It's quasi controversial, but I think this 짜장면 is better than any of the other ones in New York. - black bean noodle - seafood soup noodle (짬뽕) - fried beef with sauce on the side (탕수육)

It was my first meal during my trip to New York, and I definitely want to go back ASAP! I had 짬짜면 (jjam-jja-myeon), and it was SO GOOD! I highly recommend jjambbong here. If you like spicy food, their jjambbong is the real deal!

Google
Had Jjamjjamyun (half jjajangmyun and half jjamppong). It tasted like the nice jjajangmyuns and jjamppng I had in Korea. The noodles were chewy, and both the jjajangmyun and jjamppong had the nice oiliness and richness in flavour. The fried dumplings had nice crispy surface. I would however not recommend the tang su yuk, that was made with beef instead of pork. The meat had slight unpleasant tone that can come from defrosted meat. The place looked like a cute pub.

A friend introduced me to this place years ago and it's been my favorite Chinese-Korean restaurant to go to. So underrated and easy to miss spot. I mainly come here for their jjajangmyeon (N2. noodles with brown sauce). It's my favorite here and as of right now, better than any spot in the town area specifically this dish. Noodles are perfectly chewy and combined with the fresh aroma of the sauce, filled with sweet onions and baby chunks of meat- it's hard to find any fault with it! Maybe except that if you didn't know what it was, it's not exactly visually appealing. But taste wise... mmmmm!! I've passed the word along to other friends and coworkers and they always ask to come back here with me. "When's our next Noods date?" Haha Besides the jjajangmyeon, I also recommend their Spicy Seafood soup! It's not terribly spicy- just a tiny kick to your taste buds. The soup tastes especially good on a cold winter day. When I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, I usually go for their N1, which is a combination of the jjajangmyeon and their Spicy seafood soup. A bowl split down the middle so you have half portion of each. Best of both worlds! Also have had their fried pork dumplings. They're very oily but if you can overlook that, they're crispy yet juicy on the inside and filled with lots of meaty goodness. Also comes with a sweet dipping sauce. I don't get this every time but when I do- definitely no regrets. Their kimchi is a hit or miss. Somehow not always consistent. But their yellow pickled radish tastes good especially with the jjajangmyeon. Every time I come here, the staff are always nice and welcomes you at the door. I've always been seated right away and service has always been excellent.

They over-charged us for 3 items. When we sat down, they expected us to order right away or someone will take the seat. Absolutely worse service. When we got the check, they charged $19.95 for all 3 items. We ordered N10, bulgolgi over rice and seafood pancake. Furthermore, when we asked for clarification, they stated that’s the price. After paying for our food, they questioned us why tip is so low and stated “no one tips this low”. Tipping should not be mandatory. And if the expectation is to receive tips then provide better service. Absolutely worse service.

Best Korean Chinese restaurant in ny in my opinion. Their jjajangmyun and jjambbong are amazing and also most of other dishes as well. You can’t go wrong with any dishes here

TLDR: If you are craving for Korean-Chinese in the city, it'll get the job done. Go for lunch time and take advantage of the combo that gives a small sweet and sour beef with the spicy seafood or jajangmyun noodles. I had walked by this place so many times so I figured let's give it a try. Price was decent, the interior is a bit dated but let's focus on the food. Fried dumplings. Standard, crispy (almost too crispy maybe) lots of filling but what you'd expect. Crunchy, greasy, fatty meat, lots of garlic chives. I opted for the jjampong and small sweet and sour beef combo. The beef is already dressed which I don't love the sweet sauce in general but it was still decently crispy. Spicy seafood noodles were decent, good wok flavor. For $21.95, this kind of combo in this area; it's not bad.

