Nashville’s First Paris Baguette to Open in Late 2024 | Eater Nashville

"The sisters brought I Love Sushi, an Alabama-based restaurant serving Japanese cuisine, to Midtown Nashville in fall 2020 as part of their move from manufacturing into hospitality; opening that restaurant marked an early step in their careers in the local food industry and helped them gain experience traveling between restaurants to learn the business." - Kellie Walton

Alabama-Based I Love Sushi Is Sliding Into Elliston Place | Eater Nashville

"I noticed a sign on the old Nama space at 2300 Elliston Place saying I Love Sushi is coming soon; the Huntsville and Madison menus for I Love Sushi show a rather large selection of hot appetizers, salads, soups, sushi and hand rolls, sashimi, donburi, noodles, hot entrees, and more. I Love Sushi opened in 2013 in Huntsville and is owned by Jim Xue, who also operates sister restaurants ChopChop Fresh Salads and Kamado Ramen, and Eater Nashville has reached out to I Love Sushi Nashville to confirm whether it’s the same I Love Sushi with locations in north Alabama." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Google
We were excited to try this place with friends because of the high ratings. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The restaurant was surprisingly slow considering the restaurant was empty. The brought our appetizers out with our meal which is a little irritating. The edamame was mush but the dumplings were good. The sushi was below average and the ramen was the worst that I have eaten. To make matters worse it took forever to get our check then another five minutes for the server to run my card. The ratings at this place are very misleading but the empty restaurant should have been a ted flag warning us to go somewhere else.

Google
Hands down the best sushi in Nashville! I always get the yellowtail jalapeño and it never disappoints. I can’t remember the bartender’s name from my recent visit (it was unique) but he was awesome!

Google
Shelly with Offline - I Love Sushi is hands-down my favorite sushi spot! The quality is incredible — it’s the only sushi I’ve found that truly compares to the fresh, flavorful sushi I used to get in California. Every roll tastes amazing, and you can tell how fresh the fish is. If you’re a sushi lover, this place is a must.

RUTH S.

Google
We had a great experience at I Love Sushi in Nashville! The sashimi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can taste the quality. They offer All You Can Eat (AYCE) sushi for $24.99, which is a great value, but be aware that the entire group must participate in the AYCE option. To help reduce food waste, they have a policy where leftovers may be subject to an extra fee, especially if rice is left on sushi orders. So only order what you’ll finish. Kids under 3 eat free, and those between 3 and 10 eat at half price, which makes this place a great choice for families. We also tried the Tuna Lover Roll, which is perfect if you want a roll with a little kick of spice tasty, and well balanced! The Ton Katsu was another highlight: crispy, savory, and very satisfying. Special thanks to Vero, our waitress. She was amazing, super friendly, and gave us excellent service. Plus, she’s bilingual (English and Spanish), which was a big plus for our group. Highly recommend this spot for sushi lovers and anyone who appreciates great service and fresh food! 🍣🍱

Google
Walked in with zero expectation and had a really great lunch. By far the coolest Chirashi in Nashville. The California Roll was made with blue crab - very cool! And they had Uni and Toro, so they're going on the list!

Raul S G.

Google
Stopped by I Love Sushi in Nashville for lunch, solid experience overall. I ordered the chirashi, which was fresh and nicely portioned, and the lunch sushi roll combo with the spicy shrimp and Viagra roll — both were flavorful and well-prepared. The service stood out the most, our waitress was super friendly and attentive the entire time. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and want a relaxed sushi lunch spot.

Google
Nice atmosphere and all the food exceeded my expectations. We were served by Em and we had great service, definitely recommend.

Google
Ate here with my 90 year old dad and my brother. It was so good. My dad wasn’t a sushi fan till he ate it here. We had Oysters which are delicious. We had Rainbow roll, Salmon lovers roll, eel & avocado roll. Everything as fresh and tastee. It’s good for a 90 year old to find a new food love too!

