I Love Sushi is a hidden gem in the Lesley University building! It's a very small sushi bar, run by a single person with only 7 seats. It's intimate and cozy. They use high quality ingredients, and their spicy salmon sushi burritos are delicious. This is my go-to restaurant when I want to treat myself for lunch. I Love Sushi is usually quiet and deserves more love for how amazing the food is!

Google
Rude lady working there yelled when I dared to take an extra napkin. Also didn't include the avocado I paid extra for in the eel tool. Would not go back. Shame because all the other stalls have been stellar, great service and delicious

Millie

Google
Not my go-to spot in the area but it’s fine in a pinch. The portions are pretty good and the fish quality has been decent. I liked the hand rolls as an option and their regular maki are decent too but not the biggest portions of fish

Smiley Junction

Google
A decent sushi spot with quite a large variety of options. Wasn't busy at all when my friend and I went. Service was pretty quick, but it did take a little time to get the server's attention when we were ready. The sushi itself was pretty good, although it is a little pricey in my opinion. Overall, worth a try if you're in the Porter square / Lesley university area

Google
Great tasting sushi, sashimi, and appetizers in a modest setting in the Lesley food court. A must try for sushi lovers!!

Google
Great sushi. Nice comfortable presentation. And they open at 11am. An absolute win.

Google
I never experienced so bad service in Boston Ever.I was shocked why the lady worked there showed absolutely rude attitude. "Hi,Can I order?" "What do u mean order?" When you talk to her,she is act not hearing and waiting for long time then react. When I request wanna pay by Apple Pay,she said not accepting, after I told her only Apple Pay,she using very inpatient tone say :come here. Unbelievable,if you don't like your job,why you do this ,if you need money, but respect the people who offer your job Never come again.really leave a trauma !

Google
I love I Love Sushi! The sushi is delicious and the portions are generous, service is fast and efficient. It's counter service, so you can pull up here and grab a menu and mark down what you want and be eating before you know it. I like that the check comes quickly and I can be on my way again. And, of course, the folks running the place are very nice.

Yelp
Amazing tasting, fresh sushi and sashimi in a modest setting right in Lesley Campus' food court. Must try for sushi lovers!

Yelp
Staff were so, so sweet, but the food was not it. The salmon sashimi was super funky to the smell and mouth... That was their last serving of salmon, so I didn't want to be that person to ask for exchange. So, I held my breath and ate 'em all.
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh sushi and fast service! Right in the heart of a lively college. It's also surrounded by other shops, so I can literally get a mix of sushi and ramen/udon/Japanese curry all in one meal hahaha.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good well priced sushi in a basic Lunch counter setting. The people who work there are very kind and lovely!

Shuo Z.

Yelp
This place is actually good. The service is good and the sushi is fresh. Recommend the dragon roll and tempura shrimp roll.

Lisandra F.

Yelp
the lady at the register is very rude, defensive, and aggressive... the food is great but the way she spoke to me was rude and for someone who has worked in customer service that's never how you speak to someone no matter the problem ...

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall Sushi Bar (only bar service and cash only) that is in the Porter Square shops at Lesley U. near the other Japanese options. So instead of Bar crawls? Food hop the stalls at Porter Square full of yummy and inexpensive goodies. Pros: 1) The Boston Rolls (Salmon, Avocado, Cucumber) and get it Spicy or a side of Spicy Mayo 2) The people are Japanese!! I get so annoyed when I'm in a Chinese restaurant serving Sushi. 3) Love the Sashimi (especially the Tuna) 4) Miso Soup is on point 5) Great place to sit by yourself for sushi Cons: 1) Pass on the edamame. It's frozen. 2) Don't come with more then 2 people, but sit in the end corner if you have 4 (on the L). It will fit. 3) No lunch specials- but no big deal b/c it's inexpensive all day. This is not Oishii. Let's get this straight, but it's a simple and hole in the wall sushi place where people are extremely nice and there is quality fish. I've been here so much that I have never had a bad experience and this is way way better than super market sushi per some other older reviews.

Yelp
Great sushi for a reasonable price. There's a small sushi bar as well as takeout. I generally get takeout since it's a 5 min walk from my apartment.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Our favorite sushi place. Good if you want to go out and sit at the counter or good to pick up and eat at home. Would be even better if they had a basic selection of beers/wines, but the food is definitely five stars.

