Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta Just Unveiled a $20 Million Renovation

"Located on Las Estacas Beach in Puerto Vallarta, this family-friendly all-inclusive resort just completed a $20 million renovation that refreshed the North Tower’s 244 rooms and added new amenities across the property. Guest rooms now feature custom woodwork, upgraded ocean-view balconies with sliding glass doors, new air-conditioning units, smart TVs and Nespresso machines; the property totals 335 rooms across 18 categories, from standard doubles to a 1,500-square-foot presidential penthouse, with adults-only rooms that offer swim-up pool access. Dining is a major draw, with 12 (soon to be 13) restaurants including traditional Mexican at Casa Grande, Vietnamese- and Thai-inspired dishes at Pureza, oceanside Latin-American grilled seafood at Blaze, and a new teppanyaki-style Asian fusion spot, Tamari, while an oceanfront Italian venue, Melanzanne, is scheduled to open later this year. Families will appreciate a reimagined jungle-themed kids’ club for ages 4–12, and adults can retreat to an adults-only pool; other notable upgrades include a refreshed lobby, a pickleball court and a new oceanfront terrace. Nightly rates start at about $345." - Mae Hamilton Mae Hamilton Mae Hamilton is a digital editor covering hotels and lifestyle news at Travel + Leisure. Hyatt Offers Free COVID Testing at Mexico, Caribbean Hotels - AFAR

"Through May 31, 2021 this resort is offering complimentary on-site COVID-19 testing (PCR or rapid antigen) for up to two registered guests per room to help travelers meet the U.S. CDC's pretravel testing requirement of a negative test within 72 hours. Complimentary tests require a minimum length of stay that varies by property and additional on-property tests can be purchased. If a guest tests positive and must delay travel, participating properties will allow extended stays of up to 14 additional nights, but the up-to-50% off travel-delay room-rate discount does not apply to Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva properties; food and beverage discounts of up to 30% (excluding alcohol) may still be available. Complimentary testing is only available to guests traveling to the United States, and the company says it plans to expand testing availability across the Americas and globally." - Michelle Baran

Just spent 6 days at Hyatt Ziva PVR and what an amazing week we had, so many positives, not one negative and we will definitely be coming back soon. |Service and food alone with the views being a bonus.||Want to start off with the highlight of the trip, especially for our son was the service and phenomenal hospitality of the entire staff on the resort. |Specifically Isrrael - server of the activities pool where we spent most of our time. Isrrael went above and beyond every day and was full of positivity and extremely friendly. Our son and Isrrael became best friends and certainly made his week. |Thank you Isrrael ||Transportation Arrival|- We booked transportation through the hotel. Was extremely easy and was as expected.|- Arrival at the hotel you are greeted by friendly host, cold towel and popsicle. ||Room|- We booked Club King Tub which was wonderful including the pullout sofa for our 12 year old. |- Stocked bar, comfortable bed, zero complaints about the basics in the room|- Amazing view of the ocean|- Nice bar in the lobby with some top shelf booze and snack bar||Food|- Every meal was phenomenal, and the best part is we didn't need to book ahead. Just show up and enjoy|- We treated ourselves a few times to the lobster + shrimp add ons which were well worth it.|- Blaze was probably our favorite, mostly cause of the view location. |- Pizza bar for lunch was a great bonus during the day||Beach|- Wonderful, amazing, sandy, not one rock.|- Spent lots of time enjoying the warm waters and seeing the odd fish||Resort|- Clean, java shop and sports lounge excellent|- Vendors on the beach are there however not aggressive or a bother. ||Cant wait to head back|Thank you Hyatt Ziva|And THANK YOU Isrrael! ||Take care

Whatever you do stay away from this resort. They sell it as a five star resort, but it is more like a 2 to 3 star resort at best. The food is absolutely horrendous, the drinks are just as bad. If you don’t drink alcohol, the soda is absolutely flat as well. The best thing at this resort was the 10 inch pizza from the Italian restaurant for lunch. You’ll get a better experience staying at home than traveling to this resort. They also don’t even have a fitted sheet on the mattress. It’s just a regular bedsheet that doesn’t even cover the whole bed. Don’t even get me started on the amount of frustration I have with the Playa club manager

We stayed at this resort the first week of September, 2024 and 2025. Wonderful staff, great food . However, our beds were pretty bad both times we stayed here. The mattresses were damaged . We are both smaller people, so we would basically roll off the bed. And ended up with sore backs. For this reason we will not be going back. It’s listed as a 5 star.. however, the beds tell a different story story… other than that. Service and food were great!

We stayed 4 nights and had an amazing time. Never stayed at a resort like this before but the bar is now set very high. Rooms are very clean, doesn't feel crowded (this is the off season, late August), very good hospitality. Excellent pools (with an adults only section). Nice swim up bar and a beautiful beach. This beach is basically private because it's tucked away in a cove that cannot be walked to. Other resort beaches are technically public anyone can walk to. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. They truly did try to fulfill every request. The bartenders are quick and attentive with drinks. Bring your own tumbler cup and they'll fill it with whatever drink you want! Originally we expected the food to be mid level but it was quite good! The buffet is what you'd expect, but each restaurant has been excellent! Other folks we met here who regularly travel to resorts said the food is better than most "all inclusive" resorts. We are personally a little picky on food service and we had no complaints. In our opinion (folks that don't usually travel to resorts) we'd stay here again. It has been relaxing.

I am currently staying at this resort, and while the staff has been very friendly and the property is beautiful, our stay has unfortunately been impacted by several avoidable issues with our room. On our very first night, the shower drain was plugged. When I took a shower, the water pooled above my ankles before we realized it was due to a plug that had never been opened by staff prior to our arrival. The next day, we discovered there was no iron or ironing board in the room. My wife had to call and wait for one to be brought up, which caused us to be late for our dinner reservation and, unfortunately, we lost our seats with the party we were supposed to join. Finally, when I went to rinse off my feet from the beach using the second shower head in our room, it did not work and still does not work. I made the front desk aware of these issues and explained how, in the aggregate, they’ve negatively affected our stay. However, all I received was a polite apology with no effort to accommodate us further or address the inconvenience caused. For a five-star, all-inclusive resort, I expected better attention to detail and a more proactive solution when multiple problems arise during such a short stay. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously, as we chose this resort based on its reputation, and we would like to see the level of service match the high standard the property promotes.

-loved the location and excellent service. - the food is good overall, the drinks are ok. - I have to say I was lucky we went off season so it was very quiet for us, not too much wait or lines to eat. Finally Maria at the spa is an exceptional massage therapist, if you can splurge, the spa is definitely worth visiting. We would love to come back!

We had an incredible 4-night stay at the Ziva Puerto Vallarta. The staff was great, the food was good (some was a little hit and miss, but overall good), the beach and ocean were fantastic. We loved our stay and will hopefully be back soon. We've now stayed at 4 Zivas and this was our second favorite, second only to the Ziva Cancun, which is twice the price.

