Ice-Burg Drive-In

I had been told about this place by multiple people even though I live over a hundred miles away. When I was in town I knew I had to stop by. It's a classic drive in serving classic drive in fare but executing at the highest level. Burger patties were delicious and all toppings were of the highest quality. The fries were hot and crisp. I chose to add bacon but I wish it had included more than two short pieces. Other than that this place is an absolute winner. In a world of fancy pants craft burgers with exotic toppings and bun choices, it can be nice to just step back in time and have a good old fashioned burger the way they have been making them since the 50's. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Walla Walla.

Stopping by Ice-Burg Drive-In has now become a family tradition when we are in town for taekwondo tournaments. We stopped by last weekend and had burgers, fries and shakes. They were so delicious. We enjoyed them on the drive back to the Tri-Cities. :) Great customer service, very patient with us and all of our orders and specifics.

I was hesitant to try this place based on some reviews but it’s incredible. It is high on my list of best burgers I’ve ever had. The service was also awesome. Super nice employees and the food was fresh and delicious. I would definitely come back again and again!

This place was amazing!! It has a very classic original feel to it and the food was amazing!! The burger was very juicy with a great taste. I was not a huge fan of the sweet relish on it (probably will ask to minus that next time) but that is just because I don't like sweet relish. Even with the relish I destroyed the burger. Their fries were great and the fry sauce, paired nicely with them. The onion rings were good but in my opinion nothing special and could be skipped if on a budget. One of my favorite things was their scotch and soda💗💗 It had that authentic taste that I love! Overall I highly recommend it!!

I went here for the first time tonight and I was very disappointed. First thing I noticed was a young man wiping down the inside of the hood vent from what appeared to be above the griddle area. Then he threw away the paper towel and emptied the fries basket and handed some fries over to somebody else. Then another young lady standing there reached over and flipped a couple of burger patties. From the drive up window this can't be seen thankfully I was 1 car back. When I asked for a receipt the young man scoffed at me for asking and huffed to get it. Kudos on putting up the big menus board hiding everything behind so customers can't see the transparency of the food you prepare. I won't ever order a food product from here again. My shake was good. Very slow service. I watched 4 young men playing around inside while supposed to be working. Bad first impression!

The Ice Burg was an institution when I was growing up but sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. The prices have risen to an unreasonable amount. The food quality remains high and the menu items taste great as usual. We visited on 5/28 and the service we received was horrible. No greeting, acknowledgment or pleasantries. The staff member was so unpleasant it became uncomfortable. I understand bad days and the stressful nature of hospitality but this was over the top and embarrassing. I asked for ketchup and she responded with a visible glare and a hostile amount dropped in front of me. Sorry, I asked for a couple not 25 packets. I left 22 packets and walked away. I hope this was a one off experience.

Second time coming here after it being highly suggested. Food is really good and the people are nice. Only problem is that this is my second time coming here and I already have a wrong order complaint. I ordered a burger, corn dog with mustard and a shake. Do many people dip onion rings in mustard? Maybe, seems weird to me though. Hoping the shake was made with what I ordered. Fingers crossed!

Iceberg Slim was talking about Ice-Burg Drive-In. Talking about delicious burgers and shakes. Talking about burgers so big you don’t need no fries or onion rings. Talking about shakes so thick and delicious you won’t need no soda or water. Talking about how you need to unfast your fast food by heading down to his almost namesake, Ice-Berg Drive-In.

Had already read that that it was a bit of a wait, so we were ready for that. And yes, it was. And that was fine once forewarned! Such a great spot for that drive-in feel, just like the old days, with a drive up window on both sides, and speakers lined up where you can order from your vehicle. We sadly had to pass on the extremely inviting and lengthy list of malt and shake options :( We tried the corn dog which clearly had homemade batter *yum* and the veggie burger was very tasty with plenty of sauce, lettuce, and tomato. The onion rings were scrumptious. Service with a smile. And a chance to experience a blast from the past.

