I’ve tried almost every ramen on the menu, and every single one was delicious — never a disappointment. The sashimi is always fresh, and the plating is beautifully done. Consistently great quality and a place I always look forward to coming back to.

Quaint little place with friendly and courteous staff. Plenty of parking with wheelchair accessible entrance. Their tap water is not good so I definitely recommend you getting a drink- we got the famine Japanese carbonated soft drink - original, strawberry, and melon. I got the Thai ice tea 7/10 and a Diet Coke. The shrimp shumai was good 8/10, the Kani salad 7/10 was good except note that it has wet seaweed so ask to take it out if you're not a fan of it. The tontaksu ramen 7/10 and the spicy shoyu ramen 7/10 were all just Ok where the broth of the spicy shoyu was better. The spicy salmon avocado 8/10 was good and although the baby roll 7/10 was pretty it was just ok - the Kani on top was good but the crab with avocado is just a cut up piece of the artificial crab meat stick with avocado.

My favorite ramen place in Suffolk County! They have other dishes but I haven’t tried them. The broth is so good the flavors are layered and the consistency isn’t just water and the eggs are always boiled right (my favorite). I get the spicy miso and chicken ramen the meat isn’t too fatty the chasu is soft and the chicken is tasty with a ginger kind of undertone! The Thai tea isn’t powdery or overly sweet as well (it pairs so well with the spicy food)! I can’t speak much on the sushi but my partner says it’s “bomb!” Their favorite is the spicy tuna roll. The servers are always so sweet and for a smaller place it doesn’t feel too stuffy! I highly recommend!

Google
I’m not the type to leave a bad review but i’m highly disappointed. I’ve been going here since 2018 bcz i go to school around here. They gave me my chicken tempura roll in the tinest container so each piece of sushi just falls apart when u try to grab it w chopsticks, a roll comes w 6 pieces & they skimped out on one piece for some reason. I spent $40, literally a waste of money smh. I had to pretty much beg the lady for two spoons, three times…. The steak fried rice was super mediocre today as well. The lemonade was super gross today too. Ironically, I noticed they only give good service & good food when they are busy. I’m honestly never getting food from here again. i was so excited to eat my sushi & it’s all a mess. Don’t bother getting takeout or dining in unless they’re extremely busy.

Google
Ichi Sushi is a charming little gem that truly feels like home from the moment you step inside. This cozy and inviting restaurant offers a warm ambiance, making it perfect for an intimate dining experience or a casual meal. I opted for their bento box, which was simply delightful. The meal came with a perfectly balanced miso soup and a fresh, zesty ginger salad—an incredible deal for just about $20. The bento box itself was generous, filled with a variety of delicious flavors that felt thoughtfully prepared. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a crisp, chilled sake that paired beautifully with the food. What made the experience even more memorable was the service. Our server was incredibly sweet, attentive, and wore a genuine smile throughout our visit. Her positive energy added an extra touch of warmth to an already lovely experience. If you’re looking for a small, hidden sushi spot with great food and an equally great vibe, Ichi Sushi is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Google
Worthy of your sushi palate. Their shrimp tempura is second to none, not overdone and fluffy. They know what they’re doing and the lunch special is great as well.

Google
2404 simple roadside joy. Ramen is decent, loaded with meat/veggies. Neither Tonkotsu or Veggie is too salty. Sashimi is thick cut and fresh (I didn’t realize it doesn’t come with rice but I am low carb). Lunch specials are of very good value. Thanks for the quick food and friendly service :)

Google
Great food and great service. One of the best affordable ramen there is.

Yelp
The food and service was great. We all had a Bento box. The portions were large. Kani said and Rock Shrimp appetizers were very good as well.

Yelp
Cannot say enough about this place. You walk in and are greeted and seated immediately. A very calming vibe with wood and pebble decor. We ordered the spicy chicken ramen, which had a pleasant heat without being overwhelming and the broth was rich. We also had a seafood fried rice that had a generous serving of seafood, especially at that price, delicious. The sushi was great, the standout was the fireball roll, absolutely amazing. Must try. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Not bad, sushi was pretty good. Didn't love the spicy tuna but the salmon tasted good & fresh. Would come back but would probably try some more special rolls with sauces. These were a bit plain. Would also like to try to dine in and see how it is. Will update review if I try again.