Stayed 5 days in September of 2025. Swim up Suite. Great all-inclusive. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Food is awesome. Space is clean. Staff is really great. The entertainment staff is even better. We arrived after the first leg of our Honeymoon so this was part 2 of our trip. We loved to see happy families enjoying the property while also seeing couples enjoy as well. The family side is far from the adult side but lots of mingling in the middle of the property. Everyone is respectful and its just a really great place to vacation. Food is great to our surprise the buffet was the best spot. We loved the restaurants but during our stay only 3 were open. No problem for us though. Room service is fast. The longest we waited was 25 min. At other resorts we have been to room service took 45 min to an hour. We were very impressed by this. Drinks are great as well. Really awesome experience we will be returning. I don't think I would do a swim up again, the sun doesn't come over the hill until about 2/3pm. So most of our sun time was out at the beach or a shared pool. But this was still very fun. The room was still a nice addition to our Honeymoon. I think our next trip I will save a few bucks and get a regular room.

Yelp
My spouse and I had such a blast at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta! Given it was my first time staying at an All-Inclusive, I had no idea what to expect. Luckily for me, my expectations were blown out of the water by this hotel's amazing amenities, stunning location, and good food! Food & Drinks: - The variety that they have here was super impressive, and we hardly had to wait for any of the various restaurants. - Blaze was our standout favorite restaurant by far with great steak, fresh bread, and stunning sunset views! Don't forget to book this for dinner! -MelanZane Italian and Vivaz Buffet were also really great with lots of variety. - Pureza the Asian place was just okay, but thankfully we just ordered small bites as a snack here. - Room service food was also pretty good! We got breakfast items and 1 lunch, which was all tasty - especially while enjoyed on the balcony! Pools & Beach: - The infinity pool and swim up bar were both perfect for lounging, drinking way too many piña coladas, and soaking up the beautiful views of blue sky and sea! - If safety has been / is a concern of yours, put it to rest! Because the beach is private, only hotel guests can access the resort. This was nice as we napped leisurely on the lounge chairs with total peace of mind. It was also really cool walking the warm water of the shoreline early in the AM without anyone there! Service: - Service was amazing throughout our stay. We were greeted with warm towels and popsicles the second we arrived, and all dining staff were very warm and efficient. We never once felt pressured to tip as gratuities are included and servers were very gentle. (We tipped anyway considering how great their service was throughout, but know that they won't force you.) Wedding Planning: - We considered having our wedding here so opted to stay 2 nights for the "Big Day Preview" which allows couples to get a big discount, so long as they go through a number of wedding-based tastings and presentations. This was so worth it, even though we didn't get married here. - Valentina was our planner and she was phenomenal. She guided us all through the venue, arranged tastings, and stayed in touch the whole time. The wedding food and drinks we tried were all high quality, and this resort would be a great place to celebrate. Advice & Misc: -Opt to get a room with a balcony! If you're debating about getting this, just do it! We enjoyed room service out there a couple times and also were awe-struck as we toasted champagne with the backdrop of the beautiful sunset in full view. - Make reservations at Blaze for dinner around sunset! Great views. - Go check out the Turtle Sanctuary on the beach. If it's the right time of the year, you can see the Turtle Keeper and he'll tell you all about the turtles being protected right on the resort. (You'll see a bunch of eggs and maybe even some hatched ones crawling around in their pen!) - Bring USD or Pesos if you'd like to tip TL;DR - We had an amazing time thanks to the great balcony views, awesome pools, private beach, great service, and good food! Check out the 50+ photos I uploaded if you want to take a look at all of the above!

Yelp
This place is a shame for Hyatt groups. The actual problem is even more frustrating but their staff is very rude. I called to see if they can help with a reservation I had to cancel and if there was another way to make use of that money. The lady first said she couldn't find my reservation and then she did, then she said this is through Expedia, no I can't do anything talk to Expedia and she HUNG UP the phone on me. That is the weirdest thing I have experienced in the hospitality industry, especially from Hyatt. I should just give up on the World of Hyatt loyalty and pick another customer friendly brand.

Yelp
My first time at the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta was mostly pretty good! Pros: *The service was nearly all-around super kind the moment you get in. Staff are pretty easy to chat with and be able to help out. *From the restaurants I got to try on site, I would rank it as Blaze // Pureza // Vivaz Buffet // MelanZane. Blaze was a pretty strong contender for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast in itself was oddly super solid with a great waiter, Humberto, and a machala dish that was not only tasty but had a legitimate spicy salsa. *The standard room, personally, wasn't too bad. I thought it had all the amenities I needed and room service was also usually less than half an hour if not faster. The only oddity about the room is something I'll list in the con below. *The views are spectacular and so close to the waterfront/beach. It was super easy to get to and loved hearing the waves as I was sleeping. Loved also how many pools there were in general and easy to get drinks from numerous bars and food as well. There were also a pretty steady stream of activities throughout the day that were listed out from performances to activities for adults and kids. I wanted to also kayak which was available for free but unfortunately the water was too rough for the days I was there. I did appreciate Kevin who was the designated water activities guy and how chill he was. *The sports bar is actually super solid. Lots of TV screens and games around with from pool/foosball. Super cool and one of the most refined areas. The DJ is a wee bit too loud but that happens after 10:30PM. Cons: *The service at some of the restaurants were a bit hit or miss with sometimes long waits for food. *The reservation system is a bit strange. At least as of Dec. 2024, there is a RSVP desk open in the lobby from around 9AM - 4PMish where you can make a reservation the day or in the future. Reservations were really tough to get for dinner depending on your party size. However, we did find walking up to a restaurant wasn't that hard, at least with Pureza. And walking up much later usually will get you a better chance with a restaurant. Wish this was clearer from the outset as this isn't clearly outlined on the site or even when calling with a lot of confusing contradictions. *I think MelanZane in particular needs more work done in it to help update aging tables to furniture. My table had a crack in it and splinters on the side that I had to avoid. *Although my standard room was pretty good, I had two issues with the rooms. First, I think the soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles (which are locked in the shower) are a bit janky. It required me some time in fiddling around with the handles to get them to work. I also think their placement makes it really hard for this to work without the staff coming in to unlock them. *The second overall issue with the standard room hotel side are the elevators. The elevators were super slow and there were only two. I ended up opting for the stairs usually. *The gym I mostly liked in that it had all the basic equipment. I do think it's a bit small though, especially with classes happening at the same time. Just be aware on the activity sheet if there is a class happening in the gym, you may want to come earlier or later. A few small things I would suggest to change but mostly enjoyed my experience here.

Yelp
Never done the all-inclusive resort experience before, but took the dive for some dear friends' daughter's wedding. So glad we went for it. This. Place. Is. Amazing. Beautiful property with private beach just for the resort (aka no through traffic). So many pools I didn't even swim in all of them during our 4-day stay! And multiple hot tubs, too. Diverse and delicious food options from four specialty restaurants plus an incredible buffet, cafe and room service. Must have room service for breakfast! Fun and festive entertainment throughout our stay, including their Christmas tree lighting ceremony with special drinks and light bites. They are sea turtle conservation partners and they did multiple sea turtle releases at sunset while we were there. So adorable! Great, friendly service from (almost) all staff. Clean accommodations. Word to the wise: several of the wedding party paid extra for the rooms with their own private hot tub. They're essentially outdoor jetted bathtubs that guests fill themselves and there is no mechanism to keep the water hot so the tub must be filled/drained for each use. None of them (include the bride and groom) thought they were worth it and were bummed to pay the extra price for rooms with a tub they ended up not using. Overall, a great first all-inclusive resort experience. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Went here for my honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The grounds are so beautifully designed. All the restaurants food was so good, I was pleasantly surprised considering it's all inclusive. There are multiple pools to swim and lounge. Even a swim up bar pool. My favorite thing about this place is the private beach. Don't forget the check out the turtle eggs area, you might get lucky and see some turtles! Would go back there again and we are now loyal Hyatt customers.

