People Are Pissed Over Andrew Zimmern’s Minnesota Crawfish Boil Tweet | Eater New Orleans

"To commemorate Louisiana’s Tricentennial, the Hyatt Regency is offering an 8-inch, gold leaf-dotted $300 cake made with São Tomé chocolate; the cake is not an impulse buy and must be ordered 48 hours in advance." - Stephanie Carter

First of all there is no such thing as digital checkin like the app states. I prefer skipping the counter and using digital keys. The design of the place was like walking through an airport to get to your room and the elevators are a disaster after having to take 2 flights of escalators. The rooms were small and our dated. No vents in the bathrooms. The mattresses will kill your back, they are as hard as a brick. Omg me and my guest could not sleep. The towels in the bathroom were even hard. Back to the bed, you can feel the springs digital into your back with a hard bottom as if you were laying on a bed of rocks on the ground. Valet attendants were very nice and gentlemen. I will definitely have to get a message tomorrow to relieve this pain.

To be honest, the hotel is a bit old, and when you first walk in, even inside the room, you can smell a slight musty odor. However, the maintenance is actually quite good, and everything throughout the hotel looks clean. The staff were very friendly. We arrived a little after 10 a.m., and the front desk still let us check in early and even upgraded us to a Deluxe Suite, which was great. The hotel is quite large, so the rooms aren’t the easiest to find, but when we got into the elevator, a very enthusiastic gentleman helped us with the buttons, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was average. Pretty similar to most Regency lounges. And this Regency itself seems to be at least 40–50 years old, with the classic big open atrium that many Regencies have; it still looks pretty nice. Our room was on the 27th floor, and we had a view of Caesars Superdome, so the scenery was not bad at all. Overall, it was a decent stay.

Google
We were in New Orleans to go to an NBA game. The Hyatt Regency is a very easy walk. We could see the are arena through the hallway window when we got off the elevator which made us even more excited about getting to the game. The hotel is also convenient to a stop for the hop on/hop off bus that takes you all around the city. The hotel restaurants had great food. ||The room was super clean. The view of the sunset from our room was spectacular. The bedding the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The staff so friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel, area, and city. The one thing I would change would be to have better water pressure.

Google
Sheets were clean, towels were fresh and staff was friendly and informative. There is a starbucks on the 2nd floor and 3 restaurants in the building. The parking garage is attached and can self park. Chick flia next door and Dave n busters. Stayed here 3 times and each time the service and quality was outstanding. Would stay again.

Google
Awesome experience as it was my first NFL game. Walking distance from the superdome and the internal resturant was very good. Breakfast was pricey but excellent as it was buffet style but many items were made to order! The views from the 22nd floor were jaw-dropping!

Google
Spent the holiday season at Hyatt Regency New Orleans and had such a great time. The spacious Superior Suite was the real MVP and made it possible to keep all our usual holiday traditions. Aubrey at Rizzuto's Prime (located attached to the hotel - so convenient) provided amazing service for us on Christmas Eve + their daily oyster happy hour from 3–6 PM can't be beat! Good location with onsite parking, perfect for those that want to walk to the Dome or uber into the Quarter. 10/10 recommend!

Google
Had a very lovely stay! It’s great if you don’t want to be too close to all of the Bourbon St crowds. It’s very close to the Superdome if you are attending an event there. The restaurants and bar inside of the hotel of amazing. Vitascope is a sports restaurant in the hotel that has some amazing burgers! We ate there twice they were so good. You can catch an Uber or taxi and be to Bourbon St in about 5 min, or pay $3/day or $8/ 3 days for the trollies, buses, and ferries on an app called Le Pass. Totally worth it.

Google
Great venue. While rooms themselves were modernized, there were a few things that were not okay. For example, the circa 2006 ipod player alarm clock. There also aren't microwaves in the rooms. There is a communal one on each floor

Yelp
The elevators are a bit unusual -- you select your floor before approaching the elevator bank, and then you're directed to a specific cart. Just a heads-up: don't hop in with a group headed elsewhere, or you may end up riding around longer than expected. The food provided at breakfast and lunch was flavorful and surprisingly healthy. We enjoyed everything from a make-your-own trail mix bar and protein shots to roasted root vegetables and a spicy hominy soup. I genuinely liked it all. My only wish is that the gym's weight area were larger; however, there are plenty of treadmills with a great view overlooking the city and the Superdome. Overall, it's an excellent venue and conveniently located near all the must-see tourist spots.