Yelp
TLDR - Fresh, affordable, fast, everything you need in a quick stop for sushi I love Sushi is a small place with about 10 counter seats that serves up fresh sushi for anyone who's got a craving and wants something with quality, but without the extravagance of a full-scale restaurant. They use excellent quality fish and they're menu has a good variety. I'm also a fan of writing down your orders on the laminated menu. Price point is also very affordable and it's a pretty cute food-venture date spot to stop at, especially if you're looking for Asian food here in Porter Square. I Love Sushi is located alongside a couple other small Asian pitstops that I've heard great things about.
google avatar

Marlana Y.

Yelp
I will go out of my way just to eat sushi here because of the good prices and good quality. The ambience isn't that great and the seating is limited but it IS A SUSHI BAR. We try to go by after the lunch rush and there is always ample seating at that time. The service is quick and the food comes out fresh as you order it. I always order the same type of rolls and fish and its def more affordable here with the same type of quality compared to other prices for a higher price. If you like sushi without the fufu frills-then this is the place to check in.

Yelp
The lady is cowering over me as I'm paying the bill! Really are you kidding me. I had to stop, look at her and ask her to give me a minute, like back off and stop looking to see if I give you a tip! Worst experience I've ever had. She wrote on my bill a suggested tip amount and wanted to watch as I counted the money in front of her! Seriously, what the hell happened to this place? Bring back the old management, this place sucks! Ordered a tuna and salmon sashimi on a bed of rice in a bowl. Kinda like a chirashi. The sashimi pieces were so thin and not many pieces in the bowl as I can see rice in between the slices. And the rice wasn't all sushi grade! Unbelievable, they mixed plain rice which is cheaper with some of their sushi rice. Probably trying to save a buck at the patrons expense. And the price is on the heavy side! Not worth it! Don't go to this place, you'll get the cowering old women eyeing you and feel very creeped out by her! This place needs to close!

Yelp
I felt so passionately about giving this place a 5 star review that I'm doing it now from my phone at the restaurant. This place is a super modest place that is easy to walk by, but make sure you don't- this is some of the best sushi in Boston. My boyfriend and I shared a few plates of sashimi (tuna, octapus, salmon, yellowtail, and more) and everything was prepared to perfection. The presentation was beautiful and the chef was both skilled and humbled. There's no doubt about me coming back here. Ps. This place is cash only but conveniently located next to a BOA ATM.
google avatar

Shiksa H.

Yelp
Terrible place for sushi. They served me out package type of fish and not very fresh at all. I tasted the freezer water type of taste from tuna and Tilapia. And they served imitation crab meat as sushi which is just wrong if your name is " I Love Sushi" I hope you improve and consider serving something fresh with some consideration. Not sure it's cheap but considering it's in Cambridge I guess it's cheap. Sorry won't be back here again. I think Wholefood sushi corner would be better. I was the only person at the bar and I sat down around 1 pm. Does that say something? Where is the lunch crowd?
google avatar

Josephine L.

Yelp
They renamed it but it's still pretty much the same. $0.99 nigiri. $7.50 Rainbow Rolls (used to be $6.50 but what the hey). And other rolls averaging between $5-$10. Oh, and did I mention the sushi is super-fresh and super-tasty? For this price, I'd expect the sushi to come from a Costco-sized package of cans, assembled by a cold, unfeeling machine who's never known the touch of a human. Not so. Whether you're a starving college student or a starving former Wall Street yuppie, you can afford to come here. A lot.

Yelp
While I can't deny that this place is affordable, my experience there left me wanting for more. Sure, one could argue that my allergy to fish and seafood automatically limits my experience there. And those people have a point although I have been to other places, such as Genki Ya where it's been terrific. Go figure. This modest sushi bar is essentially one rectangular counter, located within the confines of the 'The Shops at Porter' miniature mall. Once you step inside, you'll notice a theme: there's a ton of Asian restaurants there. I like to call that place ramen alley (although there's really only one true ramen spot there, Sapporo Ramen) and at the beginning, on the Mass ave side of the complex is Masa's Sushi Bar. But before I go any further, please note that my visit to Masa was caused by the long line at other places. Originally, I went there to hit up Sapporo for some ramen but like it so happens often, the lines were very long. I then decided to forego that original idea and get some sushi. I found an empty seat at the counter and sat right now. A menu and a pencil was given to me and after scouring through the various options, I checked a few of them and submitted my filled out ordering form to the Japanese guy on the other side. I patiently waited and had to ask twice to get my drink. One of the guys, a much younger person, just stood there and ignored everyone and watch everyone else work. It was a bit awkward but I finally had my drink. A few minutes later, the first half of the order arrived - and then the second half. Honestly, the sushi wasn't bad but it didn't taste all that great. The veggie one was bland and the sweet potato roll was pretty solid. Some of the pieces weren't evenly cut and a few fell appart when I grabbed them with my chopsticks which was a bit frustrating. All in all, not a bad sushi bar. It's conveniently located but I've definitely had better. The price isn't bad and service is decent although far from great. It's a lot better than what you'd find at a supermarket nearby though and there's few options in the area, except if you want to go to Harvard Square or Davis Square.