Yelp
The best sushi on the planet!! And Long Island too!! Kevin Lin is a wonderful host/owner and his staff is first rate!

Yelp
Wow, my first time here. I found this little place from Yelp, of course. I went at lunch. Table for one. I was seated promptly. The service was spot on. The restaurant was clean and atmosphere relaxing. Now let's talk food. Great deals and fantastic food. I had a lunch box. It came with soup and salad. I ordered the teriyaki chicken, and it came with sticky rice, shumi, and a California roll. I can't wait to return. When I thanked the server for a great lunch, she told me to try the sushi next time. I will be back and with the family next time. Winner for sure.

Yelp
Ichi is a fantastic sushi spot with great food and service. The restaurant isn't very big but they manage to get a good amount of seating. The interior is simple but comfortable. I ordered the miso soup, sashimi appetizer and the dynamite roll. Everything was delicious. On future visits to the area I'll definitely be back for more. Enjoy!

Yelp
Love Ichi! My friends and I come here frequently and get takeout as well! We love their lunch deals, which are very reasonably priced! If ordering takeout, be aware that it could take about 45 mins depending on when you order it! I always get the salmon teriyaki bento lunch, as it comes with California rolls and shumai, as well as miso soup and a salad! The food is fresh and delicious every time we come! Would recommend!

Yelp
The quality of the fish here is unparalleled and the texture of the rice was refreshing. I ordered the Christmas roll on Easter Eve and it was scrumptious! The Japanese hot green tea is amazing 10/10 - you can taste the full flavor of the tea. They are all around smashing here! They know what they're doing. Our server was highly attentive and caring with constant refill service throughout our entire dinner and it never felt intrusive. Beautiful ambiance too! They have a masterful art piece of cats on the wall on your way to the restroom. I love art, so this is probably my favorite part of this epic experience!

Yelp
Got take out here after work . Service was quick and the staff inside were friendly. I ordered the kani salad and added avocado ontop which makes it 10x better. I did feel like it was slightly overdressed other than that I enjoyed it very much. Miso soup hit the spot. I got the spicy crunchy tuna and spicy salmon avocado roll. Both tasted very fresh but both weren't spicy at all and the rolls kept falling apart every time I picked them up which is why I'm giving it a 3/5. Very good sushi though just wish it was spicy and actually held together while eating. I will definitely give this spot another try in future
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
Service was pleasant, nice piano music playing. Our initial server was efficient, the second one wasn't interested much. My Christmas roll was just ok. Fresh fish, not a lot of rice. It didn't have any sauce on top which I had wanted. The salmon was good as was their rice. Miso soup was very flavorful and good size ginger salad. Seems they do lots of take out.

Yelp
My husband and I come here all the time and the food is always delicious. Service is quick and efficient, are able to eat in peace and pay quickly which we love. The ambiance is family friendly and laid back. One of our regular spots.

Yelp
Delicious, every time. Love this place. The food is consistent . I love this place. The plum wine and service is always perfect.

Yelp
We were very disappointed. We went here ages ago and after seeing all the great reviews, decided to give it another go. The salad with ginger dressing was the excellent, in fact, it was our favorite part of the meal. My husband had the spicy kimchi with crab. The crab was barely visible, but the soup was tasty, albeit a little too spicy. I had the Spicy Maki combo. I don't understand this new trend of mushy sushi. It's like it's blended in a blender. It used to be diced finely and have texture. Now it's just soggy and mushy in my opinion. I also was surprised that it had so much "crunch" aka leftover tempura crumbs, especially when the menu said Spicy Maki, not Spicy Crunchy Maki. I definitely would have asked for it without it if I had known. Husband had a bunch of different rolls. The "LIE"had that fake crab that was flavorless. We were also basically left completely alone, and I don't want to be hovered over, but it would have been nice if someone checked in to see how we were doing once in a while. I hate giving less than flattering reviews, but I think it's important to be truthful, especially when we didn't agree with previous reviews.