Yelp
Very friendly and helpful from the time we walked in. Great location to all the spots you may want see ... walk or Uber it ... not too expensive... the breakfast buffet at the hotel is HUGE !! Everything you want or can think of ....it seems pricey but if you eat at a breakfast place in any city it costs a little more .... And upon check in you get a $15 discount on your room charge. Room was adequate .. a little dated but clean ... no complaints .... If I had a complaints I sure would tell you... Parking close by for a daily charge...you can take the Elevator to the Hotel...

Yelp
I am here for a conference. Hotel rooms need amake over- they are very dated. First day here I, got lost several times, they give you a map but it really isn't helpful. They first put me in a handy capped room, I asked for a new room since I'm a tall person and everything was closer to the ground. Staff was very nice and gave me another room. The elevators were not explained to me either. There are small screens that you have to find your floor number and it will tell you which elevator to go to. There were not any up or down arrows at the elevator, and you couldn't select the floor you wanted once you got into the elevators. There is no elevator that I found that will go down to the lobby. I had to use two accelerators. It wasn't easy to use them with all my luggage. They had three redeeming qualities : 1. It was a clean place and the staff was very nice. 2. The food at the conference was really good. 3. They had a Starbucks inside the conference part of the hotel.

Yelp
The hotel's lobby and interior (outside of the actual rooms) is beautiful, massive, and self contained world within itself. There's an elegant breakfast buffet that's served in the mornings. There's sports bar is top tier, there's a full service Starbucks, convenience store, and rental/concierge service right in the lobby. I do look all the amenities the hotel provided us for free. I will say staff was amazing and accommodating. The view of Ceaser is always chef's kiss. The glass elevator was exciting but to some frightening. Now the rooms.. sigh. I hate the wardrobe right there when you come in the door. The lighting is really bad (has a yellow tint) The room was a little dated and worn but it was still comfortable and clean. And again they did and offered us everything to make our stay comfortable.

Yelp
After leaving another hotel (the Ritz) because they failed to honor our reservation (because I got too good of a deal), we looked online for another hotel late, late on a Thursday night in New Orleans for the weekend. The Hyatt Regency on Loyola and Poydras was perfect. They honored our rate, gave us extra room credit when we shared the story about the Ritz and took good care of our car via the valet service. The room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. So convenient. Used the streetcar pass to head to Tulane University for the New Orleans Book Festival. Mardi Gras for the Mind. At breakfast, we saw so many authors over the course of the next three days. It was nice to be able to chat with them briefly as the Hyatt was the host hotel. One of the authors, whose book sold out, even told me about a local bookstore in Boston where we could order her book and then she would sign it and send it to my daughter. Sometimes when life throws you a curveball it is because there is a plan just waiting to happen instead. Thanks for the VIP service at the Hyatt. We will be back.

Yelp
Out of my many visits to this amazing city, I've stayed at 3 hotels and this one may be my least favorite. The good. I like the location. On a nice day, a 10-15 minute walk will take you to Canal Street and the French Quarter. Prior to staying here, I stayed in the French Quarter and it was nice walking and discovering new areas on my way to that area. Although I didn't eat at the hotel, I did appreciate the food options available to hotel guests. The bad. I had trouble figuring out the elevator system here. I've stayed at numerous hotel with these more advance systems and never encountered the trouble I did with these elevators. When I asked for assistance, the employee I found near the elevators, was rude and talked down to me. I found the employees at the check-in desk to not be friendly either. The rooms are in need of a facelift and don't mirror the modern decor of the communal areas of the hotel. All in all, I'd prefer not to stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
Right in the heart of downtown with plenty of places to eat and walkable to the sports arenas for the Pelicans and Ceasers. On a nice day, some are walkable; otherwise just hop in an Uber. There are several restaurants here but only Block 8 was open for breakfast. I do know that later in the day, the other restaurants were open and they were packed when checking it. Hotel is huge and holds conventions/conferences. The queen room was clean and comfortable. The blackout curtains need replacing in 2452. Looks like someone has poked holes in them. They have a buffet breakfast that features an omelette station. So good! Then there's a spread of smoked salmon, pastries, eggs, bacon, chicken sausage, variety of breads and fresh juices including carrot and a green juice. If in the area, stop in and stay. Let me know your thoughts.