Yelp
If you're a sushi enthusiast, I Love Sushi should be at the top of your list! This restaurant has everything I look for in a sushi spot: incredibly fresh ingredients, a wide variety of options, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's clear from the first bite that I Love Sushi takes pride in the quality and presentation of their dishes. Every piece is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. The freshness here is unmatched. The fish is tender and flavorful, with that perfect, delicate texture that only truly fresh sushi has. Their sashimi is particularly impressive--each slice is generous and practically melts in your mouth. The rice is consistently well-seasoned and expertly cooked, making every roll and nigiri a satisfying experience. They also offer an array of specialty rolls, combining unique flavors that work harmoniously together without overshadowing the star of the show--the fish itself. Beyond the food, the staff at I Love Sushi add so much to the experience. They're attentive, friendly, and always happy to make recommendations if you're unsure about what to try. Whether you're dining in or ordering takeout, they ensure that every detail is taken care of. The service is quick without sacrificing quality, and you can tell that customer satisfaction is a priority. The restaurant itself has a clean, modern ambiance that's perfect for any occasion--whether it's a casual lunch, a night out with friends, or a special date. The menu offers something for everyone, from traditional options to creative rolls, making it a place that both sushi purists and adventurous eaters can enjoy. Prices are reasonable given the high quality, and there are plenty of options for various budgets. In short, I Love Sushi is a must-visit for anyone who loves sushi. The combination of fresh, flavorful dishes and wonderful service makes it one of the best sushi experiences around. I can't wait to return and try even more of their offerings!

Yelp
We ordered to go after a nearby sporting event - the online process was easy and I was quoted 15 minutes after I ordered. There is plenty of street parking near the brightly lit restaurant. We arrived before the 15 minute quoted time and our order was already packaged up and ready to go! We ordered the spring rolls (4 in the order), pork gyoza, kids shrimp hibachi, California roll, and spicy crab roll for a total of $43. The bag included several pairs of chopsticks, soy sauce, and napkins! The food was good - we really enjoyed the sushi that was packed with filling and flavor. The gyoza was cold but it's wintertime here. Would definitely recommend this for a quick and yummy meal.

Yelp
Very good quality sushi for a good price. My server was very quick and a great attitude and smile! Wide open spaces for a large group of people if needed. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Sooooooo good! I ordered out food was ready when I got there. Turned a typical evening into a really enjoyable experience

Yelp
I decided to get sushi one day after work. I went around 6pm on a Tuesday night and the crowd was light. I didn't make a reservation and was able to get seated right away. Our waiter was nice, but bless his heart he didn't know anything about the menu. He tried, but he was so wrong lol. We had to get the manager, who was able to tell us more about the menu and gf options. I decided to go with the experience, and which came with 3 different types of rolls. Each roll was good. The experience allowed me to have a variety. I know, I'm greedy lol. The experience also came with miso soup and a salad. This meal was plentiful and I had leftovers for the next day.

Yelp
Was at Blackstone and the beertender suggested I Love Sushi as a place that had great sushi for a decent price. Lucked out and got the last spot in front and popped in to grab a bit. To be honest, the prices are not that decent. I might feel differently if the sushi was off the chart (try Takashi in Salt Lake City or Shibuya in Calabasas, CA). This is fairly average sushi and a bit pricier than some other average sushi joints in the Nashville area. We started with a calamari appetizer, which was probably the highlight. They served it whole rather than in rings (see picture). Maybe a bit overdone, but it was still in that soft stage between chewy (undercooked) and hard (overcoooked). The sauce was nice and added to the dish. I ordered a sushi combination and she ordered a roll (wish I remembered the name and too lazy to Google now). Both were good. I did like that the fish matched the rice ball size and the rice was not overbearing (another review of a place in Rome). Fish was fresh, but I have had tastier rice and fish at some other bars around the country. Overall, if the price was a bit lower, I might tack on another star. My understanding is they have great lunch and happy hour specials, so I would aim for this if you are seeking sushi.

