straight to the point: This is perhaps the best resort I've been to, and mainly because of how family friendly it is. We flew into Austin and decided to stay at the resort because there's just so much wonderful things to do here. And with 2 toddlers it's just easier and more convenient. I'll see Austin another time. This resort is tucked away in the middle of wonder Cedar Creek, and I must highlight all the amazing stuff staying here: THE ROOM LAYOUT It's such a smart usage of space. I loved that there's a booth seating for the table. Such a cozy room with a balcony, where we see the petting zoo just outside. There's both a tub and shower so bathing the kiddos was easy. The bathroom is also quite spacious. WATER RESORT There are so many options for you and the kids to enjoy the water activities: + Shallow Pools that feel like the beach + Water Fountains the kids can run through even at 10pm + Lazy River to float down in tubes + Water Slide to go down in + Cabanas to relax in + Heated Pools + Lots of towel areas and lounge chairs RESTAURANTS There's are lots of options for food besides room service and the little convenient shop. They make sure its family friendly too. FOR THE KIDS (and adults) + PETTING ZOO - Goats, Llamas, Pigs, Ponies to pet! You can see the Longhorns from afar and depending on the time, you can get up close to one. + S'MORES - There are kits that include everything you need to make s'mores and 2 fire pits to do them in. + CRAFT KITS - Everyday you can pick up pouches of crafts and activities for the kids. So awesome. + PLAYGROUND - Oh yeah, there's a play area cuz what kid doesn't enjoy a playground. + ARCADE - Nice option but didn't go because we didn't have cash. + WATER RESORT - See above. + BIKE RENTALS - They have all sorts of bikes and helmets for all ages just laid out for us to borrow. My sis got the one with a seat for her 2-year old, and my 4 year old niece got to ride a bike with training wheels. It's such a great area by the pond to do some casual riding. FREE LAUNDRY This is amazing. You just pick up free detergent and fabric softener at the front desk. GOLF Didn't do this because we dont care for it, but nice that there's the option. WALKING TRAILS There are little garden areas and trails you can walk through. There's lots of options to just explore this resort. SPA Didn't get a chance to do this but it's nice to know its an option. My highlight is how family friendly and focus this resort is. I can't recommend it enough.

Katherine S.

Yelp
It's underwhelming. The resort is very full, tons and tons of kids. Do not come if you want a kid free time. It's busting with kids. The pool needs to be cleaned. There's a lot of leaves and debris it's not clean in my opinion at all. Housekeeping is slow. Our room was hot and the AC will not cool it, we asked for help and they "remotely turned it down". Guess what? It's still not cooling it. Had to go to the front desk and ask again for help. Food is fine. Nothing amazing. The servers are attentive. The redo of the spaces indoors is nicely done but they need to spend more on maintenance outside. Spa was fine, again it won't blow you away.

Joy L.

Yelp
My only disappointment is that the Firewheel Cafe is no longer serving lunch. That only leaves Maverick's Roadhouse in the main building. The food is good, but it would be nice to have an alternative choice.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Came here for a retreat for work and the experience was ok. The resort is located a few miles off State Hwy 71 E and the drive in showcases the woodsy area, golf course, and trail. They offer multiple restaurants and large conference rooms. The lazy river and pool (adult only section as well) was nice along with the multiple fire pits. There is a bar with food at the pool but it closes fairly early. The rooms are average size with nice views depending on where you're located. From room to room and floor to floor, it's quite noisy and hard to ignore. The food from the restaurant (Maverick's) was ok but could've been better. They do serve pizza at another location that was quite good. Overall, it was an average resort experience that couldn't been better especially for the pricing.

Yelp
I got a spa gift card as a birthday present and I was so excited to go. I got there and the front desk redirected me to the hotel as the spa A/C was out. Understandable- that happens. They were doing treatments in the hotel. They had put together a makeshift waiting area and had keurig cups and paper cups if you wanted coffee or tea but no hot water. Ok. The massage itself was wonderful and really liked my massage therapist but there were essentially no spa amenities to take advantage of. The sauna? Not turned on- same with the steam room. The hot tub had green algae growing in it. I went outside to the pool and it was gross- hadn't been skimmed and there were no towels. I gave up on my supposed "spa day" and went to get lunch at the restaurant that used to be Shellers. It was pretty empty and I waited a while for the bartender to turn around and he said "do you want a menu or something?" I said "yes, please" and asked how his day was going and he said "I'm exhausted. Had to work a double shift yesterday." Then I sat for 10 minutes as he talked to to a coworker and never came back. I finally left.