Yelp
Stay: February 2025, 3 nights Stayed at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans for a short trip, and overall, it was a great experience. This place is huge, so it's definitely built to handle big crowds. Check-in was seamless, which is always a plus. But be prepared for a bit of a walk to your room. After check-in, you take an escalator up three floors, then weave past restaurants and bars before finally getting to the guestroom elevators. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note if you're hauling luggage or just tired from a long day. The elevator system, though? Super efficient. Instead of the usual "stop on every floor" ride, you punch in your floor number on a general keypad, and it assigns you to one of about eight elevators. Makes for a much smoother trip up. My room was spacious and clean, which is really all I ask for in a hotel stay. Like most big hotel chains, they've swapped out the mini toiletries for large pump bottles. I don't mind that switch, but no lotion in the room? That was a bummer since I usually pack light on toiletries. The guestroom hallways are pretty dark, and the carpet could use an update. But aside from that, I had a pleasant stay. The hotel is within a 10-15 min walking distance to many restaurants. I felt safe walking to and from on my own, so go out and explore! If you're in NOLA, the Hyatt Regency is a solid choice.

Yelp
This is a convention hotel near the Superdom. It's about a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter. This hotel had a nice breakfast which you do not see as much anymore. My issue was the bed was dumpy and lumpy and clearly should have been replaced. Staff were friendly. The room was cleaned but you need to advise the front desk. The rooms are decent sized.
google avatar

Lizzie B.

Yelp
Enjoyed my stay while at a conference. The room was clean and I felt safe as a solo traveler. Plenty of in-hotel dining and places to work. Make sure to face the elevator doors if you're scared of heights! I did have some issues with billing - was charged for a valet service I didn't use and even after bringing it up to the desk upon check out (then telling me they would remove it), I was still charged. Needed to call a customer service agent to get a refund, but never got a confirmation email, just the refund in my bank account. (Normally, not an issue, but things get tricky using a company card.)

Yelp
Very nice hotel! Loved having a Starbucks inside as well as several restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. It is within walking distance of the Super Dome so it is super convenient. Parking to arrive was busy because it was game day but the valet staff were outstanding. What a bunch of really nice people- this was my first visit to New Orleans.

Yelp
I'm loyal to Hyatt, and I picked this Hyatt due to its proximity to the Superdome, where the night concerts were taking place for Essence Fest. It's not far from the French quarter and Bourbon Street either. As a World of Hyatt member, my check-in was fast and smooth, and I was given a high floor corner room. I also got free drinks and a $15 voucher for the restaurants on site. Can't ask for anything more than that out of a check-in! This is a huge hotel. My room was on the 23rd floor. The room was very clean and modern, with a walk-in closet. I also had a spectacular view of the Superdome. Throughout my visit, the staff was very friendly. My friend and I ended up stopping at the hotel bar you have to walk by to get to the elevators multiple times on our visit to get our drinks from Hannah at the bar. Actor Taye Diggs was staying at the hotel, and he stopped to get his drinks from Hannah as well. My friend and I also stopped in the restaurant Vitascope Hall a couple of times for great food and drinks and to chat with the bartenders there. This was the most pleasant staff I have encountered at any hotel. And since it was New Orleans, they knew they had to step it up food wise, and you do get delicious food at Vitascope. This Hyatt Regency is another Five Star Hyatt Hotel. I'm looking forward to coming back next time I am in NOLA.

