Ron DeSantis Threatens Miami Hotel’s Liquor License After Drag Show - Eater Miami

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took action on Tuesday, March 14, to revoke the liquor license of the Hyatt Regency Miami hotel in Downtown Miami over accusations that the hotel allowed minors to attend a holiday drag show at the James L. Knight Center, which is affiliated with Hyatt." - Olee Fowler

The fact that we were able to secure the "Presidential Suite" for a reasonable rate should have been my first clue that it would be anything but Presidential. The attention to detail here is sorely lacking, starting with the dripping air conditioner you have to pass under each time you enter the elevator bank. Every tile and fixture in the room, while generally in good repair, looked like the Home Depot special. And there were no microwave and no robes in our suite, although when we asked about it, the hotel did have them... Why on earth would you assume guests in your VIP Suite should not get all the amenities? No pool towels, even 40 minutes after a call to the front desk; I ultimately had to physically go to the front desk where a kind employee personally retrieved some for me. No coffee offered complimentary in the lobby. My Globalist friend gifted me a Hyatt "Guest of Honor" award, allowing us free breakfast and parking, but I'd feel pretty ripped off if we paid full price for these. 3 stars for location, cleanliness, and Ingrid at breakfast. However, this was my first and last Hyatt Regency stay based on this experience. I don't see anything premium or any real value proposition. Granted, I'm not sure if other hotels in the area offer better value. Btw, Hyatt corporate told us on the phone that they have a club lounge at this property, which is not the hotel's fault, but that is inaccurate; they do NOT.

"Hyatt Regency Miami - A Luxurious Stay!" I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Miami, and I was thoroughly impressed! Here's what made my stay exceptional: - Comfortable Rooms: The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. - Excellent Service: The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. - Delicious Breakfast: The breakfast spread was impressive, with a wide range of options to suit every taste. Special mention to Ms. Candy in the breakfast room, who was incredibly friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. Tips: - Take Advantage of Amenities: The hotel offers excellent amenities, including a fitness center and pool, so be sure to take advantage of them. - Ask for Recommendations: The staff are knowledgeable about the local area, so don't hesitate to ask for recommendations on things to do and see. Recommendation: If you're looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Miami, the Hyatt Regency is an excellent choice. The staff, particularly Candy in the breakfast room, will make you feel right at home.

The accommodations were highly satisfactory, featuring spacious and impeccably maintained rooms with efficient air conditioning. The hotel's dining facilities provided generous portions and exceptional culinary quality. Notably, the nachos and the four-cheese jerk chicken mac and cheese were particularly well-received. Furthermore, the bar offered expertly crafted beverages.

I can't believe I'm writing this review because of takeout but the 5oz churrasco from the Marketplace is seriously good. The rest of the hotel was nice too, but try the steak. I wish I took a photo, but I wasn't expecting it to be this good so I just dug in. You get yucca fries, fried plantains, rice and beans, and a steak that defies logic because somehow it's even more tender when you cut with the grain than against it, especially with the plastic utensils that doesn't like cutting across the grain. It's tender, flavorful, and everything you'd want from a steak. For the hotel itself, the location was nice and central, the King Deluxe room we got was huge and clean, everyone was nice. But that's not why I wrote this review.

Google
The great thing about this hotel is the location, I thought that all of the staff was very professional, and the rooms are very well appointed. The beds are comfortable and room service was very efficient. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything. From there, you’re also a short uber ride to South Beach. You’re walking distance to all parts of downtown. You can also access the metro mover easily, find places to eat as well. Almost 2 blocks away from the food court Julie and Henry. I really love how it has it such a spacious lobby with ample places to sit as well.

Google
I have been here a few times. The service is great at the front desk and the bistro/ market. Rooms are nice, clean rooms. Timeless, not trendy style. Beautiful views. Very convenient to walk many places from this hotel.

Google
Good location, but pricey for what it offers. Windows were not clean, AC was making a loud sound. Bed seemed ok. Pool was small. Breakfast was medium quality, lot of food but hard to find something tasty. Coming from Europe, for me the room was looking more of a 3.5 stars. Reception staff very nice.

Google
Great location on the water front. Room was very clean. Service was great. Bed very comfortable. Slight challenges 1. The bathtub wouldn't drain while showering. I called maintenance, he arrived quickly even thought he addressed the issue but no. It never was resolved. 2. This has nothing to do with the hotel, but because it's located at a traffic light, it's a dlight uphill grade the motorcycle and car people with loud exhaust are showing out all night how loud and fast their car or bike is to the next light!!