Yelp
This is honestly one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to in the US! In fact, it's much more reminiscent of a department store-basement sushi joint in Tokyo than an American establishment. What this means (for folks who haven't been to Japan) is that the service is good, the food is great, but the establishment itself lacks any frills which would increase its market level in the US. A note of caution, if you want a large number of nigiri, then be prepared to spend more. If they weren't as good as they are, I'd knock off a star for the hours.

Yelp
I Heart Sushi is my go-to place for a quick bite of fresh sushi. They don't have an enormous selection of specialty rolls, but what they have, they do well. Their spicy tuna cucumber roll is delicious, and the sashimi is always fresh and flavorful. I stop by here at least once a week to satisfy my sushi craving, and have never had a bad experience - the food is consistently good, and less pricey than most other joints in town. Even though they close at 9 p.m. and only take cash, I'm still giving this place 5 stars for quality product and fast, friendly service. I have recommended this sushi place to all of my friends in the Cambridge/Somerville area.

Yelp
I would like to give this little sushi bar a good review. I had been to I Heart Sushi before and since they seemed like a decent establishment with only one review I figured that I'd take the time to pen one up. I sat down and ordered some cucumber rolls and ikura. It was a little odd that the ikura arrived solo but despite the petite portions there was nothing to complain about flavorwise. The bar was small but accommodating. The server seemed friendly enough. Best of all, I had a nice little vantage point of the chef action from my side of the bar. Then I got a phone call. I kept my voice low so as not to disturb the patrons next to me, who seemed very excited about their food. It turned out to be futile anyway, since the end of my conversation sounded something like this: "No problem, I'll talk to you later as soon as you get some free time. Right now I'm sitting at a sushi bar enjoying some nice... OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!!" Directly in front of me the sushi chef had dropped his knife on the floor. It was a rainy day in Boston, meaning the entire Boston area was like one big giant unmopped surface. No matter-- any good chef would simply chuck the knife into the sink, grab an extra blade, then proceed with his/her work. Not the case this time. As if in slow motion, I witnessed the chef picking the knife up off the floor and resume his slicing of a generous piece of unagi. Julia Child jokes aside it does serve to remind one that sushi joints serve raw fish, not something which might be discreetly sanitized by roasting it in the oven. Furthermore, the cook's choice to do this right before my eyes seemed not so much brazen as just plain stupid. I'd like to say that my evening meal concluded on a good note; instead it concluded with me a.) politely informing the chef's assistant that it was not okay to use knives which had been dropped and b.) hurriedly finishing my tea and leaving.

Pedro B.

Yelp
I love Sushi... I love you. My goodness it's so close to home. On my tastebuds you pulled a coup. The sushi burrito makes me happy... Om. Spicy salmon gets the job done. Next time I'll get the sweet potato. I definitely could eat more than one. That would eat my paycheck though.
google avatar

Tom L.

Yelp
A very sweet old lady serves you really bad sushi. My tuna was still frozen when I got it, I saw the chef try to warm it up in his hand before plating. I get that fresh, high quality sushi is expensive, but at this rate you may as well go to the supermarket down the street.

E H.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a Thursday night. Sushi was great and the sushi chef is very nice, excellent service! Ps cash only
google avatar

Jay K.

Yelp
I like this place. The food is always delicious, and they have tilapia which I've never seen anywhere else and it turns out is super awesome. The prices are very good and the service is always friendly. It's a bit small since it's just a bar-style set up, but there is usually at least one bar stool free so good if you're flying solo. I wouldn't come here with more than 2 people though just because of the tight set up. The service can be a little slow at times, but it's because they're making your order specifically for you. So this is a good thing!

Sophie J.

Yelp
Very bad service! I order to go and they didn't let me seat on the chair to wait for my order while there was no one seating there! They claim to be best fish in town but can't even treat a client.

Juliana C.

