"The city of Hyderabad in India is known for its specific style of biryani. And namesake restaurant in Dallas showcases the specialty. The menu has Indian favorites such as butter chicken, palak paneer, and chicken tikka, and the mutton and chicken Hyderabadi dum biryani is a must order." - Courtney E. Smith, Didi Paterno

What's to say... Off the top of my head, quite possibly some of the best Indian food I've ever had. I've been to many an Indian restaurant and had many an Indian home-cooked meal. Of all the places I've been, this one currently stands out the most. I got the Achari Chicken, deep, smoky, tangy, Incredible depth of flavor. The serving size was pretty good and there was enough sauce to take home and make some more. The garlic naan is hands down easily the best garlic naan I've ever had. The bottom was crispy, the edges were puffy. It was stretchy and moist and chewy. It was absolutely perfect and they are massive. The atmosphere takes a little getting used to, but I love it. It felt like I was over at my aunt's house. Very homey and friendly. 10 out of 10 would absolutely recommend, don't miss out on this local gem.

Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) We recently visited this place, and it was an great experience! The food was absolutely delicious and fresh, with a wide variety of options and spice levels that catered to all tastes. I was impressed by how flavorful and authentic the dishes were – definitely a taste of home for anyone familiar with this cuisine. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making sure we felt comfortable throughout our meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, and nevertheless clean. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. We had leftovers for lunch the next day! Overall, I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for great halal food. Keep up the great work!

Google
Fantastic place! We got the lamb curry and the butter chicken and both were delicious. We got mild spice and it was pretty hot for two Americans! Everything they serve is super fresh and the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. The naan is the best we’ve ever had and the saffron chai was wonderful (we got a large container to take home). Cannot recommend this place enough!

Google
Food was amazing as well as the service, this food taste like it’s very authentic Indian food, it’s very fresh. The naan is best there is! I recommend get the chili pepper naan, it has a bit of a kick to it but it tastes amazing! The fried fish is the best fish I’ve ever tried in the Dallas area! Very soft and great taste to it! Had a friend fly from out of town to just come try this place out!

Google
Everything about this place is so great! By far the best Indian food in the area!! Our food was extra fresh and the people there are so great in offering recommendations and giving the best service, very personable and kind. To top it off, the flavor profiles are immaculate and I will be coming back regularly!

So, we were really craving some haleem and came across a review saying it was the best ever at Hyderabad Biryani. We thought, why not give it a shot? Right from the start, the staff was super friendly and helped us figure out what to order for our family of six. They gave us great tips on portion sizes, which we really appreciated. The place smelled amazing, and we could hardly wait to get home and dig in! We ordered a grill platter, 2 mutton biryani, and of course, 2 Orders haleem. Once we got home, we didn’t waste any time. The naan was perfectly cooked, and the biryani? Oh man, it was so tasty—pure bliss! The haleem was just like true Hyderabadi style; we all gobbled it up way too fast. The grill platter was a hit too! All the meat was tender, the chicken was juicy, and the beef made us drool. Seriously, hats off to the chef for this delicious feast. If you prefer eating in, they have a casual dining area too. Overall, great service, authentic food, and everything was cooked to perfection. Our hearts, souls, and stomachs are so happy—alhamdulillah! Can't wait to go back for more tasty treats! Highly recommend!

Forgot to take photos before I ate lol, great place! Anyone who has written a bad review for this place needs to get checked by a medical doctor and psychiatrist. Food was absolutely AMAZING, the owner(?) was such a sweet woman explaining about the food, never cleared my plate faster!!! Will definitely be coming back!!! Naan was so soft and crispy at the same time, chicken curry was very tender and flavorful!! We shared a bunch of dishes which were all great, wonderful if you like spicy food too ^^

Google
Absolute gem of a place and the food is TO DIE FOR. They served us garlic naan the size of Texas and the Butter Chicken was scrumptious. We got Medium spice and chased it down with a creamy Mango Lassi! 🥭 Thank you Abdul & Fatima for your kindness & hospitality! We will be back for that mutton briyani!!