Yelp
Walked here from Centennial Park, great location and ambiance (****) Service was mediocre especially considering we came on weekend for lunch and was pretty slow (***) Food quality was poor, especially the quality of the Tuna. Very pale and tasteless. All in all not the best experience (**) If you're just looking for the closest thing to a sushi place and quality isn't a big deal then I recommend; if your more discerning I suggest keep looking for a more authentic experience

Yelp
Great options for someone who doesn't typically like sushi! This place has a ton of sushi options for veteran sushi-lovers, but as someone who typically doesn't enjoy sushi or raw fish, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the options here! Instead of defaulting to a safe bet of teriyaki chicken, I decided to try the Love Wheel Roll (bottom of the photo) and it was delicious. The top roll was the Salmon Lover Roll and my partner equally enjoyed that as well.

Yelp
Fantastic fresh sushi. Arrived on a weekday night and although a little crowded we,party of 5 mind you, were seated in less than 5min. Waitress was prompt with service and quickly took the drink order. Food order was taken as drinks arrived. Now bout this sushi...The Spider, Dragon, and the Shaggy....absolutely some of the best sushi I've eaten in quite some time. Very fresh ingredients...nice bite. If you happen to be around I strongly suggest this for a good sushi option. Very lovely restaurant...fresh modern vibe!!

Yelp
I fell in love with the "I Love Sushi" brand down in Huntsville, AL. I don't know if they are connected but looks like the same font and logo. Menu is huge but everything seems expensive...they probably have a high $ rent to keep up with there and cost of food these days. Everything was delicious and on point with other similar Japanese or sushi places. Nothing makes this stand out from others though. Parking sucks here if you can get in the deck but ask for their 30' comp QR code when you get in.
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
Was here for large group event and the employees were very accommodating! Ordered a salmon lover roll and spicy salmon roll. Not the best sushi I've had in Nashville, but it was filling! Parking may be difficult as well.

Yelp
We have walked by this place so many times, but finally tried it last Friday. I am sorry we waited. It was so good! The space is a lot bigger than expected. The service was spot-on and the sushi was terrific. Pricing was very reasonable, too. We will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I love sushi has delicious food! Our table ordered so much food and we'e starving and I missed quite a few pictures haha. We of course started with edamame (it's a classic) and then the shrimp appetizer. The shrink was good a little too rich for my flavor pallet. Then we ordered yellow tail that was delicious! Highly recommend the yellowtail! For my main course I ordered ramen (it was a colder day) and split a Nash Vegas with my husband. Both were delicious and soo much food! I highly recommend ordering an extra egg in the ramen, it is so tasty! Also our waitress was really attentive and even helped my family make some modifications to rolls based on their preferences.

Yelp
Amazing sushi spot near Vanderbilt University. It's run by a super talented and sweet couple. I am very picky about sushi and was pleasantly surprised to find such a high quality place in Nashville. The service was top notch as well! I will definitely come back to try more from their menu when I'm in Nashville.

Yelp
Still fire. I enjoy this place every time I go. Lychee martini: still great, not too sweet but just sweet enough. Very solid cocktail. Pork gyoza: perfectly crisp, nice and juicy. (Oh and these come with 6, but I ate 2 before I remembered to take a picture lol) Got the steamed pork buns this time as well. 3.5/5. Pork belly was delicious as always and the bun was nice and soft. I believe there was apple or something on it which added a nice, fresh sweetness. I think it could use more sauce because it was a bit too dry but still tasty. Everyone is very nice! Great service, water was refilled regularly. Cool decor. Definitely a nice spot to bring friends.

Yelp
I think sushi here was phenomenal. I haven't had this good quality of sushi in a long time, in fact, never in the Nashville area. The restaurant was very spacious, the waitress made sure we had everything we needed, and again, the food quality was over the top. I recommend this place as a date night!!!

