I Carracci

Exceptional experience through and through. The atmosphere sets the tone with the beautiful ceilings by the Carracci brothers. The service was exceptional, on point, knowledgeable, with excellent pace. Andrea and Gianluca took excellent care of us. The food courses were an exceptional variety of choices with a more contemporary and qualitative approach yet keeping true to the world renowned Bolognese cuisine. It was the birthday of my wife and I appreciated all the wonderful attention and care. So,so happy we are only 1 hour 10 minutes away!

We had a very delightful experience dining here, our waiter Andrea was very informative and personable and took great care of us. We decided to go Al la carte, and I had an amazing Eel risotto and grilled pigeon. The ambiance here is the also spectacular, with a marvelous Frescoes painting on the ceiling while you eat. Alongside fun and delicious chefs welcome and goodbyes, we had a great time eating here.

We ate lunch here on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was very quiet with only three tables occupied but I suspect the outstanding service would be as good even if it was full. Extremely professional and knowledgable staff but not in the least stuffy. Food was excellent, wine list was excellent. Cocktails were excellent, might be the best negroni I’ve ever had and given we are in Italy that’s saying something. This is a classic old style restaurant, white linen tablecloths, impeccable glassware and service, and yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for in terms of the quality of food and service. My fish was cooked to perfection as was my pasta and all of my dining companions were similarly impressed. Special occasion restaurant but worth every penny. Highly recommended. Bravo

We ectually felt uncomfortable here. As we arrived, the receptionist took our coats. We really dressed ourselves for this dinner, as we were celebrating our anniversary. But the maître never even mentioned anything? Except for a younger servant, he did mentioned it. And he was the only one who talked to us. The room is very grand and the ceiling has a beautiful painting. The tables look very sharp, everything is in the right order. The Maître was very stiff and for us not a fun person to have at our table. The service was very fast. We choose the menu of €120. And had a bottle of red wine from Tuscani; Le Volte. This wine was suggested by the Maître, which was actually a very good choice. Along the dinner there were 2 other tables and another couple came during our dinner. For us it was unbelievable. Because the young man took his sweater of and was sitting there in a T-shirt!? What was going on? We were al dressed up for a high standart restaurant and here they accepteren someone to sit in his underwear? (What is the dresscode here?) If that wasnt enough, the young couple turned their Mobile Phone on. So we could hear some loud noises from their Phone. Nobody from the restaurant staff said anything!? It makes us mad to say this. But we decided to finish our meal and leave the restaurant as soon as possible. Sorry to say this, but something wasnt right and its a shame. Because everything looks so well managed but wasnt at the end.

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and thought “wow” the whole time? This is how you will feel if you come here. It was an absolute fantastic culinary experience… every detail, taste is felt. The service was incredible and on top of it, the restaurant design and ceiling is like a museum in itself. Do yourself a favour and come here while in Bologna, it will be a highlight in your journey!

Perfect old world dining. An excellent place to try the local delights, as they were meant to be eaten. The location itself is beautifully maintained with a fabulous dining room. as you descend the staircase ruins still stand within the building. It was magical. The restaurant felt like good value for the quality.

This is a really amazing place for many reasons. .The ceiling is spectacular and the service is incredible. The food is of bologna and it's region and is lovely. We totally enjoyed our time here. It felt very special. Thanks for the amazing service. We had the tasting menu. It's alot of food but delicious.

We very much enjoyed our experience. It was our anniversary so we chose to have a more elevated experience than the rest of our vacation. They treat you very well here and provide impeccable service. The setting is also beautiful with the frescoed ceiling. My only complaint was when I asked for a recommendation for wine and she chose one of the more expensive bottles. Given that this was the end of our trip, I knew the price/value of wine and in Italy and wasn’t willing to spend 5 times more than I had elsewhere. The value for the meal is very reasonable. It’s a fine dining experience with a good portion of food, well-paced, and with very good service.
