How FB Society Is Developing Some of DFW’s Most Successful Restaurants | Eater Dallas

"A popular Southern comfort–food spot located in Addison with a second location in San Antonio, this restaurant occupies a tucked-away, 'if you know, you know' niche. The dinner menu is playfully labeled “supper,” signature items include fried chicken and Gulf shrimp and grits, and bartenders run “vinyl hours” playing only records. The dining room channels communal, home-cooked energy akin to a nostalgic local chain but with elevated, accessible food; whimsical touches like an appetizer sampler served on a lazy Susan add to the character. After increased involvement from leadership, menus were refined to feature more fresh vegetables and seasonal sourcing, and most seafood is sourced from the Gulf with select Atlantic items. Gibbons observes that the staff often feel like a curated fit for the brand — people with colored hair, piercings, tattoos, and an independent, maverick streak — a cultural match that helps define the restaurant’s personality." - Courtney E. My husband took me for an anniversary dinner a couple months ago for the first time and I fell in love with the astrology trendy little vibe. The food was so good, and the service was top notch. Every single time I go I try a new dish and it never disappoints! In my last visit we had Alyssa as our waitress and she was so kind, and helpful and knowledgeable when it came to the menu. She just had an infectious smile and attitude and she deserves all the recognition and love for how amazing she is at her job!

Ida Claire's was as charming as it was delicious. The restaurant was fun, funky, eclectic, and tastefully designed. Our server Austin, was very well-informed, and professional. As for the food, it was very well executed and delicious. Our table ordered the Gumbo with crawfish, the Lazy Susan platter (fried green tomatoes, spicy cauliflower, baked biscuits w/ pimento cheese, homemade chips, and sauces) for appetizers. I ordered the Fried Chicken w/pimento Mac n Cheese, and my wife ordered the Salmon w/ a Kale and Brussels salad. The gumbo was solid, and it reminded me of my time in New Orleans. The lazy Susan platter had a lot of tasty options. I liked the biscuits with the honey butter. The Fried Chicken was everything you would want in fried chicken. Juicy, well-seasoned, and a nice airy, crispy batter. The Salmon was cooked perfectly and the salad was a nice compliment to the Salmon. I had a great time and experience at Ida Claire and would recommend this to anyone visiting San Antonio.

We visited on a Tuesday during Happy Hour and found the place charming. The service was great as well as the food. My husband ordered the chicken strips with side of red beans and rice and I ordered the redfish, that was recommended by Katelyn. The fish was delicious and light, my husband’s meal was super filling and just as good, especially the red beans and rice. Thanks to our server Katelyn for explaining the menu to us as first time guest and being so kind. We look forward to returning!

Great food, service and welcoming atmosphere. Our server, Destiny was awesome and took great care of us. I had not been Ida Claire in a few years and it was still a good as I remembered. Their red beans and rice are one of the best I have tasted. The jalapeno cornbread is next level.

This was our first time ever at Ida Claire, so I was excited to give this place a try. Our waiter did a great job of quickly attending to us, even though we arrived a bit late to a birthday party. Food: My husband loves kale, 🫣 So he ordered the Chicken and Kale salad and he loved it. The portion was generous and he ate every single last leaf of it. I, on the other hand, ordered something completely opposite... I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, for dinner! I was anxious to give it a try and I must say, it did not disappoint. The chicken was amazing! It was crispy on the outside, but yet very moist on the inside. Remember my husband... the kale salad guy, well it didn't take long for him to sneak over and steal a piece of my chicken and he loved it too. The waffles were thick and delicious and the two over easy eggs were just right. I ended up taking my waffles home and enjoying them the next day for breakfast. Atmosphere: Rustic and vintage is the vibe I got from them. There was a surprise at every corner. Just when our eyes caught a glimpse of something interesting, we'd quickly get distracted with something else! The outdoor decor was fun and brought back memories of easier days, I just loved it all. Price: It was a bit on the higher end than I'm used to, but it's a place I wouldn't mind going to for those special occasions. Disappointments: You know the feeling you get when you drop in at a friend's house and they were in the middle of an argument with their spouse but you didn't know... but you can feel the tension in the air? Yeah, that's how it felt in there. As I looked across the room, the sentiment was the same... they were doing their jobs but they were not happy. They talked to their customers ok, but they walked around with a very indifferent look on their faces, even the manager had that look. It made for a very uneasy feeling in the end. I hope it was just a fluke and not the norm. In the end we really enjoyed the food and decor, and honestly the food we ordered was amazing. I hope in the future their employees can say they enjoy it too because the truth is, it's not just the food, but it's the people who work there that make you want to return over and over again. I hope to give them a try again soon.