Yelp
We came here for a day pass because we were on a Carnival Cruise that stopped in Puerto Vallarta. The day pass included, unlimited drinks and food. The views were beautiful and loved to swim up bar. Had a great time.

Yelp
We lost all of our dang minds when we checked in at the Club tower and discovered that we were upgraded to the Penthouse Presidential Suite: a 2 story corner suite on the top floor that has a living area, dining table for 8, a huge master's bedroom on the 2nd floor with whirlpool tub, a separate sitting area with a pull-out couch and, drum roll..... its own private pool!! Hyatt Ziva PV showed our whole family a really fantastic time. We rented beach cabanas ($99/day), enjoyed the adult-only pool, loved the privacy of the beach, danced at the bar, watched the gorgeous sunset from our room pool, indulged in spa services, chugged-a-lug top shelf alcohol, enjoyed our well-stocked room filled with snacks and drinks, basked in the 5 star service of the bartenders, club lounge servers and buffet staff. We were fine staying in the hotel vs going to Malecón day or night. Beatriz Ulloa was an angel prior to my arrival (she patiently answered my emails) and she, together with Jorge Chavez, checked in with us daily to make sure we are well taken care of. We made our restaurant reservations as soon as we checked in and we never had any problems finding a table good for 8 people. There were restaurants that noticeably had a shortage of servers, especially in the Mexican restaurant, but Martin impressively served with a smile all throughout. We appreciated the surprise champagne bottles and mini bday cakes as well as efficient room service! I treated myself to the spa's massage and body scrub. The hydrotherapy 'ceremony' before the actual service was already fantastic and Miguel's relaxing massage was top notch. The facilities are very clean and the views are just 100% gorgeous! The only wrinkle on this trip was Azael at the coffee shop who showed customer service isn't his greatest strength as we ordered pastries and coffee. Was he already having a bad day before we walked in? Did he find it necessary to be rude to us because he had to make 4 affogatos and 4 lattes? He made the situation from bad to worse when he lied about his name (he said his name is Aster and that he doesn't understand English) AND removed his nametag - behind the muffin display case - right before our very eyes!! **We had a conversation with GM Jorge Luis Ayala who apologized and assured us that he will look into the video** Muchas gracias to Hyatt Ziva PV for a great birthday week! We highly recommend this resort and look forward to returning.

Yelp
Well everything in a nutshell was excellent. The manager at the Italian restaurant @indra was so kind and made sure over and that we were happy. Every expectation was surpassed with excellence in service. The whole resort staff wants to be there. I do feel I had better than other service everywhere from the coffee shop "Deli" and the Japanese restaurant Tamari and the restaurant Blaze and Melanzane the Italian restaurant (it means eggplant in Italian). It's 100/10 and every "need" I could have needed was met. I will come back and highly recommend this as a 5* travel destination. ¡Soy la gringa que ha la Español!

Yelp
Nowhere close to Hyatt Standards. Very limited options for all-inclusive. This place seems to have survived on wedding events and groups. One side of Pool and jacuzzi are closed off 4 of the 5 days. The other was under maintenance. Don't even think of this place.

Yelp
First the pros: this place has a nice private beach. This alone gives the place a couple of stars. The beach has some vendors that provide jet skiing, parasail, banana boat, fishing and some souvenirs. Kayak and paddle boards are on the beach for guests to use for free. So you never have to leave to find a beach activity. The scenery is beautiful. Water is great. Never fighting for a chair or space which is truly rare on vacation. Food wasn't the best I've ever had at an all inclusive but decent. Vegetarians, pescatarians and meat lovers will all find things to eat here. I stayed at the club tower. Not sure if it's worth the extra but the rooms were certainly nice. Service great and friendly. Cons: they don't accept USD so you have to pay for things in pesos if you're not using a credit card at the hotel. Vendors on the beach will accept usd its just the hotel itself. Really a pain to try and go change to pesos somewhere bc they will rip you off if you change at the resort. There is only one vendor for each activity which I guess makes sense since it's not the biggest beach but this makes for a monopoly on the activity which drives prices really high. $120 for 30 min of jet skiing is highway robbery. You can negotiate it down to $100 which is still highway robbery. As is $150 for a family of 5 to go banana boat riding for 10 minutes or less. You can negotiate it to maybe $125 but still ridiculous pricing. This is Mexico, not Malibu beach, CA. You go to any other beach where there are multiple vendors in puerto Vallarta and they actually have to compete with other vendors- you wouldn't be paying these prices. Really sucks these vendors take advantage of that. Puts a damper on things. There is definitely room for improvement in food. Especially the steak at the steakhouse - awful steak. And the Asian food- does not taste like an Asian person made it. They need someone to come and revamp the Asian menu. I'm sure every Asian person who dined there was disappointed including myself. The Italian food was a big let down as well. Buffet, Mexican, and steakhouse was good (minus the steak). We also enjoyed the food from the little hut next to the pool. All in all I would recommend the resort for those wanting to stay in puerto Vallarta. We had a good time here and enjoyed the views.

Yelp
This was my second time staying at this resort and it was definitely not as good as the first time. To start with the check-in process, we had to wait for an hour and a half for our room to be ready in the hotel lobby. Check-in time was supposed to be at 3pm and we were not provided any details aside from the room was not ready. Around 3:30pm we had to ask the front desk attendant for an update as they had a shift change. They did not know and had to check. The manager came over to tell us it would be another half hour wait for the room and they would do something for the inconvenience. They never ended up doing anything at all. Nor do they offer the welcome check-in drink like they used to. Additionally, right after checking in they now have these employees of the Hyatt parent company Playa in blue shirts who try to sell you on a membership package. They start off by saying they will be offering you a complimentary spa credit or romantic dinner, but then it turns into them asking you to attend a 90-minute presentation and they want you to pay $50 for that to ensure you show up. It is worse than getting a timeshare sales pitch at check-in! They no longer offer as large of a beer and liquor selection either. For the 5 restaurants they now recommend reservations to be able to get in and all 5 are never open on the same day. All of the cabanas surrounding the swimming pools cost a daily fee and the hotel was under construction during the day. On the plus side the one good thing is still the private beach area for the hotel. I do not know if they have changed ownership, but the Hyatt all-inclusive resort experience is not what it used to be.

