"Most people know the Island House Hotel, located next to the Mackinac Island Yacht Club, for its white tablecloth restaurant, 1852 Grill Room. This grand, glass-walled dining room overlooks Haldimand Bay. But did you know that behind the hotel is one of Mackinac Island’s best kept secrets, Ice House BBQ? Follow the alleyway on the hotel’s west side. You may feel like you’ve made a wrong turn when you get to some maintenance sheds, but keep going down the brick path and you will round a corner to a peaceful oasis of patio umbrellas and outdoor furniture. Order a copper-mugged mule served on draft, grab a slice from the restaurant’s brand new wood-fired pizza oven, and try your hand at a round of bean toss or yard Jenga." - Stacey Brugeman

The atmosphere was very family friendly. The staff were amazing and quick. We sat down for a brief 15-20 minute meal before we had to catch our ferry. This place did not disappoint. Their ribs were so tender, the bbq sauce was just the right amount lathered on top. It wasn't overwhelming. The fries were hot and fresh. The burnt end mac & cheese was maybe the best I've ever had. Maybe I was just hungry but still, this was a great choice stopping by.

Every visit to Mackinac Island feels incomplete without dining here—it’s become an elegant ritual I never skip. I’ve never been tempted to try another restaurant, simply because nothing compares to the experience this place offers. I always order the same exquisite dish: the stone-fired Sweet & Spicy Margarita Pizza, elevated with their signature cheese blend, micro greens and perfectly caramelized onions. It’s a masterpiece of flavor and texture, crafted with precision and care. Their house-made balsamic vinegar and pesto are truly exceptional—rich, vibrant, and artisanal in every sense. We were so impressed, we dined here twice in the same day. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience worth savoring, again and again. What elevates this spot even further is how incredibly pet-friendly it is. My pup was so loved !! The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely accommodating—something that’s hard to find even in the finest establishments.

We ordered the black bean burgers to accommodate our vegan diet, and let me just say—they did not disappoint! My 13-year-old son was so impressed, he said he wanted to send kisses to the chef because it was hands down the best vegan burger he’s ever had. The flavors were on point, and it’s clear the kitchen takes pride in preparing quality food, even for plant-based eaters. However, one concern did stand out. While we were dining, we noticed a tray of food left uncovered, and unfortunately, seagulls began pecking at it. Instead of tossing the food for safety reasons, the staff simply had someone stand near the tray to guard it. That felt like a missed opportunity for stronger food safety practices. Overall, we loved the meal and the atmosphere, but we hope management will take a closer look at how situations like that are handled. We’d definitely come back for those burgers—but with a watchful eye on the birds!

One of the only places on Mackinac Island that is dog friendly. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful. Outdoor brick, oven pizza, propane heater, fairy lights, and lots of umbrellas if you need shade. They even brought out water for our dogs.

Sarah Hannich

Google
We had a wonderful dinner here! We had a dog along, and this garden restaurant is perfectly dog-friendly, and they even offered us a bowl of water for our dog. Food was delicious, very kid-friendly (outdoor corn hole game to play while awaiting food & they do have a kids’ menu), and great service. We made a reservation (might recommend this in case it’s busy), but when we arrived early they got us in right away.

Google
Ate on back patio with our pups and it was the prefect end to the day. Friendly staff, cold beer, and immediate seating. We both ordered the mac and cheese with burnt ends. It was good, but if you put all the meat together vs it being shredded you might have had 1 decent bite. Tasted great, but not much of it.

Google
Food could be better, but was excellent, the service was great, waiters were real nice, and the vibe was beautiful, flowers all around, outdoor pizza kitchen and bags that you can play. My burnt end Mac and Cheese was good, little heavy on the brisket, but my dog helped me out there. Speaking of that, dog friendly, lovely patio kinda nestled in a nook off the road, so you don’t have to hear the hustle and bustle. Overall, glad I came.

