Was excited to try this place and made reservations well in advance. When we arrived there was some confusion with reservation, but staff was quick to resolve the issue and was able to seat us within 20 minutes. Place was incredible busy because we went on a Friday night and it was Valentine's Day. Because this place was so busy it felt a bit cramped so the atmosphere wasn't the best when busy and we couldn't see or hear performers because we were sat in area away from street side.
Although super busy our server Elberto made sure to make us feel welcomed, checked in frequently with us, and made sure all our orders were perfect. I saw Elberto working hard on a busy night and appreciate for taking the moments he could so that we could feel cared for. For fresh seafood, the food was affordable and the seasonal grilled fish was my favorite meal item. The lemon caper sauce with the slight crisp of the fish was one of my favorite preparations made with a seabass. Grilled oysters Sa, Ignacio and Babi Falsa were delicious and local to area so it was my first time trying oysters local to Cancun area. Shrimp skewers were also good and had a a large portion of some juicy shrimp. Overall was good experience I would just recommend going when less crowded.

The best seafood restaurant in Playa del Carmen. There is little space and it is better to book a table in advance.
Good but slow service. And excellent fresh seafood. I liked everything I tried. Especially fresh oysters. There were three variations of fresh oysters from the cold Pacific coast and they were all delicious.
Grilled oysters are great too.
Soft full of flavors octopus.
Fair prices. But be careful with lobster and whole fish. The price is per gram and the total cost may be unreasonably high.

Ictio is one of the best priced seafood restaurants that deliver excellent quality and service. I had the mixed ceviche that was delicious in a coconut milk broth. Everything was very fresh and delightful. I also had the oysters rockefeller and those had some type of cream sauce that made it perfect. The dishes were presented beautifully as well. Their drink specials were on point and priced correctly. The servers were personable and professional. I will be back to Ictio when I come back to Playa del Carmen 💓

Found this small place and super happy we did! A true gem. Everything we ordered was fresh, appealing, and super tasty. Definitely one of the best seafood places in Playa del Carmen. A definite must!!!

The most delicious food we’ve tried on this trip! Tasty oysters, a small menu, but everything is fresh and well-prepared. The downside is the very slow service - we spent 2.5 hours in the restaurant, mostly waiting… It’s better to book a table in advance, the second time we couldn’t get in because all the tables were reserved.

I started with all three types of their oysters. They were super fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed them, especially the larger oyster—it was amazing. For my main dish, I ordered the octopus, and I found it to be perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The salad was great too. The server who attended to me was very friendly and polite. I might go back tomorrow for happy hour to enjoy more oysters!

This is a nice small seafood restaurant not far from the main street. The food and drinks were very delicious and well-made. We enjoyed ceviche, octopus, jumbo shrimp, Seabass, guacamole, plantains, and many more.
The desserts were good too but we had to wait for some reason an extra 30 minutes to get them.
The place is fairly clean, the service seem to be a bit on the slower side. Prices not cheap by any means.

This is a top choice for fresh seafood in Playa del Carmen. I think the most special thing to get is the whole grilled fish, but everything was great: Calamari, shrimp skewers, crab taco (went twice in a week). And the margarita was amazing…I think drinking it was one of the single best moments of my life.