Yelp
Stayed here for only one night for a two day Executive Leadership Strategic Plan Meeting. This place is awesome but it does require a lot of walking. For example, going out to your vehicle in the self parking area, which is much cheaper. Walking from the lobby to the room I had was an extensive walk. My room was awesome, the beds were comfortable. The bar gets packed quickly. The restaurants are awesome as is the coffee shop. We reserved the fire pit which had a bar serving Texas beer, Texas wine, and Texas liquors only. It was awesome. The staff is extremely professional and friendly. Great place to stay for special occasions, or to hold your business meetings.

Yelp
I've stayed in so many hotels of different types and categories, but I don't think any executes on their mission with more excellence and consistency than the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines. First, I appreciate the generous availability of award bookings of different levels. I appreciated Mathew and Jessica in particular, who were very helpful in answering my questions and securing connecting rooms during the reservation process. The schedule of activities can keep kids entertained for days and days; mine had a great time with their daily alpaca visits and pettings, various arts and crafts activities, freeze tag, the guided night hike (including the night vision goggles), stargazing with the telescopes and astronomer guides, activity room with bounce house, frequent bike rentals from the bike corral, movie nights on the lawn outside, and nightly s'mores at the fire pits. These were all included in the $40/night resort fee. The hotel is experimenting this year with keeping the water park open off-season, which means that in addition to the heated activity pool and hot tub, the lazy river and water slide were also available (albeit very cold). The poolside bar was serving an abbreviated menu. Very nice. The arcade is a little off the beaten path and it would be easy to miss entirely if you aren't paying attention, but it has some fun games in there like air hockey, Guitar Hero II, Pac-Man / Galaga, and some others at reasonable prices (they take credit cards in there now). The Spa is another great thing here that many guests probably miss. Everyone has free access to the facility alongside the fitness center; it has some very cushy locker rooms with relaxation lounges, steam rooms and sauna, and hot tub, as well as a co-ed outdoor pool and hot tub. The locker room hot tubs are worth a special mention because they are actually outside, so you are fenced in for privacy and have a canopy above for shade but still get to enjoy the outside. It's great for a cold day. This whole area is immaculately maintained and gets very little use. (Pro tip: swing by there for some water or a complimentary coffee. Great place to go hang and get away from kids, even if you are just sitting in the Relax area of the locker room. It's worth a visit!) The hotel lobby is beautiful. There are many fire pits around the property that are amazing for a late-night hang out when it's not hot outside. They have changed up some of the dining options and added a nice, new bar concept called Maude's where the old activity desk used to be. The prices on food and drinks are generally reasonable. The breakfast in Heartwood House (formerly Firewheel Cafe) is robust and reasonably priced for what it is; lots of great options including an omelet station, fresh waffles, smoothies, smoked salmon and bagels, and a variety of pastries and cereals and other hot breakfast items. They always have non-pork meat options available: chicken sausage for the omelets one day, brisket in some scrambled eggs on another, and more brisket at the omelet station at the New Years' Day brunch. McDade's also deserves special mention; it's great to have a place to go for small essentials and simple eats. You can get a variety of coffee drinks around $5-$7, packaged salads, wraps, and sandwiches, and a nice pizza for $15. A family of 4-5 could very reasonably do dinner from there for like $30-$40 and eat in your room, one of the tables outside McDade's, or outside on the deck. (The deck is beautiful with exquisite attention to detail, e.g. lights mounted in the trees to accentuate the branches.) Maverick's has a great patio area; this one is great with kids because they can run to the playground while parents maintain line of sight from the table. I'd be remiss not to note the incredible job on their New Years' Eve festivities. These far exceeded expectations: they handed out all sorts of props and toys for the kids, had set up free adult beverages and sodas inside for several hours, had a movie on the lawn, and ended with an incredible fireworks show right over our heads. They managed to keep up an incredible partyesque vibe for several hours and made it fun for kids and adults alike. Just very well done, and included some nice remarks from the General Manager as well. The New Years' Day brunch was also very well done; huge kudos to them for the excellent bloody mary and mimosa bars. It's been a while since I had a good, fully-loaded bloody mary. Lots of strong options there. This hotel pays extreme attention to the guest experience and is always looking to improve. Every single staff person I interacted with was courteous and helpful and seemed aligned to the hotel's mission and delivering on that experience. I don't know how they manage to run this tight of a ship, but I'm done experimenting with new vacation destinations and will be very content just to start bringing the family here at every opportunity.