Jenny L.

Yelp
This place is about getting a good deal for quality, portions, and service. Their sashimi lunch (12-pieces) and for me (18-pieces) ranges from $14-$29. The uni, toro, and ikura are fresh. The tempura batter is crispy without greasiness. Their bentos are also a good deal for ~$14 too. Parking is ample in front is the restaurant. It looks like a home, but don't let the exterior fool you into not coming in for a yummy meal at an affordable price.

Yelp
Chose ischi sushi to celebrate my B-D. Bon and I were excited to revisit their wonderful sushi and Ramen! We started the party with Sake and the sweet shrimp with tempura Heads... incredible!! Tails so sweet and heads crunchy and tasty! Tonkatsu Ramen had rich broth and tender noodles with egg. Sooo Goood!! Foe mains we had a variety of Belly Sake.and Belly Hamachi in both sushi and Sashimi Delish!!! Mango dessert sealed the deal... the finish to an incredible sushi fest! Can't wait to return...

Yelp
Nice sushi restaurant. I had the Shrimp Tempura and liked it a lot. We also ordered Rock Shrimp and Chicken Lettuce Wrap and both were pretty good. And we topped it off with the Green Tea Fried Ice-Cream which was delicious! The restaurant has a small parking lot. The décor is simple but nice and they have plenty of seating inside.

Yelp
Amazing food and services, really enjoyed my time here :D. Everything is delicate, fresh, and tasty, it is already our second time here and we would definitely come again. And We got really this really cute gift after our meal! Happy Chunjie!!

Melissa S.

Yelp
Awesome sushi for the area!! I was driving from Port Jeff to Smithtown for my sushi fix until I tried Ichi. I've only ever gotten takeout but the restaurant looks cute and cozy inside as well. Will have to dine in one of these days!

Yelp
Run, don't walk to Ici Sushi Bar and Restaurant in Setauket. First time dining for lunch. Excellent Kimchi soup, rich, spicy broth with crunchy cabbage. Yellowtail with jalapeño and ponzu, fresh and luxurious. Red clam sushi and sweet shrimp sushi, both fresh and delicious. Shrimp tempura was crisp, inside and out, and tasted faintly of iodine (a good thing!). Tonkotsu ramen, rich chickeny? broth with plenty of chasu, corn and bamboo shoots. Wavy noodles were nicely firm and remained so while eating. Can't wait to return, it is only a two hour drive!

Margaret A.

Yelp
Cozy spot with kind service and great food. It may not be anything fancy, but it's clean and reasonably priced.

Larry L.

Yelp
I have reviewed this restaurant several years ago. Sometimes a restaurant food loses its special magic. I'm a please to report they have not lost that magic! In fact the staff has such a good attitude I can feel that they care. I love that!
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Love this place. I've ordered online, quick, and eaten in house, also quick. The staff tends to be a bit on the pushy side, wanting to get you your food and get you through your meal, which I did appreciate for most of the in -house meal. I ordered the garden salad, yum, the seaweed salad, also yum, and tuna roll, yum yum yum. I've ordered and eaten their food several times and each time it's a delight!
google avatar

Maura M.

Yelp
My favorite sushi place. The food is always good- both sushi and ramen. The waiters and waitresses are on point. The seating is comfortable. My favorite thing is the consistency- you will always get good food and service.
google avatar

Yelp
Portions are petite but very flavorful. Location and curb appeal are inviting. I love listening to the piano music while enjoying my meal. Service is impeccable. Sake was nice and cold, just the way I like it. Just perfect! This is my favorite sushi and sake establishment.

