Wednesday night is Hush Club, hosted by Don Bolles on the decks and Nora Keyes serving drink. Local and touring eclectic musical acts perform on the stage.

I saw Erleen Nada play here, one of the best underground singers around! The sound was great and the drinks are cheap. Karen Centerfold always stands at the door and she's really nice and welcoming, this place is like hanging out at your best friend' best friend's basement, sick DJs all the time too!

It's like the coolest study hall room you could find, but with a bar instead of a desk. And a little stage. And cash-only beers. Small space, no sign outside (look for the barbershop pole) but luckily usually street parking close by. Bartenders seem to have gotten friendlier, definite plus.

Kris Zaycher keeps things really sexy, but Alex is where the money is at. Make sure to ask for the "Baby Javier Special" only on Thursday nights. Frankly... only go on Thursday nights. If Ken is there, ignore him as he's notorious for passing gas.

Got here via my BFF As we approached, the combined sounds of harp & voice met us at yon olden door, bade that we sit & enjoy Miss Naomi Green's performance. Followed by weird animation. (...if flesh-eating bacteria had a face) with a maraca-shaking, 30-something gogo dancer in a gold lame mini. Followed by two Gallic-faced ladies (accordion & vocal) credibly interpreting Edith Piaf with chanson ebullience. In the break, the singer mentioned Piaf's name. At which a voice in front proclaimed he had known her brother...Rice Piaf.

Cramped space - takes only cash. This is L.A., come on! Not everyone has cash on them so I found that inconvenient and obnoxious. Even if there was an ATM, I couldn't see it cause it was so dark. I fell down (totally sober) that's how cramped and dark it was. Skip this place. Odd clientelle.

Fun venue for small acts, but a little tight for the bands I saw there. Made for an intimate setting with a great atmosphere. Loved it!

Dive bar. Raggity crowd, some hipsters. Tiny, live music on a cramped stage. Don spinning disks on Thursdays
