Ichiran Ramen Chain Opens a Times Square Restaurant Next Week | Eater NY

"Opening next week, Ichiran will unveil its biggest NYC location yet near Times Square at 152 West 49th St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues; I learned the two-level restaurant has room for more than 100 diners, with the first floor (65 seats) opening Thursday, March 28 and the lower level (38 seats) slated to open in April. Tonkotsu ramen remains the primary dish, customizable by richness and other factors, and the ramen has already ranked among the better tonkotsu options in pork-broth–obsessed New York — The Times gave Ichiran one star for its “rounded and substantial” broth. Like other outposts, this location features the chain’s eclectic solo dining booths with wooden dividers that can be folded so multiple people can eat together; consistent with founder Manabu Yoshitomi’s original pitch, servers are summoned by a button to minimize conversation, and beeps, dings, and lights make the experience feel almost like eating inside a ramen video game. Ichiran, which has 75 locations in Asia, made its U.S. debut in Bushwick in 2016 (where a 200-person line greeted it) and operates a noodle factory there to expand locally without shipping noodles; there’s also a Midtown location on 31st Street. I updated this post with different seating information provided by a restaurant spokesperson." - Serena Dai

One of the BEST tasting ramen I've ever had! The experience was also unmatched, I loved the authentic solo dining experience I received here. You can remove the dividers if you are sitting next to someone though. Also worth the price- this bowl was $25 after tax. It was nice to customize your bowl to your liking (you can adjust the salt, garlic, onion, spice levels, etc). It was totally worth the 30 minute wait in the snow!

Came here with my friends just to quickly fill our stomachs after arriving from Philly without knowing how popular this place was. Quite literally we walked here perfectly right when it opened because we didn’t want to walk 18 minutes to eat ramen at another place. After eating here we understand why there was a whole line because it really didn’t disappoint! The broth was very light and not too salty like other ramen restaurants. The noodles were also made perfectly and reminded me of a comforting home cooked meal. I like how they only serve one type of ramen because it feels like they’ve perfected the entire bowl. Service was prompt and courteous and the atmosphere provided a lot of privacy between each guest/group.

Customer service and overall environment was absolutely amazing. Their whole system is captivating. However, we had a very poor experience with the food and the dessert. The only meat available is pork, so if you don't eat it, you're only gonna get noodles floating in oily water along with a small quantity of vegetables. The most recommended dessert; matcha pudding tasted absolutely horrendous and that's coming from someone who loves matcha latte. The pictures attached are the best thing I got out of my experience here. Everything else pretty much went poorly. Will never be coming back.

Google
My review is for ordered delivery. I thought the ramen was fine, maybe magical in person but not at home. It is nice how you can customize so many aspects of your ramen but I ordered medium spicy and it still tasted mild. Know that this ramen has few toppings by design adding toppings like mushroom, egg, seaweed, and pork will quickly drive up the price. Delivery comes in a lot of packaging b it doesn’t come with a spoon or chopsticks/fork. You need to peak the eggs yourself but they also come in a plastic container. The instructions for heating are cute.

The place is heavy with the atmosphere of those ramen bars in Japan. Grew up a bit in the country so this place does feel a tad bit authentic to the ramen experience you'd get ordering in Japan, somewhat. The wait was a bit long but the workers were pretty kind. A bit stern to those who didn't really adhere to instructions but English isn't a language the whole world knows very well so it's understandable. Seating was individual-based but you can open up the table dividers if eating with company. You are greeted with typical greetings when coming into a restaurant in Japan so that was a nice touch. Some ambience I noticed in the background so the experience was a bit immersive, too. Upon coming indoors you order with the tablets as the worker there can assist you. Options of thick or thin noodles and sides are there if you must. I chose to just have the basic meat option with onions and a thicker noodle. Everything else was additional and I didn't feel the need to add anymore so yeah, it can get a bit pricey even for individual meals. As an addition, there is a water fountain so for drinks you can just grab your own cup of water.