Yelp
Great Sushi and Excellent Ramen. Some of the best sushi around. They have an extensive menu

Yelp
Ichi Sushi & Ramen is a little shack on the side of a road producing some good quality Japanese food. I will be honest and say that we came to Ichi as a plan b after the plan a fell through, and this restaurant served as a more than decent back-up. We started out with some sushi, a spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, and salmon skin roll. I was quite surprised by how fresh the fish tasted, I wanted more sushi by the end of it but wanted to save room for the ramen. My girlfriend and I went with their classic tonkotsu ramen and both bowls delivered the flavors we desired, my one gripe was that the chashu pork used in the ramen was noticeably tough that day and just wasn't as flavorful as other places i've been to. Overall the meal was good and I would come back.

Tim N.

Yelp
This place is great. I like their ramen a lot and their sushi as well. Ramen and sushi is a great combination.

Joel L.

Yelp
We love it here food is alway fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and service is great.
google avatar

Ari R.

Yelp
Service was great, overall ok food. Nothing special you could probably find better Japanese restaurants nearby. I tried the takoyaki, karage chicken, and dynamite roll. The takoyaki was pretty good, the chicken tasted like oil, and I could only manage a bite of the roll. I seem to be part of the minority here but I thought the food was below average, wouldn't order from here again.
google avatar

Anushka B.

Yelp
Love this sushi place! Probably the best in Stony Brook area. Quick and efficient service. Miso soup is good as a palate cleanser. Karaage chicken is love. The sushis taste fresh. Reasonable pricing, quick service, good ambience. Also tried their crab salad, tuna avocado rolls and California rolls. Once again impressed with their food.
google avatar

Yelp
What a gem! The quality of products is really good, they have a big menu and we'll have to come back to try other things. So far, the ramen was really good and we also enjoyed the pork Katsu bento box. They also have lunch specials.

Nancy M.

Yelp
Best sushi in town. Ramen also delicious. This place has been May favorite for 20 years.
google avatar

Larry L.

Yelp
Another great meal at my favorite sushi restaurant tonight. Great service and nice place.

Katherine C.

Yelp
I was in the area visiting Stonybrook University and decided to stop by. Upon first impression, it's a very small restaurant and could be easily missed. The interior looked very nice and have a nice vibe. Upon sitting down, their was a very pungent chemical stench that could not be missed. I was very out off by it and had to step out of the restaurant for a couple minutes. The service was subpar and could use some work. The waiters never checked up on us besides taking our order and serving our food. Instead of asking if I was done with my drink, they would pick up my can and shake it to see if it was empty. Additionally, they poured the rest of my soda in their glass and took the can away. This was very unprofessional in my opinion. We ordered a couple special rolls and a few normal hand rolls from their lunch special. They were alright but nothing out of the ordinary. I felt that the sushi proportion was filled with more avocado and cucumber rather than eel.

Jules A.

Yelp
Four stars. Say hello Michael Cafarella 36 Marion Ave Stonybrook New York 11790 Thank you

Yelp
I love ichi! The quality of food, drinks, and the variety is great. Service is fast, food is prepared well, and the items are affordable. I usually order a bento box so I get my fix of sushi, tempura, and teriyaki all at once. I have come here with my family a couple times and they also enjoyed the ramen and bento boxes. I also love the selection of instrumental music playing. Always uplifting! When I have come with friends, all of them enjoyed their dishes as well.

Robert C.

Yelp
Bento box lunch special was so good! So much food, chicken was so flavorful, price was just right.

Lizzy H.

Yelp
Food was amazing, service was quick. Atmosphere was nice and typical for sushi place. It was cozy but clean. Prices were great too. All you can eat for 26.99 a person on a Thursday night. I never write reviews but this place is really awesome. Pepper tuna is my favorite and the salmon mango salad was awesome. The miso soup was so flavorful as well.

Yelp
The last time I personally been here have been over 15 years ago easy. Back then, it was operating under a different management and I heard mixed reviews since then. We decided to give this place a try again few nights back. My son had the kani salad which he enjoyed. I will have to admit that they put too much of the crunch on top so it was hard to see the crab meat slices underneath. He also had the Miso Ramen which included pork chashu, egg, sweet corn, bamboo, etc. He enjoyed both dishes and the only complaint is they are a tad on the smaller side. My wife and I shared the karaage chicken. They tasted fine but we definitely had better out there. For entree, we shared a Susa for Us platter which consists of 9 pieces of sushi, 18 pieces of sashimi, 1 rainbow roll and 1 dragon roll for $61. The presentation was beautiful and the fishes tasted very fresh. We loved the assortment and was very happy with this dish. For dessert, we were convinced to get the hazelnut truffle ice cream which my wife and son enjoyed. The service was top notch and we were frequently checked on and had our water and jasmine tea constantly refilled. Based on this visit, we would give highly recommend.