Yelp
Very cute sushi restaurant with only bar seating for 15 people. Wide array of sushi roll options at reasonable prices. Got the miso soup and edamame which were both basic but yummy choices. Ordered 3 rolls and ended up ordering one more roll and also salmon nigiri after finishing the first 3 because it was so good. Basic small place with very good food, and friendly staff, can't wait to come back! (This restaurant is also cash only!)
google avatar

Anna K.

Yelp
Small but efficient: quick serve, tasty food, good veggie options. Located steps away from Porter Sq.
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
If you A) raise your prices and B) portion the sizes of the product smaller you will C) lose repeat customers. Leastways, I'M not going back. The sashimi is cut so thin, so small and so translucent, you can see blurry images of the sticky menu/placemat beneath it (and yep, I did this. Right in front of the waitress. Maybe a cook noticed it, too. And if they did, GOOD.). You can put, say, the two pieces of tuna together and you would then have one regular cut of sashimi at any other restaurant. The rice for the Chirashi wasn't cooked enough either. Can't blame it on the place being too busy because it was half-empty. Good luck and God bless, this place blows.
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
I do like their sushi, but one of the main people who work the counter are always scowling customers down for tips. Even after putting more than the suggested tip she was reluctant to give me the rest of my change, insinuating it was rude to not just give her double their recommended tip. If I hadn't seen her argue with customers about tips on top oddments my personal experience I probably would have disregarded her behavior. But knowing left more than the recommended top and got pushback from her, it made me aware that this was just part of the experience at this sushi place. If you can accept that and tip their recommended tip or more as you see fit, and can deal with not sweating this weird feeling of being shaken down, you'll enjoy the sushi and sushi bar atmosphere
google avatar

Manfred S.

Yelp
Set down and got up immediately. Hence, I cannot attest to taste (nor would I). A sushi bar that pre-cuts is not acceptable. I expect fish to be cut to order. And then, a less than spotless counter is unacceptable and not worth the risk - even if it is cheap.
google avatar

Oliver W.

Yelp
Best sushi in Boston. Don't come for the atmosphere (it's in what looks like a shopping mall) but the sushi is amazing. Very fresh fish, and the rice is served just warm. You can see the care that's put into the sushi as it's counter-only seating. Recommend the Boston roll (simple yet delicious), Wildfire roll (very spicy!), and Lesley roll. I'm a happy return customer
google avatar

Tsz Hin K.

Yelp
A nice sushi bar, nothing to get excited about. When I get a craving for sushi, and I want somewhere close (I live across the street), I go to Masa. It's easily a better choice than pre-packaged sushi, and it's a much better deal than sitting down for sushi (i.e., Blue Fin). You won't be disappointed by the quality of the fish, but there's nothing to blow your mind. For $10-$20 sushi dinners that are a stone's throw from my apartment, I'm satisfied. If you live elsewhere in Cambridge, you might come to Masa just because there's just a severe lack of cheap sushi. But if there's something that you like that is closer to your house, don't bother making the trek to Porter Square.
google avatar

Hapto T.

Yelp
The cleaned up the joint, got some attentive and adorable assist staff, and tacked on a few dollars to the menu... but whatever, if I want sushi while traveling home on my commute, this is where I go, because Bluefin = sadness in a handroll. And I'm glad to see them cleaned up... the guys that make the sushi vary slightly -- some of the chefs just "do it better" -- but I've never been sad. Price notes: An insideout california roll= 3.99, avocado roll=2.70, eel avocado=$3.99, and my personal favourite - "spicy crispy eel avocado roll"= 5.90 Salmon, sweet egg, tuna, etc nigiri/sashimi is just .99 and a handroll is $3.50. Edamame and seaweed salad will cost 2.99 and its all mega, turbo, tasty. Never been better.
google avatar

David V.

Yelp
Is this the best sushi around? Not even close, but when it comes to getting the most bang for your buck, this place is unrivaled. It's a vastly superior option to supermarket sushi, and the quality is nearly as good as neighboring bluefin but for half the cost. 99 cent nigiri and most rolls under $5 - you can spend 20 bucks here, stuff yourself silly, and still get change. Since the name change, it seems that most of the rolls are only offered with a cucumber option. I'm not a big cucumber fan, especially when it's one large hunk as opposed to the thinly sliced little strips you find at most sushi places. Eating a piece with this kind of cucumber in it feels like somebody snuck a pebble into your sushi. If you request they swap the cuke for avocado, they'll usually do it at no extra charge.

Warren L.

