Head to These 10 Neighborhood Bars for the Holidays | Eater Denver

"This sprawling Berkeley beer garden and tavern provides fireside nooks for intimate conversations, and bocce, ping-pong, and cornhole for the rest of them. Check ahead for live nightly bands and weekly (Thursdays) karaoke." - Josie Sexton

To keep it short was severely injured because of the contractor’s negligence and the union didn’t represent me. Employers were allowed to not contribute to benefits. Union only cared about dues and when I paid them to zero. Was told they needed to look into back working dues despite me not actually working. They came up with 7500$. I felt like they’re just trying to push me out because I was injured. There’s a lot more to this story but mostly just want people to know not to buy into there whole being there for you when you’re injured speech. Got a TBI, broken neck, back, and calls from the dues department. Also pretty sure I lost my career Pros Pay and benefits were good when I was useful to them Also got to work with some really good dudes.

Why did the union change a title “foreman” to a “foreperson” or from “journeyman” to “journeyperson” Supporting they/them pronouns. It’s ridiculous, never going back.

Overall, pretty good. Have had some problems with dues

I'm non-union and come here for my continuing education hours. The instructors are very knowledgeable and break things down to real-life situations and explain the lessons very well.

This facility is brand new with class rooms and office space with a bank attached to where you will get an account for your vacation and union dues. I have been a member for 3 years and my family of 6 has been well taken care of.

Proud Union Member and the hall provides many opportunities for us members and those who wish to be members.

I have been in local 46 for 43 and it's been a great ride. There are ups and downs being a Electrican and the union is a big help to help you through the hills and valleys. The piece of mind of having great medical, dental and retirement makes raising a family ( 6 dependents in my case) less of a burden. The continuing education for little or no cost is great and keeps us on top of changes in the trade. I am retired now and make enough income we can enjoy the free time and not worry. IBEW has had my back through sick and poor, bad employers,L and I problems and the other things life and work throw at you. If you want to sit in a chair with no challenges the rest of your life this job is not for you.

Yelp
This place is good if you already have your 01 or 02 license. They promise the world and never deliver. Its a form of racketeering in modern day living. Also , if you are an attractive female , you can get an interview immediately that other candidates have waited months for , sometimes years. But as long as you are an attractive female you can get your 01 card in just a few months that legally takes 4 years total.

Yelp
I disagree with the below reviewer. First, its a good place if you have your liscense because that is what it is for-to represent the 'journeyman'. It is not for training, and yet they also offer a separate division where you can get trained for your license, called the JATC. Therefore the below reviewer seems to be misinformed. Most Unions just don't take in any unliscensed individuals. Also, I happened to be an 'attractive' female applying for the program when I started. I had to try twice to get into the JATC for the training, but with effort, I got in. I am now retired and drawing a great pension. I am so grateful they have delivered everything promised and just in my opinion then some. The help I received at the Union Hall to apply for my retirement benefits was stellar. I don't know what I would have done without this program. It provided me with great training and a great career. You will only have trouble if you try to cut corners or not apply yourself diligently. (like try to get in 'without' a license!)