Yelp
This is a very modern and elegant hotel in New Orleans. The room was average, there were definitely no "wow" factor, but the rest of the hotel is definitely a step up compared to the room. There are plenty of good food options, in addition there's a Starbucks at the property as well.
google avatar

Karina U.

Yelp
I was here for a conference and Strand 13 had such a terrible smell in it that we had to change rooms. We did that and it was fine... then lunch was served and the fish stunk so bad that I didn't dare try it. Turns out my colleague said it was an inedible brick. The conference area is a maze with stairs to one level and elevators to another and escalators to a third (makes no sense). And finally, if you're here for a conference, expect Starbucks to have your drink ready in 20 minutes after you get in line (not an exaggeration).
google avatar

Ambirr M.

Yelp
The staff was great the bar area and vegan options were really good. The hotel looks amazing inside and out.

David C.

Yelp
The Hyatt and their staff provided us with some of the best customer service I have ever seen regarding our trip earlier in October. I would highly recommend this hotel when enjoying New Orleans. They have your back!

Melanie C.

Yelp
2 words BED BUGS!!! Beware of this hotel!!!!!! Horrible experience just fortunate to realize so I didn't infest my home. Multiple bites and stains on sheets. Management or the person we told did not care. I'd never stay here never!!!

Yelp
I recently stayed here a few nights for a work conference which was also being held in this hotel. It's a massive property with 28 floors, with nearly 1200 rooms and many rooms and square footage of conference space. The food provided for the conference meals was just OK, nothing was flavored very well and the temps were typically cooler rather than hotter. The staff in the hotel were really friendly and helpful. They also have several dining options and a decent lobby bar area. The room was very comfy and appeared to be clean and was definitely kept up very nicely during my stay. I noticed the bedding was changed out, as well as towels being replaced and the bathroom being cleaned daily. Location is decent, not too far from the touristy, "Bourbon St" area, yet far enough away to avoid the noise, the nasty smells, and the trouble makers in that area. I'm a heavy Bonvoy loyalist, with my backup being Hilton. But based on this stay, I wouldn't mind returning to a Hyatt Regency for a conference and stay in the future.

Yelp
Not great service from the explorist Asian lady who kept fucking up getting us into our room. Shower temp was scaulding hot or ice cold. No in between. No fans in the bathrooms either for of us or shower steam. Was embarrassing for a Hyatt and I travel 1/3 of the weekends to each year. Giving it 3 stars instead of 2 because: A: the bar upstairs across from the restaurant was killer. Same as the mistletoe bar. Both were on point always!! B: the view from the gym was great same as the gym!!!
google avatar

Preston I.

Yelp
Had a great experience at this hotel. Customer service was on point. The bars and other amenities on site were luxurious. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Great location in the CBD within walking distance to bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.
google avatar

Kae W.

Yelp
I will always stay at this Hyatt hotel when I visit New Orleans. For years I've stayed at Air BnB during my travels, but I wanted a hotel stay for room service, location, accessibility, & Hyatt Regency New Orleans offered all that & MORE. I appreciate the hospitality, & learning experiences during my stay, I'm officially a World of Hyatt member. Side note: I come to NOLA with Beignets & Chargrilled oysters on my mind. I devoured both & enjoyed the bar on the 2nd floor, across from the restaurant!
google avatar

Mahmut E.

Yelp
Very clean hotel, hotel staff was very very helpful. However, it is weird that after the lobby you need to take two escalators to get to the room elevators. Internet worked fine, there is fridge in the room. TV has a good number of channels. Room cleaning is only when requested. There is a coffee shop, a restaurant, a sandwich shop, and a brunch place. Also gift shop. Elevators were interesting, you need to punch your floor number on a screen before getting in the elevator.

Kid D.

Yelp
This hotel lobby is like a movie or something so glam and over the top. The staff is always cordial and the rooms can be tiny but the bathrooms layout is awkward to me. I do feel this hotel can use some updating especially the couches in the lobby has seen better days. To get to the rooms is kinda tricky and also the elevator usage is also a head scratcher. I would love to know the history of design of this place. The views are nice from the room my curtains didn't open all the way needs repairs. But To see the super dome from your window knowing what people went through there during hurricane Katrina is mind blowing. This place u are either gonna love it or leave it. Yall tell me , I guess I will stay here again.
google avatar

Tom K.