Google
Excellent experience. We've been here before and enjoyed the food and service, so we're back again and still like this restaurant. They make a variety of good food, but we like the stone fired pizzas. We got the Smokehouse and the Sweet & Savory and they were delicious. Delaney was super attentive and kept our cups full. She checked in with us just the right number of times. There is a cornhole game to keep the kids occupied and the big pizza oven is out on the patio so you can see your pizza being made. Great experience.

Michael R.

Yelp
Explored this off street hidden gem. Beautiful patio area nestled in the foliage of the Island. Servers were very friendly, and very attentive. We stopped for cocktails and a Pizza. Had the Blanco, White pizza and it was amazing. Cody our server was great and very friendly.

Eric G.

Yelp
Super unsatisfied with their food. Heard great things and been here 1 other time and it was good. This visit was awful. I got a Caesar Salad with brisket, but was missing the dressing and the brisket looked sketchy. My wife got a chopped salad, but wasn't chopped and was missing avocado and chickpeas. It was their 2nd day of the year, but I'm surprised the waiter didn't catch it before it came out. When he asked how it was I said "it's not good", he asked what was wrong so he got me dressing and my wife chickpeas and avocado for her salad. Drinks were fine. Views and atmosphere outside were really cool and off the beaten path. We'd come back one more time to give it a try, but may be the last

Yelp
I ordered $25 fish and chips. Very unappetizing and it did not taste good either. The fish was greasy, soggy and mostly flavorless. The fries were also just average. I ended up only eating half of it and the rest went to the trash. I have had better fish at fast food restaurants.

Sylvia K.

Yelp
Ribs were delicious and bbq sauce tasty. Corn bread moist, sweet and a little spicy. Backyard was peaceful, servers nice Mac and cheese with brisket not good. Tasted a bit like large Kraft Mac and cheese and brisket on top was hard White fish spread had a nice flavor but would like chunks of fish rather than hummus texture.

Shar M.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem within the Island House Hotel. The Pulled Pork, and Brisket are perfectly smoked, tender and lean! I loved their outdoor patio which is surrounded by pretty bushes and flowers. We went back a second time and had drinks and a pizza...it was good also. Both occasions we had excellent service!

Chris W.

Yelp
One our favorite hidden eating spots on the island. The backyard dinning for lunch dinner or a snack is amazing! Drinks are always good and the food is awesome. The service has always been great for us. We have even stayed at the hotel and enjoyed all the amenities. They just added an outdoor wood fire pizza so more to come on that!

Sarah D.

Yelp
Eric was amazing. Great service and food was excellent! Beautiful outdoor seating. Brisket was tender and delicious!

Jen B.

Yelp
Fun, low key ambience with great BBQ and prices! This was a new find this year and we will be back! Tucked away in back of the hotel with lawn games, plenty of gluten free options, amazing BBQ flavor, and refreshing drinks. A new gem off the beaten path for sure

Gaby C.

Yelp
Amazing food, setting, and service. Loved the baby back ribs and spicy black bean burger! The Lucky Irish mule was also refreshing and delicious... wasn't too big of a fan of the app which was the smoked whitefish dip, but will def be back.

Solmaz C.

Yelp
Not too bad of a place to eat if you are on the island. It is located behind the Island House restaurant. They have a beautiful outdoor dining area, very peaceful and serene. The hostess was able to sit our group of 4 almost immediately. They are short staffed so be aware. It seems to be a common issue every where unfortunately. Our waitress was very sweet and personable, gave us recommendations and was on top of things throughout our meal. If you are use to southern bbq, don't expect the Ice House to match it. Don't get me wrong though, the food is still very good.

Rob P.