I went to this ramen spot on a date and from entry point to finishing my bowl, I had a pleasant experience. When we arrived, there was a line for entry (this was an hour after opening) and didn’t wait too long. I’d say it took about 20 minutes to be seated. When we arrived at our seats, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It wasn’t too loud. We were seated at a mini table that had a kind of door that gave us more privacy when eating. I did open it because I was with someone but that didn’t change the vibe or anything. The ramen arrived pretty quick (it’s pay at entry) and there was little conversing with the chefs which I really liked. The food was tasty and it was a good portion but the only problem I had was the price. Two ramen bowls and a matcha pudding came to exactly $75. The matcha pudding was disappointing to me because it was $10 and it was so small. It was about the size of an espresso shot cup. I gave this ramen spot a 4/5 because of the price and size of dessert.

Google
Delightful quality at a reasonable price in heart of Tourist Town! Try to get there before one to avoid a wait out in the cold. The noodles were delicate, the broth flavourful and just the right texture for me. The seating and serving added to novelty of the experience. Please follow staff requirements and order one ramen per head during busy hours.

Google
Absolutely worth the hype. I just had the tonkotsu ramen at Ichiran NYC and it was really good—rich, delicious broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and amazing depth of flavor. Yes, there was a 45-minute line, but it was 100% worth the wait. The focused, solo-style dining experience lets the ramen shine. Would gladly wait again.

Grit L.

Yelp
10/10 food ambiance and service. Food was great and very customizable for each person's tastes. Although on the expensive side, it's not something you would be having every day so it was well worth its price.

Yelp
Visiting from out of state, and I have to say-- this is the BEST ramen I've ever eaten in my entire existence & I promise I'm not being dramatic lol. There was a long line, however, as a party of five, we were very lucky to arrive before the rush. We waited maybe 10 minutes in line before we were seated. When you enter the restaurant, you and your party will submit your orders through a kiosk and one of the staff members will print out the tickets for you to hold on to until you're seated. Once you're seated, you place your ticket at the window and your meal will be prepped for you, I waited less than five minutes for the arrival of my meal. Though you eat your meal in a single booth, you can choose to be seated with your entire party or for quicker service they may ask if you'd be willing to split your party. Ok-- the important part of this review! The ramen was so rich and flavorful. Everything complimented so well with the meal. Highly suggest ordering the classic tonkotsu with the recommended side toppings. I finished everything! Probably could have ate a second bowl honestly lmao. Like all of NY, parking is very tricky, it's prob best to take the train if you can. The restaurant is fairly quiet and service is top tier and quick! I highly suggest stopping by if you're ever in the area!

Yelp
The service is good and fast. The taste is no doubt. same like Japan. This is not my first time so delicious

Yelp
Ichiran was such a cool and unique experience. It's perfect for people who enjoy eating in peace without distractions. The seating is designed for individual dining, with small private booths separated by sliding doors, giving you your own space to fully enjoy your ramen. Even the staff interaction is minimal, making the whole experience feel very personal. Ordering is done through a kiosk before being seated, and you receive a ticket to hand to the kitchen so they can prepare your meal. The ramen itself was on the pricier side, but it was absolutely worth it--for both the quality and the experience. Ichiran is a well-known ramen chain from Japan, and they even sell their signature ramen kits that are supposedly super fresh and can be enjoyed at home.

Yelp
- Very similar to Japan! Even the decor and layout ( stalls ) - Waited about 30 mins outside and another 20 or so min for food - service was good , just long waits ( the best things require patience ) - ramen : 10/10 noodles ( get to choose firmness/ softness) , broth ( rich and soooo tasty) , meat (tender and juicy) , egg ( soft boiled ) .. ..just perfection . Would come back !
google avatar

Keith A.