Kari B.

Yelp
We went to a party where this was catered and it was A M A Z I N G!!!! We had the butter chick, mutton biriyani, and garlic naan. This is the best Indian food in Dallas. The others at the party went back for 2nds and 3rds it was so good!

Yelp
Great hole in the wall spot in a very random part of dallas. The food is outstanding. I'm docking a star for the pricing. Service is great as well. Pricing is on par with spots in a higher end part of town. I don't expect to pay uptown pricing when I'm surrounded by random massage parlors and industrial buildings. The prices in the menu also seem to always be out of date with updates on a board in the shop. Now the food is legit . Amazing taste and portions are decent as well. The naan portion is HUGE! But don't opt for the upgrades as a cheese naan was 7.99 and garlic naan was 6.99 I think when we were there. A regular naan ran us $4 which was initially shocking but then a nice value when it came out! The curries all run in the double digit range and the kabobs will set you back even more. We also got for the chicken tikka masala and the chicken 65. Another thing that perturbed me was the lack of tap water available. It was only bottle or sodas from the cooler. Again, back to the value thing! All in all the spot is good. The food is fresh and the service is fine. Worth checking out if you happen to be in the area!

Yelp
Definitely a hole in the wall spot. Don't go for the ambiance (there's not much other than a few tables inside), go for the food. I ordered over the phone and picked up in person - no complaints with how my order was placed and handled. I ordered the Chicken 65 and naan based on a recommendation from a Pakistani friend; also decided to get the samosas when I was in the store about to pick up my order. This definitely hit the craving I was having, and the food was great. Naan was super thick and fluffy, and was plenty big to eat the Chicken 65 with. It's hard to describe what chicken 65 is - it's spicy, breaded chicken marinated in a bunch of other spices. If you've never had it before, it's a pretty safe way to introduce yourself into the cuisine. Samosas were also great - crispy on the outside, plenty of filling on the inside. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to satisfy their Indian/Pakistani food cravings. Pricing was very reasonable as well (I think $14-15 for the chicken 65, $3 for naan, $3 for samosas).

Harsha S.

Yelp
I was greeted when I entered and provided a menu. The prices on the menu seemed different from what was provided on the posted menu online. Anyways, I asked for a Chicken Biryani, but they had mentioned they had unusually run out. I went ahead and ordered takeout for Chicken 65 and 2 Vegetable Samosas. The Chicken 65 had a lot of garnish and was very spicy. It had a little garlic as well. The samosas were very flaky and full of filling. It would have been nice if I was provided some napkins or plastic fork/spoon with the boxes. The price seemed quite high for the appetizer. I'll be going back for the Chicken Biryani and hope it's what I expect. I'll update this review after.

Amelia L.

Yelp
The restaurant was closed for remodeling when we arrived, very disappointed. We thought it would be open when we picked it but this sign was here where the spot should be.

Catherine C.

Yelp
This is a hole-in-the-wall gem! I cannot wait to come back here. It's a small but cozy place with random art on the walls and we had to wait a bit for our seats because it was so full! For the price, the quality of the food is impeccable. The naan is the size of a pizza!!! That is all. We had a good amount of leftovers and were stuffed afterwards. Also, the mango lassi is heavenly, would recommend. The best I've ever had!

Ify O.

Yelp
Best hidden gem I've found all year in an area I wouldn't expect to find good food. This has to be some of the best Indian food I've had in Dallas and very reasonably priced for the portion sizes. I came in a random day after work to order to go and the door was constantly revolving with people picking up orders, which was a reassuring sign because the dining area was empty. I decided to be basic and order chicken tikka masala. While I was waiting Mohammad who was working the front/cashier was so friendly and personable and was kind enough to give me a veggie samosa while I waited. Let me tell you the burst of flavor was phenomenal and it was perfectly crispy and I'm definitely getting it with my meal next time. Mohammad highly endorsed the biryani with BBQ next time I come. My good came out fast considering how many orders they had and when I got home it was still nice and warm. The tikka masala was nice and creamy with very good flavor a little on the sweeter side but it wasn't a turn off. A superb first visit to my new go to Indian place and can't wait to try the biryani, BBQ, and the garlic naan next time!

