Complaint Regarding Fraudulent Activity Following Visit to Icebar on 7/26
I visited Icebar on July 26th with my sister. We had a good time and ordered food and drinks. When it was time to pay, the waitress brought us separate checks, and we each paid for our own tab. However, I noticed something strange when she returned with my receipt—I only received one copy, instead of the usual store copy, customer copy, and itemized receipt. My sister also received her receipt, but the amount didn’t match what she ordered.
We flagged the waitress down to ask about the discrepancy. She casually said that my sister must have paid for my meal, which left both of us confused because we had paid separately.
The next day, I discovered several fraudulent charges on my debit card from unrelated places like restaurants, Lyft, and even PlayStation. After thinking through where I had used my card recently, Icebar was the last location where I my card was used. I immediately contacted the manager to report my concerns and explained that I suspect the waitress may have compromised my card information—possibly by taking it to the back and photographing it… allegedly
To make matters worse, my sister also experienced fraudulent charges on her card the next day. The only common link between both of our cards being used fraudulently is our visit to Icebar and that particular waitress.
This situation has caused a major inconvenience, as I’ve had to cancel my card and wait for a replacement. I’m sharing this not only to report the incident but also to warn others to be cautious when visiting Icebar.