Yelp
This Hyatt has a really pretty lobby, and it's always cold. It's good when the weather is too hot outside. Checking in and out were easy. I would say this is a nice place to get sleep at night. The amenities are not that great. There is a restaurant downstairs, and the market is great for to-go and snacks. The pool is mid. The bed was comfy. The bathroom didn't have a fan, so we had to keep the down open to air it out. I checked in early, but the room wasn't ready. They were able to hold my bags downstairs by the sliding doors. Someone from the front desk was texting me updates, so that was really convenient.

Yelp
La comida sin sabir, comimos ensalada y fue pesima , el pulpo un robo carisimo y pequeño , el servicio lento , las margaritas de mala calidad , no recomiendo este lugar

Yelp
Rooms are noisy, doesn't matter if you are on the canal side or street side - high floor or low, just doesn't matter. Rooms are decent, location is great, the Riverview Bar & Grill is awesome. Best carne asada tacos and truffle fries ever!!! Bar seating area waiter was excellent!!!

Yelp
The location of this hotel is just perfect. There are plenty of restaurants around within walking distance. South beach is $13 Uber ride away. The actual hotel is pretty nice, you can tell it has been renovated recently but definitely there are some noticeable old elements that shows the age. For example the sink in the room and the faucets and the shower definitely need replacement. But overall it has been a great experience, the staff members are friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
Location-wise, this is one of the better hotel options in Miami. Hyatt hotels are usually some of the better bargains for lodging and this was a great find at a reasaonble price by miami standards. The hotel is under renovations so there is some construction going on but it will pay off in the long run. Had a night stay here on a Tuesday before my 311 cruise set sail the next day at the port. My room gave me a nice overview of the water, bridge, and shopping areas. The room is quite clean and neat. I also like the large lobby and lounging area. There were a few conferences here so people were trafficking in and out during my check-out. Don't know why the negative reviews as I was quite satisfied with my stay. With Hyatt as my primary hotel choice, I might find myself here again when I'm back in MIA.

Yelp
Hyatt You know you got that one person that really makes you shine because their light is so bright ! That person is Angie, hands-down my favorite. I had hurt my foot, and she went out of her way to find a baggie of ice for me, I appreciate people like this. Ingrid, Angie, Roal, Caesar and Miguel in the dinning room at breakfast. Made my visit at my Hyatt family hotel fabulous. Katherine in housekeeping was also amazing. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. I really enjoyed my sweet with the view overlooking the river. My bed and pillows were great, the shower could be updated for sure, but it is manageable. The room itself is LOUD because of all the noise coming from the river and traffic down below. The windows are quite thin and the adjoining door to the next room, I could hear clearly conversations in the music they were playing, very annoying. Thank God they give you earplugs. All in all I still enjoyed my visit. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Yelp
It was ok. I paid for the bigger king with a little extra room and that was nice but very average. Older. Not as clean as I prefer. Bathtub was maybe painted?? Chipping paint. Bathroom floor had hair on it.. It was ok for one night but I would not book here for an extended stay.

Steven N.

Yelp
Stay far away! You've been warned. Horrible customer service the front desk was rude dismissive and somehow unbelievably lost our reservation and were entirely unapologetic.

Yelp
I had a great experience with this hotel, which is smack dab in the middle of Miami. ** What's great ** Views of the river and the people cheating death by heading over an opening drawbridge Comfortable bed Super nice employees, especially at the bar It was only $133 a night (for the night I paid; I used Hyatt points for the other nights) Metromover stops really close by, and the walkway from it is entirely indoors. In fact, you can get here directly from the airport via Metrorail and Metromover for about $5, and probably faster than you could in a taxi/uber. ** Could use a lil work ** Breakfast buffet Rooms not brand spankin' new. Normally, this would be a 4-star property in my world, but I gotta give them the 5 due to getting far more than what you pay for!

Cal Surf R.

Yelp
Other than the beds that sag and the mismatched old pillows, that were in a " newly remodeled room" the hotel could of been a nice stay if it were not for Kiandra at the front desk who made the stay not very enjoyable. Kiandra's demeanor did not match up to any of your other employees. I guess one employees indifference does either make or break a stay!

Yelp
So bummed this Jan 2024 weekend to show up with dear friends who had booked adjoining rooms for us- to find we did not have adjoining rooms!!! Liars! Bad review as it was booked and verified 48 hr ago again but did not happen! Why book at all if they can't do as they say?!?! Our rooms are on17th floor and are Beautiful room. The other room is 4 rooms away! But still- hyatt members promised and did not happen - Shame on them! Update: they did feel bad and comped both breakfasts!! Thank you for that!