Yelp
Great location to many restaurants and the sports arenas. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious with good views. The brunch was amazing!! This location is now my go-to for NOLA!!
google avatar

Kenson K.

Yelp
The French quarter is within walking distance from here . There Is a homeless encampment a few blocks away so then something to be aware of for your safety. Other than that , the rooms are nice and clean and we enjoyed our stay there. The property in general is well maintained, something that is expected of any Hyatt regency.
google avatar

Cassie M.

Yelp
Went to a new Orleabs girls club event here! It's a cute space, the staff was very friendly and attentive, and I enjoyed the food and drinks!

Jim K.

Yelp
Rooms are tiny and need some renovations. Shower fell apart during our stay. Got back to the room and the soap bar just fell off. Hardly any water in the toilet and the sink was backed up. At least the restaurants were solid and there was a cool view of the SuperDome from the room.
google avatar

Kasey K.

Yelp
This place is great! Check in was so fast even on Mardi Gras weekend! Housekeeping was on top of their game, with the exception of not knocking before walking into our room. They have Starbucks which is helpful! The elevators were extremely slow though! Parking garage connected to 2nd floor was nice as well.

Gemma N.

Yelp
The best Hyatt Regency I stayed! Gregory and Alexis arranged a quiet room for me with an open view and had things I needed in the room including a microwave before I checked in, to reduce exposure to people once I checked in. Extra towels and blankets I needed were inside a plastic bag, and they offer big bottles of water. The room in the corner almost felt like a palace, with incredible views, an entrance area with a wall, a dining area with a table and tall chairs, a couch and TV area, a bed area, and a bathroom. Staying in a large place definitely helped my functioning while dealing with difficult tasks during this trip. The hotel has beautiful stairs with lighting and a piano at the end, a perfect place for a bride to walk down. I pictured my friend getting married there, which perhaps needs booking the whole hotel for the night to stop the elevators during the wedding or so. The point is that it was so beautiful. A noise from AC kept me from sleeping one night: came in every 30 minutes and stayed for about 15-20 minutes. But a technician fixed it the next morning. I felt somewhat uncomfortable that he seemed eager to know from where I came, but I informed the managers of his behavior, and I trust that the managers will handle it. I hope they will keep offering this exceptional service so that I or people like me can stay there and survive and function for difficult work trips.

Yelp
The hyatt Regency was the host hotel for our work conference. It's a pretty large hotel with their own things like starbucks and a full service restaurant that had a delicious seafood gumbo. They also had a pool that had a bar available. I had some issues with checking in since I had three separate reservations. Throughout my stay I had to keep visiting the desk and Check in /out which was a pain. Also, I did not like that. Our room had fridge but no microwave. Their response time for request was pretty quick. We had a leak in our bathroom and maintenance. Was there within 10 minutes to fix it all I did was send a text to the hotels number and got in touch with housekeeping in room surface, which was kind of cool for the Conference portion itself the rooms were huge and the ballrooms were nice but they were uncomfortably cold. So if you are visiting to attend workshops or anything similar, bring a jacket or a sweater. Are there like how the location of the hotel is centralized downtown. Plus they had refillable water stations throughout the hotel, which was good because you need to stay hydrated and New Orleans heat. The staff was pretty friendly. I will say getting used to the elevators there took a few days there are no buttons inside the elevator you have to Type in your floor on a keypad first in order for the elevator to get to you which was pretty cool but it was also time-consuming since they have 20+ floors. Overall, I would say I would stay here again especially my company pays for it!
google avatar

Tamie F.

