The Hyde Hotel in Ibiza certainly presents a beautiful image in its brochures and from the outside. However, the actual experience reveals some areas for improvement.
While the hotel's decor is appealing and the rooms are generally adequate, offering comfortable beds and decent bathrooms, the air-conditioning can be quite noisy. Operationally, some aspects could be smoother.
The check-in process can feel a bit clunky, and guests are required to pay a compulsory €50 per room, per night deposit. For those arriving before 3:00 PM who wish to use the pool, be prepared to change in the reception toilets and store luggage in a holding area.
Observations suggest that staff attentiveness is inconsistent, and there's often limited information provided about hotel facilities or the local area. A welcome pack in the rooms would be beneficial here.
Additionally, the hotel appears to attract a clientele that is often very focused on financial appearance, which may contribute to the overall atmosphere and interactions within the hotel.
Breakfast is well provisioned, and there are a good number of options that should cater to most requirements.
Unfortunately, as with check-in, check-out is extremely chaotic. Be warned - there are no shower or changing facilities provided by the hotel that are available for use post check-out. This, if you have a later flight or transfer, could make beach and pool use unappealing.
To end on a positive, the location of Cala Llonga is exquisite. Fantastic local beaches, bars, and restaurants on the doorstep.