Yelp
Overall, our 4-night stay was excellent. My family and I stayed in March 2024 before Spring Break so the resort didn't feel as packed and it wasn't difficult to find beach/pool chairs. The beach is steps away from the hotel and it's a private beach where no other resorts can access. The beach was actually swimmable compared to Cabo where the beach was dangerous to swim in. Hotel: We stayed the first night in an ocean view room and decided to upgrade to a junior suite room in the club lounge tower. The club tower offered premium drinks not offered elsewhere throughout the resort, had a snack bar that was open from 7am-11pm. Shout out to Ivan for being our bartender a few times! The room included a mini bar that was stocked with a few beers, sodas, and waters. They restock it everyday and you can request to get it restocked any time. It was a few steps away from the beach and was next to the adult pool. The rooms were large and included 2 full beds plus 1 pull out couch. The balcony had a day bed and 2 chairs and a table. I absolutely loved the sounds of waves crashing as we fall asleep since we were next to the beach. If you're not a fan of this, I'd keep this in mind. My aunt got upgraded to the Presidential Suite and it was a fantastic room with 2 floors. They had a corner room with a pretty good sized private pool. We spent a lot of time here too. Food: I'd rate the food overall 3.5/5. There were many choices but none really that stood out, though I know not to ask for much in all inclusive resorts. Dinner choices were Pureza (Asian), Melanzane (Italian), Casa Grande (Mexican). The service for these restaurants were a little bit slower, it seemed as if they were understaffed. Our last night we went to Casa Grande, the wait was long but our server Martin took care of us with a smile on his face even though it seemed as if he was the only server there. These 3 require reservations as they get booked fast. There's a seafood restaurant called Blaze that's available for dinner and for lunch and it has a wonderful view. Most restaurants actually had a wonderful view. The Vivaz buffet was great for breakfast. The coffee shop by the lobby was very convenient especially if you have an early morning excursion. I would say our favorite place to eat actually ended up being the Hyghlights sports bar which served bar food -- it was excellent for post drinking food. Room service was open 24/7 and delivery was pretty quick I would say. Spa/gym: I booked an 80 minute deep tissue massage which included a 1 hour pass prior to your appointment. Maria was my therapist and she was great. A guide takes you through the steps of sauna, rock walk, jacuzzi (with cucumbers for your eyes and a head massage from the guide), and finally, the spa pool. I've stayed in Ziva Los Cabos where they offered a full day pass and in/out privileges, but this spa only allowed for 1 hour. The service was overall wonderful. The gym was on the same floor and had nice view of the ocean. Pools/beach: there were 4 pools available. One adult pool, 1 adults only swim up bar, 1 activities pool (for volleyball, Zumba, group water exercises). We stayed mostly in the adults only pool since it was closest to us. On our second day we rented a cabana by the beach which was next to a bar and the adults pool. Service was excellent. Shout out to Carlos for being our server that day! The cabana was ours from 9am to 6pm. It included 2 coconut drinks + they also served a tres leches birthday cake for my aunt's birthday. Service: All of our interactions with employees were excellent. They were all accommodating from the front desk to the restaurants to the lobby and to the pools. Shout out to Veronica for helping us out from the get go with booking our spa services and helping us with our room upgrade. Activities: there were activities offered throughout the day and night ranging from group exercise, cornhole/volleyball games, and night time activities and shows in the main outisde area. Overall, if I were to go back to Puerto Vallarta, I would stay here again.

Yelp
The Hyatt Ziva is an excellent resort. We just spent a wonderful Thanksgiving week in PV. The pros: clean rooms, kind staff and good food. The cons: they are doing construction on multiple areas of the hotel which lasted one night until 7 pm. For the price, it would've been nice if they would've given pool drink service to everybody and not just those who spent the extra money on reserving a cabana. The other thing I found ridiculous was that they were selling SPF for $45 in the gift shop. The beach and the pool were beautiful and made for a nice vacation. The food was decent and we enjoyed the Italian restaurant the most. I would not however, recommend the $75 lobster as it was overcooked. I might return to this hotel again if the price were right and there was no construction.

Yelp
We have the private pool suite. It is amazing. The staff has been amazing, well worth it to stay in the adult tower. Daily activities, many restaurant options, everyone is above and beyond helpful. Couldn't be happier right now.

Yelp
Sadly, this Hyatt disappointed on every level where they usually excel. They are very eco-friendly, so there are no paper maps or booklets telling you about the property, where various things are such as the adults only pool, restaurants (and their hours), or the gym. They give you a QR code to scan to find the information online, which is convenient if you are a millennial or younger, but even then, the information listed was often incorrect there. Also, the wifi was out for almost 2 days, so if you don't have a phone with an international data plan, don't plan to have access wifi guaranteed. One would think the buffet dining option would be open for every meal or in between mealtimes, but that is definitely not the case here. They were only open for breakfasts, some lunches, and some dinners. Every restaurant needs to post their hours outside their doors so patrons know where they can have a meal and not have to scramble at noon with nothing to eat on some days. One day, we were told the sports bar was open for drinks, but food wouldn't be served until 1230pm. We sat there for over half an hour, and the server didn't so much as look at us until 1245pm. There was heavy construction happening 24 hours a day at this location. You'd think there would be quiet hours from maybe 10pm-8am but you'd be wrong! They were happily drilling away after midnight every evening. They had a pulley system to bring glass window panels to the upper levels that had us worried while walking below them. They didn't have good safety measures in place at all. On several occasions, their tractor used for moving dirt almost hit families coming out from the elevator area. There was a major pipe that burst, and the elevators in our tower were completely out for a day, but there wasn't so much as a sign put out anywhere to let anyone know as much. We, along with several other groups of people waited for long periods of time one morning before seeing and hearing people in the stairwells who passed on the message that the elevators were broken. Even after maintenance worked on the elevators all day, only one of the two was actually functional after they were "fixed." The stairwells were narrow and we had to contend with workers and other guests going in every which direction all day. The only reason this is a 2-star review instead of a 1-star review is because of some standout employees (Samantha at Tequilas, Ivan at the pool, and Jon at the pool cantina). That, and Miguel with the baby sea turtles and their daily releases out to the sea. Lastly, nowhere on the property was there information about how or where to get kayaks, paddleboards, or boogie boards, even though their photos show this as a major activity here. When we asked at the front desk, they said "yes, it is available - just ask the activities team downstairs." When we asked several people in the activity shirts, they made excuses for why kayaking was "not possible in this moment." After talking to several employees they finally told us we could go only at 4pm for a maximum of 1 hour, which was during high tide, and the hottest part of the day. It almost seemed like they thought this was a way to deter us. Had we been able to go when we asked, it would have been lovely with an almost flat surface and little waves. I have stayed at the Dreams Vallarta Bay and that was 100% better than this Hyatt, with the exception of their beach (which was rocky, a steep entry, and not as good as the long sandy beach with gentle entry at Ziva).

Yelp
The Hyatt ziva Is a fantastic place to go if you want to get everyone you love together only to have them kick everyone out that paid $150 for the day pass once the events start going. They have no reasoning behind it other than you are not actually staying at the hotel but they will gladly take your $150 which sounds like a great deal to people visiting but ends up biting them in the ass. Marriott will always be superior to Hyatt in this way because they are for the guest where Hyatt is only in it for the money. Good n you Marriott. Keep being for the people.

Yelp
For Memorial Day, this resort was surprisingly not crowded at all. Plenty of activities to do, and there is a kids club that schedules activities for the 12 and under crowd.

