Google
Ethiopian pizza, good flavor, nice crust, very friendly and helpful. It’s small and tight in there but was a great experience. Looks like they have lots of outside seating but since it was super cold we sat in the limited inside seating. Iced tea was delicious, too.

Google
Actually some of the best pizza I’ve ever had in my entire life. The flavor combos were incredible, and the side sauces were so so good. The green sauce is always amazing, but the spicy honey was a top tier edition. And as always, just the most delightful and lovely family that runs this place. Will be ordering again in the near future

Google
Tried Ice 'n Slice for the first time today and absolutely loved the pizza! We got half letigab and half merkato and it was all delicious. Super friendly staff as well. Will definitely go back!

Google
Incredibly delish! Got the veggie injera wrap, out of this world. Got 1/2 Doro wat and 1/2 mixed veggie and it was superb as well. Definitely coming back 😁

Google
Ben, the owner, was incredibly kind and gave us special attention for our order. We ate delicious spicy mitmita fries (with the special sauce on the side!) with very flavorful lentil sambusas and fresh chocolate fudge cake to top it all off. The fries were incredibly crispy and paired so well with their seasoning and sauce, and the sambusas and chocolate cake were top notch. Can’t wait to come back!!

Google
The food was delicious. We had the friendliest server and the best pizza ever. We ordered the doro wat pizza and let me say FANTASTIC!!!! There were literal chicken wings on our pizza 🍕. And at the end of all of this they gave us a free chocolate cake! Ps the banana pudding milkshake was FIRE 🔥 DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND EAT HERE!!!!

Google
Ice n’ Slice is hands-down my favorite neighborhood spot! For anything from Ethiopian pizza to milkshakes to the best green sauce 🌶️ everything is delicious, and the owners make everyone feel like they’re part of the family. Very grateful for my strong Ethiopian coffee and a little extra gift from the owner Ben today

Google
I had the pleasure of visiting ice n slice , and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I tried vegetarian pizza. The authentic Ethiopian flavors were rich, vibrant, and satisfying in every bite The friendly service, bold and flavorful food, and a creative twist on pizza that sets this place apart. A must try for food lovers looking for something unique and delicious!” I truly felt taken care of throughout my visit. I’ll definitely be returning for my go-to Ethiopian food spot, and I highly recommend ice nd slice Eatery to anyone looking for bold ethiopian flavors and top-notch hospitality. You won’t be disappointed!

Yelp
We ordered the pizza half doro wat and half vegetarian. They brought us two sauces too - one is a thick sweet but spicy sauce and the other is an herbal spicy sauce. Both flavors on the pizza were delicious!!!! Then you put both sauces on either slice . It was incredible! The inside is very small but they have a whole patio with table when it's nice outside. Unfortunately it was raining when we came so we sat inside. Luckily it wasn't crowded.

Yelp
I got takeout from Ice N Slice and was blown away by how amazing the pizza tasted. We ordered the Addis Ababa Vegetarian Pizza and it was so delicious! I have always loved Ethiopian food and DC had some of the best Ethiopian food and this was no exception. I loved the concept of Ethiopian pizza, the curries on the pizza tasted so good and the dipping sauces provided on the side were so delicious as well. For two people, one pizza is more than enough the portion size is so big that we even had plenty of leftovers. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and will definitely order this again.

Yelp
Been trying to get here forever, since I love their first place that's lower on Georgia ave- Heat Da Spot. We ordered pick up on a Wednesday night..the order was ready quickly. I can't speak to the pick up process, since my dining partner picked up the pizza for us but I assume the staff was lovely, they are stupendous at Heat Da Spot! I was surprised that they have vegan cheese!! I'm sure a pizza with the real stuff is a lot better but I want to live. We got the Letigab Kifto pizza. I was a bit saddened that it was mostly meat and a scant amount of any of the veggies listed on the menu or shown in other's orders of the same dish. It was flavorful and I enjoyed the sides of honey and spicy green sauce. I feel bad giving low marks but it was lacking. Maybe another pizza would be more robust. I'll try again with another pizza sometime.