If y’all haven’t had Korean Chinese food, what are you waiting for?! I went to Hyo Dong Gak, which is right outside of ktown NYC and ordered their $19 split bowl, which came with a big portion of jjangmyeon and a big portion of seafood jampong. The noodles were perfectly chewy without being too soft. The jjangmyeon had the right amount of sauce and came with tiny pieces of pork. The jampong had a TON of seafood including big shrimp with the head on, baby shrimp, mussels and octopus. For $19 you really can’t go wrong, that’s almost unheard of in NYC! The restaurant was crowded on a random Tuesday evening, but I didn’t have to wait long to get seated and I never felt rushed. The staff was extremely friendly and even gave us small packaged candies to take home with us! I will definitely be back! Follow me on instagram for more! @angies_foodie_adventures

Google
A little walk from Korea town proper but the 5 minutes is worth it for the seafood blackbean noodles 간짜장, flavor is authentic to Korea. was busy during our visiting but not sure overall you may have to wait a little but it will be worth it as price is reasonable and the portions are big

Yelp
I think today the jjamppong was lacking flavor but its still good and spicy. The yellow radish and kimchi was not tasty tho. Wasnt super comforting but the spicy seafood soup was pretty satisfying. The tangsuyuk was good, hot and ready. crispy.

Yelp
Great Korean-Chinese restaurant in ktown! We ordered 3 dishes to share. - Gochu jambong: 9/10 (great but super super spicy!!! Not for the faint hearted) - Jajangmyeon: 9/10 (actually pretty authentic jajangmyeon! Almost as good as the ones I had in Korea) - Tangsooyook: 9/10 (good Tangsooyook) Service was fast and good and ambiance was very casual!

Yelp
This place wasn't as busy as the other spots on the block, so that's why my friend and I chose it. I think I've been here before but wasn't quite sure. It's a little bit outdated inside and very simplistic, but as long as it's clean and the food is good, that's what matters. I was craving noodles, so I ended up getting half and half with both noodles with brown sauce and spicy seafood soup. My friend got the combination but didn't get to try those as I am avoiding fried food. My noodles were good, but the portion size seemed small. The price point was good for the location in midtown.
google avatar

Yelp
I always order an order of jjajangmyeon to go. The portion is big and the sauce is so savory with pieces of onions and pork. It takes around 10 minutes for the food to be ready and the staff is super friendly!

Yelp
Solid Korean-style Chinese restaurant. We got the jjajangmyeon + tang su yuk and jjampong + khan pung ki combos. The jjampong broth really hit the spot for me, and the tang su yuk was really nostalgic. The khan pung ki was good too flavor wise, but it was a bit too saucy for me. The jjajangmyeon wasn't exactly my taste, but my partner really liked it. My parents said that this restaurant has been around since before they immigrated over 25 years ago, so it's a testament to the authenticity and quality. The service was super fast and you can tell it's been a staple restaurant for the Korean population here. Will come again when I crave that flavorful jjampong broth!

Yelp
Found this place as it was close to my hotel. I tried their shu mai which seem to just be steamed frozen ones and their Korean fried chicken special. The fried chicken was really good, I had the soy one and it tasted really good. You also get kimchi and pickled radish which is a nice touch. The staff was good, pricey are a bit high but besides that it was good.

Yelp
While Hyo Dong Gak has pretty good jjambong (seafood spicy noodle soup) and jjajangmyun (black bean sauce noodles), I would avoid any of their meats if possible. I got the combo of the seafood spicy noodle soup + chicken and garlic pepper sauce ($22.95) and was very excited to see how large the portion ended up being. It looked very promising and I was excited to eat. Starting off with the good: the noodles were actually very tasty. It's spicier than i'm used to, but I love spice so I enjoyed it. It felt like the bowl was never ending with all the noodles and seafood. However, the soup is definitely on the salty end though so be warned. Now, here's where it gets bad. The chicken was absolutely inedible. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or not but the chicken piece was so small and all you could taste was the batter. It was not cooked thoroughly and every single piece I tried was gummy and didn't taste like meat at all. I hate wasting food, but I genuinely had to spit it out and I stopped eating it after that. I really wish I would've just gotten the noodles on it's own. My stomach also hurt all day afterwards and I couldn't move out of my bed. It honestly seemed so promising and I wanted to like it so bad but I will not be back and do not recommend.