Yelp
It's a serious workout just getting to this restaurant. It's a 10 minute walk from the dock, and remember there are no taxis or Uber here. Then, you have to climb a steep, lengthy incline to get to the restaurant itself. It feels like I've run the Boston Marathon and this is heartbreak hill. You work up quite an appetite, which I suppose is good, but anyone who has trouble walking is out of luck. There's no way either of our moms could ever go to eat here. But, once you're here, you really do want to stay a while. Besides the idyllic setting, nestled backing up to a forest, this is one of the few remaining places on the island that's still dog friendly. They provide bowls and water for your little critters, which is why we walked all this way. When you go to a place that has BBQ in the name, you expect good barbecue. And, wow, does The Ice House deliver. The beef brisket sandwich was rich, thick, beefy, smoky... everything you want from brisket. Burgers were beefy and lean, but a bit on the cold side. We got pulled pork on top of our nachos, which was nice, except at the pork was a bit dry. But, there was a lot of flavor there. The music was courtesy of the 1990s, which was fine with me. And, the service was casual, but still attentive. The bathroom situation was odd: this is a hotel restaurant, and the facilities are off a swimming pool where guests were swimming. Prices weren't bad, considering that everything on Mackinac Island is inflated. If you have some time to spare, and you don't mind a workout before you eat, this is a great place to go on Mackinac Island.

Sara G.

Yelp
Holy cow...Literally. The ambiance, BBQ, and service was top notch. BEST restaurant on the island! We will definitely be back! I can't recommend this place enough!

Nancy W.

Yelp
Our first trip to Mackinac Island so I enlisted the help of Pinterest. This place was highly recommended and was literally behind our hotel. It was our 1st stop once we hit the island. So glad we did! Everything was delicious!!

Mark L.

Yelp
Fantastic quiet place for a delicious lunch off the beaten path on the Island. We escaped the droves of tourists and enjoyed a great lunch in the outdoor dining room. It felt just like being in a good friends back yard. The fish and chips was epic, great spot for kids with some outdoor yard games and a small lawn to play on.

Angelina H.

Yelp
Pizza was excellent but the fried Brie is what will make me return again & again. Burger with sweet potato fries was also a hit. Restaurant patio was clean & beautifully decorated.

J C.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch; very gardeny spot behind the island house resort. Got a beer; fried Brie cheese and half chicken. Ordered food through the toast app; food arrived quickly. I would the quality was very good. Wait staff was kind and attentive. I want to try more things in the menu; the chicken was smoked and tasted wonderful. Yes; will come back here just for open garden atmosphere; food backed it up!

Jeppy L.

Yelp
This place is tough to score. To start, get a reservation. You can get one a few hours before you eat. We were seated pretty quickly because we had one. There is a lot of outdoor seating here, but as the hostess said it couldn't be used because they had limited servers. This must be a common theme because others have commented about service being slow. Several were turned away or told an hour wait upon arrival. This left them noticeably confused by all the open tables. After being seated, it took awhile to get drinks and order. It helps if you are ready to order everything. I found that each time our server arrived I tried to take advantage asking for anything we might need. I asked for one drink refill the entire meal. It took about 10-15 minutes to get it. Now, I say all this to just prepare all that I think service is typically slow. I felt bad for the server because he was clearly overwhelmed with the amount of tables he had to oversee. On a positive note, the food was pretty good. My wife and I loved the homemade chips and blue cheese dip. The wings were fabulous. Hot and crisp. The ribs were just okay. I think someone else commented that if you are used to southern style BBQ, it is not that. This is true. It reminded me of ribs cooked in a pressure cooker or crock pot. They still came off the bone and sauce was good. My daughter liked the chili too. This was definitely a meal of highs and lows. The peach cobbler was probably the sadness dessert I've ever had at a restaurant. It's super small and had one slice of peach. The rest just bread. The scoop of ice cream on top is basically the dessert. The entire experience took about 2 hours from start to finish. No complaints here because we are on vacation and trying to enjoy relaxing. But, if hoping for quick BBQ, it would not have happened this night. If I'm honest, I have yet to be truly wowed by any restaurant at Mackinaw Island. For this BBQ spot, more servers could make it a total winner. It's a great place for kids and families. Beautiful garden setting as you eat. Several games for kids to play while parents enjoy food or drinks. And frankly, the food was better than a lot of other places here.