Mark P.

Yelp
It was a hot day in early July, a perfect day for Hyderabadi food. I ordered Goat Biryani and Chicken 65. Full points for presentation for both. The food came quickly, but I wouldn't call the service "attentive." The man who took my order and the women who cashed me out were friendly and pleasant. But I hadn't selected the restaurant for the service: I was there for the Biryani. The Biryani was a little mild for my taste, but the Chicken 65 was superb: easily the best Chicken 65 I've had in America. To be sure, Chicken 65 is never bad, but theirs was transcendent. So it's fair to say I went for the Biryani and stayed for the Chicken.

Karima A.

Yelp
Went here to try their biryani and were not disappointed! We ordered Hyderabadi mutton biryani, chicken biryani and dhaga kabab. All of it was flavorful and tasted great! The only thing was when we arrived, they were having issues with their credit card reader was not working since morning.. which they could have told us when we called to place the order.. we hd to zelle them the amount and even though the owner said he had hiven us a discount due to this problem, we still found the food to be expensive as the prices on their menu displayed at the restaurant was different than what was displayed online.. But the food was good overall..

Lula S.

Yelp
Went there for the first time today on our lunch break from work and it was AMAZING!!! Called restaurant before they even opened and they kindly took our order and it was ready 5 mins after got to the restaurant! We were rushing because we had a call shortly after our lunch and they really made everything so quickly that it was perfect! Nicest people ever at this restaurant and it is very very clean and nice inside. We highly recommend everything we got which was chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, garlic naan, and the veggie samosas. Awesome place. Will be back.

Jojo M.

Yelp
Very Authentic! Everyone is friendly and the food is good every time! Basmati Rice Butter Chicken Chicken Biryani Chicken Tikka Masala

Joshua L.

Yelp
Food was not good. Found hair on food. No tap water provided, needed to purchase bottles of water. Do not recommend, photos do not match with food provided. Was hoping for authentic hole in the wall experience. This was not the case.

Chris M.

Yelp
Naan was HUGE. Food was good. Prices have gone up from the posted menu. Overall, I wish the servings were a little bigger.

Matt W.

Yelp
I stopped in here when I had an hour to kill before flying out of Love field and felt like some Indian food. I got the butter chicken and the green chili naan. It was probably the best meal I have had in 6 months. The naan came out piping hot and soft, just perfect texture. The flavors were also spot on. Chicken tender and delicious. Portions huge but they are happy to send you home with a take home container of your leftovers. Highly recommended. It's a hole-in-the-wall. Don't be fooled. This place is legit.

Lesly A.

Yelp
I love Indian food and have tried many places and let me say Amazing garlic naan best I've tried!!!! Nice hole in the wall service is good and the food is so so delicious.

Leslie F.

Yelp
Fabulous food! Great service too. We ordered the butter chicken and the tikka masala. So delish!

Jesika H.

Yelp
Oh oh oh OHHHHHH! Their butter chicken stands FIRM ALONE IN THE ARMY OF WINNERS!! Their garlic naan will make you jump in your car and drive an hour for that Xtra large garlic buttery goodness! I literally have not deviated from my order. Sometimes the butter chicken is supper spicy, other times its on the mild side. Either way.. it is a 10 out of 10!!

John P.

Yelp
I had the butter masala and garlic naan bread, both amazing. The naan is a huge portion, I only ate about a 1/4 of it and took the leftovers back to work. It was quickly destroyed by several co-workers. Place is small and you can pass it in a blink of an eye but definitely worth stopping by for. My waitress recommended their hot tea, I was a little skidding to try it but it was the most amazing drink I've ever had. Will definitely be revisiting again.

Marisa G.