Yelp
Look, Joong Koog Jip in Flushing is my #1 spot for jjajangmyeon, jjampong, and the combined split bowl. By a long shot. But sometimes it's just not logical to take a two-hour train and bus ride for some noodles. (At least that's what people tell me. Not sure I agree.) That's where Hyo Dong Gak comes in. When I'm craving those black bean noodles, their version mostly does the trick, even if the noodles aren't as great as JKJ's. Sadly, the jjampong lacks spiciness and flavor. I'm not really a fan of the tangsuyuk either, which has too much pineapple and is therefore too sweet. And they don't serve kkanpungyuk, the more savory version. But yeah. Pretty good jjajangmyeon.

Yelp
Pretty solid place with a few things that I had issue with. But above all else it should be noted that we came in when they were 20mins from closing, and they still allowed us to sit, order before the kitchen closed, and then they rapid-fire served this food to us. Not more than 5mins after we ordered did the first dish come out, and then the food KEPT coming out like it was dimsum. It was exactly what we needed since my cousin had to eat and leave quickly before the parking garage closed. Food wise, nothing really stood out, but nothing was awful either. The seafood pancake was a standout-- super crispy and gave a look as if it were scallion pancake, but it was packed with seafood. It definitely lacked flavor on its own, though, and it was much better when we dipped it in the dumpling sauce. I also felt somewhat bamboozled because we got two orders of jjajangmyun to share between all of us, and the waiter recommended getting another order and to add extra noodles to each of them. We did that and ended up with way too much jjajangmyun. I also found it to be sweeter than I wanted it to be. Great place for a quick meal, but not sure if I'd be actively craving to come back.

Yelp
Ordered hot seafood soup & jaja noodles & fried dumplings Hot seafood soup is a little spicy, with lots of seafood including calm and shrimp. Jaja noodles were okay. We were in a hurry so ordered the fastest food they could make and serve. Fried dumplings were really good.

Yelp
The jjampong is good as usual. The broth is so good. Omurice I find bland, like everywhere else. The potato croquette is also bland. Service is better than next door.

Yelp
Ordered jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk for takeout and it hit the spot! I really like the savory-ness of the jjajangmyeon, but I wish the noodles were chewier. Prices are very reasonable and service was fast too.

Yelp
3 things about this place: 1. My sister and I seem to pass by this place, which I've been craving Korean-Chinese food for a while. This place was packed and seemed like a good idea to go try the food to see how the dishes were. They sat us down quickly and the danmuji (pickled radish) and kimchi came out before ordering. No raw onions with the black bean paste which I understand. 2. Half jjajangmyun (Black Bean Noodle) and half jjamppong (Spicy Seafood Soup), small Tangsuyook (Korean style Sweet and Sour Pork), Half Kkanpoonggi (Chicken with Spicy Pepper and Garlic Sauce) and Half Jjamppong, and Jjajangmyun (Black Bean Noodle) were ordered and came out at a reasonable time. 3. All the dishes tasted good and and fresh. Jjamppong had a lot of seafood inside along with clean aftertaste from the broth. Tangsuyook was still crispy after the sauce was poured. Other places would become soggy but this place still had the crisp and good amount of flavor. However, the service was terrible and forgot one of the dish that was ordered. Crowded place with 1 server taking orders and serving plates. Had to ask couple of times for items and they were still not delivered.. had to ask another person who seemed to be the owner of the restaurant. Overall, food was good but service was AWFUL. I don't think I'd come back due to lack of service and they just want people to come, eat, and go out quickly to get more customers.

Yelp
Pretty solid black bean noodles! Noodle texture is nice and chewy and prices are reasonable.

Yelp
went here and the entire staff was rushing us the entire time. we sat down for 5 minutes and were immediately asked what we wanted to eat. our waiter never checked in on us to see if we needed anything else such as a refill on the water. then when we received the check the staff kept watching over us waiting for their tip. we still had our drinks to finish. we then gave the tip which was below the suggested amount and the waiter confronted us about it asking for more??? when it said tip "suggestion", it's suggested to even give a tip. we ended up just giving her the 10% but the staff and ambiance is absolutely terrible and the food is subpar and expensive considering the portion you get.