Google
This is the epitome of southern home-cooked food. Whether you were fortunate to have amazing homecooked southern food or are trying it for the first time, this place hits every mark. There were no details forgotten in this concept, and it really shows. Lots of places have great food, but this place really put love in every dish. Nothing on the menu is short of amazing. The staff are great and execute perfectly. The ambiance is perfect southern charm. It's nice, but not stuffy.

Ate dinner on the patio late Sunday evening . The patio is lovely and very large with a huge fan. We sat outside with our dog and the waitress brought a large ceramic dog bowl for water. The food was delicious, server very attentive and our meal was prompt. Cookie jar dessert served inside the ceramic gnome - a must. The chocolate cookies were warm, thick and satisfying.

Google
This place is absolutely adorable, food is delicious (but pricy!), portions are perfect, and staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their menus, offering fantastic recommendations based on my dietary restrictions and preferences! They have a delightful brunch menu, even at 1-2pm, but the menu cycles depending on day and time. Food was expensive, but expected for the area and quality of food, so as long as you are aware of the prices before going, nothing is a huge surprise, nor is it unreasonable. Dining solo with a large Monte Cristo sandwhich for my entre, an upgraded side (I opted for tallow fried french fries instead of a salad or chips), and an alcoholic beverage from the bar, I still only spent about $35 before tip. The ONLY qualms I have are complicated parking (lot is large, but super full), and the noise. It was so loud that I couldn't be heard while I tried to chat on the phone to a friend, and my server had to repeat herself a few times. So if you're sensitive to noise, be aware it can get a little loud.

Yelp
Claudia our waitress was awesome she brought the energy and was a great waitress would even rated this six stars if I could

Yelp
A friend recommended this restaurant. Finally came to try it. I think all their food is homemade. Don't quote me on that though bc I don't remember. Food looked really good but, I'm not a breakfast person. Although, my husband is. His tacos looked really good. He really enjoyed them. All I ordered were was biscuits with homemade strawberry jam. Biscuits and jam were really good. Our server said that they have French toast and waffles or pancakes only on Saturdays and Sundays. Service was great. The inside of the restaurant was really cute as well as the exterior. My husband read somewhere on the inside that they have movie nights out on the patio area. Might come back on a Saturday to try their French toast.

Yelp
I wanted to go here for chicken pot pie for my bday but was only able to get a table for brunch... I hate brunch. There's tight tight parking, people everywhere drinking and being loud. And they didn't have pot pie! They didn't have "country fried ribeye" even though it was on the brunch menu. I had to get a monte cristo but that was more disappointing since it was basicaly French toast with meat and cheese inside. (That's never been a presentation I've gotten when ordering a monte cristo which is deep fried with batter (much like a chicken fried steak, maybe they ran out of flour?) they also RAN OUT of pineapple juice like there's not two grocery stores nearby to restock up!!!??? Services was slow and literally the waitress didn't even ask what I wanted to eat, she just got my drink order...then she comes all the way back around to finish me up. Sooo confusing and bizarre. But ultimately an omen since they didn't have anything I wanted to eat. I had to return the French toast sandwich and that's was it for me in fear they'd be out of something else I thought long about getting or some other disappointment. The place was crowded! It's basically a bar with a restaurant attached. The other members of the party enjoyed their food so there's that for them but me everything was not good and little was done to compensate. I love southern cooking but not so liquored up