Yelp
Can't comment on the food as I never got the chance to eat here. This review is strictly on service. We placed a pickup order (we're traveling from out of state) and accidentally went to the wrong restaurant that had a very similar name. This restaurant then called me to ask where Iw as for the pickup. I told them I made a mistake, I'm not from this area I'm sorry but we went to the wrong location. They then started yelling and screaming at us about how what we did is wrong, we made them waste food, what are we going to do about the problem, etc. We couldn't make it there to pickup as they were closing in 10 minutes and we were 25 away. I would've been happy to pay for a portion of the wasted meal EXCEPT for the fact that she treated us like that after we apologized and said we're sorry! What kind of customer service is that?! I work in good service management myself and would NEVER talk to a customer like that, even if they are in the wrong.

Liz C.

Yelp
First time here...the samosas and the green sauce with them were good. The Biryani and the Curry Chicken were a pretty huge serving, so we shared. The naan was also a big portion. The Beef Shami was way over spiced, like it had the entire thing of pepper added to it and it wasn't tender, maybe made too thick. We ate and had enough for leftovers. I may try it again for lunch sometime...

Shanzay K.

Yelp
I really liked the butter chicken! And the service was also really good! I would defenietly recommend coming here for food!

Jay S.

Yelp
This place is totally legit. Had the chicken biryani and garlic naan ... both were exceptionally good and exceptionally large portions. I would say best to grab and go, but plan to go back again and again and again.

Stephen W.

Yelp
After spending several hours looking at granite at nearby warehouses we were hungry and this was close. So off we went. The restaurant is, shall we say, extremely modest and located in a sketchy part of Dallas. Often, great food is found at dives so we were not deterred. The food was 4 star. We both got chicken tikka masala, samosa, and a soda. The samosa was cold but the dipping sauce was tasty. The chicken tikka masala was freshly made to order. It was both sweeter and spicier than I've had in the past but it was very tasty and I have no complaints. The fresh naan bread was outstanding, not at all greasy. I was going to give the restaurant 4 stars based on the food and considering the ambience but then I was overcharged (no receipt, they just tell you what the bill is) and I did not get the 5% cash discount, so I penalized them down to 3 stars.

Jeff M.

Yelp
This is a decent spot to get some biryani. I tried the chicken biryani. While it was flavorful and tasted great, I found it to be quite a bit spicy for me. I would say that if you can't handle a bit of spice, this place may not be ideal for you, as I got the "mild" version of the biryani (which still tasted very spicy). I also had a bit of butter chicken and naan, and both items tasted great. The employees at this restaurant were also very friendly. Overall, while this place has some decent food, I would use caution if you aren't good at handling some spice, as the biryani here was definitely spicy.

Anusha R.

Yelp
I drove to Dallas for the first time for a concert and from everything I'd gathered so far, I thought Dallas had the best Indian food. Out of all the highly rated places, this place was 4.7 rated and a disaster all the same. I am so disappointed with Indian food scene in Dallas. I really hope I find a better Indian restaurant here. The biriyani was literally tasteless turmeric rice; both vegetarian and chicken. The lamp chops we ordered was burnt bones. The paneer tikka was articulacy colored blocks of tasteless sponge. The kheer was basically just milk and rice. I'm so sorry but y'all need a good chef. If you eat even in the lowest rated restaurant in Austin, it'll still be better than this place.

Alexana S.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with a warm smile, the service was impeccable and very helpful. As far as the food goes...omg the garlic naan came out fresh and hot. I suggest ordering you will not be disappointed.

Shiva K.

Yelp
Pathetic lamb biryani today, and the chicken appetizer Worst food so far in dallas area. Need not go back. Crossing off my list

Austin B.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful food! Definitely recommend the kabobs and naan! The baby naan is massive, definitely not a baby.

Tiju V.

Yelp
Biriyani was so salty didn't eat more than a bite please don't go there by review I made that mistake and paid for it 2 biriyani 1 PTM $58 not worth it guys

N J.

