"Housed in a palazzo full of history – the building was a synagogue before the 1693 earthquake and has retained its ritual bath in its charming room of mirrors – this restaurant bears the imprint of renowned chef Ciccio Sultano, holder of two Michelin stars at the nearby Duomo restaurant. The cuisine is eclectic yet with a Sicilian focus, plus the wine list is complemented by a choice of interesting cocktails." - Michelin Inspector

Had lunch at this restaurant which staff provides excellent service. This restaurant is located in the back streets away from the tourist crowds. It is worth the walk. The restaurant is decorated with large modern paintings and other nice decorations. We have ordered their salads, which were nice fresh and of a sizeable portion.

Truly spectacular food, I’m surprised it’s not rated higher. It was the best we have had in our week long trip to Sicily. The lasagna in particular was incredibly delicious. Food service is slow by design, so plan to stay for a few hours but I found that is the norm here in Italy and it allows you to really take in the moment. No complaints there.

We had a delicious dinner at I Banchi. It is more expensive than the average restaurant however it’s completely worth it if you want to “treat” yourself one night. That being said the prices are not at all exaggerated for the quality. Everything was very tasty and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The tuna also melted in your mouth. Also very nice staff. Highly recommend!

The owner’s lovely energy is evident in every aspect of the experience, food, service and space. The breeze is lovely at the top of the hillside to sit outside in summer which we often do.

had lunch here alone, they treated me very well. I sat on the delightful patio under a shade awning in October, the weather was magnificent. Had a hearty salad of Sicilian greens with Tuna. So refreshing and filling, they served that with house made bread and olive oil. Can't beat that.

Food - great presentation, and delivered on local, Sicilan and modern Service on the other hand was to something to be desired. I started by asking for some kind of menu - in which I was refused. I had to ask if We should leave. Wine - excellent, except if when you run and beg for it Charming place! Glad we stoped, but would have loved a smile and someone who cared about what they were serving.

Great location in old stable! Very good and genuine food. You can decide either for fix price menu (the cheapest is at lunch, around 30€ - drinks aside), or from the multiple choice of courses. They also have different products you can by directly from the restaurant (cheese, breads, pastries, etc..) it's a must either if you are looking for a romantic place, or just to buy local products. Not to forget that it has been opened in collaboration with a 2 stars Michelin Chef, Mr. Sultano.

Yelp
I was staying in Piazza Duomo and wanted something simple and easy for dinner. I Banchi was a few minutes away - it was recommend by Il Duomo staff the prior day. Il Banchi is own by chef Ciccio Sultano. Casual environ with inside and outside seating. Menu provides a wide selection of meal options from light to full meal. I Banchi offers a tasting menu is similar to Il Duomo's. Overall, staff is friendly and attentive. Open Tuesdays!! Closes at 10:30 p.m.

Yelp
If you are in Ragusa around lunch time you should not miss out of this restaurant. We were two couples and all ordered the lunch tasting menu that consisted of 5 delicious dishes. The staff was extremely friendly, the food a Michelin star worthy and the prices very reasonable. A must visit when in Ragusa again. Truely recommed this place for lunch!

Yelp
Heard about this place prior to arriving in Ragusa, reserved ahead of time in anticipation of the reputation - terrible experience. Went to so many Sicilian restaurants with no complaints until this one. The cocktail and antipasti took forever to come out. The second plate - a pork cut was cooked to the toughness of a rock. When we politely complained they shut down and offered no apologies, insisting the dish was correct. No person who enjoys meat could have approved of that dish. Anyplace would have been better. Avoid. And this was a slow night.

Yelp
The experience is a hit or missed. Sunday evening the two of us went to this place around 10 minutes before 9 pm. The guy with a suit greeted us and being friendly, he gave a sign to one of the waiters to sit us rather than he sits us himself. So the waiter brought us to this quite nicely designed space with rustic vaulted ceiling, white walls and minimalist table and chairs . He gave us a few tables to choose for where we wanted to sit, which is nice compared to when they just put you next to occupied table while other tables are empty. Anyway, he offered some water to start with, at this point we did not have the menu yet. 10 minutes goes by... still no menu yet. We realized they were having a big party prior and some numbers of tables were occupied in one of the rooms, the same waiter was running around to set up the tables. 15 minutes later he came back with the menu and left us at least close to 40 minutes since we sat down, we almost decided to get up, pay the water and leave until the same first guy with a suit came and took our order. We got our bottle of wine which is good but rather high in price compares to other restaurants around. Next, they served us a basket of bread and a mouse bouche of warm onion soup foam with a couple slices of herrings and slice of orange, which was light and delicious. At this point we sort of forget what happened prior. We ordered the first course of grilled mixed vegetables baked inside a small ramekin with some cheese on top, served with sides of caramelized onion and fruit compote. It was delicious and good portion, even enough to share. The second course came, it was black pasta with calamari and other seafood pieces also pasta with tomatoes sauce and mushrooms. Both were delicious, have the right amount of al dente and portions. So after the second course we were rather satisfied for the quality of the food minus the service because no one came to check if the food was alright or pour the wine and nor the water either, we basically just served ourselves. We are usually pretty easy going customers and don't thing it's really a big deal but since they want to be more upscale type of restaurant, I think every single little service counts. Long story short, the same waiter came and asked if we are ready to order for dessert, while we were still waiting for our last course which was a mixed BBQ meats (lamb, pork, rib, chicken wing) with roasted potatoes that came inside aluminum pot, which I thought quite unique and practical in terms of keeping the heat temperature of the meat last longer, especially during winter season. Each piece was quite tender and juicy, the portion was rather generous too. However it was a bit under seasoned, which we decided to ask for some salt and pepper then it was just perfect. Last, we skipped the dessert since by this time we just had over 2 hours of dinner (left around 11:15 pm) and we had enough food to eat. Overall the food is good, a bit pricey but still affordable. My suggestion is they need to reorganize about their service and efficiency. For Sunday evening when most restaurants are closed during the month of February, it's a good option to go to.