Yelp
A business trip brought me to this hotel. I cannot remember the last time I stayed at Hyatt. The lobby is open, spacious, clean, bright and quasi-modern. WiFi signal is strong. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. It's conveniently located downtown Brickell area, walking distance to great restaurants and bars. There's even a Whole Foods about 2 blocks away and it's a short Uber ride to South Beach. The downside it is located so close to the drawbridge and the noise from the traffic and the bridge raising is noticeably loud from your room, particularly if you have a front facing room with the view, like I did. I thought it was great when I checked in and they said it's a nice room with a view. Granted it did have a wonderful view, but the traffic noise is noticeable, a constant "thump, thump" when cars crossed the bridge. I'm surprised the windows weren't double paned; they did provide a "white noise" machine in the room as a distraction to the traffic noise. The room with a balcony is deceiving, you cannot access the balcony as the window is sealed--you have to admire your view through the dirty windows. The room was nice, clean, spacious and the king bed was very comfortable, but the overall room felt a little dated & worn. The desk lamp was placed on the lower corner against the wall and you couldn't reposition because of the design--the swing arm bangs into the wall. The Keurig coffee maker was also located on the desk, next to the light. If you're looking for something close to downtown, in town for business and convenient....the Hyatt could be for you.

Yelp
Great location with the water in back, tons of restaurants nearby within walking distance. I stayed here for a personal trip. Staff was really nice too and my valet was super helpful at recommending things in the area. Kind of pricy per night, but it's Miami, by the water with a lot of amazing views depending on your room. There is a pool, but I didn't end up using it. The facilities and room was clean and everything worked as well. I would recommend and stay here again.

Yelp
I've stayed at this hyatt 5-6 years ago and found it pretty run down the first time. I understand they did a remodel so was looking forward to seeing the changes. The rooms are pretty big but the main issues I had were 1. Bathroom looks pretty old and very tiny. Old school shower heads as well 2. Bed was in poor condition and sagged a lot 3. Had 4 pillows. 3 were too high and the last one was too thin. Other than that it isn't a bad hotel. However for a remodel I feel like the two most important things I would like to see is a nice bathroom/shower are and a nice bed. Location is excellent though and a lot of nice good options available. Staff extremely friendly as well. So a lot of positives to the hotel as well.

Yelp
I do not at all recommend staying in this location at all. I stayed here due to the fact our Wrestling event was connected to the venue. The room was beyond simple, our phone didn't work which was fine we're young and can go downstairs if needed. It was beyond loud being on the 17th Floor. I mean it was frat house loud until about 2am and our room neighbors we're blasting music nonstop ( not the hotels fault ) but still annoying. The next morning I had breakfast at the sit down restaurant below. I had the french toast with fruit and it was delicious. Probably the best bit of the hotel in general.

Yelp
We had to stay here prior to our Cruise departure. I really thought this hotel was in a great location. It is in the heart of the city and walking distance to many areas. The hotel itself does have a wonderful shopping store and bar and grill. However, I think the rooms themselves were a bit older than I expected. Very nice room, no major complaints. You are going to get the amenities you need and the service was good. However, just an older facility. But overall good stay.

Oscar S.

Yelp
Waiting for an eternity at hotel check-in felt like a crash course in patience. Despite the promising ambiance and polite staff, the extended wait tainted the overall experience. It's crucial for hotels to streamline their check-in process to avoid leaving guests feeling stranded in the lobby.

Yelp
My friend stayed here on a Miami layover. The hotel is in a great spot in downtown Miami right on the river, so very walkable to places downtown or in Brickell. It's right next to a Metromover stop (which is free), making getting around even easier. The hotel seems geared toward a business professional/convention crowd. The decor of the hotel and rooms was bright white and clean, what you would expect for a place whose guests are mainly staying there for work. The rooms have a nice view of either downtown or Brickell. I thought the beds were too firm, but if that's your thing, you're in for a treat here. The hotel bar has drinks at prices that weren't too pricey. The spicy margarita was very tasty. They have mac & cheese on their food menu from Miami's World Famous House of Mac. I recommend the jerk chicken mac & cheese.

Yelp
This week I was present at your Hotel for the ATA Conference. As a business owner and booth exhibitor, I was exhausted and overwhelmed at times but every single time I came across your valet service, specifically HARRY and FAVIO- I felt relief because they made it a point to provide a service with the utmost professionalism, ease and AMAZiNG customer service!! It impacted me so much that I am writing this email as I sit in the airport waiting for my flight back to NC so that I don't forget because they were THAT impressive. These gentlemen are an asset to the hotel. -Jenny Docurapid Corp.