Aileen P.

Yelp
I'm sorry but the food here is just not good Very empty for good reason but not the usual Korean Chinese flavors that should be coming out in jjajangmyeon and jjamppong
google avatar

Yelp
Haven't really found a great place for this type of food in the city but gave this place a try! it was tbh just ok - definitely fast and reasonably priced for nyc but the flavors fell short. The Jajamyun had chewy noodles and many pork pieces but the jjampong was pretty bland - the broth needed more flavoring and wasn't as savory as expected. Overall, service is friendly and fast but food falls a bit short.

Yelp
A month-long craving for jjajangmyeon after trying some sub-par jjajangmyeon at another place a month prior. We called in an order for pick up: jjajangmyeon and jjampong, priced alright. We really wanted to get some chicken kkanpunggi but it seemed way over-priced here, so we opted to pick up some fried chicken at BB-Q just a block away. We came in to pick up our food, and the ambiance was that of any typical older Asian restaurant, and the food was ready by the time that we got there. By the time that we got home (only a few blocks away), our food had fairly cooled (especially the jjajangmyeon) due to it being in the low 40°F's. The food was... ok. Maybe I'm judging harshly because we were in Korea 6 months prior and had both dishes at least 3 times during that stay. But the flavors at Hyo Dong Gak simply just did not compare. My craving was yet again, not satisfied. The jjampong was ordered extra spicy and extra seafood, and they certainly did deliver on that front with at least 3 different types of shrimp, but it did not astound in robust flavor. I'd give it a B. Jjajangmyeon was slightly sweet and meat chunks were varying in size from meat dust to stew chunks, but lacking in that fried black bean flavor, C-. They provided kimchi with our meal, but I would have been over the moon if they provided the onion and black bean side dish.

Yelp
My favorite jajangmyun (자장면) place in Manhattan. It's usually relatively empty and everything there is solid! I'd say definitely get the fried pork dumplings and the jajangmyun. The jjambbong is also really good! A regular go-to for me and my family.

Jane M.

Yelp
Great lunch menu with combo set. Opted for the spicy chicken and jjamppong(spicy noodle soup) and my friend had the bean bean noodle and jjamppong combo. Very filling hot and tasty. Perfect for winter weather

Yelp
Food honestly made my stomach hurt a little. The best dish was the Black bean noodles but could have used some spice or more seasoning. I had to ask for chili oil to add something to it Service was pretty good and the food came out quickly which was appreciated the korean fried chicken was very bready and soft which I didn't like was hoping for a crispy chicken. The veggie egg rolls had a great crisp on the outside but the veggies inside were very mushy Overall its fine if you're just looking for a last minute place to eat but know the food may not be worth the price.
google avatar

Hui L.

Yelp
Got the jajangmyeon and jjampong half and half lunch special as that seemed to be what most people were ordering. On other tables I mostly saw tangsuyuk, jajangmyeon and jjampong dishes. The jajangmyeon was super saucy (just the way I like it) and there were a few pork pieces too. The noodles were nicely cooked and the sauce grabbed onto the noodles well. I had asked for my jjampong to be just mild spicy and it was just that. There was a decent amount of seafood (mussels, shrimp, octopus) and the soup tasted pretty good. There was also a random assortment of veggies in soup. Service was pretty minimal, I think most people come to this place to just eat their food then leave. Overall, this is a good place in ktown to satisfy your cravings for Korean Chinese food.

Yelp
Came here to fulfill my cravings for jjajangmyun and they were fulfilled I especially love their 매운 간짜장 which is their spicy jjajangmyun (aka the Noodles with Spicy Brown Peking Sauce). I've heard that service is mediocre but I had a good experience... I think it helps to speak Korean to the waiters
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best sit-down jiajiamyeon places in the city that I know of. Price is reasonable and the sweet and sour beef is super crisp and delicious (be careful! The sauce is always extremely hot temperature-wise!) Great simple no-frills experience just a block away from the main part of K-Town :)

Frank S.