Yelp
Okay yes. On my way to what I thought was my last dodgeball game (long story), I knew that once it ended that Ice N Slice would be closed, so I decided to head into town a little early and finally try them out. It was not a long walk from the metro -- maybe 5 minutes. You can see a sign right on the corner of Georgia Ave, but you have to walk around to the main entrance. So you order outside, and there are a bunch of tables and menus to look at. There they were... big pictures of the Ethiopian pizzas I so wanted to try. Given the name, I was hoping I would be able to grab pizza by the slice, but I was limited to whole ones... but YOLO! After hearing the descriptions of each one from the lovely staff, I decided to get half Addis Ababa (veggie) and half spicy beef. It was ready in about 15 minutes and I couldn't help but take a slice as soon as I got the box. So I opened it, it was PIPING hot. And I was surprised to see small ramekins inside the box... there was honey and a green sauce (not sure what it was, I didn't ask... but it was yummy). The spicy beef was really REALLY spicy. I was quite pleased, but whew it is definitely not for the faint of heart! Once I got to my other destination I tried the veggie, which was a nice cooler option... but the flavor of the lentils, chickpeas, spinach and more really set it off! I kind of expected the crust to have some wild injera spin on it, but it was just a standard crust -- it was still delicious, don't get me wrong! This was definitely a novelty pizza that I would gladly have again. I'd love to try their ice cream flavors and other options on the menu as well! Ethiopian wraps sound like a winner too. I'll be back!

Yelp
I absolutely adore unique finds, and this is definitely a gem in its own right. Ethiopian pizza? Say no more!! I couldn't choose between Doro Wat and Merkato, so I got half and half. Neither one disappointed! It's the best pizza I've had in awhile. Even the crust is unique, and you're gonna want some more of that green sauce, so gon'head and get yourself a lil' extra. That's all I'm gonna say about it because everyone needs to try how incredible it is for themselves. It's a walk-up and order type of establishment with outdoor seating. They were so unbelievably kind and accommodating, too! It was raining the day I went (September 9, 2023), so they let me wait inside and sip some hot tea. Good food, good people - who could ask for more? Their menu is quite overwhelming in the best way possible, so I can't wait to return and try their other menu items.

Yelp
Came by on a whim and ended up having a great lunch. They are located conveniently on Georgia avenue. Ordered the letigab pizza it has ground beef, feta and spinach. The crust is thin and the pizza came out HOT! y'all. This pizza was so good! They have a secret sauce that's a little spicy as well as honey for drizzle. So delicious! We can't wait to come back. To try a different pizza and some ice cream The staff is so friendly and attentive. Outside seating only. There are umbrellas for shade and many seats and tables. Parking can be tricky!

Yelp
No better place to get Ethiopian pizza than here!!! The decor is a bit chaotic and overwhelming with pictures and words, but it's honestly kinda camp LOL Graphic designers would cry looking at this place. Currently it's take-out only, but plenty of outdoor seating at the patio! The cashier was extremely nice and helpful with her suggestions. We got half Doro Wat (chicken stew + boiled eggs) and half Addis Ababa (veggie). Both had generous portion of toppings and were soooo flavorful. The Doro Wat came with honey on the side while the Addis Ababa came with a spicy green herb sauce on the side! I feel like one pizza can easily fill up 3-4 people since it's SO BIG. So worth the price!!

Yelp
Very cool place! Was very intrigued by the thought of Ethiopian pizza and of course love the folks behind Heat Da Spot and want to support them in everything they do. We ordered 2 pizzas: the Merkato and the Doro Wat. I liked the Merkato best of the two (the doro wat had chicken on the bone which is a little complicated to eat on top of pizza). The flavor of both was top notch and I'd definitely come back to try more of their specialty pizzas!

Yelp
All I have to say is try their Addis Abba pizza! You will not be disappointed the pizza is large enough for at least 2-3 people and fairly priced for the beautiful rich taste and ingredients. It came with lentils, cabbage, collard greens, and feta cheese on top. Definitely not typical of a standard pizza of course but they complemented each other ver well. How they thought to merge pizza and Ethiopian food is genius. Totally worth the experience. I ordered through Uber eats and it came hot and ready! I also loved the honey and green sauce that accompanied the pizza. The green sauce had a nice kick to it and added to the burst of flavors. I appreciate that Ice n Slice caters to vegans, vegetarians, and meat lovers. I absolutely can't wait to try their other options like the Doro wat and merkato pizza. I don't think I can order pizza from any other place now!
google avatar

Kenneth K.