Yelp
Many good dishes, decent place, good prices, place to go with children or to meet friends for lunch
google avatar

Lizzie V.

Yelp
Everything was so good! It all tasted fresh. We (2) shared the sashimi platter and miso soups to start off. The soup was packed with flavor, one of the best miso soups I've had. The sashimi appetizer was so fresh and delicious. We ordered the sea urchin sashimi, I had never tried sea urchin. It was amazing! It reminded me of butter or avocado, so delicious. It was $10. We ordered the Peter roll to share and it was delicious. A great mix of textures and flavors. I really recommend it. Overall this place was amazing, I will be returning.

Yelp
First time here as a vegetarian and I would say their vegetarian menu is quite limited. Highlight would be the service. Food: 3/5 Ordered Vegetable Ramen and Mix Vegetable Roll. Ramen was flavorful, but the type of noodles used was a little bit different from what I expected. Roll was not bad. I enjoyed it. Portion size was okay and I think the food is not bad, but not anything out of the world. Price: $ ($-$$$) Not bad. About the price of a meal compared to nearby places. Service: 5/5 Staff was helpful in serving us and checked in on us every now and then to make sure we were enjoying our meal. While selection was limited and food was nothing out of the ordinary, I still enjoyed my meal and appreciated their service. I would come again!

Yelp
Unbelievably fresh, tasty sushi. Attentive waitstaff, good beer prices. Enjoyed lunch and dinner here.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, what a surprise! We've driven past so many times, but friends recommend and now we know why. I can honestly say I had one of the best tuna rolls I have ever had.
google avatar

Sam E.

Yelp
Excellent sushi place right off Stony Brook University! Came here for a quick lunch before heading back to work. Ordered the 3 roll lunch special for a reasonable $13.50. Got the yellowtail jalapeno, spicy shrimp avocado and salmon avocado. Came with the usual miso soup as well. The sushi was wonderfully fresh. Good sized chunks of fish throughout, rice perfectly done. Miso soup was mellow and not salty. Overall a very satisfying lunch! Would definitely come back here again to try their other offerings

Peter H.

Yelp
Great quality. Service is above and beyond. We order for delivery about once a week. Quick response and they have never left anything out. Kevin is the best.
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh and delicious food. We enjoyed some sushi spreads and pork buns. Great service. Lovely ambiance. We can't wait to come back to try the ramen.
google avatar

Neelum K.

Yelp
The sushi here is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Service is just ok, especially at lunch because they do so much take out in the area. We loved the sushi so much though we came for lunch and dinner the very same day: we NEEDED to have more. I guess that says it all. Super Fresh, Super Generous portions, delicious Special rolls. Must have the yellowtail jalapeno!! Can't go wrong with this place.

Yelp
Surprised to see how busy the restaurant was on a Tuesday night. It's very close to Stony Brook Campus, 20 min walk from the Mendelsohn Quad. We called ahead of time to inquire if reservation was needed. The waiter asked how long it would take me to get to the restaurant and after I told him 20 min, he said he would hold the table for me. He really kept his words because when I arrived and confirmed it was me who had called earlier, he gave me the next available table even though there were ppl ahead of me. That was awesome service. The food was good. But it took 40 min for our sushi to arrive. Ramen came 15 min or more after the sushi. They have lots of take outs, and I assume they were busy with the take outs before catering the dine-ins. Make sure to check in to receive your 10% off.

Saje P.

Yelp
The Tonkatsu ramen and dumplings were very good. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pork belly in the ramen, it was a little overcooked. The broth for the spicy Tonkatsu was excellent and had a real kick.