Yelp
Room was ok, hotel is run down. Staff was not proud of where they work. Food was about as low budget as you can get. Don't eat at hotel, be sure to venture out as food in DT was amazing

Yelp
The location was great, with lots of restaurants nearby within walking distance. It had a decent pool and a nice spacious lobby with lots of power outlets for charging electronics or using a laptop. The road noise was unbelievable loud in my room on the 24th floor and by the pool. Granted, the pool is right by a major road, where crotch rockets scream down the road, and there is probably nothing to do to quiet down the pool area. It certainly isn't a tranquil pool area. But up on the 24th floor, really, the windows can't be soundproofed to keep the road noise out. I mean, my home is right by the interstate, and it is loud but quieter than this hotel. I could see why they equipped each room with a white noise machine, but even that didn't drown out the noise of the road noise 24 floors below me. This is ridiculous for the price of the room, over $1000 for three nights. I stayed here because the conference was being held here, but I'm sure the Courtyard by Marriott across the street wouldn't have had these outrageous noise issues. The conference facilities were nice, the WiFi was strong and stable, the market was good with variety but expensive, and the restaurant I never ate at due primarily, to cost. I priced other hotels initially but wanted to stay where the conference was being held. Might reconsider in the future as prices were much less for hotels that were just a block or two from this hotel.
google avatar

Christine T.

Yelp
Great location, I stayed here for a work trip. Staff was nice, we had a conference onsite, I have to say the conference facilities look dated, but the staff as I was a speaker there were very much on point making sure things ran smoothly from what I could see. Certainly a great stay with lots of good options to eat nearby too.

Yelp
3 stars= "ok"......let's go! Full disclosure- I read the reviews before I booked this hotel, and my expectations weren't great. Turned out that yes, this is as good as a 3 star hotel....wasn't the end of the world for me, as sustaining my Globalist status is super-important to me. On the flipside, if I was staying here on a personal (non-business) trip, I would be disappointed. Pros: - Location if being in D/T Miami is important to you (plenty in walking distance) - As others mentioned, the lobby area is well-done, inviting and comfortable - Front desk service Cons: - Nothing special about the room I had - I had a "junior suite" and it is a complete waste of space! (they basically took the furniture from a regular room, dumped it into a larger room and added a couch!).....poorly done - Bathroom is dated Would I stay here again? No. My preference (when staying in the Miami area) is the Confidante on Collins Avenue or the Hyatt in Coral Gables over this place.
google avatar

A. C.

Yelp
I only stay at Hyatt's and I must say this is worst Hyatt I have ever stayed at. I am on the 21st floor and I can hear the road noise as if I'm standing in the lobby. If you want to sleep at night, do not stay at this hotel.
google avatar

Maddie B.

Yelp
This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were gross and outdated. The bedding looked disgusting as well.. I swore there were bed bugs. They upgraded my room, but it didn't change much. I felt uncomfortable and ended up staying in a different hotel.
google avatar

Yelp
Date of stay: mid-October 2021 Arrival: Took a Lyft from MIA airport (~$20), was approximately a 15-30 min drive. I checked-in via the app and went directly to the room, but the digital key didn't work, so had to check-in at the front desk. Location: This is where the hotel shines! There's no need to rent a car if you're staying here. Many fantastic restaurants (and even a Whole Foods) within easy walking distance. *The* most amazing part, though, is the beautiful bay walk behind the hotel. LOVED taking a stroll down here in the evening; so relaxing. Room: Was upgraded to a large corner room on the 20th floor. Had absolutely beautiful water and city views, tons of natural light too. Bed was comfortable. Appreciated the background noise machine. Bathroom: Room was configured in that the bathroom sink/mirror was partitioned off with a 1/2 wall. Loved the Pharmacopeia bath products! However, the fixtures seemed very dated, and the tub was a tad small and grimy. Amenities: Pool had great skyline views and was well-maintained. No hot tub. Gym has an amazing fresh smell, but was very small. Overall, would definitely recommend for the location alone. The hotel itself is decent, but otherwise pretty generic. Room were also slightly outdated. But, did I mention the location? =]
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
The good: as you can see the rooms are very updated and modern. There are usb outlets so you don't need iPhone adapters, shower and bed was great. TV has capability of streaming your own subscriptions and the Wi-Fi was great The bad: - food at our conferences over 4 days was inedible and made most everyone sick. - the elevator situation is ridiculous, there are 2-3 working elevators. The hotel has 24 floors with I'd guess 20-30s rooms per floor. Routinely I would wait 15-20 minutes for an elevator and there was almost always a line
google avatar

Peonia E.

Yelp
For Stars because it was convenient, the room was clean and the experience was nice. Perhaps not the best place in Miami but pretty much par for the course for a larger hotel and it was right next to the convention center which is why I was in town for the Estoppa concert. Good shopping nearby convenient location and very accommodating staff made this stay quite enjoyable:-)
google avatar

Brittany O.