I've been here several times in the past and never once been turned away before closing. Six minutes before closing and I watched them turn down me as well as several other customers. I called and asked about times and immediately got a snarky response of "well we're already close". When I asked to speak to a manager they said they don't have a manager on shift. THAT IS ILLEGAL in the state of Washington. You absolutely need to have somebody supervising to make sure things are being handled properly. Such as closing the store early. Mind you there were people waiting on their orders when we walked up. EXTREMELY disappointing and overall just now how you should run your business... coming from someone in the service industry. They could have made at least an extra $60 to end off the night from the amount of people turned down. Very sad, won't be bringing my business here anymore. Especially after hearing they allow workers to be there with no management supervision.

Here in a Tuesday evening, and service is so slow. Staff is with zero smiles. we waited 30 minutes before arriving to window, And now, 50 minutes later we have our dinner. Bring in my truck was the best part of it!

Save your money, and find a different place to get a burger. This place has gone downhill in recent years. Horrible service the food is pathetic, burnt fries, the bottom of the bag, niblets. My burger was very salty. The patty barely covered half the bun. I had more bun and lettuce than there was meat.I ordered with onions, and tomatoes didn't even get that what they did give was a very big lettuce hamburger.

The food was very good traditional drive in style. Nice presentation and consistent with the other reviews. It was higher price but well worth it. Staff were great and energetic.

I ordered there bacon cheeseburger to go. I drove home about 30 mins away and I see that the napkins they supplied melted stuck to the French fries. Believe I love fresh French fries but maybe they should not put napkins in the bag.

Love this place! Old school drive-thru with a nice vibe! If there's one thing you have to try it's the onion rings. They are hands down the best onion rings I've ever had!

Stopped in at 8:45 just passing through walla walla after a long day of driving. To have them say they're closed, when asking what time do they close I'm told 9?! That's not how that works! Terrible service, terrible management! Especially when the app says it 10 as well as their website!

Ice berg used to be the place to go, but sadly lately customer service and the food itself has gone down hill. Tonight I called in an order and the phone rang and rang and finally an automated voice told me to "Enter your access code." Obviously, I don't have any codes. I tried 4 more times and each time the same thing. On the 6th try, someone answered and I could place my order. While I was picking up my food, I asked the employee with the very long fingernails what the access code was. She said "I don't know, I don't work for the phone company" and rolled her eyes at me. After I composed myself, I said "I called your number and it asked for an access code." She said "I don't know, this isn't something I should know. You'll have to ask the manager." There's no reason for disrespectful service and I probably won't be frequenting Ice Berg again.

Great burgers amazing onion rings and the corn dog was a treat to have. Will visit again next time we are in town.

I loved this place while I lived in walla walla! I never got to try every flavor of shake, but every one I had was magnificent!

Bummed with ice-berg. It's been awhile since Iv been here. And now I remember why. For paying the prices they ask, you don't get much. Food tasted good. But it took almost 30 minutes to get a burger and fries and milkshake. I might as well go to a restaurant. And to top it off my burger was wrong and didn't have bacon when I ordered it. And you can barely hear them through the drive through microphone.

Ordered ahead of time told me the order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived after 15 minutes received my food and then had to wait an additional 20 minutes for some milkshakes over all the food was good. Just not a very well managed.

We stop here every Walla Walla visit - delicious and exactly what you would expect. Yes, the wait times can be rough sometimes BUT it's fresh and incredibly yummy. The shakes are out of this world too. Pretty sure we've tried everything on the menu. We have been Ice Burg lovers for over a decade and will continue to do so!!!

Made fresh to order and so, so fresh! Veggies are crisp and burgers are hot. The perfect mix. Fries are also a plus. Flaky and juicy goodness.

A long wait for a pretty good burger, okay fries, and excellent breaded onion rings. Lot's of shake flavors, but they're pretty expensive. Don't go if you don't have a half hour to wait in line. Note there is almost nowhere to eat but in your car on the way home.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! From other reviewers it sounds like I had the same staff member who was extremely rude, disrespectful, was making weird facial expressions and doing hand gestures when taking our order in the drive thru-enough to make the back staff stand and stare at us. I was not impressed! I walked to the window to pay so I could let her know-long fake nails, long straight hair-that people in their cars CAN see what she is doing and did not appreciate feeling like my 85 yr old mother and I were being made fun of. "I was not making fun of you" her reply. When I went to pick up the food at the window, I did say thank you. She promptly slammed the window shut and walked away. No eye contact whatsoever. From Portland and when visiting family WOULD look forward to coming here. I will not return and not recommend to any friends or family. The items ordered immediately went in the trash. Tasted disgusting. Prices are ridiculous. I hope that the person who owns this establishment reads the feedback and makes some changes.

