The Best Student-Priced Food Near Concordia University | Eater Montreal

"This simple spot brings large, reasonably-priced, and really good bowls of Vietnamese pho to the downtown masses (the spicy bun bo hu is a fan favourite). Enjoy your meal with a beer or with one of a tasty Vietnamese iced coffee." - Holly Tousignant

The beef pho here is absolutely delicious, especially when you add chili flakes and extra rare beef slices. The broth is rich and flavorful, making it a comforting and satisfying meal. However, the consistency can be a hit or miss—sometimes it’s perfectly balanced, while other times it leans too salty or too bland. On the bright side, the fresh spring rolls are some of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh, light, and packed with flavor, they’re a must-try. Service-wise, most of the staff are very friendly and accommodating, which is great. However, the male cashier (the one who looks like he’s balding) really needs an attitude check. He’s impatient and serves with an energy that makes it seem like he hates his job. We’re paying for both the food and the service, so the least he can do is treat customers with a bit more respect.

My goto place is closed on Mondays so I decided to give it a try. I had the large special pho. Not sure if because the broth doesn’t have strong flavor, the tendons and tripes had some smell which make one wonder if they are fresh. If you don’t order the pho with those ingredents you should be fine.

Disappointed and done We’ve been loyal customers for years, but this was the last time. They keep shrinking the protein portions, and today was just insulting. We paid full price and got only two tiny pieces of chicken. When we brought it up, they gave lame excuses, first blaming our noodle-to-rice swap, then saying the chicken was small. We made the effort to go back to the restaurant, and all they did was add one extra piece — as if that made up for wasting our time, gas, and patience. No compensation. And yes, we still tipped. Protein is the main value in the dish — stop charging full price for scraps. You’ve officially lost long-time customers.

I Am Pho in Brossard has become my go-to spot, especially during the cold winter months or when I’m feeling under the weather. Their bun bo hue is perfect for clearing my sinuses with its spicy, flavorful broth, while the pho duc viet offers the same comfort without the heat. My kids love the chicken rice dish, which is always a hit. What really stands out is their takeout packaging — so organized and presentable, a pleasant contrast to how takeout is often packed in the U.S. It makes enjoying the meal at home just as satisfying. The service is quick, and there’s plenty of parking, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Google
The food was absolutely amazing! We had the #7 and #17 (apologies, don’t remember the names!) and 2 imperial rolls. The food was delicious, hot, and fresh. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Can’t wait to come back!

Delicious and affordable vietnamese food. Their pho and bun bo hue are quite good and their drinks and che ba mau as well. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. There’s parking outside.

Google
I was looking for an authenthic Bún bò hǔe, tried my luck dropped in to this place “I am Pho Brossard. “It turned out to be the most original delicious bowl of noodle I had ever eaten in Montreal!! Will definitely going to be my regular visit place.

Google
Have gone here multiple times, and I love it every time. Always quick service, and delicious food. The grilled chicken pho is so tasty, the imperial rolls are always nice and crispy and fresh. The grilled chicken and rice plate is so flavorful and cooked perfectly. I always leave with one of their fantastic iced coffees. The service has always been friendly and always served quickly. Small place with not too many seats. Even if there is a line up, it usually moves quickly. I will continue to go to place for a long time. Can't wait to go back :) * In the soup picture, I had already eaten quite a few chicken pieces ! (Just noticed it looks a little plain but I promise it is not!)

Yelp
I came from Toronto to try I Am Pho. They did not disappoint. Fresh food. Best pho ever! Well worth the drive! Casual and inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff. Plenty of free parking.

Yelp
My husband and I went to I Am Pho for the first time today. The restaurant is nice and bright with lots of windows. We were met by the server as soon as we walked in the door and were seated with menus. She brought over 2 glasses of water right away. We were surprised that we weren't offered an option of tea or water. We both ordered the pho with a beef rib. The food came very quickly. The beef rib was quite tender but with lots of connective tissue (which we enjoy). The broth was pretty good, but definitely nowhere near as good as many other Vietnamese restaurants we've been to. The serving size of both noodles and protein were very generous, but it's quite an expensive dish so that wasn't surprising. The washroom was unisex and was clean and tidy. We would return to try other dishes the next time we're visiting Montréal.

Yelp
I went here to meet someone for lunch when I was in the Brossard area. I've never been here before but I did like pho (or liquid type soups in general) and my friend suggested it since I've only eaten at a few places in Brossard. The place is located in a parking mall. One the day and time that I showed up, parking was a bit scarce close to the restaurant but there was parking available which wasn't reserved for certain businesses further away so I parked there. Met my friend for lunch and I ordered one of the large pho soups which was ~$13+tax+tip if I remember correctly (or might have been $14+tax+tip). I really liked it but it wasn't the best pho that I've had in the Montreal area. The best pho that I've had in the Montreal area is at a small Vietnamese pho restaurant across the street from the Jewish General hospital which is cash only. This place accepts credit cards which in my opinion is a big positive. The restaurant wasn't crowded/full when we showed up and we weren't rushed while we had our pho soups. My pho was pretty good and service was also very fast. The staff were also friendly. If I'm in the area and feel like having some pho, I don't have any issues returning to this place.

Yelp
So far the best Vietnamese cuisine I could eat! the soupe is big and worth the price! I prefere the shrimp soup or the beef soup! Imperial rolls are delicious! The beef is exquisite!!! The porc chop plate...you must try at least once!!!!!! There's too much to say!!! It's just a must go restaurant Enjoy! :)

Yelp
This is another great pho restaurant to enjoy during a cold winter day. The large soup comes in a generous portion with plenty of noddles, beefs and tendons. The delicious broth will make you crave for more.