Yelp
I used to come here every year growing up so this spot has a huge nostalgia factor to it for me; however, I don't remember it being very nice - that all has changed! After taking a break for 5+ years, we made our return to a newly renovated resort - rooms, amenities, restaurants, etc. According to a bartender, they have been doing the renovations in waves/sections. Not sure if they've completed or not but I never saw/heard any construction work. It looks really nice now. I didn't make it out to the spa so this is purely based on pictures I saw as I was trying to decide, but it didn't look nice enough to pay the $$$ to go for me personally, but hopefully they are planning to renovate it as well. The property is also big enough so that when we went, it didn't feel like a ton of people. Plenty of room and seating scattered throughout. ALSO you can roast marshmallows and make s'mores by the fire pit at night :) Foodwise - Maverick's was my favorite (although we didn't try everything - mostly convenience). Solid cocktails (LOVED their "meet me at the fire pit" - a s'more's take on the espresso martini - I was worried it would be too sweet but it was really well balanced) and good food. My sister and I split a few meals (burger for dinner one day, salad the next) - and to our pleasant surprise they brought them out for each of us in half portions!! It was such a nice touch and we really appreciated it. My mom got a sweet chili pork bun (can't remember the exact name) and that was really good as well. The crab dip was a standout, although it was really filling so highly recommend sharing with 3+ people. We went to Fire wheel café for buffet dinner one night - the selection was pretty small tho - a lot smaller than I remembered and smaller than your typical buffet... the crab bisque was AMAZING tho with surprisingly generous lumps of crab... I took advantage of the oysters. There are also so many fun activities available! I've only done horseback riding in the past - there is also fishing, pickleball, trap shooting, tinsel for hair, yard games, ziplining.... They even offer free bikes (plenty of selection for everyone) and there is a really nice and easy trail you can ride along... super scenic and peaceful, right by a small pond and hilly greenery. All in all, this was a wonderful staycation and definitely deserving of a 4+ star rating so don't let the current rating deter you away. We are looking forward to our next stay here!

Yelp
Lots to do. Super expensive. They have a game room that unfortunately requires money. Many of the free activities are checking out the animals, the pool/lazy River, s'mores, movie night and other activities. The room itself is clean and modern. The property is something everyone would love to own. With some gigantic, beautiful trees. Staff is generally friendly. Good on site is pretty expensive, but to be expected. Lazy River is fun, but tends to cut up my feet. It's worth visiting a few nights.

Yelp
2/5 stars for the room. Loudest hotel I've ever stayed at -- don't expect much R&R. I was kept awake past midnight by someone stomping around in the room above me, and woken up before 6:30am by the TV blasting in a nearby room. The soundproofing is clearly lacking. The bed was comfortable but was not able to sleep well given the constant noise from other rooms. The onsite restaurant Maverick's Roadhouse was very good (had both lunch and dinner there) so rounding up to 3 stars.

