"This Allston spot (which recently replaced a different restaurant also known for its hand-pulled noodles) on Brighton Avenue offers a variety of dumplings, noodle soups, and cumin lamb biang biang noodles. Lanzhou Fresh Noodles is open for takeout." - Terrence Doyle

"Chinese chain Xi’an Street Foods closed its Allston shop quietly at some point in recent weeks; it’ll be replaced by a different hand-pulled noodles shop called IFresh Noodle." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

"Xi’an Street Foods was a Chinese street food chain known for its soup and 'Chinese burgers' called rougamo. The Allston location has closed, and it was the first and seemingly only American location of the chain. The menu offered a variety of skewers and noodle dishes, including hand-pulled biang biang noodles and rougamo." - Terrence Doyle

"Gene’s Chinese Flatbread Cafe (86 Bedford St., Boston) — a mainstay on Eater Boston’s map of 38 essential restaurants — is perhaps the best known, but there’s also a year-old spot in Allston, Xi’an Street Foods (182 Brighton Ave., Boston), that is part of a China-based chain." - Dana Hatic

Been here twice, first time was excellent, very chewy nice texture noodles with unique flavors. Second time noodle was sad and soggy. The cold noodle has thick sesame oil (some people really like it, but I prefer peanut sauce style). The cold chili chicken was really good both time we visited. I recommend beef soup noodle without chili oil for nice, cleansing soup. I also recommend bring your own drinks here (onezo or tiger sugar). This place is cash only.

IMO the best food in the Boston area is in Allston and this is my favorite place by far. It has "beef noodle soup" in the name but I say skip it and get one of the biang biang noodles bowls. Lamb is my goto but there's chicken and meatless too. Portions are massive, sauce is more fragrant than spicy even though it looks hot. Better than Xi'an famous foods in NYC IMO. Everything else I've had is good too (scallion pancakes, 口水鸡, pickled veg poached fish, beef noodles, etc) but you can't go in this place and not order the biang biang noodles in some form. Poached fish bowls are actually gigantic and unlike other places I've been to they don't skimp on fish and there's plenty in there. Oh and it's cash only.

This place is an absolute BANGER. You know a Chinese place is legit if its no frills; the waitresses are curt, theres only 6ish tables, and you go get your own water/utensils. The cumin lamb biang biang noodle is the perfect bowl for a winter day - spicy, savory, with a good meat to noodle ratio. The noodles had a perfect texture, bouncy and just the right amount of chew. The lamb was also tender! PS. get the lamb skewers too, cuz its even more juicy. Lanzhou fresh noodles is def comparable, if not better than NYCs xian famous foods. However, the waitresses aren't very good at understanding english, so if you have allergies, there will be a hard time for accommodations. DONT BE RACIST.

The noodles are good! The scallion pancake is probably the best we had. I guess I’m just picky about 热干面… since that’s literally the only dish I can judge with that one coming from my home town. It was tasty but just not the taste I was looking for. I think I needs more sesame paste to it.

After going to Xian famous foods in NYC, we wanted to find a similar place in Boston. This place hits the spot! The spicy chicken dry noodle was so chewy and flavorful. They fish and picked veg was melt in your mouth good. The chili oil must have crack because I’m addicted.

This place has very flavor packed punch with its noodles. The cumin lamb biang biang noodles are awesome. All of their noodle dishes pretty good. But don’t forget the chongqing chicken with chili peppers a great item. If I had any complaints for 18$ seems a little small in portion size and there are bones to pick out but still delicious.

There is no garage parking, you need to be creative to find a spot. There is no restroom inside, you need to walk to burger king to use theirs. But in terms of food, it's not bad. Definitely worth trying. 拉面's taste is close to its origin, but 面条并不是手拉的. Hot boiling fish is not very good, very little fish and not fresh fish.

Good food, price and portions. Messy interior minimal service. Street parking. Cash only. Hand written receipt only in Chinese. Food is great 👍 big portions Great 11.95 cumin lamb biang noodles. And soups are good too but def get the dry biang noodles. 10.95 Cold chicken in chili oil was good. Salty so get rice. Water, palstic spoons, wooden chopsticks self service. I didn't mind. But tables were sticky so I wiped down w napkins and hand sanitizer. Inside small space, relaxed vibe. Cold if you sit by the door.