Yelp
What can I say? It's a perfect ramen. The broth is thick and layered with flavor. I got extra soft noodles, which is how I like them. Ordered a soft boiled egg, which you peel and put into the ramen. Yummy, ate every bite!

Yelp
One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Times Square! Their ramen broth is rich and flavorful, with options to have added toppings but their original is a good enough portion size for me (it's great but I also have so many restaurants to eat at in NYC!) Ramen options have a recommended selection but: *if you like firmer noodles, I would recommend selecting "firm" instead of their recommended option The ambiance is just like in Japan, individual stalls for each diner to enjoy their meal but if you're there with friends, they can remove the divider to join the stalls. Would highly recommend checking out this place to reminisce on your Japan trip or try it out to get a taste of all the amazing cuisine in Japan!

Yelp
This place is honestly a hole in the wall in times square. A co-worker recommended this ramen spot which was a 10-minute walk from our hotel. They only serve one type of ramen, they possibly have a vegetarian option but they have different sides you can choose from. As you enter, you order your ramen on a kiosk and then the host has you wait on the other side where you line up and wait to be seated in one of their booths. We were seated together and you press a doorbell thing on your booth to call a server from the other side of your booth. You give them your order and once it is ready they open up the curtain and serve you your food. The booths have dividers you can open especially if you're with someone so that was pretty cool. Food was amazing. They have one type of ramen which you can choose different toppings and firmness of the noddles. Amazing ramen, the north was really good and the pork was perfect. I also got their matcha drink which was good and not at all grainy. Highly recommend this place. It is a different take and different experience. I know that in japan this is how they usually eat ramen so it was pretty cool to experience here in NYC. Also, they are extremely against tipping which is much appreciated since tipping culture here in the US has been insanely ridiculous.

Yelp
Always with a line, Ichiran is a goto spot for ramen and for good reason! Authentic in flavours and a broth that you just want to slurp down (especially when it's cold outside), you could never go wrong here. Taste: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Value for money: 3.5/5 We had: 1) tonkotsu combo - the goto, we got extra noodles make use of the broth and frankly it wasn't entirely enough without it 2) tonkotsu without the combo - this is $7 cheaper, and if you just want an egg, this is the path I recommend, the combo for $7 more includes mushrooms and scallions. But here's the thing, your noodles will already have the scallions 3) premium yakibuta and extra noodles - the yakibuta was worth adding, especially given the meal at hand provides two slices of pork. With nice meaty and fattiness to go with it, the smoky and sweet touch makes it a great add 4) matcha pudding - a great way to end the meal (quite small but it packs flavour) The food here is great, especially during the winter and every now and then I crave it. The broth is cooked very well (sometimes it gives a kick when you add spice to it). Couple things to note are: 1) there's no tipping here and 2) the basement level has very bad signal

Yelp
Our first time was in Japan when we tried ichiran. After eating pizza, bagels, steak for the past few days, we missed asian food. I called in advance to reserve, but they don't take reservation. He is nice enough to suggest us by asking what time we planned to have dinner at. Then he said come 1 hour prior. And we did luckily, bec after we finished, the line outside was pretty long. Anyway, we ordered classic ichiran set and matcha pudding. We ordered via their tablet, super automated. Their menu is very simple. Once you paid, the machine printed your order 1 slip pet person. Then they called you and brought you to the seating area. There's an order sheet to order more or extra. So no worry if you feel rushed when ordering outside. There's a coat and bag hanger right behind you.