Yelp
Came here for a wedding, and although this place has a lot going for it, there are some caveats that most travelers should be aware of. The location is not the easiest to get to from the airport, and there's a lot of bumpy road driving (to be somewhat expected?) and takes about 30 minutes from the airport. Upon arrival, the lobby is beautiful but the service was odd. The bellhop kept telling us to wait with our luggage and that he would help us to our rooms, even though we were checked in and ready to go up without waiting. We ended up just grabbing our luggage ourselves and finding the room on our own. Other odd service things included attempting to book restaurant reservations and then asking the concierge where we may find the restaurant but even they could not provide directions, random upsells on unnecessary services, aggressive waiters, and inconsistent item availability at the buffet. The food was decent but a bit tiring after 4 days, as most items were subpar and the restaurants at the resort all used the same ingredients as the buffet so you definitely felt as if you're just getting variations of the same food. The pool was beautiful and well maintained, the beach was gorgeous and definitely had a private feel and had little to no solicitors. I read online about the difference between the club tower and original tower, and I have to say that after visiting both sides, I did not see that drastic of a difference. The original tower was plenty spacious for my immediate family (wife and kid) but certainly after 3 people, the club tower may be more appealing as it does feel more modern and has larger rooms. The pricing difference is about $100-$150 extra per night for the club standard room, so it definitely depends on your budget. The restaurants are relatively spread out, so you will be doing a good amount of walking around the resort. Overall, it's a lovely resort, but I think the staff and level of service just doesn't feel appropriate for a 4-star hotel. The uneasy feeling of being randomly pressured for tips or to purchase additional services while already spending a pretty penny to even be at the resort certainly muddled the experience.

Yelp
This was my 12th visit to Hyatt Ziva. My husband and I have made this our home away from home for quick summer get-aways from CA. I have also visited solo. Our former reviews have ALWAYS been 5 star, however, I will say that there were subtle changes this time around that negatively impacted my experience with the resort: CONS: 1) The Spa: Previously, if you booked a massage or service, you had access to the pool/hot tub, etc. for the full day. This was a perk of utilizing the Spa, and allowed you a bit of privacy away from the more crowded pools. CHANGE: You are now only allowed to spend one hour before OR one hour after your service at the facility. As a result, we would not pay for a service due to this change. There were other guest at the adult pool who were also dissatisfied with this change. I recommend switching to back, as the industry standard that we've seen at most hotel spas is usage of the facility for the full day. Hyatt would actually lose money if guests refuse to book a service. 2) Restaurants: The hotel "highly recommends" making reservations for dinner. Although it minimizes the wait time, the guest are required to go to the front desk to make reservations, then get "tickets" to give to the restaurants. This process could be streamlined so that it is easier for the guest to book reservations. When on vacation, we want to just "relax", and not be forced to go back and forth to the front desk. 3) The Club Tower: Every stay that we've booked have been on the Club Tower side. These rooms are pricier than the other side of the resort, yet, this time, I noticed that the Club bar/food was open to anyone, and the drinks were watered down. There was an "up-charge" for top-shelf alcohol, whereas in the past, you received extra perks for paying more for the Club rooms. 4) The Italian restaurant was never open for lunch during my stay from 9/3 - 9/8/2023. Previously, we would enjoy lunch there, then dinner at Blaze. The food choices were extremely limited this time around. 5) The room service menu was sadly scaled down to a handful of menu items. This was a let down from what they offered previously. PROS: 1) Blaze did NOT disappoint. The service was great, and the food was delicious for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The wait staff went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met. I tip generously, and they were always very humble and appreciative when receiving tips. 2) Marychuie at the spa was EXCELLENT and has been at the spa for a very long time. She is an asset to the spa and to the resort. 3) The cleanliness of the resort was top tier. The pools and the rooms were extremely clean; the staff paid close attention to every detail. Overall, I would likely give this place one more try, but, after this visit, I will be researching other resorts in the area for future visits to MX.

Yelp
So disappointed with this resort so far . Booked and confirmed a high level room by the adult pool area. Just got checked in to a second floor overlooking the kids pool. Called three times in the last two weeks to check on dining for New Year's Eve. We were told that they weren't sure if they were doing anything and the restaurants on site were all first come first served. At check in we were informed the special beach event is booked and all the restaurants have reservations but we can eat dinner at 9:45. I guess being a World of Hyatt member means absolutely nothing. Should have stayed at Secrets.

Yelp
No soap in shower dispensers. Sand all over my room floor upon check in. Air condition barely works in the rooms and general areas. Gym was good but no air condition there either. Poorly managed hotel for what I'm used to by staying at a Hyatt property. Food is decent. Pools are nice however it did not have an attendant at the swim up bar. Definitely needs to be remodeled. Actually, tear it down and rebuild something else.

Yelp
Yay for Hyatt Ziva's wedding team, especially for Valentina Valencia! We visited the Hyatt Ziva for the first time in February 2022, and during this trip we got engaged. Our first visit was pleasant, we stayed in the original/ older building, and our room was pleasant. All the rooms at the Hyatt Ziva have ocean view! We decided to return to the Hyatt Ziva to host our wedding in May 2023, and during the course of our engagement, we visited the Hyatt Ziva a total of four times. Our favorite stay was the swim out rooms in the club tower! Stay there for a more exclusive experience Food: 3.5 - we mostly ate breakfast/ lunch and visited the restaurants in Vallarta for a more authentic Vallarta experience. Activities: 4 Rooms/ stay: 4, stay in the club tower! Service: 4 Wedding planning: 5/5 thank you Valentina!!! I will say that when visiting Mexico, it would be nice to listen to Latin music. Even if it's just throughout certain hours or locations within the hotel. Unfortunately the hotel does cater to the American Culture with lots of English/ house music throughout the hotel at all times...

Yelp
We have been coming here for about 6 years. We have always loved the intimacy. Even in the past when it needed a face lift. But I have to give amazing props to the manager Daniel. He has turned the property into a well maintained lovely hotel. From the landscaping to the upgrades, it is a welcome change. It wouldn't be half as amazing if it wasn't for the staff. Jorge is always amazing. Beatriz, Daniel, along with Carlos and Efrain at the pool. Carlos in the Italian restaurant is a wonderful waiter. My only complaint is I drink too much and eat too much. Thank you for always making our trip wonderful.

