My wife and I love and Indian cuisine. Searching for a new place to try, we happened on Hyderabad House. I do not have a negative comment to report.
The funny thing is, not being Muslim, we pulled into the parking lot in Dunwoody, around the corner from the Perimeter Target store. It was still sunny out and there were many, many groups of Indian Muslims milling about the lot. Quickly, we realized they were all waiting for Iftar, the time after sunset, during Ramadan when Muslims can break their fast. We hurried inside in order to order and beat the Iftar rush! Smart move!!
Service was solicitous and prompt, answering all of our questions and making suggestions for dishes we might enjoy. Our delicious food was served promptly (we assumed many of the dishes that the menu said would take 20-30 minutes were preprepared in advance to accommodate the Iftar rush.)
My wife ordered Tandoori chicken while I had a chicken biryani. We shared an order of puri. Both dishes were very authentic and flavorful. I asked for mine to be spiced as the local folks would eat. It was, and was very spicy which I love.
This is a large space, formerly an Applebees. It is now bright, clean and comfortable. Great service, nice ambiance and very tasty food. Plus, the prices are quite reasonable.
If you crave spicy, Southwest Indian cuisine you should try this restaurant. Be aware, no alcohol is permitted nor served.