Yelp
Beautiful property and a great location for sporting events at the Superdome and Smoothie King Center. Everyone from front desk to wait staff are all very friendly. The hotel has many good dining options and the breakfast buffet was pretty decent. If they had a charger for my EV I would absolutely give 5 stars. However, I loved this property so much I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. A 15 minute walk to downtown. The rooms are comfy and cozy. Clean. Nice views. Quiet. Everything you need for a good nights rest. And they have two complimentary bottles of water in the room

Yelp
****BEDBUG ALERT****** EATEN ALIVE by bedbugs. 50+ bites, tried calling management, left voicemails, no response. They even went as far as continuously sending me to a robot menu when I demanded a manager. AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE FEASTED UPON!!!!!

Yelp
Surprised (as of November 2023) this hotel rating (overall) is only three stars? Let's go: First impressions: - Check-in staff was super nice/friendly and made us welcome - Lobby is clean/modern Walking to our room: - The hotel is massive, and it reminded me of a Vegas property - Was good to see many bar + food + restaurant options (however being this is NOLA, no- we had no plans to eat at our hotel) Our room: - Typical Hyatt Regency (if you know, you know)- and for me, this is a good thing Location: - We go to NOLA for purposes of Tulane University, so where we stay D/T isn't super important to us - This is (obviously) the ideal spot if you are going to the Superdome - It is fine in terms of locality to the French Quarter, however- you may want to look elsewhere, if your plan is to be in the French Quarter Would I stay here again? - Yes! Would you like it? - Avoid if massive hotels are not your think, or if you want to be right in/near the French Quarter
google avatar

Gabby E.

Yelp
If you're in NOLA to attend sporting events at the Superdome or Smoothie Center this hotel is the best location you can have within walking distance of both. We ubered to the French and Garden areas for $9-12 a trip for 6 people. We from Jackson square once back and I don't recommend it because it was exhausting lol. Never felt unsafe anywhere walking around during the day or at night. Starbucks is available to order ahead and they were great! The bar was decent food although the gumbo was really good! TVs everywhere and drinks so can't complain about the atmosphere. The restaurant breakfast buffet is not worth it. $25 for a fancy continental breakfast when you have so many local options was a regret. Service there could improve greatly. The hotel rooms were lovely. It was helpful to have a Chick fil a right outside for my teens.

Yelp
Hotel was very clean and staff was very friendly. Was the perfect location for attending events at the Smoothie King Center and Super Dome

Yelp
We had a nice one night stay here with a great price for The Crescent City Classic. This was race headquarters & the huge race Expo was downstairs. I was stunned we also got the earliest check in ever at a hotel which was really helpful since we flew in arriving at 10:30am. For only a $15 upgrade fee we checked in at 10:40am to a king corner room. It had a great view, a walk in closet & decent sized bathroom. Bed was comfy. This hotel is HUGE. So we got lost often! Weird elevator system. One escalator not working. They do have bars & restaurants & we actually had a pretty decent $20 lunch buffet there. Staff was friendly. Starting line & staging area for race were out front. It was a great choice for us. No complaints.
google avatar

Bradley A.

Yelp
We had a great experience. Quick check in. Classy restaurants downstairs. Room was clean, quiet and perfect. Friendly employees. Enjoyed our trip.

Yelp
Beautiful property!! Very clean and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this location!
google avatar

Nicole T.

Yelp
The system where you put in your floor number and get assigned a specific elevator doesn't work if it assigns everyone to the same elevator and it's repeatedly full, forcing you to re-input your floor number and get sent to a different elevator and lose your place in line over and over again.

Yelp
I booked room last minute on St Patrick's weekend and my stay was great . Room was clean and comfortable and cozy . Common areas very clean . Staff was attentive and on point . I ate in the restaurant at the hotel food was great and so was service . I will definitely stay here again when I come back to town .

EM B.

Yelp
I haven't stayed here before but was pleasantly surprised. The staff is amazing and super friendly and helpful- and I mean everyone. From front desk, to restaurant employees to valet and bellman- everyone. I found my room to be super comfortable- great air conditioning and good bed and bedding . Room was clean as well. The hotel location is walkable to French quarter, but there is a Streetcar stop right out front of hotel that drops you off on Decatur and all you do is walk down Decatur and voila, you're in the quarter and right at Jackson Square and Cafe Du Monde. We walked all over before walking back to hotel ( daytime) felt safe the whole time. I would uber at night, but daytime was no issues at all. There are also some really cool restaurants in the area of the hotel if you're not interested in heading to the French quarter. I would highly recommend and would stay here again. Great stay!

