Such a fun, vibey happy hour spot! They’ve got both indoor and outdoor patio seating, a live DJ, and really great service. The vibe feels intimate but lively. I ordered the brussels sprouts (they were amazing, totally allergy-friendly, and packed with flavor) and a bottle of Prosecco for happy hour. Honestly incredible prices for LA. Loved the staff, loved the energy, loved the night. 🥂 I’ll def be back!

Came here Tuesday on a date and had a great evening! Tasty drinks and excellent fast service. David the manager came over and introduced himself and was very kind and welcoming. So happy to have a new watering hole in the neighborhood, can't wait to come back!

As a frequent former customer of The Friend, I'm so pleased the space has been reimagined as Hyperion Social. I enjoyed a lovely happy hour (which is hard to come by these days), and had the pleasure of chatting with the new proprietors. I'm looking forward to the dj nights they have planned, and seeing how the bar adds to Hyperion Ave ✨️

Great place to hang if you like drinking in a place that takes its design cues from Nordstrom Rack. Such a missed opportunity. Staff was nice.

Happy to see something new open up in the old Friend space. Ambiance is great (so glad they pulled back the curtains), great bar staff, and delicious cocktails! With all the turnover/closures on Hyperion, fingers crossed that this one thrives.

Came here on a Friday night kind of early like around 9ish and it wasn't very busy. With that said you'd think the service would be on point. Nope. Tried to flag a bartender down to ask if we had to order at the bar ourselves or if they had table service. The tall bartender there ignored us; he wasn't even helping anyone and the music was not loud enough to blame on. We sat at a table and then tried again a few minutes later to which he responded that we could order from our table and someone would be sent shortly. Their menu looked decent enough but as tequila drinkers their tequila based house cocktails were minimal. They do have an open bar so you can get whatever you'd like. I just like trying specialty drinks. Our waitress/bartender was friendly and pretty attentive. Pet peeve of mine though is getting my drink and having the contents sloshed over the rim on its way to me so not the glass is sticky all over and making the table sticky too. We had to get up to get our own napkins but it is what it is I guess. The drink was decent, we ordered traditional margaritas and you can tell they use the artificial sweet and sour mix. Enough tequila in it though at least lol they had a DJ there that night playing house music which was enjoyable.

Really enjoyed the jazz music on Wednesday night. I believe it's every other Wednesday. Really cool new bar with a great ambiance.Tried a new drink called Long Drink (in a can)and loved it!

This is the most exciting recent bar opening in town! Dave and his team really put together a wonderful experience for any time of day/night. The space is beautifully designed and dog-friendly. The wine program is particularly excellent, along with their Wednesday Jazz Night - can't wait to return!

So today when I was actually walking to a different restaurant for dinner, I was thinking that the Hyperion/Griffith Park area really needed some nice new sit down eateries. And, voila! Hyperion Social just appeared as I was passing by. It's in the old "The Friend" space next to Mi Corazon Restaurant, and has a really classy, but casual atmosphere. Isabel, the hostess/bartender greeted me at the door and invited me in to check out the place, and I liked the vibe so I decided to stay. I sat at the bar and ordered the yummy tacos and the chips and guac. Right now because of health issues I'm temporarily restricted from alcohol, but Isabel had a nice non alcoholic beer for me that was perfect. I met David the owner, really cool guy, and I had a lovely conversation with one of their friends at the bar. I felt very welcome and comfortable and it was very serendipitous that I found it. I'm looking forward to coming back during the week and taking advantage of their happy hour. And I'll be bringing some friends with me. I highly recommend this place Welcome to our Neighborhood, Hyperion Social!

Randomly found this bar on Yelp and so glad we did. My boyfriend and I came in for a few drinks. David the owner was very hospitable and friendly. Overall great atmosphere and vibes. Definitely come in for some good drinks.

Recently discovered this place on Saturday night. Walked in and was impressed right away with the setting and vibes. The bartenders were really friendly and made great drinks. A DJ set up around 10:00pm and despite having other plans originally, I stayed for the night. So much fun. Would highly recommend Hyperion Social to anyone in the neighborhood and beyond.

So excited to have Hyperion Social in the neighborhood! Super friendly service, delicious food and cocktails. The vibe is really cute and they even have black and white movies projected on the wall!

Happy to welcome a new (as of summer 2025) bar to the under-served Hyperion strip. Located where "The Friend" used to be, they have reorganized the interior, and feature a 4-7pm happy hour with $5 beers and discounted eats. They are dog friendly and extremely kind to my dog when I visit. I am definitely a regular here. Thank you Isabel, Kaia, the rest of the crew and a very special shout out to the amazing Gabe!

LOVE this Vibe!!!! Old School Hidden Los Angeles!!! It's definitely an artist/cool hipster (not the jerks) scene. Anna and Gabriel are the best, and good looking too! Don't tell the nerds...

What a beautiful place with a friendly, vibrant, cute staff! Love Dave and Gabe! Great spicy margarita and beautiful espresso martini and they will make you whatever you want! Food includes a great burger and blueberry chicken wings! I enjoyed the Caesar salad -add the chicken! Best marinade on a chicken I've had in ages. A great place to hang out. A neighborhood bar and a place to come to from near and far. Nice mx of music playing as well. Support local business! So glad they have modernized and opened up the space that was formerly the pink -ugh - The Friend.