Yelp
This is the best sushi place I've ever been to. I've been going here for four years nearly twice a week. The place is cash only but an ATM is right next to the place. Anyone who believes that either of these wonderful humans behind the counter ever did anything unacceptable is crazy. I have travelled from Cape Cod just to come here for sushi! I get good conversation, delicious fish, best service, and I'm glad to be called one of the best customers of this establishment. The rolls are huge and for Cambridge this place is amazingly priced! Wouldn't go anywhere else. I've watched the sushi chef make my sushi for so long I can guarantee there is nothing but high quality food being brought in here. Try the salmon and the Alaskan! I love sushi!
google avatar

Mahina K.

Yelp
It would seem they changed their name to "I (heart) sushi" I love this place. Great sushi, great prices. Their Spicy Tuna Cucumber crunchy roll is delicious. It's like a spicy tuna roll with panko and spicy mayo on top. Then their spider roll, 8.99 is very cheap for what it is, other places charge (occasionally 10) around 12-14. Their sushi is pretty fresh, well made, and just so affordable. I do take out a lot but occasionally I'll stick around. But this is like an actual sushi bar. Like a bar, not a walk in sit-down restaurant. The staff is nice enough, not extremely chatty. I'm okay with that sometimes though. I'm fairly regular here, when I know there will be a longer wait I call my order in or know you can explore the rest of the shopping center, there's a little store around the corner that's pretty cool. Cash only, but there is an ATM around the corner by City Sports.

Yelp
$1 SUSHI- ALL THE TIME!!! Need I say more? The sushi is tasty, the rolls are good, and all rolls are UNDER $5. The staff (even the sushi chefs, who usually say nothing to you) is very pleasant. A++ experience. Oh, you should know, it's not a restaurant, per se. It's like a little booth in a store, and all seating is at the bar. Nothing fancy, at all. In the Porter Exchange Building. FABULOUS!!!
google avatar

Rika H.

Yelp
Portions are small (meat is thin and rice is small), the rice was hard and old with not much of sushi flavor (rice vinegar and sugar smell), the seaweed was chewy (means old) and the fish did not have that glossy fresh look (I would say the fish was 1-2 days old). I noticed that they skimped out of fish on some of the rolls, being almost all rice. The fish is precut, this is a major fail as the fish dries out quickly and loses moisture. I watched them make the sushi and realized they don't even know how to roll it properly with the bamboo mat, so this is how I know they don't know sushi very well. Overall it was meh, not fantastic, not good, just meh, but for what it was it was expensive. For sushi of the same caliber I get it togo at Market on the Square. The fish there is fresh and even though it costs a little more, the portions are proportional to Masa's price.

Matthias T.

Yelp
I've been coming to this spot for years, and even though it's gone through a variety of owners, chefs, and names, the sushi seems to me to be mostly the same. And by the same, I mean of a solidly consistent decent quality. Nothing to make you scream in unregulated seafood-induced bliss, but reliably good. The best sushi in the Porter Square area? Well, I like the menu at Super Fusion *slightly* better, but I think the quality of the food is the same. Do note, as other reviewers have pointed out, this is a bar, with limited seating, but fun fact about the food court this places is a part of. You can order food at one place, and take it to another eatery in the same food court, as long as someone else in your party orders from where you're actually eating. This is totally cool with everyone there. This also works in reverse: you can bring your own drinks to the the sushi bar, which is a good idea, because their soft drink selection is pretty limited. Staff is variable, but never unfriendly. Rarely will anyone be friendly, either, but sometimes, you can get service with a smile. Someone always thanks me and wishes me a nice day when I leave, which I appreciate. This is a great place to get a quick bite on your own, on the way home from work, just after you get off the T. Right by the Porter Square T stop. My personal favorites are the yellowfin and tuna. Always, sweet, fresh, and bright.
google avatar

Bonnie K.

Yelp
This is the best sushi in all the land. The chefs are so wonderful, helpful and accommodating. I always get the same stuff, but whenever friends come along with food allergies they help out as much as they can. I love how even when I'm walking by, and not sitting down to eat, the staff will still wave and say hi. The bar can get crammed every now and then, but if you wait 3 minutes max, seats will begin to open up. The sushi here is so delicious and about half the price of their competitors. It's only $.99 per piece! Can't go wrong here :)
google avatar

Steph P.

Yelp
This place is great for a quick meal at a great price. No frills, no muss, no fuss and trustworthy fish at great prices. Nothing mind-blowing really, but good quality and friendly service.

Jasper P.