Yelp
Overall the Hyatt regency was nice and I would stay here again. I'm giving it three starts because of the amount of points a suite costs for what you got. The room was old so the fixtures, furniture, etc were also old and had a lot of use to them. The bathroom was probably the most disappointing in the wear and tear of the condition. Service was fine, no issues but nothing over the top. This hotel is in a great location and that's why I stayed here.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Prime location on the Miami River and in the heart of downtown. The lobby is nice and spacious. Pool is a good size. The fitness center is cozy and offers cooling towels and other amenities. The rooms in this 4-star hotel are unlike the rooms I've experienced in other 4-star hotels.

Yelp
The location is perfect, walking distance to most fine dining places in Brickell area. It is also easy to get a taxi or Uber from the hotel. However, the service was not up to the Hyatt standard. We had to ask for additional towels because there was not enough placed by housekeeping. Also there were not enough cups placed in the room. The reception desk asked us to go to the Starbucks in the lobby for extra cups because it took longer time to ask housekeeping to send some to our room. Not to mention that the room ran out of Kleenex and we had to ask to replace the empty Kleenex box two days in a row until it was finally replaced.... I guess the reception desk did not fully understand what we meant by Kleenex box or tissue box....... There was no drinking water fountain to refill our water bottle, which we consider as critical for Miami's toasting summer!!! The reception desk asked us to go to the business center at lower lever for water refill station but it was simply not functioning.... the staff working at business center gave us the look why you are coming here for water??!! But we indeed appreciated their help to get us drinking water from one of the conference rooms.... It is the reason for 3 stars given for our stay. In general, you would expect their reception staff know better about their own facilities instead of sending guests all over the place pointlessly. In addition, the room was not well sound proven. It could be super noisy at night if there happened to be a loud party on your floor.... We heard people talking and child screaming/running every single day during our stay.... the marketplace in the lobby is pricy. They charge $9 for a donut! It is crazy!!! Anyway, I would expect better service for the price charged.

Yelp
The hotel is extremely well-located and a good value for the price. It sits next to the heart of Brickell, one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Miami. It's pet-friendly and connects to both the Knight Center and the Metromover (free downtown monorail). It's close to museum neighborhood, the performing arts, nightclubs and the main office area of downtown. In design it is a typical John Portman Hyatt Regency, with a soaring atrium in the middle. The art and room amenities are superb. The service is good but not great. At this price point it beats the other mid to upscale chains hands down. Although the outside looks like 1978, the inside has been fully renovated and is filled with flashy art and sculpture. The best part is how close it is for business, nightlife, getting to the airport and getting to the cruise port. I recommend it all the time for friends leaving on cruises from Port of Miami. There's even a Wholefoods diagonally across the street. The neighborhood is quite safe, even after dark, as there has come to be a thick forest of tall condos plus clubs in the neighborhood. There are traffic jams on Friday and Saturday nights. If not during the height of summer, the best way to get around is the Metromover, which connects through a glass tunnel from the lobby to the Knight Center station.

Yelp
They completely remodeled the lobby. I remember there used to be lots of art. Now it's clean simple and basic but also kind of cheap looking. Rooms are nice. My friends got the suite for somewhere mid $200s per night which is not bad. The room was nice clean simple spacious. There were 2 balconies with view on the river only you're not able to open any windows or go into the balcony... The staff went out of their way. It ended up being an early night as someone got sick. On my way out I asked for a Tylenol and the front desk sent one up to the room without hesitation. Free bananas at the front desk btw :) Nice pool deck but limited sun time so get there early if you want to tan. Location is everything about this hotel, right on the border of downtown and Brickell - walking distance to everything. Parking in a paid parking building across. Convention center and metromover attached to this hotel!

Yelp
Not impressed at all! The location is good however as someone else mentioned- the valet parking is about $47 a day with the option to self park, which is under the bridge (good luck finding a parking spot) The room is outdated, unkept, and the fridge is on 3 legs out of 4 and tilts. The carpet feels filthy and the a/c sounds like an 18 wheeler. Not sure how Hotwire has this rated 4.1 or higher. This is a one and done.

Yelp
If there were an option, I'd give zero stars. I won't talk too much about the dated bathroom or the cockroach we saw because there are more notable things. TLDR: Rudely rushed out with no check-out extension, left brand new $200 running shoes in room, shoes never made it to the lost and found and management never followed up. Feels like an employee sold my shoes online. When we were checking out, a housekeeper stood outside of our door to rush us. Most hotels allow you to extend your check-out by an hour or two, but she was doing this right at standard check-out time. She stood there, knocked, and harassed us for twenty minutes as we rushed to get out of the room. In the process, I forgot my brand new $205 Hoka running shoes with inserts. They had been worn all of five times and were still perfectly white. They were sitting right by the wall in an obvious place. When we got to our other hotel, I realized I didn't have my shoes. I called the Hyatt, who told me to fill out a form and then wait until Saturday when "Lost and Found inventory would be updated." I immediately completed the form, then called back on Saturday and was told nothing had been found. We went in person to ask again because the shoes had been left in an obvious, visible place. They had us wait for over thirty minutes to be addressed. Once they did speak with us, they said they had no record of the shoes but would check who was working that day and follow up by the following Tuesday at the latest. However, we never heard back. I'm almost positive those shoes were sold online for a profit. And they're on back order now, so I haven't gone for a run since then. This was in June. If you stay here, be prepared to be out at 11:00 sharp, and don't leave anything behind.