Yelp
I've been to this place twice, and have tried different dishes each time -- all have been amazing! The chai is also yum! The ambiance is a low key, mom pop shop, but they are very hospitable and super helpful when needing to make a decision. Tonight we opted for chicken Briyani, achari chicken, garlic naan and Kurbani Ka meeta. Previously we tried daal, chicken65 and nihari. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes on their menu! Highly recommend this place.

Manu C.

Yelp
The biriyani is really good and appetizer is so so. But the ambience is not good. The place seems dirty and we were given paper plates to eat. The paper plates are dirty and they've changed like 5 plates and all of those have some dirt marks on them. At the end, we cleaned it with some water and ate the food. Wish the cleanliness aspect is taken care of.

Barbara F.

Yelp
Excellent. They raised their prices after the fire last year. Good Masala, BBQ, good rice, mango lassi, rice pudding, and palak paneer. Excellent Roti bread.

Ahmed S.

Yelp
Legendary food and service. The naan here is unique It's made with really delicious nigella saliva seeds All the kabobs are fresh and made to order Biryani is outstanding Service is incredible and very very friendly The kind people at this place deserve the best and their Food is pure excellence !!!

Drake S.

Yelp
I tried this place based on reviews on yelp and decided this would be a good place for my first time trying Indian cuisine. My wife and I ordered a vegetable samosa, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani and a garlic naan all of it was very good and flavorful along with very good portions we definitely over ordered but we wanted to try a wide range of items. The service was very nice and accommodating for our son who is allergic to dairy. Once we had mentioned his allergy the owner personally went back into the kitchen and made him his own dairy free naan, free of charge. Definitely easy to miss and not much to behold inside but looked clean and had a very friendly and welcoming staff. I would definitely recommend and I will be back again and again.

Pritish B.

Yelp
The tandoori chicken was spot on , reminded me of India. Both the chicken and mutton biryani were average.Did not seem like the meat was cooked along with the rice or the rice was cooked with the meat stock. It could have been better when I see a 4 star review. That commands for better taste I believe. The lady at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I am pretty sure half of the stars on yelp must be for her. I felt the mutton in the biryani was still a little gamey, which I do not like. The interior of the shop won't impress you.The quantity was according to the price.I may go back for their tandoori chicken.

Tim F.

Yelp
Excellent, authentic food. Great service. It is a small, non-fancy location, but these kinds of places are what I often look for because the food quality tends to be better, and the prices are usually reasonable, and this place doesn't disappoint on either. A hidden gem.

Joshua C.

Yelp
Hole in the wall restaurants are a hit or miss. This place was DEFINITELY a HIT! The plaza it's in is very sketchy, but once you get inside, it's a quaint and clean sit down restaurant. The customer service is very friendly. Best of all, the food was incredible! This was the best Garlic Naan I've ever had in my life. It's huge and so fluffy and delicious! The butter chicken and biryani rice were flawless and the mango lassi was just right. I didn't try everyone else's dishes but they all looked amazing and everyone else was very pleased with their food

Karlie M.

Yelp
Do NOT be deceived by the outside of this restaurant!! The staff, especially our new friend Mohammed, is very friendly and everything is very clean. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. Taste was EXCELLENT! The portions were very generous and both entrees came with yummy basmati rice. The chicken in both dishes was cooked to perfection and had so much flavor. The naan was about as big as a large pizza so definitely can be shared by the table. If you like a little kick, go for the spicy. It was not too spicy and instead just gave it extra flavor. We have been searching for an Indian food restaurant here in dallas that has good food and won't break your wallet and I can happily say, look no further! We will definitely be back.

Gary B.

Yelp
I've driven by this place numerous times over the last several months. Finally decided to expand my horizons and try food I'm not familiar with and clueless about. Asked the owner what he recommended, he asked a few questions about likes/dislikes and levels of spice. He suggested a chicken dish (I think it was butter chicken) with a medium spice level and a side of Naan. Food came out relatively fast, plate was absolutely overflowing with a very generous portion of food. 1st bite had me hooked until I had some with the Naan. Then it was game on, only wish I could have finished it....the leftovers will be lunch tomorrow. Great flavor, will definitely be back and try another item. There was another customer there who said she always eats the rice dish that's pictured on the front door. Don't recall the name but I'll ask next time. On top of great food for a reasonable price, if you pay cash you get an extra 5% off. Bottom line, great food, great price and maybe the best of all is supporting a local, family owned business.