I always like going to Ice-Burg for a good burger. They add relish to their burger--which I thought was weird when I first tried this place--but you can easily say "no relish" if you don't want it added. Their burgers are a little small in my opinion, especially when compared to Fast Eddy's, but if you're looking for big burgers, this probably isn't your first pick anyway. Still, for the price, I'm a little disappointed at how small their burgers are. It always pushes me to get a large fries instead of a regular-sized fries. Their milkshakes are also YUMMY. You can't go wrong with pretty much any of their flavors! Iceberg also close relatively early. I wish they were open late like In-n-out lol! If you can, order ahead by calling in your order so you don't have to wait as long when you arrive. Overall, this is a good burger place!

Always stop in when I come through town! They have great burgers and shakes... everything is always good.. but, I come for the Scotch and Sodas! This drink is soda water w/butterscotch and 1/2 of a lemon squeezed and dropped in over ice! Many a hot summer day I stopped in after class, working in the fields, or out pleasure driving for a large Scotch and Soda to cool me off! They also have one of the longest shake flavor list you may find! Opening in the 1950's the Ice Berg has been here for many years and a Walla Walla classic! Open daily at 11!

I first ate here in 1963. Little has changed in 58 years; the trees have grown and there is now asphalt instead of gravel and dirt. Growing up my favorite meal here was a cheeseburger, fries and cherry soda, that's what I had today. They were pretty much unchanged from when I was a kid; the cherry flavoring still has bits of maraschino cherries in it! My wife had a bacon cheeseburger and Butterscotch shake. Everything was very tasty. At other classic joints around the country I have had better cheeseburgers, a very few places daily cut fresh skin on fries that set the standard, or a very very few places that use hand dipped hard ice cream in their sodas; but the nostalgia of this tasty food here always makes it a favorite for me.

It's a must stop when we come to Walla Walla. The food is always so fresh. We ordered a large take out order and everything was hot and ready when we got there. Great service!

Cody and I had just finished stopping by a bookstore in downtown Walla Walla and needed a quick bite to eat. When I pulled up Ice-Burg on Yelp and asked Cody if he's been, he was surprised he hadn't taken me yet! the drive thru line was pretty long for a Saturday after lunch hour. So we opted to park and walk up to the window to order. we ordered: - Quickie Dog (aka corn dog) - hamburger - cheeseburger - banana shake - french fries - onion rings First off, extra brownie points for them for having FRY SAUCE! I always love me some extra sauces! The burgers, fries, and onion rings were all delicious and I would definitely order them again! As for the corn dog.... IT WAS AWFUL. I wish I could say it was great but the breading was too thick and not enough crispy. So don't order the corn dog, however tempting it looks. Cute old school drive thru, I'd come back for their burger and fries!

Used to be the best hamburger in Walla Walla it is not as good anymore. Ours were dry and overcooked

Drive thru and walk up are still open. The prices have changed since the last time menu photos were taken. I ordered fries and a garden burger. The fries are some of the best fries that I've had. They typically put relish and pickles in their burgers, and I feel like the relish is overpowering. The cashier asked if I wanted cheese, onion, tomato, and lettuce and I said yes. It seemed like it was all included with the burger, so it was a surprise when I found out the cheese was $0.50 more.

Terrible customer service and under cooked food not even hot and ice cream machine not working. Employees talk over you and speed talk and chew gum and don't listen and mess up orders.

The guy operating the drive through was friendly and helpful. The food is generally pretty good as long as you're fine waiting for it :).

I went to Ice Berg 6/19/2022 for lunch ordered 2 Cheeseburgers with everything a side of onion rings and 2 drinks. The total bill was $25.86, for that I got 1 very burnt patty and 1 patty was burn't all around the edge, buy the time I pulled off all the burned area there was not much left of the meat. They both had been left on the grill way to long, even the cheese on one of the burgers was melted to the point on not being there. That being said those burgers should have gone in the garbage can. I will not eat there again, a big waste of money

My God, get the orange cream shake!!!! This review is based on my one stop. I was visiting from out of town, waited a long time in line, then slurped up the taste of childhood in a cup......daaaang I need another. And for sure, I will be back.