Yelp
So the place LOOKS nice on the inside and out but there are some huge caveats. The room we had was tiny and the paint in the bathtub was peeling and coming off when bathing or showering. The pop up Christmas bar was OK, typical pop up prices of $14+ a drink. The bar on the 3rd floor double charged me so I had to go get a refund; so double check your card after paying. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous, It's impossible to reach someone when calling the hotel; if you press 0 for an operator it just rings and no one ever picks up. There are no options to reach the front desk at all, none. When we reached HR (I think, it was an accident) we asked to be transferred to security (details coming) and instead she hung up on us. Housekeeping: they threw out a box next to the device we had that was NOT trash. We actually put the trash outside the door for housekeeping but housekeeping went inside anyway and threw out the box anyway WITH items inside. We had to open a case but it's been 3 days and still no word. We had to call customer service for an update and the woman said go online....offering little assistance. I'm not sure I'd ever return to a Hyatt after this experience.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of setting up teepee tents for a little girls party in a suite here and the staff here were very nice and accommodating. From the moment I arrived, valet unloaded my car and parked it on the street while I setup in the room for the birthday girl. Please tip the bellman and valet staff accordingly they deserve it. Also you can't just take the carts yourselves, the hotel is huge. Great views of the superdome and smoothie king arena now my little girl wants to have her birthday night here! I guess LOL!

Yelp
Definitely a beautiful newer property, away from the French Quarter, but not too far. I bundled my flight on Expedia with my pricey Hyatt stay, and I could have sworn it came with breakfast, but alas, hot breakfast would've been an additional $25/day, and I wasn't traveling for bidness, so that's crazy. Service when called upon was impeccable, at the front desk, the Bell station is top notch, service at the sports restaurant, too was great, but the expensive Pulled Pork sandwich was overcooked and almost inedible! Immediately I had to text the help line because the shower gel pump was busted by the person before me. Can Housekeeping just do the sign on the door or card on the bed thing to change linen, instead of having to text for linen service? Text responses to request linen service were very cheery, tho'. I've had electronic elevators like this before at the Sheraton NOLA, and they always seem to run slower than a normal system. Line out the door and the weekday Starbucks manager is not pitching in, and refused to tap drip coffees or help move the bar drink line. Worst, ever. Big ups for a beautiful pool area, nice art around the conference areas, again the nicest service which couldn't save my stay from being three stars.

Yelp
A nice stay. This hotel is enormous and has a great feel. The room was nice and clean and the hotel felt fancy but we stayed four nights and housekeeping didn't clean so the room got quite dirty. The pool was only open on weekends which was very disappointing as we didn't get to enjoy the pool area. Fitness area was nice. Starbucks was closed. Stay could have been a better but not bad at all.

Yelp
This hotel is downtown near the Superdome and within walking distance of the French Quarter. Check in was relatively easy and the front desk staffer was friendly and helpful. The elevators can be confusing since you must travel to the 3rd floor to access the room floor elevators. It's also a touch screen system that allows you to select your floor and then tells you which elevator will travel there. There are plenty of eateries and the conference area is spacious and clean. The rooms are quiet and very clean for an older hotel. Overall this is a nice place to stay when in the downtown portion of New Orleans.

Yelp
Couldn't have been a better experience. The customer service was beyond top notch. Every staff member I encountered asked if I was enjoying my stay and were truly interested in knowing. The room I stayed in was beautiful and had a nice view of the Superdome and beyond. It was clean, truly clean. Had no issues with the bathroom and the location was excellent. There's a streetcar stop right in front and another one a block away that will take you to the Quarter. Will definitely be back!!!!

Yelp
The Hyatt on the outside and conference areas are very nice but rooms are not worth the price. Came here for a conference so had to stay there and it was very expensive for the meh room I had. There was a moldy smell and the room was just average.