It was cold both directions

Yelp
I'm rating this location poorly due to the high-pressure sales tactics used by the employees wearing the dark/navy blue shirts. Particularly one name ERASMO. They get chummy with you as soon as you arrive at the resort. They take advantage of you arriving to a new location with sensory overload, getting handed off to multiple people, and not knowing exactly what is happening. He offers to show you around so you "don't get lost" and will take you on a half-ass tour just pointing out where the restaurants are, where the gym is, etc. Things that anybody with more than 2 brain cells can figure out on their own, especially since this property is quite small. What they are really trying to do, is to isolate you and build rapport so they can make a SALE. They'll be the nicest person and put their arm around you, then the conversation will start to go towards attending their presentation over breakfast in order to get X, Y, Z free stuff, in our case a massage and some other crap. They make it sound so good "all you have to do is listen". I said I'll go back to the room to think about it, then come back. A thing that any reasonable person would want. Erasmo was didn't like this and pressed me as to why I was hesitating (if it's such a no-brainer and all it takes is listening to a presentation to get a free massage, why does he care if I want to think about it and come back?? First red flag...) Eventually I come back down and sign up for it. He immediately wants $50 that is supposedly 100% refundable. When I asked him what it's used for, he states something about making a reservation with the spa ladies. It made no sense. He also stated he prefers cash. Later i figured out this is just used as leverage against you. After doing my own research on the details on the presentation and after seeing firsthand during our breakfast, other couples being stuck with 1-2 salesmen at their table, they looked uncomfortable and was not able to enjoy their food. I didn't like this, so the night before the presentation, I called concierge and told them I'm cancelling it. Whomever answered the phone didn't seem to mind, and happily said they would cancel the appointment. The next day fiance and I are heading to the breakfast buffet and we see Erasmo anxiously looking and scanning in the direction which our room was. At this point it was past the presentation time. This kind of freaked us out and we retreated to the room and after a little bit of time we go back out to breakfast. This guy is still in the same spot waiting for us and as soon as we get close he goes "good morning! Are you ready?!" I had to break the news to him that I had cancelled it last night over the phone. He then asks how or who I cancelled it with and exasperatedly asks me WHY. I simply told him we didn't care for the free massage any longer and we didn't want to attend any presentations. He tries to guilt me by saying "We've been waiting for you all morning!" Well sir, I do not care. I cancelled it anyways, so I don't see why they'd be waiting around for me, unless the message wasn't passed along? But likely, he is lying and they did get the message, he was just trying to pressure us. When I told him "sorry, man" he seemed visibly irritated and just threw up his hands. What happened to good old friendly Erasmo??? He's now mad that we didn't want a free massage? Kind of a strange thing to be upset about and way to make it awkward. This kind of riled me up and I didn't enjoy breakfast after that encounter. Later that same day, fiance and I are waiting for an Uber in the front lobby and over comes Erasmo again to make it more awkward than it already was. This time he only speaks to my fiance in Spanish and basically asks her why we cancelled the presentation. She explained to him that we did research and saw other couples stuck with salesmen during breakfast and said it looked uncomfortable and not enjoyable and it was as simple as that. This guy has the audacity to try to guilt trip us again and before he walks away he says that because we cancelled HIS PAYCHECK WOULD BE DEDUCTED. I don't believe this B.S. for a second. Also, that is definitely one way to make guests at an all-inclusive resort who paid hundreds of dollars a night, very uncomfortable...Instead of feeling relaxed and happy, as we should when on vacation at a beach resort, we found ourselves having to take roundabout paths and avoid employees wearing dark blue shirts, just to feel comfortable on the resort we paid so much money to (for the record, ALL OTHER staff were amazing and provided excellent and friendly service. I'm only referring to the Vacation Club staff). The entire experience caused by the high-pressure sales tactics and Erasmo's comments made our trip very uncomfortable and unpleasant. I know we certainly will never be staying with any Hyatt resort again because of this.

Yelp
Overall the resort was pretty nice. Good variety in food (Blaze is the best), the layout of the resort was not too big and not too small on a gorgeous secluded beach, and the rooms were spacious. I highly recommend to everyone.

Yelp
Let me just preface this by saying that heading into this stay I had a very negative view of all-inclusive resorts. My only previous experience was one in the Dominican Republic that was full of pushy vendors, terrible food and lackluster service. Arriving at the Hyatt Ziva it looked very nice. The staff were very friendly and that theme continued throughout the week we stayed there. The staff were 5-star quality outside a couple of waiters who were great service-wise but weren't very talkative. As long as the service is good I'm willing to call that a wash so no harm done. Our room was very nice and the housekeeping staff kept everything well stocked and tidy. As some others mentioned, there are little bugs here and there and that's to be expected when you're in a super-humid location. I'm not a big enough diva to throw fits over trivial stuff like that. It goes with the territory. The food was my biggest concern heading into this resort and I can honestly say Hyatt Ziva changed my view of all-inclusive resorts. The food at Blaze and Casa Grande were what I'd consider "good restaurant" quality back home. It's not the best thing I've ever had in my life but definitely nowhere near the worst. I'd be like going to a solid 4-star (Yelp) restaurant. We are not big drinkers, so I can't speak a whole lot to that aspect of the resorts. They had plenty of staff offering beverages and the ones we got were pretty tasty. My personal favorite was the Mango Tango. The beach is a private beach maybe spanning a half mile down the coast and the water is so warm you can walk right into the ocean. There are plenty of activities to do for both adults and kids so I give the Hyatt Ziva 5 stars on that front. Their entertainment crew work very hard to make sure people are having a good time and I respect that. They had several shows throughout the week which were actually quite entertaining! Staying there reminded me of being on a cruise ship but having the luxury to just walk onto the beach at any given moment. Plus, the food is way better and they serve booze too. Much better than any cruise I've ever taken. Overall, I'd give the Hyatt Ziva a solid 4.25 stars. I think the desserts are a bit weak and I think they should let people swim a little later than 9pm when it's ridiculously humid and hot 24/7 (maybe just implement an enforcement on noise levels around the pools). If I could add one suggestion for improvement I'd recommend putting in an ice cream/frozen yogurt area with toppings for guests to enjoy sweet treats and cool down in that sweltering heat. We found ourselves often seeking cooler things to drink/eat just because of the heat. Other than that, the people were great and the food was almost always very good other than a couple blips here and there. I'd definitely consider returning to this resort if given an opportunity.

Yelp
This is a 4 star resort. Overall ambience, proximity to beach, good food choices, good buffet esp breakfast. Steps to the beach!!!! There is beach service for drinks only but they don't come around a lot and they don't really want to come around much. This is by all means not a luxury vacation spot but def a kids / family beach get away

Yelp
***FYI - This review would probably be 3 stars if we had paid for our rooms instead of using points*** My husband and I LOVED Hyatt Ziva Cabo so we were excited to check out PV for our wedding anniversary - however, we didn't like it as much. Not sure if it's because we went to the Cabo location pre-Covid (2019) and PV in November 2021 but can only speak to what I know. Transportation: We used Uber for the first time in Mexico and although we needed to wait a little longer than if we had booked a shuttle, we saved A LOT of money so it was worth it. Food: The buffet was our favorite and I wish we had eaten there more. Italian for lunch was slow, dry & not good - we and the other patrons all went to the buffet after eating there. I definitely recommend the buffet for breakfast - fresh tortillas, birria and more .. SO GOOD. Also, don't miss out on the coconut ice cream from the buffet! Dinner at Casa Grande and Blaze were both good - not great - and also took a long time. Casa Grande had excellent salsa & Blaze had the best view for dinner. We "snacked" at the Asian place after dinner - the ribs were good but the pad thai was TERRIBLE. Think the buffet was closed for dinner one of the nights we were there so make sure to check/plan accordingly! Bars & pools: All the bartenders were quick and polite - we had no problems with any of our drinks. There were also about 5 pools so we were able to relax in an empty one while watching the "party" ones - aka the ones with a swim-up bar. Beach: Private beach and only hotel guests have access (it's physically blocked off by rocks on both sides). The water wasn't too cold and it was super fun to swim in! I will say that when we stayed at Hyatt Ziva Cabo, we weren't able to swim in the ocean so this was a plus. Check-in: Staff was friendly, check-in was quick. We used 20,000 points to be in the Main tower night 1 and 32,000 points to be in the Club tower night 2 because we wanted to splurge on a hot tub in the balcony. The Club lounge at Hyatt Ziva Cabo is MUCH more impressive than the one in PV. The PV one wasn't so much a lounge as it was a bar before you get onto the elevators to get to your room. It would've been nice if we somehow could have stayed in the same room for both nights but we get it, we didn't have enough points for the Club tower for the first night. Room in the Main tower: Great views, standard room. Fridge only had beer (which didn't matter to us but in case it does for you). Room in Club tower: VERY nice. The bathroom was large, there was a "living" room and of course, the balcony had amazing views with a hot tub! Fridge had beer and liquor. Looking back, I don't think it was worth the extra 12,000 points for the Club tower (because we were mostly at the beach/pools/restaurants) but no regrets! Activities: -Free kayak tour: Highly recommend! We had a friendly group of maybe 15 people which made for a good time. Also, the guide was very engaging & hard working. -Baby turtle release: HIGHLIGHT of our trip. We got to watch baby turtles get released into the ocean during the sunset! We all lined up and cheered as the little guys made it out to sea (or got taken by a wave). I'm sure this doesn't happen all year long so I was glad to experience it! Nighttime festivities: -The shows were great and pretty entertaining. We didn't sit for any of them but stopped to watch from upstairs when we were walking around after dinner. -HYGHLIGHTZ was a fun spot to play pool and watch games. Drink service was quick as well - think we liked this sports bar more than the one in Cabo. -There was live music at .. Tequila Bar? I don't remember the name of the spot (to the left of Melazane) but the band was loud and great. There's also a bar in there with plenty of seats and a pool table. Final note: Besides saying "Happy Anniversary" at check-in, there was no acknowledgement whatsoever during our trip. I didn't mind really but when were in Cabo a couple years ago, they dropped off a bottle of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries for our anniversary. I probably would've minded if we spent $400-500/night so just a heads up for anyone paying full price.