Yelp
Would rate 3.5, but don't have the option. We came for a few days during spring break with our two kids and 55lb dog. You have to book a patio room to have the dog stay too. Rooms are spacious and include a nice size mini fridge and keurig type coffee maker, with two water bottles per day. Walls are thin, bring your noise machines. Cheap toilet paper and Kleenex. For the price you pay, at least provide better paper products. Had issues controlling the thermostat and the toilet chain didn't work well. On the floor is an ice machine, filtered water, vending machine and microwave. In the coffee shop, there's a microwave and toaster along with a fully stocked condiments like peanut butter, honey, jelly, Tabasco and even sweet baby rays bbq sauce. Food is overpriced, bring your own food for at least lunch or dinner. Breakfast buffet was really good! Pizza at the coffee shop is not good and I will eat any kind of pizza. Had I known about the microwave earlier, I would have avoided eating lunch and dinner at the restaurants. At the pool restaurant, two small quesadillas and fries was $32! Dinner buffet was $30 per adult and $15 per child. They automatically add a 25% "service" fee to all meals Bikes were not great but they were fine for riding around the property. You cannot take them on the trails or golf cart paths. Great hiking trails just outside the property. Parking is $18 per day. It all adds up! Overall we had a nice time. Three days was plenty for us. Only thing that would have been icing on the cake was to add in a fenced area for the dogs to be off leash. There's plenty of dog bags and trash cans everywhere but no where for them to run freely without a leash.

Yelp
I'm writing this review for a bartender named Charity. She made my trip memorable. On my first night I couldn't get in touch with room service. Initially they were having trouble with the ordering site showing up but I made half a dozen calls to room service over 30 min and nobody responded. I decided to just go get something basic from the little mart and grab a glass of wine and head back to the room. I was celebrating my birthday by myself after a work retreat I was in town for. I simply let her know this information and she immediately apologized for me not getting room service and offered me a complimentary chicken kabob. That was just the start. I'm not sure what's appropriate to share here so I won't go into more detail but I will say, I've never been so looked after before at a bar by anyone in my life. I hope you give her a raise, bonus, accolades, etc. She went above and beyond to lift my spirits. Thank you again Charity! Also shot out to the guy at the golf club who lent me a wedge and putter and a couple balls without asking who I am or charging me to mess around for a little bit. Sorry I didn't get your name either haha but I appreciated you! The hotel itself I would say 4 stars given the consideration of what it is, where it is, and comfort. There's a billion bikes everywhere you just pick up and ride easily. The bed and pillows and towels were great, awesome actually, but some of the sheets had holes from being worn down (also making them quite soft but needing replacement soon). I loved the motion sensor lights at the base of the bed and bathroom. I also liked the sitting space and tables provided. The carpets were clean too! Outside you'll find rocking chairs everywhere, even by the river. When I arrived I would have appreciated more information about how to get the most out of my stay. I felt like I needed to ask a lot of questions instead of being provided with everything I might need. I also felt like telling the front desk it was my birthday was completely disregarded. There was a lot of stuff to do there, especially if you have a friend to bum around with. The lazy river was so fun and you could easily spend all day. The water was pretty murky with lots of debris. They allow beverages in the water so I would keep that in mind, they are very cool about that (which is fun) but also means the water won't be super clean. It's a huge space and there are more pools as well. It seemed like you could order a drink/food at your location you settle into, but it didn't work. Overall, I would stay again! There's a lot of good times to be had. Another thing to consider is how to get into town and back if you stay without a car. You'll need to plan your rides in advance by completing a form to get a taxi. Getting there with Lyft or Uber isn't hard but getting out is. I would also recommend they clarify where the spa services are since the signs for the spa in the halls on all levels of the hotel don't actually lead anywhere. The building is outside, & not connected.

Yelp
Stayed here for a couple of days during a business meeting. Rooms are very nice. Numerous ammediaes to use. Several bars and a restaurant called Mavericks. I did not eat there. The food we were served was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Peting area for the kids. It is a couple of miles off the beaten pass.

Brenda W.

Yelp
Property is beautiful and there is lots to do. Food hasn't been good all the way around. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Had an event for 300 people and there was only one serving station. One serving station for 300 people? Property grounds could have better lighting. Housekeeping staff all rock. Super friendly. TV streaming was unsuccessful.

Yelp
The best restaurant in Austin must see the food is great as well as the service very friendly people.