Daniel S.

Yelp
I rarely write reviews--it's just not my style. After 14 years in kitchens, I've seen my share of bad habits and corner-cutting, but what I'm witnessing now is a new low in culinary malpractice. I'm sitting at the sushi bar, watching a chef--clearly the one in charge--sneeze violently into a trash can. Not a hand-wash, not a pause for dignity. Before I can process the horror, he grabs what looks like snapper, leans it against the rim of the same trash can, and starts scaling it with the kind of nonchalance you'd expect from someone peeling a potato. I feel like I'm in the middle of a bad fever dream, only this one ends with me praying I don't end up sick--or worse--on my flight home. This isn't just unprofessional. It's an insult to anyone who has ever cared about food, or their customers. Some kitchens are temples. This one's a crime scene.

Yelp
Great food and great staff. Went on a Sunday afternoon and they had lunch specials available but I opted for the special rolls which weren't included. 10 out of 10 would recommend by yourself or with a large group

Yelp
Sushi was so good and fresh! It made my stay at a hotel perfect. I ordered there 4 nights in row!

Yelp
We were in the Nashville area for the CMA fest. We stopped in for an early dinner. The food was very good. Service was quick and the staff was super nice. The interior is well kept and clean. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
I'd recommend I Love Sushi for a quick and straightforward experience with 4-star sushi. You'll find traditional Japanese options as well as fusion options on the menu. I would happily go back. A group of 4 friends and I visited I Love Sushi for a late lunch one Sunday afternoon with the goal of a quick, tasty, chill meal on the outskirts of Nashville. We got exactly what we needed! Two of us got just sushi, a third got the lunch deal with included specific sushi roll options+soup+salad and the fourth got a bento box with fried cutlet+soup+salad+one sushi roll. I heard no complaints and enjoyed my simple sushi rolls just fine. We did have some snickers around the "love"-themed menu item names, but didn't dwell on it too much. Our food came so quickly! Our waitress was great. Friendly and helpful and quick. The kitchen was *really* quick, actually, definitely due to us being some of the last customers of the day (the restaurant closes in the early afternoon on Sundays). There were very few other customers while we were there. LOGISTICS: * Single stall bathrooms are available to the right of the bar, men's and women's * Paid street parking available, free on Sundays!Single-stall * Two levels of seating are available, an upstairs and a downstairs

Yelp
In town for a conference so, decided before my flight to grab lunch nearby the Loews. Walked a half a mile and saw this place. Nice place with TVs to watch games and a nice patio. Service seemed a bit slow with servers not sure who was covering my table. I ordered edamame and a spicy tuna hand roll. They served me a regular spicy tuna roll, no big deal. It was a good roll not, best I've had. Then I ordered the seared ahi tuna salad. This was very good and the dressing was the reason. Some sort of spicy ginger dressing. Salad was mixed greens with avocado. No reason not to hear back next time in town.

Cheryl C.

Yelp
Went for lunch and did the all you can eat. Good quality food, lots of options, good portions. I have a shellfish allergy so I tried to sub the shrimp out and they wouldn't on the set menu which was a bummer so it really limited the rolls I could try that I wanted to. Other than that, the food was good.
google avatar

Daw M.

Yelp
Cute little sushi spot with affordable pricing. Wasn't a fan of the miso soup or the salad. Fish was good but was not expecting octopus And calamari to be mixed in my sashimi platter. Service was fine, but we lost our server at the end. We paid our bill with another server and when we were getting up to leave she finally came back to gives us our paid bill again due to her inattentive service.

Kayla M.