Yelp
Ice N Slice is amazing! They have large Ethiopian pizzas that we loved. We had a Merkato Pizza, two hand crafted sodas, and two milkshakes. The service is extremely friendly and they are outdoors and take out only but have table service outside when weather permitting. The outdoor table service was great on a Thursday evening in February with perfect weather. We look forward to returning!

Yelp
I honestly enjoy food all the time but I'm disappointed one time I had an unpleasant experience with an older guy that worked there. I couldn't find something I thought I left and he was pretty rude and making unnecessary comments. I feel like he wouldn't treat all customers like that but he talked to me like that.

Mikael M.

Yelp
Doro wot pizza tibs pizza able to do 1/2 and 1/2. A little expensive but hey I get it it's doro wot pizza

Yelp
So delightful! This place is owned by the same folks who own Heat Da Spot and it is equally fantastic. All of the food we had was SO good--highly recommend both the spiced fries and the sambusas. The veggie pizza is an awesome fusion dish, with everything from an Ethiopian veggie platter piled onto a pizza with sauce. You also must try their special sauce as well, it's mildly spicy and delicious. The atmosphere is casual, you order outside at their takeout window and can take your food to go or sit on their patio outdoor seating. Above all, the service is incredible. Unbelievably friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We will be back!

Yelp
From the owners of beloved Heat Da Spot further down Georgia Avenue N.W. comes Ice N Slice, a takeout only food and ice cream shop. My five-year-old daughter and I went right then they opened at 11:30 a.m. on an August Friday. With a short wait, we ordered an ice cream for each of us. Here's our experience: 1) Ice cream: They have around a dozen flavors from a Philadelphia-based ice cream company that started in 1861. Behind the glass of ice cream is a row of toppings from sprinkles to cereal. My five-year-old daughter ordered the strawberry ice cream with sprinkles in a sugar cone and I had a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough in a cup. The ice cream was decent. The best in the city? Absolutely not, but not bad. 2) Service: It's always so great! They are kind, efficient, and treat you like family. 3) Space: There's an outdoor patio with several tables. They also sell breakfast sandwiches, pizza, and a few other food items. There's street parking nearby.

Yelp
This new Ethiopian fusion spot from the owners of Heat Da Spot has something for everyone! We tried two of their Ethiopian pizzas - the Letigab and Addis Ababa. The pizzas have a traditional Italian-style pizza crust, sauce, and cheese, but with delicious Ethiopian toppings. I especially loved the lentils and chickpeas on the Addis Ababa. The combination of Ethiopian and Italian flavors and textures is hard to describe, but we adored it. They also offer ice cream, which they let us sample. The coffee flavor was really great! They also have breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, and coffee. Right now it's an entirely outdoor experience - you order at a window on Shepherd and either eat and the outdoor tables or take it to go. Definitely go check out this brand new business!

Meghan B.

Yelp
The best pizza place in DC! The pizza is chocked full of delicious Ethiopian toppings and has an assortment of sauces to add (huge fan of spicy honey) for a very reasonable amount of money. One of my favorite restaurants!!!!!
google avatar

Kirsy B.

Yelp
Delicious. We loved the combo of Ethiopian and pizza. Friendly service. Hard to drive home without eating it!

Yelp
Delicious food! Their Spicy Honey and Secret sauce were so good, and you can buy it by the bottle. Great service as well

Yelp
Wow! Great Ethiopian pizza, we ordered from Ice N Slice the other day and it was fantastic. We pretty much got all the unique pizzas to try and they gave us a free pizza! The pizza had lots of flavor and it was perfectly charred. Definitely will be coming back and trying out their other items! They give you honey and their secret green sauce, which enhanced the flavors.

Luam R.

Yelp
I loved everything we got. The hospitality was on point. Me and my sisters felt like we were right at home. The people are so niceeee. We got the Merkato Pizza, the doro wot pizza and the letigab pizza and everything was so BOMB!!!! They gave us a customer curtesy starters sambusa and some bread with honey and Mitmita spice it was sooo good. The whole experience was amazing!! Deserves 5 stars
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
Just went to Ice N Slice for the first time and their letigab pizza was phenomenal! So satisfied! My partner and I couldn't finish the whole thing so we're excited to have the leftovers tomorrow. The team at Ice N Slice were so welcoming and kind too. It felt like home. I can't wait to go back and try more of their food. Those wraps look pretty dang good and they have all kinds of breakfast food, coffee, and ice cream too!
google avatar

Jessie D.