Yelp
The hotel is very new modern nice inside but the location is terrible, middle of BFE. Cow dung country. After you get off the freeway, you have to drive another 15min to get to the hotel. Very far from Austin. The bed was comfortable but the walls are paper thin, for new construction this is rather odd. The neighbor was talking loudly at 3am in the morning and I couldn't sleep. Not fun! The food choices at the hotel is slim. I ended up driving all the way to Austin to grab dinner. For how much they charge per night, it's totally not worth it. Do not recommend.

Yelp
I came here for the spa. If you book any service, you're able to use the amenities the WHOLE day. I also got a spa pass via resortpass for $75, which is unnecessary. The front desk suggested I call them for a refund. Resortpass did. Definitely worth it if you can get the lazy river pass. Anyways, for the women's locker room, there are plenty of lockers. You're given a water. Robe. Slippers. I used the Vichy shower, wet sauna, dry sauna, hot tub. These are all clothing optional. There was this nice salt scrub for your hands. Loved that. There's a co Ed out door pool and hot tub. I joined my boyfriend there for a poolside snack from mavericks. It was brought over. Note the hostess needed to take my card, go back to the restaurant, charge it, come back. The crab dip was good! We got champagne to relax. So my massage by Michelle was amazing. She massaged my entire body in 50 minutes leaving me feeling like jello. She did an amazing job w the Swedish massage. She also did my boyfriend who preferred more deep tissue, he mostly got that. He also got a facial which left his skin looking hydrated and youthful. He said it was good. Massage is $4/minute, typical of resort spas. We left to go eat at Mavericks, nice stroll over and back. It was mostly empty at 4:30pm. Evan was great! We sat at the bar, had a variety of shows and sports going on. They split our salad and wagyu burger. My boyfriend got the flourless cake with a candle. It was so good! The staff confirmed it was made in house. We went back to the spa to do one more hot tub soak, then Got our parking validated. We explored the resort a little, saw the lazy river (we'll be back next time for this!), borrowed one of the many bikes and went for a nice ride along the green on a paved walkway, stopped to say hi to goats, alpaca, cows, rested at a butterfly garden then went home. Lovely resort and relaxing day.

Yelp
My review of this place has taken awhile. I've been revisiting my 2021 travels, and I truly enjoyed the spacious room at this resort. Great working and dining area with a large frig by hotel standards. The bathroom was very well appointed and spacious. The bed was very comfy too and I really love having a ceiling fan. The entire property is tucked away, really outdoor forward. I was at a conference and must say that the food was very on point for a resort. I had an unfortunate service incident at the main restaurant that shows the staff needs some training. The self parking was SO FAR from the check-in area so you should honestly just valet if you have a disability like me. And even walking to the room in the hotel is a hike so pack comfy shoes. Sign up for some outdoor activities like horseback riding and axe throwing and throw some s'mores on the fire pit while you sip your whiskey.

Yelp
I wanted to write a review for this hotel cause I thought it was a nice property and my personal experience was nice. I was surprised to see the reviews overall was not 5 star. From the the nice quick valet and front desk to the clean property that looks new and clean in every way. Other resorts I been to look run down and need renovation. Not this one. Will be back. Special thanks to Gabriella, Jacob and hrushi!!!

Yelp
Great resort, even though it is pricey. The lazy river was our favorite thing to do. They also had golf, free bicycles to ride around the resort, playgrounds, fishing, a pool, water slide for anyone over 42", and some farm animals that the kids could pet. They also did planned activities for the kids like kickball and movie night on the lawn with a projector. The spa was nice too.