Yelp
This is a good local small business. Your not going to get sushi from a Michelin star restaurant here but its good food for a decent price. Plus since its a bar you can see the sushi chef make the food in front of you and so you don't have to worry about someone putting boogers in your food. I'm a on and off regular and I see sometimes people don't tip because its a small counter. But I see the same people there working hard everyday (literally 7 days a week) when I walk by, and they refill my water when I eat there and do their bit so I always leave tips. I'm the type who leave tips regardless --I'm not always smiling and happy at work so I don't use that standard to rate the server. Tipping is not required but owners can pay their serving staff less than minimum wage by giving them tips so I try not to skimp on that.

Yelp
I think I liked this place slightly more before it changed hands.. but it is still the cheapest place to have a sushi date I've ever found. Their fish is fresh, their service is fast and friendly and their prices are very reasonable. We normally order the spicy crispy tuna, salmon and cucumber, shrimp tempura and an avocado roll + extra ginger and sodas in a can.
google avatar

Carrie M.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place! Well, this counter actually. The sushi is fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced. Usually ~ $35 for dinner sushi for two and it's a LOT of sushi - DH can eat his weight in tuna rolls. My portion of a typical order involves a stellar shrimp tempura roll with eel sauce, a couple of pieces of nigiri and the crispy, spicy Cali roll. Other things I've tried: every piece of sushi has been good, the miso soup is decent, the edamame is good - although one time the beans were frozen, SOLID, didn't notice until I got home and when I called to ask them about it, they said I had to cook it at home. Wha? If I wanted to do that I could pick up a bag of frozen beans at Whole Foods, jeez. The next time they comped us an order of edamame - very nice of them. Staff is pretty friendly. One slight negative was the seaweed salad, it is a rather disturbing bright, kelly green, was concerned about what made it glow like that - haven't ever seen that color naturally occur! Gets 4 stars because the menu is pretty limited, would love some more non-sushi options, like Gyoza, tempura or something along those lines. Finally, great parking (although I often walk), well located and just oh so yummy!!

Kevin C.

Yelp
This is my favorite takeout sushi place - reasonable prices and quick service. It feels like a genuine local sushi bar - hard to find but excellent. It's also conveniently located on the Red Line in Porter Square. You'll often find people picking up sushi after work on their way home. The only available seats are by the sushi bar, so I recommend grabbing sushi to go. Their crispy, spicy tuna rolls are fantastic. They only accept cash.

Yelp
Dear God, this is the cheapest sushi (and best for the price) that I have ever encountered. It's also super fast, and should there be a bit of a wait, seats will open up very quickly. So here's the thing. You have to pay cash, but you can go here and eat pretty bloody well for two and pay $20-25 for the both of you. It isn't the most inventive sushi place- it's an honest sushi bar, with the very typical sorts of options and nothing beyond that. If you want crazy fancy rolls, go elsewhere. But for what they have, for some good spicy tuna rolls and some salmon and yellow tail. Their roe is also excellent. Basically, it is far from fancy. If you need to impress someone, this probably isn't the place, since the lighting is God-awful fluorescent and you sit on stools at a fast-paced, somewhat loud-ish sushi bar. But if you want quality sushi for under the price you'd pay at a grocery store, this is your place. Be prepared to pay cash only. Also, because of the size, this is not the best place to take a larger group of any kind.

Yelp
Sad to see that the quality of this place has gone down. We came back after 5 years to find bad quality fish, rice and malos without flavor. A lot of rice with a little of other ingredients. But also the other ingredients were not great.

Yelp
I stop by this sushi bar from time to time. It is a nice alternative to waiting in line at some of the shops at Porter Exchange, and they make the sushi very quickly and yummy. You can sit down at the small bar and watch your order get made. I am a fan of spicy tuna and anything with avacados in it. Just like the other shops here, they're cash only. There is an ATM in the lobby if you need to grab some cash.

Yelp
I was at a conference upstairs at Lesley and wanted to try Cafe Mami but my dining companion wanted sushi. The service was great, the price was right. I noticed the fish was pre sliced. A little odd? The ginger was bright pink, not the beige of a quality ginger. My fish was not too fresh looking in fact I left 3 pieces. The rice was slightly hard. It was ok but not great. 3 lunch specials 25.00 USD with a good tip. Cheap for sure..and a fun vibe.

Yelp
Masa Sushi Bar has gone into the phone booth and is now...I Heart Sushi! Same (exact) everything including the menu and posters, which now just have "I Heart Sushi" stickers over the parts that say Masa. Still pretty cheap thought their prices are going up, still very fresh, and the folks there are always friendly. Continue to enjoy :)