Yelp
I was very excited for my first visit to a personal booth style ramen joint! I never had a chance to try it when I was in Tokyo, so this location is a great alternative. Arriving at 9pm there was virtually no line, and I was directed to a tablet by an attendant to input my order. I ordered the Classic Tonkatsu Ramen, medium dashi (salt), medium richness (oil), and medium garlic. I went with the menu recommendations so I would have a baseline for how spicy the broth is intended to be, and the medium firmness of the noodles was perfect for me. As I don't tolerate spice too well the default level was also exactly where it needed to be for me. The pork wasn't as tender as some other ramen places I've tried but it was close. All in all, this ramen hit the spot on a freezing January evening in the city. As an iconic ramen staple, Ichiran firmly met my expectations. I will definitely be back to try a larger spread of the add-ons and Premium Yakibuta. The service was par for the course. I was not given an over the top enthusiastic welcome like I maybe would have received in Tokyo, but the staff were attentive. They asked if it was my first visit and let me know where to get water, how to order, and how my ramen would be delivered to the booth. I doubt the service at any other Manhattan ramen places would be much better. The tip being included in the overall price was also a plus. Others will agree the food is consistently good. The prices match the area around Times Square and should be expected. Ichiran has taken a tight menu and streamlined it well. As an iconic ramen staple, Ichiran firmly met my expectations. I will definitely be back to try a larger spread of the add-ons and Premium Yakibuta. Looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
I was excited to go here because I didn't get the chance to try it during my last visit to Japan. It wasn't too busy. Although this place is designed for solo dining, we were lucky enough to sit three of us next to each other. The individual stalls have collapsable walls, so we could chat. Food comes out quick. Ramen was a nice texture, and the broth was just right. I'm not a ramen expert by any stretch, but I was happy with my meal and my visit.

Yelp
This place was a fun experience. The seating is individual slots/stalls with dividers that can be opened if you are sitting next to friends. You line up outside first, order at a tablet once you get inside, get in another line to be seated (there is a light board that shows available seating), the hostess will hand you your order tag that you will hand to the wait staff behind the curtains when you get seated. I was expecting good ramen, and that's what I got. I guess this would be equivalent to a "fast food" ramen place. I got a bowl of ramen and the matcha dessert that many reviewers recommended. The food came quickly. The meal was definitely filling. Perfect as the weather is getting colder, and it was a close option for lunch before watching a maintenee Broadway show. Overall, I would recommend going. The food is good, and the experience is fun.
google avatar

Juan N.

Yelp
The line was a little long but nothing too bad and staff very friendly. Exactly how I expected the booth to be including opening up the barrier so you can share your space with your partner. I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen with a full clove and Kae Dama. I must say the broth is very rich. I made sure the Kae Dama was firm as I ordered the main one with medium. I like the firm better than medium. Wife ordered with medium spiciness and it wasn't bad definitely added a little more flavor to the dish. She absolutely love the Matcha Pudding and I agreed with her it wasn't too sweet.

Yelp
WOW WOW WOW!! I have had this place on my list for quite some time now, and I finally got a chance to visit. It did not disappoint! You order as soon as you arrive to avoid a long wait at the booth. They specialize in Tonkotsu ramen and you can customize the level of spice, firmness of noodle, toppings, etc. I went for the recommended suggestions and it was absolutely incredible - arguably one of the best ramens I have ever had. The booth is great with instructions for each individual one. I had a water cooler next to me and to my surprise and relief- a tissue box for the warm broth with a bit of a kick to it! The servers bowed upon delivering the food, telling me to enjoy the meal and boy did I! No tip is required here. This was incredible and I strongly recommend to anyone looking for a good ramen and an enjoyable, quiet individual experience.

Yelp
From the outside, this place does not look like much, but the reviews across different platforms speak for themselves. We decided to brave the cold and wait (although the line was substantial and part of it meant waiting outside...). Luckily, it moved quickly, and soon we were inside, busy choosing between the different broth, noodle and topping options. The noodles are made in-house and the broth (I had the vegetarian version) is incredibly flavorful. While the list of toppings is not too extensive, the end result is far from boring. On the contrary, it was so good that this was probably the second place I've visited in my life where I finished the whole bowl. Excellent ramen "hole in the wall" that is worth repeats. Please note that this is traditional cubicle seating, so that you can slurp away to your heart's content.
google avatar

Joy C.