Yelp
Never order for delivery. You will get a food that you wont be able to eat. Poorly packaged. I think this is a dine-in restaurant only. Their jjamppong is still my favorite though

Yelp
Clearly authentic Chinese/Korean fare. Large Korean clientele. Staff are all Korean. Pretty long line for a Friday evening - but still, wait time was less than 30 minutes. Sit, and they bring you nice cold water and 2 cups. You can also ask for barley tea (it's called bo-ree cha in Korean) but I wouldn't recommend it. It was brewed bland and tased of tap water when I had it. The great thing about this place is that they cater to that mindset of 'I want to try everything.' They have the half and half jjampong and jjajangmyeon. Jjampong is on the spicy side and pretty flavorful. The seafood it comes with is not too high quality - frozen shrimp, that kind of stuff. But the noodles, soup and vegetables are great. It's a decent portion for a half order - could count as a light lunch. The Jjajangmyeon is a little sweet but not overly so - there's also an underlying flavor that I can't quite put my finger on it. It makes it a little interesting. The meat pieces are good quality and sized pretty well - about a square inch each. Noodles on both hold their texture well - but not that elevated level of chewy/bouncy that is usually sought after in these dishes. As an aside, the 3rd dish that usually comes with this fare is tansuyuk. It's fried pork pieces in a sweet sauce - they're to die for honestly. But typically if they're served in the sauce the sauce is just so thick that it ruins the crispiness of the pork pretty quickly. So many people do order the pork and the sauce separately. Strangely, the waitress told me that if I ordered a combo including the pork dish she wouldn't be able to serve the sauce separately because she'd have to get another bowl... but she did this same exact thing for the table next to us, just for the larger size portion. So if you get the combo you can't have the sauce separate but you can if you order the regular size. Even though in both cases you'd have to use another bowl. The logic doesn't quite make sense but they're quite within their rights to make up whatever rule they want. Sad that I couldn't try the tansuyuk - maybe later when I come with a bigger party.

Yelp
A Korean Chinese restaurant on 35th - near Korea Town in Manhattan. Not the usual place we frequent, but we were looking for one that can be "empty" (????) ...trying to avoid too many people ^^ And I must say, it turned out to be true. We were seated in the very far corner, and we did have great time, without being disturbed and nice & cool. 1) Fried shrimp in garlic pepper sauce - One of my favorite dish in a Korean Chinese restaurant. ($29.95). Tasty sauce which you can relish even later. 2) Sweet & sour beef (Small) ($19.95) - all time favorite that everyone orders. The fried dishes do get soggy after a while, so it may be a better idea to ask for the sauce on the side. 3) Noodle in brown sauce in a cast iron pot (for 2 people) ($24.95) Love love this noodle, but this was toooooo salty and strong taste. Later, you might want to add some rice to go with it. 4) Noodle in spicy seafood soup - ($14.95) another typical noodle along with the brown sauce one. The fact that the restaurant was not too full (especially during this pandemic period for a large gathering), we enjoyed it quite a lot. But, even after we were done around 9 pm on a Thursday evening, it still was quite empty. Nice & quiet for us.

Yelp
Hyo Dong Gak used to be a destination location for Korean-Chinese food in the early 2000s. My family, friends, and I would go even though there were so many other establishments in Flushing or Bergen County. Unfortunately, the food has dipped in quality in the last decade, especially after they expanded their menu to include other Asian cuisines. They should have continued to specialize in their cuisine instead of branching out. Sadly, this really is the best option for this type of food in Manhattan.