Yelp
I thought this place was awesome. I got the fish and chips and it wasn't the normal overly fried fish, had a fresher taste. We started with the white fish appetizer which was very nice. My wife got the black bean burger and again, happy. The service was excellent and outdoor seating offered a peaceful, quiet environment and the server was very accommodating for our two young ones. I recommend Ice house as it is a refuge from the busy downtown and offers same quality.

Stacy Jo Thompson T.

Yelp
Great cozy outdoor experience! Food was great as was service. Also pet friendly so our 4 legged little dude was also happy. Only one of a very few pet friendly restaurants on the island.

Marshall K.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Get the brisket tacos! The outdoor seating area was very nice. Highly recommend!

Dee Z.

Yelp
Was excited for the bbq ribs. They were excellent but my husband wanted brisket and they were out also 5 year old wanted chicken nuggets, again out. They did substitute shredded chicken but the little guy wasn't fond of the smoked taste. All in all the atmosphere was pleasant and our server, Annalise was sweet. Not sure we will return due to menu items not available.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! Fantastic food, the monte cristo is the best I've ever had and the pepperoni pizza had the perfect spice. The service is fantastic, everyone is great! Take the walk up the drive, you won't regret it!

Jason W.

Yelp
Wow we were very pleased with this choice. Lunch was yummy, service was good, & they even have a dish for your dog if you want.... Your little dog loved it.

Micheal V.

Yelp
The outside seating was great for our dog and somewhat off the main strip so it wasn't super busy or loud. Good service which is always a plus. The chopped salad was very good and the nachos were decent. Prices were a little high but that's expected for the area.

Lisa L.

Yelp
I knew nothing about Mackinac Island restaurants before our day trip there, but wanted to make a reservation somewhere to avoid lines. All of the waterfront places were already booked, but this menu looked good so I made an early reservation for four. As soon as we arrived I knew it was a great choice and then it just kept getting better. Mackinac Island is a bustling place in summer and this is a quiet respite in a beautiful garden setting just steps off the main street. The hostess and server were delightful, and the food was excellent. We shared nachos (oustanding!) and whitefish dip, and among us had brisket sandwiches, brisket tacos, and a black bean burger and salad. All excellent. Skip the crowded, noisy restaurants and take a lunch or dinner break here. We felt refreshed and ready to go after our delicious break here.

Tyler F.

Yelp
Customer service through the roof from the manager, Aaron. We had a large party of 22 that was accommodated by the staff at Ice House. About 10 minutes into sitting, the skies opened up for a Michigan rain storm. Aaron and his staff kept everything open and continued with service, despite the rain and crummy conditions. We enjoyed our dinner, and appreciate the staff and management for making it happen despite the weather.

Victoria M.

Yelp
We stayed at the Island House and wanted to try the Ice House BBQ because 1) it was literally behind the hotel and 2) BBQ food enough said. It was a bit confusing on where the entrance was since were coming from the hotel and not the side street alley off the main road. We eventually just asked to be seated and noticed there was seating inside, seating with a covered area, and seating in the backyard on a patio. We were seated in the back of the restaurant/hotel. Love the restaurant's history/few pictures on the menu of workers back in the day getting ice from the straits. The grounds/garden is beautiful with tons of flowers and tranquility. Cornhole was an option to play as well on the side of the patio area. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered a wine (sangria type drink) and it was okay, a bit too sweet but still refreshing. However, it was served in a plastic wine glass - I noticed all the drink glassware were plastic. Being a bit snobby here - but I would've preferred (expected) an actual wine glass than plastic? I get the restaurant is more casual than the 1852 Grill Room but the price for the Ice House...still decently pricey. Food options are not overwhelming but a simple/small/diverse menu. I went with the Smokin' Beef Brisket Tacos - the tacos were served with chips, but no salsa? Meh, plain tortilla chips did not really do it for me. The tacos had excellent flavor - very decadent with the oozy cheese and smoked beef. Portion was a lot as well - I would've been happy with just 2 tacos but 3 tacos are served. My husband got the Going Whole Hog Sandwich which he was pleased with and came with their homemade chips - these were awesome. BBQ was great - one of the better places for BBQ I have had. A table next to us had two dogs hanging out on the ground/patio, so looks like the back patio area is at least doggie friendly? Our lunch was relaxing - put your feet up type of vibe, good food, and beautiful garden.