Yelp
I guess people like it but I didn't. Reason for stays:: 2022 & 2023 business conference. If given a option, I would not choose to stay there again. Resort overall is very rural location with aesthetically beautiful landscaping. The entrance is over 2.5 miles long and you may spot a deer! Just know the hotel is least 25 min or more to any shopping or decent restaurants-because you may wish to frequent these. The resort is outdated and boring. I heard the golf and course is great but the spa is overpriced. The fitness center is ridiculously limited with very few machines, and little to no space between equipment and people. The food is just horrible. The menus are basically the same in each restaurant so choices are limited. Someone said the pizza was good from the grab n go store -I didn't try it. But the grab and go salad with chickpeas was terrible. The layout for the guest halls is ridiculous. Just excessively long. My room in particular sat wayyyy down at the end of 2 separate lengthy hallways from the elevator which made for an extra long walk back and forth. Whatever you do, DO NOT forget anything or you'll be doing the 'walk of lame.' The bed was stiff, pillows were more like little sandbags & the shower had unsightly mold between few of the tiles. The balcony was was cute with 2 chairs. The guests next door thought so too because they stayed out there until midnight talking as loud as humanly possible while they're music played. I would have complained but but I didn't want to get out of bed just to reposition my pillows for another 30 min. The staff was pleasant. The 'resort' just didn't add up for me.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time with our family!! Great place for kids. Highly recommend this place for family reunions!

Stephanie M.

Yelp
I stayed in room 2111 with two queen beds. The room was spacious and had a large patio space as well! The views were very calming. Perfect to sit out in the morning with a cup of coffee or for an evening sip of wine. Such a gorgeous property and the staff very kind. Large mini fridge, desk space, lighting under the beds and restroom for late night. Keurig in the room as well with tea and coffee. I didn't have time to explore the resort activities, but there are so many included! This would be a nice getaway with the family or for a couples retreat.

Grace C.

Yelp
We and our kids (5 and 2 years old) enjoyed our stay here. Our room with 2 queen beds and a balcony was pretty spacious & worked well for a family of 4. Each day there is a schedule of activities, including watching the staff feed the mascots in the morning, "meet the mascot" with a different animal near the lobby most mornings, s'mores most evenings, and family movie night most evenings. There is also a playground, free bikes/helmets/bikes with training wheels for anyone to use. Indoors upstairs at the mezzanine level there is a ping pong table, shuffleboard, pool table. The pool and water park features: there is a lazy river, a water slide (must be over 42" tall, this is enforced by an employee who checks height), a kiddie pool 1-1.5' depth, a large shallow beach entry part of the main pool that's shallow enough for kids to play. We ordered food to eat poolside, and it was pretty good (quesadilla especially... the salad with chicken and grilled cheese sandwich were decent) Redeemed Chase Sapphire Reserve points for Hyatt points to stay here - as recommended by The Points Guy. Only negatives: - the prior occupant's hair was still on the wall of our shower stall - they must have had some recent water damage or leak because parts of the hallways smelled like the "wet towel" smell and they had these portable fans going. The lobby also smelled a little weird

Yelp
Excellent experiences here! We have stayed in a multitude of rooms and suites. Always excellent service by the staff and the food is always good. Blue bonnets are great and so are holiday brunches!

Yelp
Went to the spa for a massage. John Brown gave, hands down, the best massage I have had. I only wish it had been longer than the 50 mins I booked. All the staff in the Spa were excellent and helpful as well!!

John B.

Yelp
I had a 100 minute CBD massage from Jenna today and it was absolutely phenomenal. I've had multiple injuries to my spine and I am hesitant to do deep tissue massage. Her pressure and communication was perfect. After 20 minutes I was asleep like a baby and she really worked out so much tension. She addressed my areas of concern and my hip and back are no longer in pain. I would definitely recommend requesting for her. The locker rooms were well kept and clean and the front desk was friendly, helpful and Inviting. The Spa Supervisor Elaina was there to greet guests with a smile and I have to say it was one of the best experiences I've had in my 20 years getting regular massage. I will definitely be back as I found out it serves as a day spa and they even offer full access memberships that include the attached 24 hour gym as well. Hot tubs, steam room, outdoor pool, dry sauna and Vichy shower. It has everything. Each visit offers 2 complimentary adult beverages from the bar and an assortment of fresh fruit and baked goodies. Incredible.