Yelp
Fun place. I dined alone and this is the perfect place to do so. Ramen was cooked perfectly and soup was tasty and delivered quickly. An egg was a separate order. My meal, with a soda was around $35. Guess that's a typical price but still seemed high.
google avatar

Jessica Z.

Yelp
The Ichiran Ramen chain is scattered across New York City. I visited the Times Square location and ordered their pork tonkatsu Ramen. The broth was exceptionally tasty and the meat was tender. Each ramen bowl is priced above $20 and you can add extra toppings at an additional charge. I strongly suggest including an additional egg. The egg is boiled to a perfect soft, yolky state. Moreover, I am fond of the restaurant's seating arrangement. It provides a unique and intimate dining ambiance. I was highly pleased with their prompt service. I would suggest arriving early as it tends to fill up as the evening progresses. scrumptiously good extra toppings available ample serving size
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
The "bones" of this place made for a delicious and interactive experience. I am not a frequent guest in Times Square, but if you are like me and get exasperated by the touristy options in the area -- take delight that this place can offer you something fun -- even if you are not a ramen lover at heart. There are essentially two options -- tonkotsu ramen and a vegetarian variety. We tried both. For those who are wondering what tonkotsu is -- it means pork bones -- yes, broth made from pork bones that (if they are done right) are really well cleaned and provide a richness and depth. The vegetarian obviously lacks that but was still flavorful. Hot, not too salty broth in both cases. I opted for more noodles, and we wanted to bring the heat for both options. This place lets you customize. The cool factor was being seated in a booth -- kind of like a mini voting booth without the angst. They then bring your ramen in from behind. if you are with company, you can remove a divider to have a booth for two (or leave it up -- no judgment!). Yes, this place (as with most things in Times Square) -- is part of a larger, multi-national chain. Yet, it almost felt authentic and not quite as kitschy as some of the other chain places. For me -- that was refreshing. We went around 8pm. Would this have felt even better after 12pm after a night of tequila -- sure, ramen joints and late night diners all have roles to play. Unfortunately this place closes at 10pm. They need to fix that.

Yelp
During my visit to New York, I had to stop by Ichiran Ramen. I'd had their ramen while in Japan and was blown away by how flavorful a bowl of ramen could be, so I was excited to see how the New York location compared. As you walk in, there's a small area where you order at a kiosk and pay before heading in. We had a group of five, and luckily, we got seated right away. My go-to setup for ramen is: medium dashi, strong richness, scallions and chashu, 1 level of their red sauce, and firm noodles. I always add eggs and dried seaweed for the perfect balance. If you're still hungry afterward, they even offer an option to add extra noodles, which is a great touch.
google avatar

Dhruti T.

Yelp
I enjoyed visiting Ichiran for the authentic booth style experience. I was worried I wouldn't be able to chat with my friend but the booths are not isolating enough to prevent you from enjoying time with your company. You order at the front and then hand over the receipt to the staff behind the booth wall and your meal is served right to you from the other side which is the kitchen. I got the recommended veggie set ramen at spice level 10. The broth was delicious and became more and more flavorful as the spice on top saturated through the noodles over the course of the meal. It's often difficult to find really good vegetarian broth but this place delivered. It was a great bowel of ramen. I'll def be back.
google avatar

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
This may not be my absolute favorite ramen place for the price and flavor, but it is certainly very good. I appreciate the quick and efficient service. This is not a place you come to hang out for hours to catch up with friends. You're actually better off coming as an individual than in a group as you'll be seated quicker. I would recommend checking out the menu beforehand, it's not extensive, so you can order quickly off the screens provided. I liked the coziness of the space and they even have the sound of hustle and bustle of the restaurant as background noise which I found entertaining. The ramen itself was delicious, the broth flavorful. Just a tad too spicy for my liking but great nonetheless. I had all the fixings and it was more than enough food. I would recommend arriving just before 5pm if you're getting dinner to avoid the wait.
google avatar

Heena S.