Yelp
This is a very nice hotel, with a few glaring exceptions.. It's very popular for conventions (obviously), and is very well located downtown. The hotel's lobby is large and spacious and features a very expensive lobby bar and restaurant as well as a coffee shop. The staff is friendly, professional and helpful. Guest rooms are nicely sized and well appointed. The weak link here is the cleanliness of the rooms and the overuse of a heavily scent spray to mask odors. On three separate visits, the room floor needed vacuuming on two stays and on all occasions the use of the strongly scented spray was excessive. I endured long waits for housekeeping to come vacuum. It was very awkward as the housekeeper expected a tip for doing what was supposed to have been done already. The spray that was used to cover odors was overwhelming. The scent was close to triggering a headache. Perhaps the best way to deal with odors is to actually clean the room and furnishings? Just a thought... Great location in the middle of everything, but housekeeping needs to up their game several levels.

Yelp
This hotel should be ashamed to have the Hyatt name attached to it. This place is definitely not what we thought it was going to be for a one night stay. We arrived and our youngest son was not feeling that great so I placed an order for target to deliver some items for us so I could tend to him. We were located on the top floor which I could appreciate them giving us a view, even though it was for pools and hotels nearby, but I did appreciate the view nevertheless. The problem is they do not tell you that no one can deliver any items directly to your room. So we literally had to come down to pick up both our DoorDash and target order from the lobby. I asked if a bellhop could bring them up for us and was told rudely that they were busy. Interestingly enough when my husband made the trek all the way down from the 24th floor he actually was able to see the Bellhop taking up someone else's bags where the front desk stated they had just checked in. Why couldn't he just attach our bags to theirs. It was literally at the same time frame. But whatever. The room service food was good which is the reason for two stars however it was very pricey. The parking is a pain in the butt if you do not do valet, we had six bags with us and getting out in the parking garage is a pain as there are no disabled push buttons for the doors so you have to first pull or push open the doors and make your way down tiny stairs to get to the parking lot. That is after walking about half a mile just to get to the parking lot which is literally what feels like is across the street. For business people I think this would be an adequate hotel because you can walk to places to eat, there is a whole foods nearby and other places that we did not visit however it's not a great place for families at all. The bed was hard and they only give you two pillows for each bed which were really soft, but too soft so that you needed two more to prop up with. When I called the front desk to ask for my pillows I was told that there were none. I asked for towels had took about an hour to get them. The water pressure was OK in the shower however I noticed someone's leftover hair was stuck to the conditioner bottle. Yuck. We could not get the QR code to work so we could not access the menus for room service and when we called the room service number it had so much static that we could barely hear what the menu was as the lady read it to us. All in all, I love staying at Hyatt Place hotels but this Hyatt Regency fell short of what we wanted and what we needed for the night. I will never stay here again. I would also not recommend this place if you are coming with young children.

Yelp
Awe shucks!! Probably the most run-down Hyatt property I've stayed in!!! It's a solid 2 stars if it weren't for their beds!! And that one cup coffee! Came here from my usual spot across the street at W!Impulsively: I left after one night. Moved to Hyatt Centric Sobe and Lowe's. I mean why not!!! This massive property is right smack in Brickell! Right next to the bridge that goes up almost every half hour for boat traffic. Getting in and out of here in an uber is a hot mess. Love- I had a super early check in! (Yey platinum perks) And gotta love that 2 pm check out. The lobby has massive high ceiling, a bar, cafe and riverwalk restaurant. Which can be quite pretty for that boat watch! The lobby having several microwaves however isn't classy! Brings it way down! Makes it feel more like an economy hotel! My room was on the 12th floor sadly. Couldn't get anything higher for early check in. The rooms are always clean but it can use updating!! The bed is my favorite. My balcony doors won't open!! Enjoyed the boat views from inside! For room service: I saw breakfast menu! Didn't quite notice the rest but plenty of food delivery services here. The only complaint is getting to Sobe from here with an uber! Takes an eternity!! Or anywhere during the day really! Or night! Love the bed, the views and part of the lobby. Not the small pool or difficulty of getting in and out with the uber. Overall, good. Not great.

