"Situated amid the streets of the old town, this restaurant boasts an intimate dining room and a pleasant outdoor space with a corner where guests can watch the appetisers being prepared. Chef Tony Lo Coco showcases Sicilian flavours and ingredients (meat and fish alike) which he transforms into personalised and imaginative dishes. His recipes often reinterpret great Sicilian classics, as is the case with his swordfish involtini where the traditional whipped filling is replaced by a cream on which the fish is placed and surrounded by ginger foam, or the famous cassata which he transforms into a transparent bubble in which all the different ingredients are then arranged. Elegant and professional service adds to the enjoyment of the experience." - Michelin Inspector

Chef Tony Lo Coco welcomed Tucci into his Michelin star restaurant for his take on the Sicilian classic spaghetti alla bottarga. "The core, the soul of your restaurant," Tucci said to the chef, "is taking the really simple food of Sicily, and elevating it."

Everything was remarkable. Our testing menu included 10 dishes and took over three hours, so make sure you allow plenty of time to fully experience this restaurant. For someone who grew up in Sicily it was a pleasure to taste so many flavours that reminded me of my childhood and of typical dishes that are made in completely different and creative way. Friendly service. Would definitely go back 😊

Truly amazing experience! Everything was thought through - even down to the waitors' clothes matching the interior. We had the traditional tasting experience, presenting Sicilian classics but in a new way; either served in a completely different, interesting way (e.g. in the shape of Sicily) or using other ingredients but matching the original, intended taste. Fully deserving the Michelin star - and to a much more affordable price (compared to danish prices).

One of the best meals we had in Sicily! Raised the bar on the local ingredients where every dish had the right level of creativity without sacrificing flavor. Service was impeccable. The chef decides on the dishes to serve you but when I saw one of the dishes another table had I was very jealous. I mentioned it to the server and they ended up serving me that too! The best dish was definitely their version of a bruschetta. Just wow.

The food was a very interesting interpretation of the traditional dishes BUT the LoCATION is EMBARRASSING!!!One of the reasons why I booked this restaurant was the description of the location mentioned also on Michelin guide as a Palazzo from the 18th century, but the restaurant is in an anonymous depressing room absolutely detached from the Palazzo that you don’t even get the chance to see. Really a shame! Furthermore, the dining room was extremely noisy for a Michelin-starred restaurant. Sound-absorbing panels should be a given.

Creative dishes with a modern twist on Sicilian classics. Extensive wine list with knowledgeable sommelier, attentive wait staff and overall a good fine dining experience! We dined for around 3 hours, left feeling satisfied and very full! Definitely a great way to spend our last night in Sicily! Very pricey but nonetheless an experience in itself.

This restaurant is something very special. The combination of traditional Sicilian dishes with a modern touch creates an amazing flavour palette. Definitely worth the visit if you visit Sicily. The entire staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Oh Stanley Tucci, you beautiful man, you. We never would have thought to venture out to Bagheria (an hour from our hotel in Cefalu) had it not been for Tucci featuring I Pupi on his "Searching For Italy" program. Leading up to our reservation (make sure to get one) at I Pupi, we began to wonder if it was really worth the Michelin star pricing. Were we going to regret spending the money? Well, the answer was a resounding "NO." Every bite at I Pupi was a delight. We were there for three hours and would have happily stayed for another hour. The service was the best I have ever experienced. The servers were so attentive and knowledgable about every single aspect of the dishes: where ingredients came from, the Sicilian connection to food, etc. We honestly felt like we learned a lot! I can't even tell you exactly what we ate, but it was all so, so yummy! If you're thinking about splurging on a meal while in Sicily, let it be this... and make sure to get one of the tasting menus!

Thank you Stanley Tucci for visiting this restaurant in your series ‘Searching for Italy’. The food is divine, the mixture of modern & old sicilian with an innovative twist… the flavours & texture are stunning. Wild pig & lobster! Say no more! The four of us had the 7 course degustation menu & a couple of beautiful sicilian chardonnay’s. The staff were super friendly & helpful. We travelled from Cefalu just to experience this restaurant & it did not disappoint. Highly recommend, book in advance.

Yelp
Hands down the best restaurant in/near the Palermo area. A creative celebration of Sicilian cuisine in a unique setting. Chef Tony is a star and his name will likely show up on the 50 Best list soon. We also loved sommelier Andrea who brings to bear his past experience as a mixologist to create a unique wine pairing to the tasting menu. Could not recommend this place more.