Karen W.

Yelp
Ice House is a hidden Gem that you'd never know was there. Hidden in the backyard of a hotel, it's a little slice of paradise. The vibe is relaxed and fun with yard games and cozy lounge chairs. The flowers surrounding the patio are stunning and theres plenty of shade for a hot day. The menu is small but has something for all BBQ fans out there. I had the pulled pork and it was very good and I parti7enjoyed the baked beans and the mustard BBQ sauce. My fiance had the burger and he said it was the best he had in awhile.

Bear G.

Yelp
If this place was in a BBQ town such as KC or Memphis it would be out of business in a matter of hours. Ordered pulled pork nachos: guacamole was from a frozen bag, cheese sauce ditto, salsa from a can, unripe tomatos (like every restaurant now) dried out pulled pork, Server was great though.

Michael P.

Yelp
Nothing was bad about the meal but nothing was special or memorable. Ribs were somewhat chewy and not a lot of flavor. BBQ sauce was decent. Cornbread was rather bland and mac and cheese was on par with kraft out of the box. Blackbean burger was ok but once again, lacked the seasoning and texture to really make it different. Service was good and the outdoor back patio was nice. Not a bad place to eat but next time I am on the island I doubt I will be back.

Barbara D.

Yelp
we had a great lunch here today. i enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich. not overly sauced so you could taste the pork. the service was quite slow, but we really didn't mind waiting because it was a very pleasant outdoor dining spot. located at the island house hotel, it's just a few buildings past the park.

Amy C.

Yelp
The atmosphere was terrific. Service was good. The burger was pretty standard, nothing special. The kids mac & cheese was boxed craft with a sprinkle of cheese on top. The house made chips though... I wish I would have gotten some to go. They were astounding and I don't even like chips. I couldn't stop eating them.

KD S.

Yelp
We stayed at the Island House Hotel, so this restaurant was very convenient. We had no reservations and showed up at 7 on a Saturday night. We were seated right away. It was a perfect evening for dining outdoor, and it was a beautiful environment. My 4-year-old doesn't like waiting before or after the meal - they had a big Jenga set in the gazebo, so he used it as building blocks. Everyone was happy! There is no bar, which is a bit of a bummer. But they had canned cocktails that weren't bad. We all shared the ribs and they were delicious!!! The fries weren't our favorite, but we're picky. The service was great. Maybe it was better because we weren't constantly interrupted with "when will our food be here?" or "can we go now?" So refreshing! Our server checked on us frequently, but wasn't intrusive. Overall, a really good experience!!

Darla W.

Yelp
Amazing food. Fun, relaxed atmosphere. Brisket sandwich was really good. Great service. Highly recommend.

Brian L.

Yelp
5 star setting. Beautiful and peaceful with an outdoor patio. Food was pretty good and decent prices for the island. We were so glad to end our trip here with some good food and relaxation.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Hands down the best BBQ! Ribs had great flavor and perfect texture. Chicken was fall off the bone tender. Pulled pork was amazing as well!

Brian S.

Yelp
Ice House is a great hidden gem on the Island! It's tucked behind the hotel with only a very small sign out front, so it's easy to miss. It really shines for happy hour for those that don't mind an occasional cheap domestic beer in the form of Hamms...AND Hamms served in a 100oz draft beer tower for $12 at that! Food is standard BBQ fare; that is well done from my sampling of the menu. Nothing truly exceptional to date, but well cooked and flavorful. That is still saying something on Mackinac Island; where a given meals portion and execution routinely change from day-to-day. They have some corn hole boards setup out back and great covered patio for those looking to be outside, but not in the sun. All-in-all a great lunch or happy hour spot to check out.