Isaiah J.

Yelp
Food is great. Price is high but understand you can share these plates. One order of butter chicken and one order of naan for sure feed two people of your just looking for a decent meal. I paid 50$ for two people but flavor was nice so I'm going to give 5 stars.

David M.

Yelp
Don't let the size or location of this place lead you astray! I've tried a lot of Indian food restaurants around the DFW metroplex and so far this place has the best chicken tikka masala and garlic naan bread that I've had in a very long time. Will definitely be back, and I live over an hour away west of Fort Worth if that tells you anything!

Naveen K.

Yelp
Food was average and mutton biryani is ok ok I have called for the order status to restaurant and owner was like try our Hyderabadi Biryani it's the best in Dallas but I felt it's ok ok not up to owner's expectations I would say. Cons Naan was too heavy like a dough ball and very thick

Jenna C.

Yelp
Don't overlook this place at all! A must go for anyone who loves Indian food...everything is DELICIOUS!!! We got the garlic naan bread (HUGE, warm, fluffy, and the best garlic flavor), butter chicken (perfect flavor with tender chicken & rice, good portion too!!), and the chicken tikka masala (some of the best I've ever had). If you like spice go for spicy, it was not too hot but a great heat. Everything was seriously out of this world. Even the service, Mohammad was so friendly, we have a new friend! It will be hard to not go every chance we have!

InSue K.

Yelp
Go for the goat biryani.. not for the ambiance. Everything I've tried has been excellent. Prices are reasonable. Try the chai tea while you wait for the order.

Rob H.

Yelp
I've eaten here many times even when it was Meerkut(?) Today when I stopped in for lunch I noticed there was a whiteboard on a easel that said we have adjusted some of our menu items please take note and then there's a list of about seven items written underneath which didn't concern me because I wanted chicken Tikka masala and I could see it on the menu propped up on the ordering station at $12.77 and I thought that's quite a bit for lunch but okay I guess and maybe I just won't have naan. I offered to pay as I had in the past and she shooed me away to go ahead and eat and then pay so when I got to the checkout I figured out quickly why... The price was about $2 more and I asked why and she shook her finger at the board and I said yes I saw that but there's no mention of chicken tikka masala; only these other seven items and she told me it doesn't matter it's still the same even though it's not listed. I told her I didn't think that was very professional and very unethical and I could see why she made me wait to pay after I'd eaten. I said you should reword this to say simply all of our prices have increased please ask before ordering or something to that effect. I would never have eaten lunch for almost $18 and moreover the portion seemed smaller than it ever had been -even the rice was chinchy in size and not adequate enough -Rice!.. one of the cheapest staples on the planet. I was very disappointed and I highly doubt I'll be going back again after all these years -how you remedy my dissatisfaction and then I can't complain.

Al M.

Yelp
Ok... I read few reviews and thought theses people who are reviewing are over doing it. To my surprise this place is freeking making Bad Azz Biryani. Not kidding. You have to try this out if you like Biryani or people who do not know Biryani it is like Chicken and Rice with actual spices and flavors to open your taste buds to amazing food. Very Impressed!!!

Chris H.

Yelp
This is consistently good food and good value. The Biryani is always part of our order. Everything we have tried in more than 6 trips has been very good.

Caden P.

Yelp
Family owned feel. The food was delicious and I loved the mango lassi for the first time trying one. I recommend the butter chicken and garlic naan! Definitely will be returning!

Anthoney s.

Yelp
Mango lassi is so good! Service was ok and ambiance was mid. Would recommend also the chicken curry was good to.

Manasvi D.

Yelp
Tge best Biryani in the recent times. The odor and flavor of the food was simply outstanding