Yelp
The hotel is undergoing renovations since I last visited and it's looking nice. Service is exceptional all around from check-in, to breakfast, bar and housekeeping. There were lots of little touches that were appreciated. Walking into check-in there were salsa dancers playing and a delicious smelling taco bar, vibrant music and colorful lighting on the walls. It had sort of a nightclub feel. That said, the lighting on the floor is kind of cheesy with the cords being taped over etc... hopefully that's a temporary solution while they renovate, installed led lighting from the ceiling would look more high-end. The check-in attendant was GREAT, Priscilla I think it was, she wrote down the most fun spots in town that she recommended and sent me off with a glass of champagne. It was a very warm welcome. The elevators can be a little glitchy, but eventually get you to where you are going .... just make sure to have your room key available before you catch the up elevators. As for the room itself, it was in great shape and very clean. The bed, super comfortable and on the firm side. Housekeeping left me a note introducing her name, should I need anything later. Nice touch there. Sleeping was just OK, though, as the noice in the hallway carried loudly into the room and most of all, the doors on the rooms are very heavy and SLAM shut loudly, it's startling throughout the night so that wasn't the best. They do have white noise machines in the rooms, I'm guessing to help remedy the sound thing. I found the room rates at $169 including breakfast a good value and their breakfast buffet is my favorite breakfast buffet - coming from Vegas, that's a good compliment. They have a quality, fresh and wide selection and a perfect way to start the day. On this trip they were renovating, but I'm sure that noice/ladders/equipment will be out of the dining room soon and just a good experience will be left without construction. Other notes: Proximity of the hotel to the people mover will get you around the city fast and easy. The room temperature was set nice and chilly when I arrived, coming out of the hot humidity, that was A+! Although you can't open the balcony, the river look rooms have good views. The outdoor overlook downstairs on the river also makes a nice place for a walk, as well.

Yelp
Great experience staying at the Hyatt Regency Miami! It's located in the Brickell area of Miami, and about a 15 minute ride to South Beach or $17 via Lyft/Uber. It's a 12 minute ride w/o traffic to the airport. I stayed here over Labor Day Weekend. The normal check-in time is 4pm but I called in a day before and I let them know that I was flying in early around 6am and asked about early check-in. They let us check-in super early with no extra charge or hassle. The rooms were clean and the beds were nice and comfy. The only thing was that the bathrooms don't have a blower. The Hyatt has a pool, ballroom, restaurant and bar. I honestly didn't get a chance to check out the amenities since I was out and about but it's convenient to have for the guests. The concierge was nice and let us store our luggage on our last day after we had already checked-out since our flight wasn't until the evening. We had a great stay at the Hyatt and their staff was very accommodating! Thank you!

Yelp
This hotel needs to modernize. The service was satisfactory and the room was comfortable and clean. I stayed here for a conference and quickly found that there weren't too many places near by to go eat lunch or dinner. The conference center was nice. The rooms were plenty big and accommodations were met quickly.

Yelp
One of the nicer hotels in the financial district. Hyatt is that brand that people seem to associate with a better place to stay at. There are things around the area. It's at striking distance to some nice restaurants, bars and a shopping spot. The rooms,, I have a bed with posh sheets and pillows. I get a window as well, in case I want to look out and ponder like if I was in the movies. An armchair if I'm to do some reading of sorts. There's a rest with a swivel chair, if I'm to do some work. A television on top of a cabinet. The bathroom has nice soft towels. The shower squirts water out it. There's a tub if I'm to fancy a soak. The toilet flushes. There's a sink and faucet with a giant mirror. This place is super complete if you ask me. The pool area which me and a colleague spent some time chatting and drinking before going to bed, I found a bit noisy. The channel and the bridge does a combination of traffic and boat noise. Specially the loud type of transports. You know, the obnoxious 1,500 watt system equipped with the show off driver. Then there's a cars with the ridiculously loud exhaust systems too. Anyways,, the hotel by itself is really nice. It serves it's main purpose. A place for me to put my head down at the end of the day so I may kick butt the next day. Thank you for reading my review. I hope this helps. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Yelp
Stayed here for four nights last week, I also remember staying here exactly 10 years ago. I thought it was just average hotel 10 years ago, but now I think they have serious planning issues. On Sunday, lobby was filled with people without a room until late at night. I heard they had a group of Delta airline employees checked out late, they were still cleaning rooms. I checked in on my app so my room was available but my colleague had to wait 3 hours. I stayed up until 11:30pm with him to make sure but I was really tired all day next day. Some waited until 1am for their room to be ready. Room credit they gave wasn't enough to pay for dinner at a hotel restaurant. They didn't provide any food or drinks while waiting. Room on the end of building was spacious. Try to book the room number ends with either 01 or 41. Housekeeping left a note to fill out to request from them, I left a note but my request was never filled after two days of waiting. I think they are understaffed at housekeeping department. There was always a wait at the front desk. Delta airline employees get priority at the front desk. When they arrive, others have to wait longer. Front desk is understaffed. They did nothing about it. Catering staff needs additional training or better planning as well. Location was great. Walking distance to some restaurants, free monorails to the area. While running outside one morning, I saw many hotels nearby. If my travel brings to the area, I would look for elsewhere.