Yelp
I love this restaurant always feels like a great environment and a good places to spend time with friends and chat it up. I had idas biscuits, lemon poppyseed pancakes, and chicken and waffles. It was a beautiful meal I recommend trying the biscuits as a shareable. Great delicious flavor I didn't enjoy the gravy but the country butter and jam was a hit! As for the lemon poppyseed pancakes- it was my first time having them and it didn't really meet my expectations. I personally like my pancakes super sweet and this one was lacking that extra flavor I couldn't really taste much on it but it was still cooked perfect and fluffy. The chicken waffles was also a good meal the chicken cooked perfect and juicy as always. Thank you a great meal can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my sons graduation from A school over at fort sam houston. This place was highly recommended. We made reservations but had to change the time a few times and it was super easy on a Monday night. The location is super cute and the staff is very friendly. For our table we ordered the double cheeseburger, rockfish, duck nachos and steal noodle salad. For drinks we had a couple pink ladies and water. The duck nachos were unique and pretty good. Not the best I've had but fun to try. The experience of having the server pour over the gravy and cut up the egg was fun. The steak on my salad was pretty rare, but it wasnt seasoned and just didnt taste good. The rockfish was supposed to be the best thing on the menu but it was just ok- my parents both agreed that the fish was mushy. The burger was pretty good. The pink lady drink was very cute but i didn't really enjoy it. It was too sweet and tart at the same time. We also tried the vice cake. I did not think it sounded good but it actually was!

Yelp
Went in for dinner. Ida Claire is a Favorite for sure! I was able to catch happy hour so I ordered a few appetizers. Would definitely recommend stopping in.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with friends on a Monday night. Beautiful exterior and quaint interior. We sat inside though because it was hot/humid outside. Their menus were so well designed as you can see from the photos. The cocktail menu has 3 different sections to include sweet, spirit forward and refreshing. We chose refreshers given the weather, and they did not disappoint. They cool you down and get you buzzed at the same time. We got the duck nachos as an app. They were generous with the duck and it was cooked super tender. Something about the duck fat enhanced the flavor of the nachos. For entrees we got the fish. Salmon was cooked perfectly medium with a pink center and melted in my mouth. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the snapper. She did not leave anything on the plate. Service was super quick and friendly. Caitlyn checked on us the entire time and put up with my sass. Ida Claire this rating a 5. They are more known for their brunch, so we will come back to check it out in the future.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with this place. The happy hour is incredible. I've gone and gotten only happy hour bites and appetizers and was full and happy. I seriously want to try everything on their menu. My favorites have been the fried chicken and pimento Mac and cheese and the mini biscuits. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Yelp
We finally got to try this place! Made reservations through Open Table. We all enjoyed the French Toast and everyone thinks the coffee-infused syrup made it super good! My brother didnt find anything special with the chicken and waffles, same with the shrimp and grits - which I find the cajun seasoning a bit much for my liking. The chicken with Ida's chicken was huge and moist inside even up until the next day! My son enjoyed the sweet potato fries, it was crispy! The place is huge, and it can get loud, my son felt like he had to raise his voice a bit when talking to someone across the table. Love the place though!

Yelp
I have been for their brunch when they first opened which was great, but oh man, the dinner is amazing! I went with a group of friends and we had several appetizers, cocktails and different meals and tried each others. Every order was out of this world fresh and bursting with flavor! Our server (I wish I remembered her name) was so fantastic and attentive and sweet. I need to come out here more often, even though it's a drive.

Yelp
Very packed but they do have lots of room. The food was good, besides, they ran out of cinnamon rolls I had the brunch country breakfast. There were a few little gnats that kept flying around our tables. That's the only bad thing. Not a whole Lotta parking either

Yelp
This is a very cool spot in The Quarry. I gave this visit a 3 star but it doesn't necessarily have to do with the quality of the food but rather from a few small items that added up. Being that it was Father's Day we knew they would be crazy busy. But, with our reservation we got in right on time so it was a good start. Our waitress and the staff were very attentive throughout the meal. The first ding was the seating. The spot I sat in had an air conditioning duct directly over my head and as soon as I sat down it was dripping on my head. Not a big problem, I just shifted seats and let the staff know. Although the Mgr did come by and wipe down the opening and stated they knew that was an issue The second ding was when we got coffee, they served it to us in to go cups because they had used all the regular coffee cups during the morning. Mind you, we got there at 10:15am. Supposedly they'd bring us regular cups in a few minutes and never did. The 3rd ding was when I got my dish the breakfast potatoes were cold and the Chicken Fried Ribeye didn't have any of the "black pepper gravy" on the Ribeye. It was delicious but missing the gravy and the cold potatoes kind of put a damper on the meal. The actual highlight was the Pull apart Blueberry Biscuits as well as the cheese grits. I didn't make a big deal of it and I'll definitely give them another chance as I will chalk it up to maybe they were a little overwhelmed.