Ronald M.

Yelp
This place was attached to our hotel and we heard it was OKAY. It was not good at all. We both ordered the gumbo and I watched the gumbo separate in my bowl and it tasted funky too. My wife did not have this trouble, they did replace my meal with chili that was better than gumbo but not worth ever going back for. Try the Chuckwagon next and you should not be disappointed. The garden area is very nice to look at and enjoyed the Lilac brushes and smells, this was the only reason we came to the Island. Now they contact for a better review, I did state the chili was not great. If I pay for a meal out I want it to be great!!!

Curtis B.

Yelp
The setting for Icehouse barbecue is pretty nice. They have some nice distractions for the kids (jenga, cornhole, etc.) and good music selections. Even the 'can't move tables' thing isn't too big of a deal when you accept it and plan accordingly. It's also great to find a BBQ place that accommodates (or even thinks of!) the non-meat eaters in your party. Unfortunately, the goods sort of stop there? The food was pretty sad. The meat was a little lifeless. The salads were 99% lettuce. The barbecue sauce might as well have been bottled (may have been bottled?) Anyway, I'd advise you to skip this one in favor of some other options on the island.

Ann M.

Yelp
We ate there today for lunch. Big disappointment. We didn't have anything from the BBQ menu, I heard that was good. We had Nachos, no meat extra cheese. The burger with a fried egg, white fish dip and summer salad, two martinis and one Arnold Palmer. The nachos were sent back for the extra cheese, the chips were stale and soggy, the Pico was past it's prime. They added extra cheese to the original batch of nachos. The burgers' fried egg, was raw. It wasn't over easy like they are saying, and if a manager reviewed that burger before it got served and determined it was acceptable to be served, that isn't good. I am not kidding, it looked like the egg was cracked over the burger and the heat from the patty cooked the egg a little. The translucent egg white was all over, it wasn't cooked. Health hazard!!! The fish dip was runny, which means they are adding water to stretch it. The salad looked good but was dry (we didn't say anything because we were starting to sound like a broken record.) The two Martini's had stuff floating, could have been mint, but it was brown. Maybe bad mint (again didn't say anything.) The meal cost $155 with tip and we are still hungry. It was awful! I did hear the BBQ was good. Ordering and paying from out phone takes out the human connection. We missed and could have used that. Ann M

Yelp
This place was amazing! It's quiet and relaxing since it's a bit away from the main road. The outside patio has plenty of seating and they're dog friendly (which is hard to find). They even bring a bowl of water for your dog. Our food was absolutely delicious. The pulled pork sandwich was one of the best I've had in a long time. Bottom line - this place is amazing! We most definitely will return.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Food was 5 out of 10. My Qbowl was pretty pathetic. Minimal smoked chicken thrown on iceberg lettuce. Toddler craft make and cheese. Kids burger was good. My husbands pork sandwich was a 6.5 out of 10. Fries were fantastic. Service was ok. Not in a rush to go back.

David M.

Yelp
What an oasis of peace and quiet behind Island House Hotel. The beer selection is excellent, Michigan beers on tap. The service, our server was James, was outstanding. Never wanting for anything, great service from the whole team. The food. Onion rings, crispy and fresh stacked high. Whitefish dip! Crackers and pillowy naan mini breads. Used my finger to wipe out the bowl it was that good. Pulled pork, ribs, kettle chips, cornbread and coleslaw accompanied our dinners. All cooked and served to a high standard. This is in our opinion is a must visit. A hidden gem, that could become your go to, it will be for us on return visits.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Do not eat at this place if you have any more than 4 in your party and would like to talk to additional party members. Made a reservation for 12 and were given 3 tables widely separated. They said when we made a reservation they could "accommodate" a party of 12....beware you get separate tables... what a crock..manager was no help...Buyer beware!!!!!