Yelp
First time I'm tasting this place, actually first time I'm hearing about this place at all! Surprisingly it's very similar to MC pho. The reason I actually went there was because MC pho was closed. I am very happy I did. We ordered for beef pho,One plate of pork chops and the grilled chicken. The beef pho was good it was missing some veggies but overall tasted similar to MC PHO! The grilled chicken (Bún chả giò gà nớng), came with vermicelli, salad and an egg roll. The portions are huge! Very flavourful and filling, definitely worth the 12.18$ The porc chops Cơm sườn nướng were HUGEEEE! It came with rice and a salad and it It was flavourful. Well worth the 11.95$ price. My only negative comment would be the hoisin sauce they provide is premixed with hot sauce. Which they shouldn't do considering some people don like hot sauce or vice versa some just want hoisin sauce without the hot sauce.

Yelp
This was our first time eating at a Vietnamese restaurant since the lockdown. We have been wanting to try this place out since last year and we should have went sooner. My husband and I shared the imperial rolls and each ordered a boll of phở. I got the Đặc biệt (all-dressed) and he got the rare beef with meatballs. They have two sizes: M and L. Ours were the medium size and it was very filling. Everything was on point. Delicious, tasty and well put together. The portions are generous and the price is very good. The rolls are thus far the best we've had in a very long time. Perhaps the best ever IMO! I love phở đặc biệt but most of the times in other restaurants, you would get little bits of tendons and tripe. Here, I got chunks of tendons! It was oh so lovely! I can't wait to come back to try other items on their menu!

Yelp
They're a bit stingy with the soup & basil but their takeout packaging is 10/10. I would say value for money isn't here, it's across the street at Pho MC, but they aren't open Mondays and Tuesdays, so here we are. Decent soup, not salty, flavourful, and everything was fine. Just not enough of it.

Yelp
This place recently opened in Brossard offer great pho! One of the most important components of a Pho is their soup based; this one is tasty not too sweet and it's also boiling hot when I got mine so it hit right on the spot! It also comes with fresh and nicely cut meat, you can't go wrong with all these combinations! I also ordered my usual side, imperial rolls. They used rice paper for their deep fried imperial rolls, the one they use for the fresh shrimp rolls. Because of the roll paper is different, it added a special crunch to it. A must try!

Yelp
Large bowls of pho tai and bun bo hue for good price compared to other places where prices have increased during pandemic (13$). Place is not too big but not overcrowded.

Yelp
Love love love this spot for pho. I like the fact all the ingredients are packed separately during delivery. The dry vs the wet vs. veggies (includes sprouts, mint and lime). I am a fan of the well done beef tonkinese soup. The apps are good as well: so far I have tried the chicken brochettes & spring rolls, of the two I preferred the chicken brochettes. If you use Uber eats - they have a promotion where you get a free soup with 8-10 purchases I believe. Worth checking by out!

Yelp
Small cafe doing a brisk take out business. They have a few tables for dining in. We chose to dine in as we had been walking all day. My wife had the #19 (pork chop with vermicelli) and I had the #16 (chicken with vermicelli). We first had the fresh spring rolls. The spring rolls were very fresh but just average for flavor. Our entree's were both hot and fairly quick despite the other diners and steady stream of take out orders. My chicken was very tasty, moist and tender. The vermicelli was also very fresh. I prefer this dish to have many more vegetables but it was still quite good. My wife's pork chops we also quite good. My dish came with a single egg roll which I think was the best I have ever had. Not a big deal but very good. The ambience could have used a little polish. It was near sunset so the light was glaring off every small smudge on their glass store front. And since it was near the end of the day it is expected that their place might look a little less than pristine. The staff of 3 were very busy so they had no extra time on their hands. I only mention it become some are fussy about that sort of thing. Still, the quality of the food and the service earns them an easy 4 stars.

Yelp
The menu is similar to the one downtown. The bun bo hue's broth was very flavorful and comforting. It had a lot of beef inside. The imperial rolls were tasty but a bit too oily. The dessert was also nice. Only waited 15 min for takeout. There are plenty of parking outside.

Yelp
Indoor seating space is small, but we ordered take out through door dash. The portions are HUGE for the price. They do not skip on rice or meat. We ordered the pork chop which comes with a heaping of rice and two porkchops; the grilled chicken comes with three pieces of meat. I'm glad they had a side pho, perfect size for my son. The pho was very well balanced and delicious, did not need any additional condiments. We also ordered the bun no hue, which was spicy and perfectly seasoned as well! The pork feet was so tender and delicious We'd def love to come back again.

Yelp
This is our first time trying out some Pho at this location and I was surprisingly pleased!! We had the beef pho and it came pretty large! Lots of meat and the broth was amazing! Price was very reasonable! I highly

Yelp
A solid pho experience. Staff was friendly, prompt and courteous. Pho was tasty. Parking was a bit of a challenge but it was a Saturday night. Three stars because there are so many good pho choices, tough to differentiate. I would certainly go back to this one.

Yelp
The broth was so blend and the meat are not the best quality. This place sound like a fast food and make it too easy while real vietamese know you have to take tour time to do a good broth for a decent Pho.

Melissa A.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best pho in town. A nice clean and tasty broth packed with a generous portion of meat as well! The staff was super friendly too. I 10/10 recommend this place to anyone!