Yelp
The service was excellent, The ambiance was very pleasant. The food was very creative, lots of different flavors and mixtures creating a good balance

Yelp
I visited Ida Claire with a large group of my friends for a birthday recently and had an okay experience. I personally had the *Chicken Fried Ribeye and wished it had more sauce, otherwise it didn't have much flavor without it. My favorite appetizer was the *Crawfish Corn Fritters as it had the most flavor and reminded me of hush puppies. 2 of my friends ordered the *Ida Fried Chicken and it came out very undercooked. BOTH chicken plates were pink on the inside which was unacceptable. Both dishes were sent back to the kitchen but it did take over 30 minutes for us to get new ones, so we just had to get it to-go as everyone else already finished their food. Our server did comp the undercooked chicken which I appreciated. Service made up for the food and our server even gave the birthday girl a signed card from the Ida Claire staff. I do think Ida Claire is worth a try once but I personally would go somewhere else when paying this price point for okay food.

Yelp
Went here for a brunch & it was perfect! Very cute girly spot, I would definitely recommend getting a reservation because it is pretty busy. They have a ton of options for coffee, and brunch! I loved the scramble bowl that I had!

Yelp
A homey Southern food chain that delivers comfort and creativity in every detail! With locations nationwide, this spot manages to feel both familiar and unique, thanks to its thoughtful branding, creative menu design, and cozy, inviting interior. The food and cocktails definitely lived up to the vibe. I was impressed with their cocktail menu, which is cleverly organized by Sweet, Refreshing, and Spirit Forward options--super helpful if you're not sure what you're in the mood for. Every drink we tried was well-crafted and complemented the flavors of the food perfectly. Speaking of food, the Lazy Susan Sampler is an absolute must-try! It's the perfect way to sample a bit of everything, but my personal favorites were the pimento cheese--rich, creamy, and full of flavor--and the fried green tomatoes, which were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or a round of cocktails with friends, this spot nails it with great food, thoughtful details, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Ida Claire has been on my list of places to try for quite some time. A few days ago, my wife and I (both on leave following the birth of our son) decided on lunch here. It was a beautiful late February day, with temperatures in the mid 70s. We opted to eat outside. Although we were waited on promptly, our experience was less than satisfactory. As an appetizer, we had the hummus... Which was good, but not outstanding. Entree orders: my wife ordered gumbo, and a side of brussels sprouts. I ordered half chicken, and a side of gumbo. 10 to 15 minutes after we placed our order... Our waiter came by the table and just happened to repeat our order to us, and it was incorrect. Bottom line: we waited way too long for simple menu items. We gave the benefit of the doubt, but as we left I went inside for the bathroom and saw the restaurant only 1/4 full. There is absolutely no reason our simple orders should have taken as long as they did. To top it off, the patio area has a real issue with bees. There were everywhere. Now, that's not entirely the restaurant's fault, but waiting for it for that long in an arguable swarm of bees was unpleasant. I mean, did they have to go to the store for my wife's brussel sprouts? Or kill and de-feather the chicken? I don't think I've ever eaten that fast to get out of somewhere in my life...and I eat fast. Couldn't enjoy the food because we just wanted outta there. Not going back.

Yelp
I would have given it a 4 but it was so hot! Us long haired people had to put our hair up. Also the floors in the men's RR and area near the office/kitchen area were wet. We saw some workers slipping. They had a carpet blower drying it but was curious why the floor was it. Besides that, the service and food were great. Our server made great suggestions. I had a cranberry mimosa and the hubs had a Manmosa which was a bourbon drink and very tasty. We shared duck nachos and crawfish corn fritters. Wonderful. Our orders included chicken and waffles, fried chicken, seafood pasta, crab cake and shrimp and grits. Humming bird cake for the birthday boy. I'd really like to come back with other friends to try again. Their menu was amazing. I just don't want to be so hot.

Yelp
Yummy breakfast!!!! Loved the hash and eggs. The flavor was incredible. The potatoes were cooked to perfection! My hubby loved his breakfast sandwich.