Yelp
I've been here twice with my Korean friend who introduced me to Korean Chinese food. The first time I tried this, I didn't like it as much as I really wanted Korean food at the time and was thrown off by the Chinese aspect of the meal. I found myself craving both Chinese and Korean food so we came here again almost one year later. This time, I wasn't surprised! We got the same two noodle dishes. I looked around the restaurant and every table also ordered these two dishes. The Jia jiang mein and the spicy seafood noodle soup. They both hit the spot. Last time we had the fried chicken. This time we tried the sweet and sour beef with the sauce on the side! The beef was fried to the perfect level of crispiness! I'm happy to know that I can come here again when I'm craving Korean Chinese food!

Yelp
Note: Should have updated a while back. Anyway, with the other Korean Chinese place that I used to frequent going to closing, I have been here a few more times. Special note to their baijiu which has a strong Chinese alcohol. For some reason they serve a rather large portion in a sake container for 10$. In other words you're getting a sake size portion/5/6 shots of an alcohol which is 38% ABV or something similar which is a rather good deal that could be split. I don't remember the exact baiju but judging by the flavor profile, I assumed it was a strong aroma. Anyway super strong alcohol aside, I had a combination of Tangsuyuk and Jajangmyeon/. The former is sweet and sour beef or pork in some places and it was quite tasty. The latter is black bean sauce noodles. While I prefer the latter at some other places (in my opinion the sauce here isn't thick enough and I prefer the noodle texture some other places,) it is still tasty and worth it for price. Mid 3 rounded up.

Yelp
The jjam-jja-myun is very good. Their service is good. But, their paper cups in the sitdown resraurant are unacceptable. They should serve water with glass cups.

Vincy L.

Yelp
Nothing wrong about their restaurant, ordered the black bean paste pasta, the food is fine and standard, but the pork cubes in it tastes just weird. (I guess I just don't like Korean food, accidentally have seen some videos talking about Korean street food and decided to give it another try. But nope. Somehow Korean food just makes me feel sick afterwards. I pretty sure one of the reasons is that the ingredients don't need to be fresh to make the food work, and this restaurant falls in the category with no surprise - their meat is not fresh)

Yelp
Decided to check this place out based on friend's recommendation! There are limited places in Manhattan that sells Korean style Chinese food, so I was definitely excited to check this place out when my friend mentioned it. It is located few blocks away from Koreatown (~7min), making it a good food option that anyone can consider when they are nearby. I decided to try sam sun gan jja jang (seafood with black bean sauce) and shared tang sooyuk (fried pork with sweet/sour sauce). Both were good, but the jja jang sauce needs a little more flavor to my taste. Otherwise, I enjoyed it. Consider checking out this place when you are nearby!

Yelp
the restaurant was kind of confusing in the way it was advertised; Korean characters but it would have "Chinese restaurant" on the labels as well. I'm assuming it was more so a type of Asian fusion restaurant rather than Korean or Chinese. For new customers, it can be misleading especially if they were to be craving Korean or Chinese food. I got the beef brisket noodle soup (I believe it was N14) on the menu. It said it was going to be spicy but it was mainly the soup that was spicy. the beef was quite chewy, and the noodles were bland separately. there wasn't a lot of beef even though I waited a long time for my food to come. I'm not sure if I would be back again; because I didn't get a good impression. The atmosphere was nice but the food didn't live up to par.

Yelp
Food was great! Seafood noodle soup and sweet /sour fried pork were good portion and good. Japchae with rice was very satisfying. Server was not attentive and was agitated since not enough ppl were working there. Still good experience, will come back for more .

Yelp
If y'all are into uncomfortable rudeness and frozen fried rice that has pork and they don't let ya know this is for you. I asked for more broccoli ( the small ones they bring you as appetizers) before we left and he kept huffing and puffing and laughing at my dang question as if I was asking for free food. Everyone mellow mellow out !! sing along with me and have a better attitude in the workplace . Not coming back Come on man come on !!!!!!