Yelp
I love Ichiran. I tried the miso vegan broth with all fixings this time around. It was good but needed some additional garlic for my taste. I did have the wait staff miss all my fixings and I had to request them per the order which came with a lag to the actual ramen. Regardless still one of my favorite places to visit. Thought the $35 price tag seems steep.
google avatar

Ashish G.

Yelp
Same process as the original in Tokyo. Has few different items on menu but in general couple of ramen with accessories. I don't know why but it was not as earth shattering as the bowl in Tokyo. But still very good bowl of ramen.
google avatar

Sally L.

Yelp
Went in on a Monday around noon. There was no wait to order and to be seated. Ordered the classic tonkotsu ramen with the toppings combo. The broth was good. Not too salty. I ordered it as level 2 spicy, but I could have done spicier. The meat was okay could have been more tender. The only downside was that I had to peel my own egg. This was a very filling meal. This was a good meal, but I will say I wouldn't want to wait in a long line to try this.
google avatar

Rommel S.

Yelp
Wow!! What a great find.... Walking around during the rainy day and stumbled on to this gem. Service was excellent and attentive throughout the dining time. Food came out hot and fresh. Full of flavor and right size serving. Also got to love the personal stations that can open up for group parties. Also first time having Matcha Beer... pretty good!!
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
This review is for takeout only. The packaging for takeout is very smart and it comes with instructions on how best to enjoy your meal. The broth is separate from the noodles as well as the toppings. The egg doesn't come peeled so I had to peel that first. I ordered the classic tonkotsu ramen and recommended toppings. I indicated in my order for it to be spicy but it didn't have spice. Overall the ramen was tasty but not the best ramen I've had. I'll have to try again in person to see if it's any different.
google avatar

Aleeya W.

Yelp
I've been thinking about this ramen since I left NYC. If you're looking for a quick spot, I'm not really sure about here. Everyone has their own definition of quick. Our wait was about 35minutes, which includes time outside and inside. The staff was really nice. We had a carriage (stroller) with us, and they were kind enough to put it off in an area out of other guests way. The inside behind the curtains is bigger than I was thinking. There was 20 or so individual seats behind where we were (I didn't actually count, don't quote me). I love that you had the option to either eat alone or, put down the dividers and enjoy the company of your group. Overall I had an amazing experience and will most definitely be returning.

Yelp
When I found out that my favorite ramen place from Japan was in New York, I immediately went 12 hours after landing in NYC. Yes the prices are astronomical compared to the ICHIRAN In Japan but what did I expect? It in time square and I didn't need a plane ticket to go to Japan for this magical delicious bowl of ramen. I could go on and on about how much I love this ramen but you just have to go try it for yourself. The broth is flavorful and rich and the best part is you get to customize it to how you want it! Is spending $80 for 2 bowls of ramen pricey? Absolutely but would I go back again this week? Probably lol. Also save room for the matcha pudding, it's heavenly!!!
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
The food was really good. Loved my ramen and maybe even more the sliced pork appetizer...even thought about getting a second portion. It was just a bit of a strange system for placing order, getting seated and then having what felt like a small little cubby to eat. I was by myself on this trip and would normally look to sit at a bar but this felt more isolated IMO. Maybe with one other or a small group I'd having given higher rating. But everyone sitting side be side in a row it might be hard with more than 3 people.
google avatar

Hellen N.