Yelp
Lazy River and S'mores! This place is the cat's pajamas! I had so much fun here. They have a lazy river that takes maybe 20 minutes to go all the way around on, but it's an extremely lazy river- the jets do a great job of keeping you moving through the water. It all looked like a Texas themed hunting lodge, with high ceilings, looking like a log cabin, and a big campfire! They offer free s'mores every day with a professionally packaged set of marshmallows, a roastin' stick, a small chocolate bar, and two graham crackers. It's almost presented like the shower set is- individual serving like. The lazy river is nicely landscaped with lots of interesting bends in the river, plants, water falls, a water slide, an area with some volleyball, and shallow hanging- and even an adults only area! Whoa! They've thought of everything with all the swimming! There's an outdoor bar that has lots of bees (don't worry- they won't sting!) and they sell some locally made craft beers, which was pretty surprising with the varieties that they picked out. The room was nice, comfortable, and clean. There was plenty of space, and everything was well lit, and well labeled. The artwork in the hallways was all Texas music themed. There's a petting zoo kinda option that they have as an activity, one that includes an Alpaca llama, or a longhorn cow. Yeehaw! Parking was in a giant lot, there was nowhere near enough parking, and we had to lug everything quite some distance to get to the rooms from the parking. This place is huge.

Yelp
We had the most magical weekend at the resort. Highly recommend John at the spa for therapeutic massage! Best body work I've ever received.

Kim A.

Yelp
Absolutely visit this resort! There are so many things I love about this place. It is quiet, peaceful, set back in nature so secluded and beautiful, there's a gorgeous pond with ducks, pool, lazy river, hot tub, fit pits, basketball, horseback riding, trails to hike and a spa!! There's a camp to drop the kids off so you can have some adult time alone! Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Aaron M.

Yelp
Front desk staff was unpleasant. Food was not very good. Outdoor food and drink service was slow. Rooms were average. Room service adds an additional $20 change plus 18%. It felt like we had to walk a mile just to get to the room (maybe that's why the room service charge is so high haha). I'm really trying to find something I liked...I guess the lazy River was fun but my whole family got sick after riding in it once so I'm guessing it's not very clean? There are plenty of amazing places to stay near Austin, don't pick this place.

Autumn S.

Yelp
I got a deep tissue massage from John Brown at the spa and was so surprised by his knowledge and ability to release all the knots in my muscles. I feel 100x better, with more energy and blood flowing to areas like my knees that weren't getting enough blood flow before. This is not your typical lay back and sleep peacefully Swedish massage, it's changed my whole mindset on how to care for my body. Go see John, it is worth every penny!

Katie V.

Yelp
Love this spa but I mainly visit for John. He is the DaVinci of massage therapist. I feel like his knowledge of muscles / body are demonstrated with every movement. I would make it a monthly routine is I could- he's really great! Working out deep knots in places I didn't think possible. Great spa, great amenities, very pleasant and helpful staff.

Betsy S.

Yelp
Beautiful property but if you are a light sleeper DO NOT stay here, unless you like wearing ear plugs to sleep. The absolute most thin walls and doors of any hotel (including all motels) I've ever stayed in. I could here plainly conversations and the lightest noise from my "neighbor". Fair warning and possibly let you can avoid by getting an "end room" and buying the room next to you and leaving it vacant.

Diana S.

Yelp
June 2023 I booked this place for a weekend getaway. I thought I would take a chance since I have frequently visited the Hyatt Ziva Cancun for many years until there was a shoot out at that resort. This place is out of the way, but doable. We were promptly greeted by valet and provided checkin information. We chose to self park for $18 instead of $42 for valet. A bit ridiculous since this is outside of the Austin city limits and the parking is within the property AND the parking lot is so far from the lobby. This includes all the disabled parking. Lobby area is clean. Check in was easy but staff did not provide any information on the activities or the locations of any of the restaurants, pools, game rooms, etc. It was basically "here are your cards" and "thank you for being a member". The room we received was extremely far from the elevator. So all the back and forth is pretty exhausting. Don't forgot anything when you head to the pool because you are not going to want to go back for it. The resort does not allow you to bring coolers, your own food, or your own drinks to the pool area. They want you to buy alacart from their limited menus. This can get pretty expensive when you are on a family vacation. This is something that really needs to be reconsidered especially since we are already paying an all-inclusive price for a hotel room. If you are going to charge these high prices for rooms, you should have some allowances when it comes to bringing your own snacks. The adult only pool was filthy and smelled like fish. The lazy river was full of leaves and debris. There is plenty of lounge seating throughout the pool area but very limited seating in the adult only area. There is a game room, if you want to call it that. It had maybe ten different arcade type games in a very small room. There is however plenty of games on throughout the resort: basketball tennis horseshoes tetherball cornhole and free bicycles. Breakfast is breakfast, what can you say. We did not try any of the restaurants for lunch or dinner. We chose to explore the nearby cities to go where the locals eat. All in all, not a bad place for a weekend's getaway. But I would not book a week long vacation, nor would I be able to afford it!