Yelp
Great hotel. No complaints once so ever about the hotel or their awesome staff. Unfortunately the bums, crackheads and homeless people that hang out at the door is a big problem. I've stayed here several times but this stay will be my last due to that problem. Everytime you walk out the door to leave you take a big chance of being Harassed by crackheads and the hotel does nothing about it.

Yelp
Hospitality top notch. The location was downtown with just a 10 min Uber ride you're in South Beach. The decor was simple, modern and nicely done. They have a restaurant you can sit in. They have a market where you can get breakfast from. They have a lounging area with plenty of charging outlets built in the seats. The back of the hotel has their own little private channel where sits a sign that you may spot manatees swimming in. We didn't see any though. However, our room had a FAKE balcony. Basically, we thought we had a balcony but the window door didn't open. And the a building was blocking our view of the channel. Other than that, what a magnificent stay for such a great rate with no hidden fees. Thank you so much!

Yelp
The hotel lobby area and services were excellent. The rooms are dated and old. Would not be a first choice but the location is ok.. Expected more for the price paid per night... It really depends on why you are in Miami.. If for business it's ok for pleasure leisure not so much

Yelp
Our stay at a previous hotel was terrible and we switched over after extending our trip for another two days. Everything was absolutely great UNTIL I noticed I was charged an extra $250 for a smoking fee when NOBODY smoked in the room!! My partner specifically went outside, every single time he was going to smoke, with his cigars and ashtray. Called the hotel and asked to speak to someone about it and they wouldn't budge on anything. Told them they can even check the cameras from the two days we stayed there and they can clearly see my partner walking in and out of the room with this ashtray and smoke OUTSIDE in the smoking section. All they had to go on is a housekeeper who said it smelled like smoke in the room which it absolutely NEVER did and also because she saw his ashtray with a cigar on it when we stepped out and they serviced the room. Not to mention, they charged me three days AFTER my checkout, not the day of and without notifying me.

Yelp
Pretty decent hotel. Friendly staff. However, due to COVID-19 room service goes every 4 days, I would think they would go more often to maintain everything accordingly. Evaluator are disinfect, mask I required. Furthermore, a downside about this hotel is they have you pay $10 per day for parking! Sucks!!! Because it limited us from going out has we would have liked because we were basically getting charged everytime we moved the car.

Yelp
Got a great deal on Orbitz flight and hotel bundle. I was nervous after reading the older reviews, but really loved my check-in experience and room. The check-in clerk was very efficient and polite, and checked me in briskly with just my photo ID and credit card for incidentals since I already prepaid via Orbitz. I also liked interacting with the peppy, knowledgeable concierge desk the next morning. I really like the decor and the open layout of the room with low walls to provide separation and privacy. Grateful to see the safe in the room. I was pleasantly surprised to find everything working well in my room. The view of the urban towers is awesome. Liked being able to walk to my conference venue. The bed, pillows and linens were comfortable, but the mattress is on the firm side. Free WIFI does not require password to login, and is of moderate speed. I would prefer to see some shelves in the closet area for my shirts, and maybe even a shoe rack. Would also appreciate a drinking fountain with a bottle filler. The street noise can be disruptive. The breakfast buffet at $20 is good value if you order eggs, but I do not appreciate having 18% gratuity already incorporated into my bill. The potatoes were a bit dry and stiff, and I am not a fan of the chicken sausage that tastes like chicken loaf. But they make eggs to order at no charge and the smoked salmon, berries and bacon are awesome. If the rest of the hotel has updated to my experience, I will surely enjoy my next visit.

Yelp
I have not been to this Hotel in such a loooong time and this past Wednesday I went for a Wine Tasting event. They offered valet parking at a "special rate" of $20.00 and once I left my car, I went into this nice and impeccable lobby. Of course, I didn't know where to go jajaja, so I asked the concierge and he kindly took me to the stairs and showed me where the event was. Check out the video I posted, that was me going down the escalators. The room was so organized, the Hotel's staff was extremely nice to all of us as we were there for a couple of hours. The restrooms were neat. Free WiFi. Thank you. Gracias.