Yelp
One of my favorite ramen places in the states! It was love at first try with Ichiran when I was in NYC a couple years ago. I loved the texture of the noodle, the flavorful broth, and the fragrant chili. It's rare to find a ramen place that is not too salty in my opinion. As a spicy food lover, I usually request for extra spicy, but 9/10 times the added chili makes my ramen too salty. This is one of the few places where I can increase the spice level without compromising the taste. The menu here is simple but solid. The ramen is delicious and is best followed by their matcha pudding. The light sweetness is so refreshing after all the spicy goodness. I thought it was quite interesting how the tables are arranged around the kitchen with divider between each seat. It's like sitting at a bar but with barricades between you and your neighbors. You can fold the dividers if you have more than 1 person in your party. My only complaint is the wait and the price. There's always a huge line out front and it usually takes at least 30mins to get seats; additionally, one bowl of ramen is about $30 with the recommended side toppings. Otherwise, very yummy ramen spot. However, I have to settle for their packaged ramen kit as they only have locations in NYC.
google avatar

Gabby N.

Yelp
This is, quite frankly, the BEST ramen and best ramen experience I've ever had in my life. The next time I book a ticket to NYC, it will be because I need to have a bowl at ICHIRAN again.

Yelp
A cute little place in Times Square. Think traditional ramen house. Although there are more than one, it feels more like a mom and pop shop, in all the best ways. The ramen is so good, and the ramen booths are a very unique experience. It's a perfect place to unwind in the chaos that is Time'sSquare. Service is quick and did I say the ramen is delicious!!?? If you choose to, you can customize your Ramen by adding things like extra meat or extra egg. The egg is perfectly cooked and I highly recommend. Arrive early, they fill up quick.

Yelp
So much fun! I've been hearing about Ichiran non-stop and I was so excited to finally try it myself. The experience was perfect-- fast seating and service despite a long line out the door, delicious and customized ramen, and fun drink selection. The silky tonkotsu broth combined with the lightly spicy red pepper paste is just perfect. Will happily return!

Yelp
I liked this place. Not earth shattering ramen. But solid. I like the no fuss and frills. There's no tipping and you just order at the entrance. Then you go to the back and can eat at your own booth or put down the walls if you're a group. Food was served quickly. I got toots ramen for $22. I'm filled. I like the medium amount of spice. It was the perfect flavor addition. Free water fountains around. I like the instructions in front of you to learn Japanese phrases.

Yelp
The OG Ramen experience that you'd expect to get if you were literally in Japan BUT right near Times Square!!! I love it here omg. Come before lunch time to avoid the wait because the restaurant is set up basically in booths but if you're eating with someone, you can put up the divider. I believe I got the signature ramen and got extra chashu. Overall, an amazing experience with authentic ramen. I felt like I was in Japan :')

Yelp
Great ramen and a cool experience, but felt really expensive given it's ramen and supposed to be a working persons food. Ambiance is like nothing else here in America with the sitting solo and not talking to anyone and that is really cool. Don't like how you get nickel and dime'd for everything. Was $29.40 for bowl of ramen with an egg and one other side, and this is with no tip which they tell you they don't accept. It's cool for the novelty, but didn't feel like it was the best ramen I've ever had, and it damn well better be for it to be $30 without tip.

Yelp
Menu is limited but that's the point. I want the tonkotsu ramen and they do it perfectly. Really great soup, which you can't order extra of. For $24 a bowl of soup, seems expensive but with no tipping policy, it's actually decent value for midtown Manhattan

Yelp
We waited for about 30 minutes to be seated, a staff told us they had a flooding issue a few days before and are still fixing it. The wait was all well worth it. The ramen is so flavorful and noodles were soft but chewy. The pork was well seasond, and the matcha pudding is good as well. This is not a chit-chat restaurant. Staff and customers are all "in business"... you eat and leave. My company's counter was opened twice by the staff to check if she was done with her food. This is the only thing I did not like, it makes you feel you are getting rushed in finishing your falvorful soup.

Yelp
The place to be! It's tucked away near Times Square. I wish they had a location in the Bay Area but I'll take it if it's across the country (I guess) HAHA. 8/10. The ramen is surprisingly light compared to others I've had. I recommend purchasing the other toppings ($30 altogether). Noodles are perfectly al dente and complement the rest of the bowl so well.