Mike M.

Yelp
We stayed during the mid-week for 3 nights. The grounds are beautiful, the room perfect, and the staff friendly and helpful. So why only 3 stars? The food was horrible. We had our dinner comped as the meal came out cold, flavorless, and uninspiring. Breakfast was either al la carte or buffet. We did both... most of the warm options were actually cold, the biscuits stale as were some of the pastries. We attempted to order room service for lunch and were told it's not available with no explanation why. On a side note, we noticed several ceiling AC filter vents and air vents were grossly dirty like they havent been cleaned in years. I pointed out in the breakfast area and the host shrugged it off. Needless to say... we had a disappointing visit. Our first time too. We might be back but only if food quality greatly improves.

William E.

Yelp
Came for a mini anniversary vacation. A surprise for the wife, she loves lazy rivers, calls it her happy place. Room was nice, bed a little hard but still comfortable after a lazy day of floating. Hotel grounds look good, nice walking paths and small garden areas to walk in. Only bad thing I have to say is the signs in the gardens need re-done, they are dingy and faded. Lazy river is awesome, good flow, temp and views. It has 2 waterfalls, adult area, pool area with sand entrance. Only done side is the bar closes at 7 but pool is open till 10. We rented a cabana one evening, it includes cold water, 25$ credit at the bar and attendant. Wife loved that the pool is open till 10, the area is quiet even in the halls. This will be a must return place for us

Yelp
Loved staying here, and had to come leave a review for the incredible massage I got at the spa. John Brown brought a whole new level of expertise, and it showed in his unique approach. Loved it and will come back!

Randie P.

Yelp
I had a massage from John B., a licensed massage therapist at Hyatt Lost Pines, who provided me with an exceptional deep tissue massage that targeted my problem areas. He conducted an alignment assessment beforehand that helped zero in on those areas that needed more attention, demonstrating his attention to detail and expertise. My tension headache that had been lingering for weeks was almost instantly relieved. John's professionalism and skill were evident throughout the entire session, leaving me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and excited to come back another time.

Yelp
Checked in yesterday for my wife's birthday. The only reason we went was to swim in the Lazy River....... That was infested with caterpillars! Seriously the most disgusting experience! When you spend $527 on a room, you want quality, not this crap! I had to snag a broom from housekeeping last night because we had caterpillars in our room and on the balcony! When I brought it to the attention of the front desk this morning (before checkout), the lady said she would see to it that I get a full refund...... Guess what.....(at checkout) she didn't and said she "would wave the resort fees and parking" What a joke of a resort! I will not only NEVER stay there again...... I'm gonna tell EVERYONE how much this place sucks. And there is a reason they can't stay staffed! #clowntown

Jimmie G.

Yelp
Great time and awesome amenities. They have bikes to ride for free with baby seats and a cool pond with ducks and a lake. Basketball court and an awesome animal viewing. They have longhorns, llamas, goats, pigs and ponies. Nice restaurant with some tantalizing wings and other stuff to eat. Their pool was legit too. They have a lazy river to float along and a huge slide to the pool. We had a really good time there and the staff (minus the bartenders) were incredible. The bartender was pretty rude to say the least, but overall it was a great time and we would go back again for sure.

Sherrill F.

Yelp
What a beautiful property! We stayed for just 2 nights and felt very relaxed after spending time here. I highly recommend!

John K.

Yelp
Nice place with so much to do! Spa was very relaxing and my massage therapist John was awesome!