Yelp
One of the cheapest prices you can find with great food quality and generous size. This may not be as popular as neighbor Cho Dang Gol but the food is similarly great and you don't have to wait in line

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! It was some delicious Korean-Chinese food and the flavors were deep and made quite right. This place had adequate service, but I don't think they're trying to make it a top tier place- its more of a place to just eat and leave with a full stomach

Yelp
We are originally from LA, currently residing in Seoul and came to NYC for my daughter's graduation. She wanted jjajangmyun for her official graduation meal and the reviews were grim everywhere. I checked Korean platforms to see where ethnic Korean people went to get jjajangmyun in the city and this spot was the recommendation. Immediately, we were greeted by a friendly ahjumma and everyone who came by to take care of us were so friendly. I was thrilled to find vegan options including jjajangmyun for myself while the rest of my fam enjoyed their normal menu items. I'll be honest, it was not the most incredible Korean style Chinese food we have ever had but everything tasted like it was supposed to and the ingredients were all fresh. We will absolutely return every time we need to get our jjajangmyun fix! Good overall experience!!

Yelp
I like the idea of Chinese & Korean fusion. Their noodle combo (brown bean sauce & spicy seafood soup noodles) was pretty good. I would say this is a nice casual lunch spot when you crave a good home style Asian food. Their outdoor seatings are individual booths so it's nice to have a private dining experience.

Yelp
Review is for the jjajangmyeon and jjamppong combo - which seems to be the most popular here. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and was promptly seated. No lunch special on weekends but for the half & half combo it was only $15. My friend got a bowl of jjajangmyeon and it was only $10 or $11. Noodles were chewy and there was tons of squid/shrimps in the jjamppong. Broth was surprisingly good w/ a super nice seafood flavor - it's definitely been simmering for a long time. For value you can't beat it & the place is really clean with a homey vibe. (Side note I think how clean a restaurant keeps their bathroom says a lot about the place as a whole and I was surprised by how pristine the restroom was) A combo, a jjajangmyeon, and a shrimp fried rice (which comes with a side of kimchi soup) came out to $46 after tax. Would definitely come again!

Yelp
I dub this place as "the Ktown go-to where I don't want to roll out $40+ for a meal". Very funny name right? New Yorkers tend to forget Korean cuisine is more than just barbecue. I wanted noodles, soup dishes and rice dishes. And voila. My friends and I wanted a simple restaurant spot in Koreatown so we wandered over to 35th street away from the congested 32nd Street touristy area. This restaurant accomplished what I thought was impossible. It was able to fit in a group of 10 in a late afternoon that just walked in. The first thing that caught our eyes on the menu was "Noodles with Brown Sauce". We all looked at each other and wondered, what was brown sauce? Coincidentally it was the Jjajamyung noodle dish (the popular noodles dish mixed with black bean sauce). That was my favorite dish of all from this place. I don't have the comforts of tasting the Queens quality Korean cuisine and this was closest and best I got to getting authentic Korean cuisine in NYC. Mission accomplished. The soondubu (tofu clay pot soup) was standard with its seafood filling. Same goes for the bibimbap. But something about the black bean sauce (or brown sauce as the restaurant calls it) was so zesty, flavorful and fun to eat. It was so good I did not mind eating it like a messy kid who is not afraid to stain her teeth and lips with the sauce. Delicious and left my bowl void of anything besides the leftover sauce stains.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends for Jajangmyun (a tradition for singles to eat on Valentine's Day) It was really delicious and the waitress was really nice too. She came by to check in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. We also enjoyed our meal with "so-mec" (soju and beer), which was good too. A couple people in the group ordered the combo - jajangmyun and jjampong (spicy seafood). They said they really liked the combo option and would recommend. Overall I enjoyed my experience here and would definitely come back

Yelp
There's not a lot to review here. It's basic Chinese food-ish. I was a bit miffed that there were no options for steamed dishes like chicken or broccoli. Everything was stir fried or fried fried, which I didn't prefer. I finally found one dish that would work, and I wanted the sauce on the side, which was an option. But our waitress didn't agree with it being served that way, even though she suggested it. And she pretty much bullied me into agreeing. It was tasty. But it wasn't how I wanted. Jayson had the dumplings, which cane out almost burnt and fried. They were over cooked. The shumai was good. Was it worth the time and money, no. A completely wasted meal.
