A tiny restaurant with many flavors. Literally 5 menus to choose from. Coffee, ice cream, treats, drinks, smoothies and limited food. It’s like a Dairy Queen but better.

Google
Little ice cream shop with a nice, shaded outside seating area. We tried the Affogato (with a churro on the side), the Churro Sundae and the Banana split (with no whipped cream). While the coffee and the churros were really good, the icecream was thicker then a usual soft serve and not very sweet. Overall they have a limited variety as far as toppings and ice cream (no vanilla and chocolate twist) and the day we went they were out of chocolate ice cream too.

We all had ice cream cones and they were good. The ice-cream seemed really creamy and nice. Would recommend coming and checking this place out.

Icy Cup is always great. We live in Highland and wish we had a place like this in our ‘hood. Check out the farmers market on their lot. So many good, local offerings. And the owners are fantastic! They truly care about the local community.

I have been going here since the very beginning when they first open their shop. My father and the owner became very good friends and me and my siblings and fiance' were regulars. It's so nice to return after 4 years to see them expand their menu options and the various food selection. I took my oldest brother up here today and the owner was as happy as ever to see us again I love the atmosphere and food and people keep up the amazing work.❤

If you love ice cream 🍦 this is the corner shop for you . I feel the prices are decent and the staff is helpful and pleasant. Outdoor seating is somewhat enclosed and out of the sun 😎🌅. Enjoyed!

Icy Cup is a great local hole in the wall. We ordered the churro cups and they were amazing. Could not finish as it was so big. The atmosphere is eclectic and more akin to a greasy spoon.

Yelp
Everyone in the shop was so kind, prices are solid, and the ice cream was awesome! Icy Cup is a really lowkey ice cream shop, that also serves a pretty big list of classic grab and go foods. I just had the churro sunday, and it was great!! I watched them make the churro fresh after I ordered it!!

Yelp
Still a great place that I am happy to see to have survived the pandemic. The staff are friendly and quick to serve. We got a cone with a cup and a chocolate dipped cone. Unfortunately, the ice cream was super soft, so we had to eat really quickly to stave off disaster. Not sure if it was the hot temp outside or they didn't make the soft serve less soft. Either way, it was delicious. I noticed that they have food, including tamales, on their menu. I will see about trying the tamales at another visit. This is a great neighborhood gem that gets you cool on a hot day.

Yelp
This place is an excellent little spot to get some ice cream. It is in a refurbished DQ location but has a quirky and chill attitude. They have an outdoor seating pavilion. They serve ice cream, frappes, As well as grab and go sandwiches, tacos and tamales. I got a basic chocolate shake and it was good. This place is a cool little quiet neighborhood gem.

Yelp
This place is so cute and they have a surprisingly large menu! In addition to ice cream (blizzards, sundaes, cones, slushees, etc), they have a tons of coffee drinks, and a full food menu (burgers, tacos, tamales, fries, etc!). We got a churro sundae, cookie dough blizzard, and brownie blizzard. They were all super delicious and were reasonably priced. The service was speedy and friendly. They have a pretty spacious covered patio to eat under. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
They're still open during the pandemic and serving up delicious ice cream. I got the strawberry cheesecake mix in. There's strawberry ice cream and real chunks of cheesecake in it. Plenty of outdoor seating and off street parking. I enjoyed my ice cream in my air conditioned car lol.

Yelp
Walked down to Icy Cup for a treat on this hot Minnesota summer day. You walk inside to order, and right now the number of people allowed inside at once is limited. Inside one door and exit out the other. We got an order of beef tacos, fries, and 2 churro sundaes and took our goodies out to the patio to eat. The fries were so good and crisp, the tacos had big chunks of beef and were excellent, but the star of the show were the sundaes. Loads of caramel at the bottom, vanilla ice cream, and 2 cinnamon sugar covered warm churros stuck right in. I would get that sundae again and again. Can't wait to come back and try the Affogato. They also have burgers, chicken strips, tamales...so much to choose from. Not to mention all the coffee beverages. Such friendly service and awesome food. Icy Cup is a wonderful neighborhood gem.

Yelp
Food: We stopped in once to get an ice cream and were surprised to find a favorite new spot. The food is shockingly delicious; we love the tamales and French fries. Their ice cream is also great! Their prices are also extremely low. Venue: This is the cutest little neighborhood nook ever. There is a small parking lot and a covered seating area. They also have a Farmer's Market on the weekend. COVID Friendliness: You walk inside one door and out the other and only one group is allowed inside at a time!

Yelp
I love walking over to the Icy Cup. Friendly staff. Good local icecream place. Cute farmer's Markey on Saturday mornings and a neighborhood jam session every Tuesday in July.

Lisa S.

Yelp
My first time at this place and it was great! The smoothie I got definitely tasted like fresh fruit. I would recommend going here.

Yelp
A family owned business doing it right. I'm drooling. Churro sundae with warm churros and caramel (basically dulce de leche bomb). My bf got the cookie dough blast - the classic chocolate chip cookie dough flavor we have been craving for ages.