Yelp
Nice pools, good beach, so-so food... but... Mala! If I could write a separate Yelp review just for her, I would l, and I would give it a billion stars. She runs entertainment and is an absolute MACHINE. She really made the trip. Love her!!!

Yelp
We spent our honeymoon here and absolutely loved every minute of it. The rooms in the newer building are gorgeous, clean, enormous and all have a beautiful view. They are quiet and well equipped for a luxurious visit. The food is world class and consistently delicious at every restaurant -- plus, because it's unlimited, we had the opportunity to try a bunch of new and exciting dishes. We loved every bite. The drinks are also expertly made and they offer a wide variety of familiar and new brands of alcohol. There is truly something there for everybody. Plus, the staff is so friendly and accommodating, they make you feel right at home. We made fast friends with many people at the hotel, but keep an eye out for Efrain at the beach and pool bars -- he is an excellent addition to the hotel's experience. We also really enjoyed our service from Pedro at the front desk, Susanna and Hector at Blaze, Jesus at the beach / pool bar and the man who makes the omelettes at the buffet. Honestly, everybody we interacted with was outstanding. We also had a couples massage that was incredible. They offer a full experience before the massage including saunas, cold plunges, reflexology and pressure. The beach here is probably my favorite in the world. Not too crowded, very private, warm, clear and safe waters and plenty of activities for those who are interested. The pools were huge and welcoming, as well. Last, the trips to and from the airport were extremely easy and safe, the people were outstandingly friendly and our overall experience was excellent. They have truly thought through everything and the place is safe, well planned out and very welcoming. I can't wait to come back as soon as possible. 10/10

Yelp
All inclusive hotel. Had wedding here for family member. All the work was done by wedding planner Valentina she was amazing. Hotel service and food seem to have gone down since our visit last year. Grounds are kept up nice and you do not need to leave property to enjoy Mexico.

Yelp
Very, very impressed. Came here on vacation with a bunch of friends and the staff of the Hyatt exceeded my expectations every single day. Really the staff made this trip for me. They were "overly" everything. Overly friendly, overly accommodating, overly polite. It was in awe, seriously. Like I walked around with my mouth agape going "awwwwwwwwwwwwwww" and kind of like drooling but the staff even helped me with that, wiping my mouth and stuff. Ok ok that story is not true. But seriously. Most establishments in America can learn a thing or 8 about customer service from them. The room was very nice, the restaurants were very good, bars were a plenty. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
So prior to this visit, I was morally opposed to the idea of traveling to another country and spending my time in an all inclusive resort. But man has my mind changed after having such an amazing experience here. Having the all inclusive model makes a very streamlined experience, so you don't have to pull out cash or a card every time you grab a bite to eat or order a drink. The pools with views of the ocean are so relaxing. The beaches are amazing and you could seriously get away to comfortably sleep out on the sand than in your room. Lastly, my purpose for visiting Puerto Vallarta was to see two women I care about getting married. This venue made the most magical wedding I've ever attended. I've never cried at a wedding, I can no longer claim that. Seriously, if you can afford it, have your special day here, you wont regret it.

Yelp
Our stay at Hyatt Ziva was a wonderful bonding experience. The accommodations were enjoyable, the food was decent (Casa Grande was particularly outstanding!), and most of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, greeting and assisting every guest with sincerity. However, there were a few who seemed to intentionally overlook requests. It's possible they're not content with their roles and might consider a change. Despite this, we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Yelp
I love this resort! For the private beach and amazing views. I've visited twice within 5 months and have stayed in the swim up room and in a room with the hot tub on the balcony. I liked the view of the beach and ocean from the top floor where my room with the hot tub was in the club suite building ... but there were a lot of bugs outside that interrupted my hot tub relaxation. The tubs were also outdated but I did give it a shot my first night there for the experience. I'd book this room again for the solely for the views and private bar access in the downstairs lobby. The swim up room was pretty cool. It has an infinity pool that connects to your neighbors. Provides slight privacy by way of shrubs but I had cool neighbors so we didn't mind mingling. Most of the time we were out there by ourselves. Ours was on the opposite side of the club suite building and had more sunlight. The resort food is ok but nothing to rave over. If you want authentic Mexican cuisine you'd have to go off the resort. The staff is super helpful and friendly. If you haven't converted your money you can do it at check in but the exchange rate may be higher. I had all inclusive so food and drinks were included. If you get a room on the club side I believe premium liquor is included in the all inclusive as well.

Yelp
I have to give it a 2 just Because we didn't get what we paid for just checked out of the hotel room 1104 on 6/1/2022 Swim Up room .When we booked the room The website never said you Guys was renovating, So we never got to experience getting any drinks from The swim up or use the whole pool. A tarp was covering the pool and there's paint chips all in the pool . When we went to the front desk there was no help really hope you guys will let the next person know that you will renovating because we didn't get what we paid for.

Yelp
Really nice place, just a few minutes from the center of Zona Romantica and feels like an entirely different place. Well, it is, so there's that. Private, quiet beach; many pools, some quieter than others; servers and hosts abound and all staff we encountered were extremely helpful and happy. Food was pretty good, decent amount of vegan options and essentially everything you could want to drink was available. Our room was spacious (Club Tower) and clean, with a nicely stocked mini-fridge. Enormous shower! Had a chance to take in one of the evening "fire shows" and it was spectacular. Small but well-equipped fitness center with a nice spacious outdoor area adjacent to it, and plenty of fresh air in there. We were treated to a stay here so I can't comment on its value -- but it certainly is worth a stay, even for just a few nights like we did.

Yelp
Aside from the private beach, this HYATT is the worst one I've ever stayed at. This hotel did not live up to its 4 star standards. This is probably a 2 star at most. The food is absolutely horrendous and the Mexican restaurant was never open during the weekend we were here. Expect to wait an hour for the Blaze restaurant, then another wait for your waiter and food. The buffet was only open during certain times so we only had it once during our 4 day stay. When you're enjoying the pool, they close the food service at 4pm, so don't expect any snacks or munchies during that time. They advertise a "fruit cart" but there was none. The rooms are not maintained well. There's stains on the white walls, the mini fridge was broken, the windows didn't close properly (letting mosquitos and flies into the room). We had to tell the staff each day about these issues. The next day the shower head was not working to switch from waterfall to the attachment so we had to ask the front desk AGAIN if they could fix it. The biggest issue was the shower floors! It was so uneven and not smooth so my sister cut the bottom of her foot while showering and started bleeding badly. We voiced our concerns to the staff because this meant she can't participate in any water activities and they verbally said they won't take any responsibility for this. There was no sincerity and they didn't offer any kind of compensation for this faulty shower issue. We wasted our time and vacation with so many random problems that I would not recommend this resort to anyone. BEWARE! Really disappointed in their food, room cleanliness, customer service, and overall experience. I've been to Hyatt Ziva Cancun and that one is so much better. For an all inclusive in Puerto Vallarta, choose a different resort at all costs!

