The 10 Best Ramen Spots in Tokyo

"Ichiran is a ramen chain specializing in pork-based tonkotsu ramen — thin noodles surrounded by a milky, sweet broth topped with sliced pork." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Venice Ramen Review - Marina Del Rey - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Venice Ramen is a small ramen counter on Washington Blvd. that's smack dab on the Marina Del Rey/Venice border. The Tokyo-style ramen here isn’t flashy, but the deeply flavored broths and handmade noodles make this one of the best bowls of the Westside, if not all of LA. Tonkotsu ramen is the house specialty, but if you want something lighter, try the fantastic Chuka Soba: tender-chewy noodles in a clear pork broth topped with chashu, scallions, bamboo shoots, and a hard-boiled egg, which the owner will tell you is the way it’s done in Shibuya." - Garrett Snyder

An introvert’s dream restaurant. Even if you aren’t, the ramen is solid. I had it my first night in Tokyo, and this is a no nonsense spot. After you pay at the machine in front, you wait for a spot to open, and then you get seated on a counter spot with a semi-closed curtain in front of you. Your food comes out, the curtain fully closes, and you can eat your meal in peace. They’re also pretty responsive if you need something else. Great intro meal to start the trip, but I realized it’s a pretty big franchise. Even still, it’s a pretty good franchise.

long queue outside the restaurant for almost 1 hours (even after 10pm - not the peak hours for dinner) ; but it’s still worthy to have such delicious ramen i love the thin noodles texture and the tailor made flavor for your own preference

Amazing ramen in Tokyo (even if it’s a chain, it’s probably the best we had in Japan). First came at 9pm and had to queue around 40min, totally worth it. Second time we came back around 10.30pm and there was no one, open 24h. Experience is really fun

The taste is truly exceptional—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The tonkotsu broth is creamy and full of depth, and the noodles are cooked to perfection with just the right texture. The ordering process is smooth and allows for customization, ensuring every bowl is tailored to your preference. The solo dining booths create a unique, immersive experience, allowing you to focus solely on the delicious ramen in front of you. The service is efficient, and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended for an authentic ramen experience in Tokyo!

Initially I didn't intend to go to this ichisan ramen. The first ichisan ramen that I visited had too long queue. Then, I found there was another ichisan ramen nearby. I didn't need to wait inconveniently in a long queue. Instead, they gave me a ticket so that I could come back when my number arrived. It took me around 20 minutes until I could enter the restaurant. The ramen is tasty and quite affordable. The waiters are helpful and they do speak English. There is also a place to put my jacket. As an introvert foreigner, they minimize the necessity of interaction by providing some unique wooden board (pictures are attached). What a heaven for introvert foreigner!!

We went 4 times, it’s that good. There was an easy queue system up top on the street level. Ordering was easy downstairs on the machine, followed by a paper to customize noodle texture and broth flavor. The food came out hot and quickly!

Damn last meal in Japan. Corny forsure, but it had to be late night Ichiran run. I don't even care. Ichiran is that dude. I went for my career high of spice this time at a 5. Honestly I handled it pretty well, I thought it'd be worse. Light work. Shoulda gone for a 6. Sometimes I forget I’m a straight sewer rat. Ichiran being open 24 hours is actually such a cheat code. If we had 24 hour Ichirans in the states I would legit be living in here. Although, I pay $8 for a bowl here and $24 in New York, so I take it back I wouldn't be living in here. While it's a chain, Ichiran is still an easy 8/10 ramen. Not the best I had on my trip, but it just gets the job done. This review was brought to you by 4 Negroni's at the Cerulean Tower bar in Shibuya. Homeboy at the bar makes a fantastic negroni. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Definitely a must visit to one of their chain store to experience a uniquely Japanese style vibe. Waiting time was more than 30mins on Tuesday night 7pm. Our hunger straight went away when we tasted the delicious broth of ramen. It was so flavourful. The way of seating is designed for lone diners but you can close the wooden plank beside you if you like to have a conservation with your friends Although you cant really see their face of the staff inside but you can feel the sincerity when they bowed after serving the food to you.