L S.

Yelp
We ate here twice for lunch in late July (I'm celiac). The first time I had the brisket, excluding any cornbread. The second time I had the BBQ combo, which included brisket, chicken, and pulled pork. Both meals were delicious and I felt comfortable that they took my allergy concerns seriously. The waitress made a specific note about my celiac and reassured me that they handle people with allergies all the time. As things went so well the first time, I went back again the next day.

Ditka T.

Yelp
We are staying at Island House Hotel during the state covid restrictions so we were going to go to restaurant close to the hotel. To start off I would like to give a true review but being that we didn't actually get served food or drinks here it's a bit difficult to give the restaurant a fair shake. We arrived, host greeted us and apologized to us they were under staffed and limited on seating since the state covid regulations and it could be a while. We said we understood and asked him to put our name on list, we were asked to wait near by so they could find us. We waited just outside the entrance watching previous groups get called in and 45 minutes to hour later we realized that a couple that arrived after us had been seated. That's when I asked about our being passed by. The host apologized claiming that he had called our name and didn't see us??? He apologized then but did seat us right away at this time. After being seated, again we noticed we were being passed by yet again by the servers, others around us getting drinks there orders etc. ,seated after we had. After this at least 30-45 minutes and over hearing they were out of brisket, which is what we intended to order, The host did come to our table and apologize again that we had not been served. We told him we understood that they were under staffed because of the covid restrictions but being we weren't being served and they were out of brisket that we intended to order, we were going to leave. So a not a true review. Host was trying. Staff was busy. Given the venue just outside our island house hotel and the prices we expected better much better. But we just didn't have a good experience.

Spencer P.

Yelp
Mackinaw has such a strange relationship with me. Beautiful island with picturesque views wherever you look. The food, however.... You are stuck on and island and it's their terms. Ice house had potential a I get it is COVID times but yikes! Like terrible. Called to place an order and was on the line for 20 minutes. I was staying at the Island House so I walked to the restaurant on hold and went to the bar where I saw the phone laying on the counter with me on hold. Just kinda waited to see what would happened and finally got the attention of the bar/restaurant/manager/host and told him I was the one on hold. I would like to place an order. Long story long, waited 20 more minutes for mediocre food that was pretty overpriced. My suggestion, go to the Grand Hotel. You pay but it's worth what you pay and you don't have to stay on the phone for 20 minutes. I hope you get it better next time Icehouse!

Corey F.

Yelp
2nd time on the island and first time going, this place was great. My girlfriend and I struggled pretty heavily to find a place that would allow dogs, eventually asking the info booth and they pointed us to them. The place was so quiet, very relaxing and looked amazing. The staff was incredibly amazing and kind. Understood very well that my dog was afraid of people so they did not bother her too much, but they were very kind to bring her some water. While I got the normal burger (onions, bacon, cheese) which was absolutely amazing, my girlfriend got the ribs and they were fall of the bone. They come with no sauce but they have 2 on the table and bother are great. She went with the sweet one. Anyone visiting the island, especially with a dog, should visit this place. I'll go back when i visit again.

Yelp
My family had an amazing dinner at Ice House BBQ. We did have reservations and were seated promptly upon our arrival. The food was great! Our server Lily was amazing, so kind and attentive!!!! We will definitely return to this hidden gem on the island!!

Yelp
This place was fantastic, they were all booked up with reservations and made space for me and my dog. After being seated I sat and waited for a server to greet me for almost 20 minutes, but once one of the waitresses realized I hadn't been help she was so attentive and congenial. She got me taken care of and my food and drinks took less than ten minutes to get to the table, it could have been ~5 minutes it was so quick! I didn't think to check the time as I was so hungry after biking the island with my dog. This place is dog friendly and the waitress brought out water for my dog (I wish I remembered her name but I didn't grab it). I got the tacos and they were some of the best I have had in a while, and I live in Los Angeles. Go here, you won't be disappointed!