Yelp
The front desk staff Miss Naomi can improve her attitude. She is the one with accent so it could be hard to understand her when she speaks fast, if you ask her to repeat she gets angry and talks to you as is if you are the problem and speaks down to you. The front desk staff in general have a very bad attitude. So many desks around the lobby that pressure you to buy something. I'm on vacation and not interested, harassed everyday to buy.

Yelp
I came here for a wedding and the property is really unique! The beach is secluded between two mountains so you don't have any neighboring resorts and the beach is quiet, peaceful and well maintained. The resort is small but it makes getting around super easy. Some parts of the resort are under construction so it's not the prettiest in those areas. However, I never felt like the construction was in the way of activities or gave off a lot of noise. The service was outstanding and I never had any issues with the staff. Everyone was super friendly and always willing to help and answer questions. The food... I wish the food was better! That was the only downfall here :( We did not have a good meal at Blaze (did not like the meat) and the wedding food was lackluster. However, the Mexican restaurant was awesome! Did not have a chance to check out the Italian or Asian restaurant as we were only here for 3 days. The buffet was good for breakfast. The room service was actually really good and was delivered quickly. Overall, a really nice experience here. The views are amazing, the pools were nice and the resort was not too crowded. If the food was better, this would have been a 5-star experience for sure!I

Yelp
I booked a room with a balcony and then got an offer to upgrade to a room with a bigger balcony and paid extra for it. It turns out my "upgrade" moved me out of a balcony at all because the room changed from 2 double beds to a king. Ironically I preferred 2 doubles. What a complete screw job. Balcony was my number one priority. Hotel will do nothing to fix this.

Yelp
PLEASE RECONSIDER STAYING AT THIS HOTEL!! A little boy, age 1.5 fell NINE FLOORS to his death here when there was NO GLASS in a window in his parents' hotel room and he tumbled out! The parents have filed a lawsuit against the hotel. How could the maintenance in this hotel be that bad? And why would they rent the room to anyone, especially someone with a toddler!

Yelp
Just completed a 3 night, 4 day stay here and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice staff. Nice room. Nice beach. GREAT ocean. Overall: 3.3/5 Transportation: We used a prearranged private shuttle service that took three of us to and from the hotel for a little under $300. Nice, spacious vans the sat us comfortably with air conditioning and nice drivers who pointed out places to know as we drove through Puerto Vallarta. Food: They have 5 restaurants to chose from and we ate at 4 of them. Italian was by far my least favorite of them all. Blaze has an amazing ocean view right on the water and the hot wings were amazing. The shrimp skewers at Casa Grande are a MUST HAVE. Full of spice and flavor which is more than I can say about a majority of food I had over the past few days. The buffets omelets were also really good and they have a lot of options for both breakfast and lunch to help bring some variety to your day. They also had a taco station outside of the buffet one day with fresh tortillas- yum! The drinks were of course endless, some stronger than others but for the most part they were really good and the bartenders kept them flowing!! Activities: Cabana- Went with the $60 option so got champagne (which they never brought) and sushi. They didn't pay attention to my food allergy so sushi platter had to be repaid. You get the cabana from 9-5 with personal service. In a perfect spot of the beach with no a lot of traffic. Right by Blaze and some rocks that was a perfect place to take pictures. Comes with a bed that could fit about three people and two beach chairs. Massage- If you do nothing else while here, get a massage. AMAZING. 100000/10. Rosy has the hands of an angel and I left feel beyond refreshed. After your massage they have a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and pool for you to utilize. These things are all included in your service but if you don't get a service you can utilize the spa area for $25. All spa staff was phenomenal. Prices of massages range based on length of massage and type of massage. Hyatt members receive 20% off. Tequilla Tasting- This was an offsite tasting that we did through Discover, who do the tours for Hyatt Ziva. We got to try about 7 different tequilas and took a long bus tour through Puerto Vallarta and stopping to take pictures. The host of our bus tour as well as the man who hosted the tasting were great. We even got to stop by a local coffee shop and try some of their blends. Was only $35 pp and they have a personal photographer whom you can purchase pictures from at the end of the tour. Cons: - saw a mouse at dinner at Blaze -spots on sheets upon arrival -COLD in the rooms at night -not a lot of flavor in the food -restaurants were pretty slow -not everyone wears mask (as if you don't have to test positive to get back into the US) Pros: -can hear the ocean at night (may be a con depending on what you like) -kind staff -room service - mini bar restocked every day -not a lot of people so very spaced out -COVID testing on site -for flat rate of $50 you can stay at hotel for up to 10 days if you test positive for COVID

Yelp
TL;DR: Hyatt Ziva refused to take responsibility for an injury (foot cut open, bleeding) caused by unsafe shower conditions at their resort. ***DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! For a 4 star, all inclusive resort, this has been the worst experience by far. This is more on a 2 star rating. First, our room was poorly maintained. The handheld shower never worked since we checked in. We asked them to fix it the entire duration of our stay and it's still broken as I'm writing this review. The water pressure is low to the point where it takes too much time to shower and rinse off. Second, the mini fridge wasn't cold, we asked them to fix it multiple times, also to no avail. Third, there were flies and mosquitoes in our room upon arrival. There's also weird stains on the walls. Fourth, a lot of restaurants were closed and unavailable during our stay (not really "all inclusive"). The food was also pretty bad. Don't have any expectations of eating authentic Mexican food because there wasn't any available. Dinner buffet was never open as well. Fifth, the shower flooring was uneven slabs so there were sharp blade, knife like edges. I stepped into the shower and it sliced the bottom of my foot open. As a result, I was unable to do any of the activities we had planned for our last day of the trip. The hotel manager, Jorge Chavez, verbally told us that they will not take responsibility and did nothing to accommodate our stay. The customer service at a 5 star resort is extremely horrendous. Last, the hotel manager Jorge Chavez, LIED and said the hotel director of room division is unavailable and not on site when we asked to speak to someone higher in management. We found out from another staff member that the hotel director is actually here. If the hotel manager LIES, how do you feel safe to stay and be treated with respect at their resort? Due to this injury, I was unable to participate in any activities. The rest of our trip was ruined. Hyatt Ziva did not meet any quality or standards of expectations for a 4 star resort. ***DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!

Yelp
We booked this hotel as a 40th birthday celebration for my husband with a few friends who had been to the property several times before. Unfortunately, when we arrived we found out that there was major construction happening at the property. There was loud Jack hammering all day, power going off and on in the whole resort as well as water not working. We said something to the manager and he didn't offer us anything as far as points or compensation. Then reached out to Hyatt and they were very rude and said there was minimal construction. They only offered me 500 points which is basically a slap in the face. Do better Hyatt. Show your costumers that you care.