Classic burger, no complaints. Fries, amazing! It's almost like it were fried twice, very crispy yet not burned. Milkshake however was a bit disappointing. Ordered a strawberry & chocolate chip shake, there wasn't much strawberry, flavor or fruit, and the chocolate chips are like for baking, which ended up on the bottom of my cup. If only I took photos of each. Anyway, if back in the area, I will definitely get a burger and fries, and maybe just try another milkshake.

A favorite of local Walla Walla folks--it's been here forever for a reason! Excellent burgers on a toasted bun with chopped lettuce and all the other toppings you'd ever want. Tons of flavors for their fantastic shakes, and outstanding battered French fries. There's often a wait but it's well worth it!

One of the best milkshakes I have had in the contiguous US. We grabbed a strawberry and a huckleberry milkshake. If you have never had huckleberries, you need to! Both shakes were thick and creamy (initially too thick for the provided straws. Thankfully they also provided spoons). The strawberry shake was very sweet with chuncks of strawberry throughout. The huckleberry shake was sweet with patches of slight tartness from the huckleberries. (I preferred this of the strawberry shack, but my spouse preferred strawberry to huckleberry). Any day is a good day for one of their shakes!

Witteraly the best food place W burgers W fries and definitely W Dr Pepper if you go ask for Aiden J. Hickman he's the best man in there.

It's a local thing. Don't compare it to burgers and shakes from other places. It's a local thing. She remembered having this as a kid. It was a treat. It was where the locals went. It's a local thing. That said, get a banana shake. Have a few burgers. Do the local thing. It's pretty good and to think it's just a local thing.

food was good, service was terrible. the girl working the west side window was not very friendly. they forgot 1/4 of my $140 order. when I went back to get the remainder of my food she barley said sorry under her breath after not telling me how much she was crediting me and closed the sliding window. the service was poor at best!

Our hamburger buns were burnt and the fries were a soggy mess, undercooked and we threw them away....that bad!! We are from out of town and we were traveling so there was no going back to have our order redone. A waste of our money.

Shakes in every flavor you can imagine and burgers that make you do a happy dance. The drive through and the counter are best with a few friends so you can goof off while waiting. The only downside is the long wait.

Best drive-in and milkshakes around. Be prepared for a wait, all the food is cooked fresh to order.

Wanted to try their food one day we were in walla walla. It's a small restaurant that's kinda hidden & the one bad thing is their speakers are horrible! Static and hard to understand the person taking my order or even understand when she was repeating it back. Because of this one of my orders was not correct. It is also a long site for them to make your food, longer than I'd expected. I saw they have a large number of Milk shakes, may try this next time. Also be aware that they do no have a kids menu! So don't expect to gets a kids size. We just got a plain burger for my 8 yr old and fries. The burgers and fries were very good. I loved the relish on the burger and tasted very fresh. They have a yummy fry sauce. We will definitely go here again but might get off and order at the walk up window instead. This took away 1 star from me.

Honestly who doesn't love a big fat juicy real beef burger! Iceberg is a great place to get your burger fix. One of the best in Walla.

After all these years still a solid spot to visit. A classic burger with fries. Highly recommend getting all the fixings on the burger and pairing this bad boy with a shake. 4 stars because they forgot the condiments. What do I dip my fries in?

It disappoints me to lower a rating of this iconic drive-in that we have enjoyed for the past 60 years. We don't know what's going in there but the owners need to shape up this place. The employees are socializing and not getting orders out. I believe 1.5 hrs is a little long to get an order. Whatever you do don't use the west entrance window as you will be ignored as we were. I should of known better. I miss the previous owners who take care of business. Whoever owns this business please take care of this.

Great food but the service is so slow it's unbelievable. Took 45 min just to get ONE hamburger. Don't know what they're doing back there, but they are definitely not working. Shouldn't be considered "fast food." Great food though.