Yelp
DELICIOUS, UNIQUE pizza - walked by this place a bunch of times thinking it was just a generic pizza place. It is not!! The most delicious and flavorful toppings. I got the Addis Ababa, vegetarian pie - so many veggies on the pizza with lentils + potato as well. Wonderfully spiced, with a great dipping sauce, and very filling - their regular size is at least three adult meals. They even gave me a free ice cream sample while I waited for my to-go order. I live in the area and will be visiting regularly from now on!
google avatar

Zahira P.

Yelp
I don't think it's possible to love a place more! Amazing food (Addis Abeba - a vegetarian, Ethiopian pizza that the owners gave us two hot sauces with) :)
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Amazing! Ice N Slice has everything you could want for a meal and more. I was THRILLED by the colorful ambiance and the spicy, substantive, and sweet selections. The folks that run the place are so kind and are always leveling up the experience. Would recommend
google avatar

Pinaki S.

Yelp
This joint with only take out or outdoor seating does really three things: A) Breakfast food B) Ice Cream and C) Pizza - Ethiopian Pizza! We got the Doro Wat Pizza and it was kind of incredible (think BBQ Chicken Pizza, ethiopian style). It's basically eating ethiopian food without injera and with added cheese. Check it out!

Sharon B.

Yelp
Really great pizzas and ice cream with amazing customer service. Can't wait to go back and try more items. My first time having Ethiopian pizza and it was delicious!!

Emma F.

Yelp
Incredible service and hospitality from friendly, warm staff. Food was amazing, lots of great vegan options. Really good green sauce.

Tony N.

Yelp
I ordered 3 pizzas (pepperoni, sausage, cheese) and 18 wings (honey garlic). I'd like to start with the pizza. The sauce, toppings, and overall flavor was much better than anticipated. The pizzas would have been great if they would have put less cheese (the cheese was a little overpowering) and it was cooked a little longer. The crust was pretty doughy and under cooked. I put it in the oven when I got home for about 25 minutes at 375 degrees and the pizza was much better but still too cheesy. The wings flavor wise was really nice! The problem was, they were cold when I got home (I live 3 minutes for the restaurant). They could have cooked a little longer to make them crispy. It seems they bake their wings and not fry, which is fine, they just need to cook a little longer. With all that being said, the flavor of the food was really good. They just need to make a few adjustments. The customer service was great! The lady that helped me was super nice and easy to talk to. I'll definitely return, hopefully they make the adjustments.

Elle N.

Yelp
Great food, nice people. We've had the most delicious Ethiopian pizza from here and can't wait to try more of their menu!

Suee G.

Yelp
Love the food and friendly service! We've had to wait a while for the pizzas, especially on the weekends but the taste and quality are great! Would recommend!

Sarah R.

Yelp
The food is incredible and the staff are super nice. Can't wait to come back! Love this place.

Yelp
Great pizza in Ethiopian style (we got Letigab) from our old friends at Heat Da Spot! Love seeing them in this new spot

Logan W.

Yelp
I recently visited this restaurant around late afternoon today. This is my first time here and I heard so many great things so my expectations were high and let me tell you they were met! I purchased the turkey sausage egg cheese (came with white treated bread) and pancake sausage egg cheese. Both were 10/10!! Happy I tried this and can't wait to try the Ethiopian dishes! I forgot to take pictures but I will be returning to try other things on the menu so there will be an update after this.

Lan M.

Yelp
Interesting and tasty Ethiopian pizzas and fantastic service. We got a few veggie pizzas and a few meat pizzas. Good crust and excellent toppings. A great addition to the neighborhood, we will be back!

Kevin H.

Yelp
Very welcoming on a cold evening. Owners gave a hot plate of lentil during the wait. Really appreciate the gesture! Food i order was great as well.

Carla M.

Yelp
Just had an egg, ham, and swiss breakfast sandwich on whole grain. Super tasty and huge!