Yelp
I've dreamt of this restaurant since visited Japan. This was a must for us and perfect location close to our hotel. We came exactly as they opened and so we were seated immediately. The employees were just super in helping us with our order, seating and swiftness of preparing the food. We both ordered the original and an iced matcha. I must say that this is one of the most perfect bowl of happiness. Start with tasting the soup without mixing the spicy paste to appreciate the depth of flavor. The noodles cooked medium were perfect bite. The iced matcha was nice refreshment that contrasts the noodles, also not sweet. Ambiance is modeled exactly as the Japanese counterpart, private booths but can take it down as needed. Water machines available. Recommend!!!

Yelp
Don't go during the summer... it's too humid to wait in the long line... Over priced ramen, quality is pretty similar to many places in the city, service was quick, good for a solo dining experience Got the recommended tonkatsu ramen which was somehow $30+. Mid ramen honestly, I chose all the recommended stuff and it was too salty. Matcha pudding was expensive, but I would go back just for another bite

Yelp
First time here. I was celebrating my new job!!!! Yeiiii and randomly picked this place !!! Great option!!! Japanese ramen. Service was extremely kind Price $$$ I did Tonkatsu Ramen mild but then I asked for double spicy sauce and was perfect for me. Noodles , boiled egg, toppings, pork beef , broth... everything was delicious! Fresh, perfect temperature I also had an Asahi beer.... Special thing here is that you have a cubicle to eat. You have to wait for your order and when it's ready, a Courtains&Blinds in front of you is open and the server give all to you. You have a button to push, if you need anything else. Water is free and refill .... Average noise but comfy. Ambience is nice A very nice experience...

Yelp
By far the best experience I've ever had if you're in the neighborhood, this is a must that you come here you will not be disappointed. The whole experience is a vibe. The food tasted so good. I even purchased a noodle packet to go for 29.99 . The service was amazing as well. We only waited like 25 minutes and we were seated in our seats. Trust me you must come here. There are only two places that have this type of food and type of style of eating one in New York and one in Japan.

Yelp
An introverts dream! Individual seating with partitions separating diners (partitions can be removed if dining with a group). The vegetable ramen was outstanding (only 2 options of ramen, pork and veggie). Visited on a Friday evening, waited apx 20 minutes for seating and apx 10 minutes for my food. Great service, amazing food, short wait time...I will definitely be back!

Yelp
It was a really fun experience! We lined up for a bit before being assigned our individual cubicles. The food came out pretty quickly right from the screen and there was basically no other interaction with the servers. It wasn't silent since people still talked to their cubicle neighbors but it was no where near as loud as a normal ramen restaurant. The ramen broth was rich but I hoped for a bit more meat considering the price. I also got the take home ramen kit

Yelp
The ramen is good but it is definitely overpriced. I wouldn't say it's the best ramen I've ever had, but it's decent. I don't really get the hype surrounding it, but I think it's worth trying once. The matcha pudding was amazing and would definitely recommend trying it, despite the hefty price tag.

Yelp
The best ramen I ever had in my life! The experience was so unique but it was amazing. I've seen this place all over TikTok and I've been wanting to go and it just exceeded all my expectations

Yelp
My first time going to an ICHIRAN ramen. I really wanted to try this in Japan but really enjoyed this New York experience. Service was prompt and the host assists you with the process which included ordering on an iPad, collecting your order ticket, and lining up to be assigned a individual stall to obtain and enjoy your ramen. There's a button to call at staff at any time and water is self-serve. The ambiance seemed authentic but also catered to groups. My understanding is that typically the stall walls are not foldable and you must eat in your individual stall. However, the stall walls were foldable and you are able to chat with your group! The Tonkatsu Ramen Classic broth was very good and you can customize the broth and noodles to your preferences. The spice is a very good flavor and not just chili oil. I recommend going for medium or a little higher. You can also taste and ask for more while you are seated.