Yelp
Upon walking in, there were more people in for a Monday than expected. The cleanliness in the space and bathroom could use a bit of work (minor). There's a stinch and a few gnats (small bugs) in the air. The R&B remakes / covers playing in the background was welcoming though and the bartender was super attentive and helpful. She kept her space clean and was amazing! The food was quick to come out and was fresh! I started with miso soup which never fails! The yellowtail jalapeno apwas a great price for what you get and it was tasty! I wrapped up with the out of control roll which was recommended by the bartender. Fire. A mouthful but so yummy!
google avatar

Candace W.

Yelp
My friends and I saw a sushi chef that was cutting up fish in the visible open kitchen eat two pieces of meat and continue working!! Need I say more? There is more if you're still reading and not disgusted. Our server was extremely apathetic and seemed to not like her job. My friend got the shaggy dog roll and it was rolled incorrectly with cucumber pieces falling out when the roll was picked up. The broccoli that came with the chicken teriyaki was painfully watery and bland, and the chicken was dry (white without much sauce as seen in the attached picture). The food also took 30 mins to come out at least, and we were there at a not-busy time. At least the restaurant is modern and has an updated, classy interior. Overall: will never come here again or recommend it- chefs are eating the food while preparing food for guests, the rolls were rolled incorrectly, and the other dishes were dry and bland + poor service and slow service. Not worth the money. Head somewhere else for sushi.

Yelp
Found my rice in Nashville. I couldn't wait to eat here. Everything tasted delicious and with good company we weren't disappointed! Pork ramen was my favorite.
google avatar

Yelp
The sushi here is amazing. The Jalapeño Bomb is especially good. I highly recommend you give it a try!
google avatar

Latasha P.

Yelp
Sam was very accommodating! She was very nice and attentive. I had the Yellowtail Jalapeño and the Shaggy dog. Both were delicious and fresh. To drink I had the Hokkaido martini and it was okay.. a little sweet for my liking but still palatable. Parking was okay as the had some street parking out front. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I'll be back!

Yelp
I'm not a sushi fan but I really enjoyed the chicken udon meal, but I didn't enjoy the chicken soba that I ordered for takeout. Not sure if it was the in-person vs takeout or noodle difference, but it won't deter me from not trying again. Had a cocktail with a friend and we both got really rosy & didn't feel great after it (only one, we're normal drinkers) so thinking we got bad vodka. Probably wouldn't order a cocktail again. This place is always busy, especially when it's nice out. Good amount of patio seating (dog friendly too). Lots of indoor seating, bigger than you think from the outside. The service was good for the times - we had a really nice waitstaff.
google avatar

Yelp
Found this little sushi place while staying at the Loews hotel. We wanted a break from heavy, fried food and based on the reviews, gave it a shot. Was definitely a great spot for lunch. The lunch specials cannot be beat. Two rolls Plus miso soup and a salad for only $14, stellar deal. We also had the jalapeno popper app and that was great. Not spicy at all as the seeds were hollowed out. Service was excellent. Was it the best sushi I've ever had, no, but was it solid, absolutely. Would I recommend it for someone who's in the area and wants to grab a great priced lunch, you bet!!!
google avatar

Kristin P.

Yelp
Honestly, this was one of the better sushi spots in Nashville. I enjoyed it so much I went twice in one week. The staff was great, and always timely with our orders. RECOMMEND
google avatar

Sasha P.

Yelp
Another gem in Nashville! We went for a quick bite and I was very impressed with how fresh and flavorful everything was. The pork bao appetizer was decent but I wish the temperature was better. I had the spicy tuna and cucumber avocado rolls and enjoyed every single bite. Since I have a shellfish allergy I couldn't try the other two rolls, but my friends thoroughly enjoyed them! Prices were decent, service was fast and reliable. Definitely recommend this spot!

S K.

Yelp
Clean. Good food, good service. The sushi was fresh and prepared like artwork. Definitely a 5 star, will be returning. Visiting from California.