Yelp
The Icy Cup is the heart of the neighborhood all summer long. Kids come by for ice cream cones and blizzards all day and into the evening (the place is usually open 'til 9pm). Parents flock to the Saturday farmer's market here - where you can find anything from vegetables to spices, baked goods, bike repair, vintage trinkets and activities for kids. Most Saturdays a local band entertains the crowd. It is a small but mighty farmer's market. On Tuesday nights you'll see an informal group that calls itself "West Side Soul" and sings tunes accompanied by an acoustic guitar. Me, I come for the affogato and these amazing mexican chocolate donuts that I can't get enough of. Have you ever had an affogato? It's delicious hot espresso poured over a cold vanilla ice cream (soft serve, in this case) and it's all I've ever wanted in a coffee ice cream treat morning, noon or night. When I'm hungry I get the tamales, which are delicious. But the menu has burgers, fries and a few other sandwiches too. The owner, Pompeyo, bought an old DairyQueen and made it special by connecting neighbors and neighborhood improvement groups. He raised funding to add a beautiful mural, expanded the parking lot with seatings and space for the farmer's market. Converted some grassy areas by the curb into vegetable planting beds. It came to life over the years, and shows no sins of slowing down. Come for the ice cream, stay for the love of community. The Icy Cup is closed all winter, sadly, but reopens around the end of March.

Yelp
Love this little place, always give lots of ice cream and toppings, French fries are delicious and the chicken sandwich/burgers are good too. I come here at least once a week! I also love their smoothies. My friend would kill for the churro sundae!

Jazmin C.

Yelp
Had the churro Sunday, sh*t was fire! Enjoyed every bite. If the churros are not made there, they sure fooled me. Super good! Place could be a little bit cleaner tbh! But overall, I find myself always coming back.

Yelp
Excellent ice cream stop! The churro sundae was so deliciously sweet! It had caramel at the bottom with two nice and warm churros covered in cinnamon sugar in the soft serve ice cream. We also got a butterscotch dipped waffle cone, three different icy blasts (Reese's peanut butter cup, m&m, and brownie) and a banana split. They were all delicious but I suggest eating it there instead of taking it to go. It melts very fast. Can't wait to come back and try more food and treats!

Yelp
Such an underrated ice cream spot. Their soft serve is among the best anywhere, IMO. I've also heard they have delicious dilly bars, although I'm so addicted to the soft serve I haven't ever been able to order anything else. The spot looks to be a tiny converted DQ. There's basically no seating inside but a very cute patio outside. Which explains its seasonal operation - they close down every winter, which always makes me one very sad yelper for several months. But in the summer, this becomes my go to dessert spot no matter where I ate dinner. It's that good, and there's something special about its neighborhood charm.

Tori H.

Yelp
Churro Sundae is so awesome. I will be back for sure. It's a super small establishment in a neighborhood, with outdoor seating. I would definitely suggest!

Amanda E.

Yelp
My partner and I were craving soft serve and after seeing the hella long line at Conny's we decided to head over to Icy Cup, a spot we hadn't yet tried. There was no wait, they had a cute patio, and their churro sundae (which we both got) was SO good. The ice cream was thick and almost custardy, and I swear the caramel was home made? It was too thick and delicious to be processed. Highly recommend this spot, we'll be back all summer.

Heather W.

Yelp
Should have posted a picture of my affogato... it was as pretty as it was delicious. The soft serve was great and the espresso was rich but not too rich. They had things nicely social distanced and the not-too-large crowd was cooperating. Have to try something else next time because they had several good looking options including fish tacos. We'll be back.

Yelp
Yesterday I decided to ask for a special request instead of the usual affogato, which by the way is super awesome fabulous. (Their espresso is rich and creamy and over their yummy hard soft serve, you can't lose.) I had them make me an espresso milkshake--a shot of espresso poured into a vanilla milkshake and mixed. Yummy caffeinated perfect way to solve a hot afternoon. Gotta love this neighborhood gem. We always miss them when they close for the winter!!

Yelp
Wish I could give it more stars. I've been passing this place on my way to work for the past few months, and I'm sad that I didn't stop in sooner. Such a cute place with incredible prices, friendly staff, and they have a farmers market on Saturdays! The building is beautifully decorated with painted murals and the seating arrangement outside is both comfortable and suited for social distancing. Would absolutely recommend; am currently texting all my friends about this place right now!

Yelp
Great food, cheap cost, good fun. Hope this place stays and noone tries to ruin the ice cream menu. It really is 5 star service and quality beyond your typical Dairy Queen or any other ice cream place. It is owned by a great guy who puts so much time and effort into making sure customer satisfaction is guranteed.

Kelsey L.

Yelp
ICY CUP ROCKS. The ice cream is exactly the vanilla soft serve you'd expect. They have all the basic DQ type of treats, but the coffee is the real hidden gem here. The owner actually owns a coffee farm in Mexico and serves up coffee from the beans he imports. Its locally roasted at J&S, wow! The outdoor seating is lovely and they donate the parking lot to the small-yet-mighty West Side farmer's market Sat mornings. The Tamales are also really great. Only reason not 5 stars is that the chicken taco was super bland.

Chelsea C.

Yelp
I recently moved to the neighborhood and discovered this little gem. The building clearly used to be a Dairy Queen, and they have a similar menu, but everything tastes very homemade. The farmer's market in the parking lot on Saturday mornings is small and has unique vendors, and I will definitely return for that as well. My favorite thing is the affogato. Soft serve vanilla ice cream with 2 shots of espresso poured over the top. It is heaven. I was going to write a longer review, but something just came up (runs to car and drives to Icy Cup for a treat).