Yelp
I went on a Friday night and street parked in the back of the building. The restaurant is big with plenty of seating so we were seated immediately for a table of 3. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, salmon belly nigiri, and the shaggy dog roll. All were very enjoyable and tasted good! Quality sushi and reasonably priced.
google avatar

Yelp
I had surprisingly great fish in Nashville. Great food. Great people. Bartender Anna was friendly and made me feel at home. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Very clean and healthy meal. Quick service. Great aesthetic. Fantastic service.

Contia S.

Yelp
This place stays busy and I can see why. The college scene really likes this place. The restaurant is large. They have upstairs, indoor and outdoor seating. The quality of sushi here is so good. Sometimes it's hard to find good sushi.
google avatar

Gloria L.

Yelp
Unfortunately the lunch plate was HORRIBLE. I chose the yellowtail with scallion roll and the tuna roll. BOTH were flavorless...miso soup and ginger dressing salad included. Soup tasted like dirty water and although I love ginger dressing, the salad was soaked in it. All in all...WORST, Don't waste your money or time. Waitress was nice so I gave her a 40% tip...I hope she finds a new job.

Olivia B.

Yelp
BEST FOOD IVE HAD IN TOWN ITS SOOOO GOOD (better than Hattie b's). xoxoxoxoxooxoxoxo Love ya more than sushii

Miller A.

Yelp
We enjoyed a light early Thursday evening dinner with three different specialty rolls: Out of Control, Shaggy Dog and Zombie. Wanted to try something different than the normal as you might guess from the names. All 3 were very good; couldn't decide whether shaggy dog or OOC was my favorite! Staff was very friendly and service quick (though evening rush was just starting)

Yelp
I've been passing by for a bit and I'm glad I finally ate here! It's a nice vibe in there, the decor is cute and the service was great. I ordered the Viagra roll, takoyaki and pork ramen. The food came out quick and oh my goodness the takoyaki and ramen were so yummy; the sushi did its job lol. I've always wanted to try takoyaki but haven't been to a restaurant with and they did NOT disappoint! I'll definitely be back
google avatar

Yelp
The sushi restaurant near my home closed so I have been DESPERATE to find a new one. Thank goodness for I Love Sushi! Their sushi is delicious. Their location is awesome. The presentation is gorgeous. I placed a large order and was pleasantly surprised to see how they made two lovely platters for me. The name didn't grab me... and I wasn't sure if this would be a "serious" sushi spot. But it is and more! The service is friendly and welcoming. Parking in the attached garage. Or there are a few spots right out front if you get lucky.
google avatar

Beatriz C.

Yelp
When you're from California. I Love Sushi. Was extremely affordable!!! The price for the amount and quality was unmatched!!!!
google avatar

Tori G.

Yelp
I Love Sushi is one of my go-to places for sushi in Nashville that I know will be consistently good every time. Although it's a little more expensive than the average place, their fish is fresh, service is great, and they have options for everyone (not just a bunch of shrimp tempura/spicy tuna rolls... not that there's anything wrong with that, just not my thing). Sushi is my favorite food, and I've tried A TON of places, so I'm a bit picky. I recommend the salmon lovers roll and rainbow Naruto roll!
google avatar

Kramer R.

Yelp
Starting with the hostess, continuing with Sam, my wonderful server, every second of tonight has been "on". Draft Kirin. Ginger salad (what value) to start, not complicated, good flavor. Five fried oysters perfectly prepared with the right sauce. Unagi, bam! (Haha, never wrote that before) And a special tuna roll w jalepeños rounded out the savory. Red bean and vanilla mochi to finish. I'm sated. All for under $50. Sat outside surrounded by the Vandy crews. Lovely evening.
google avatar

Wendell M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and great sushi! The experience was AMAZING! The "O" roll and Pink Pleasure Roll are to die for! The Viagra roll was great, but we are not the biggest fans of cream cheese on a sushi roll. Outside of that, the viagra roll was actually delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service.

Yelp
10/10 the sushi was fresh the service was great our server Allie was exceptional can't wait to be back