Yelp
This place was super cool! I got there for "vinyl" hour which is their happy hour but they play vinyl records. I ordered their mango margarita, blueberry mule, gumbo with shrimp and seafood pasta. The mango margarita was good but the menu said it came with chamoy and it in fact did not have chamoy but it did have a cute slice of pineapple and tajin on the rim. The next drink I got was the blueberry mule. I asked if they could make it more on the citrus'y side and they added about an ounce and a half of lime juice. It was sooooo good and refreshing!!! The big complaint I have with the drinks is the amount. They are moderately priced but you get wayyyyy more ice than beverage. The gumbo was realllyyyy good! I just got a cup but next time I'll get a bowl. I loved it. The seafood pasta was a major disappointment. It lacked flavor which I wasn't expecting since the gumbo was packed with Cajun flavor. There also wasn't a lot of seafood compared to the noodles. Some of the crawfish were super chewy. So I wouldn't get the seafood pasta again The bartender was awesome! Super knowledgeable and quick with service. The food took a long time which was odd bc the place was nearly empty and my gumbo which was the appetizer came out at the same time that my pasta did.

Yelp
Loved it. Six of us dined here tonight (Saturday). One couple had been here before and it was a first for us and another couple. We had 4 pm reservations to ensure we could get in. We got seated right away, near the kitchen. Water and menus came right away and a moment later, our server, Valeria was came by. She was very good good to us. She really knew the food, was quite helpful and checked in with us often. To summarize the meal... Pre-dinner cocktails: Cosmo, White Wine, Thrice OldFashioned and a beer. All were great. Appetizers... Two of their Lazy Susan variety platters. A lot of very tasty items and dips. Meals... Three rib dinners Chicken and Waffles Blackened Red Fish The meals were very good. Near the end of the meal, one of our group mentioned that her ribs were black and crispy at one end. Poor thing - wish she would have let me know early on. So one order of charred ribs was the only miss. The rest of the meals were very good as was the service. We'd come back to Ida Claire.

Yelp
This is my favorite. The food is always fantastic. Service is fantastic. The servers here are the sweetest in town, Steve and Rebecca. There are a few more names to add. Management, Tristan, is awesome. If they have a small hiccup, take my word, they will fix it! None of those hiccups will deter me from returning. Just have patience and enjoy wonder food.

Yelp
Mothers Day Brunch! Our bartender/waiter Mr. Chase is on point we didn't have to wait the 2 hours pretty much sit out here and I'll get your service!! Chicken N Waffles shared with my 8 yr. old just enough, double cheeseburger, & low country plate(?). Adult drinks were great

Yelp
This is such a cute spot!!! The drinks were amazing, I wasn't too impressed with the shrimp in grits, But the fried green tomatoes were amazing! I would definitely go back to try something else!

Yelp
Food from scratch. Service and atmosphere: Both were very good. The restaurant is nice and offers many seating options, however, due to its popularity the wait for the table is a bit long. Staff were nice, knowledgeable and helpful. Food and drinks: Very good selection of cocktails and any other drinks that you may fancy. Food was a bit of a hit and miss. - The fried green tomatoes with herb sauce were spot on. The tomatoes were fried very well. Retained nice texture and paired well with the sauce. - chicken fried ribeye dish. The fried ribeye was really tasty and the sunny side up eggs went well with it. The breakfast potatoes were cut into way too small pieces and had not texture and were full of oil. I left them aside after only one mouthful. Unfortunately, our mains arrived more than 50 minutes after we placed the order as the order was not placed on time. Pricing: $$

Yelp
Great food and even better service! Dined with party of 8 so got to try several dishes. All were delicious. Country ham Benedict was good. Not mid Atlantic salty sadly but really good to find in San Antonio which is a country ham wasteland. Lemon poppy pancakes were beautiful in appearance and very tasty. Our server was top notch!

Yelp
First time here, atmosphere was really nice. Like the outdoor seating. Inside, the kitchen was part of the open concept layout. It was cool to see inside. Our waiter recommended the Ida biscuits. They were good, but nothing to rave about. I got the fried chicken, and pimento mac & cheese. I just don't think this food is for me, so I didn't care for it too much. My boyfriend got the Nashville hot tenders, and he said the same thing. The food is supposedly made from scratch, so that's a definite plus. My favorite part of the meal was my blueberry Moscow Mule. It was refreshing and flavorful.

Yelp
If you love a good southern style brunch then Ida Claire is for you! I visited the restaurant on a Sunday around 2pm and the place was packed. They had a pretty large waiting time for an indoor table so we decided to sit outside. Even though it was 92 outside, they have plenty of fans to make sure you were as comfortable as possible. However, I did learn they do take reservation so I'll make sure to do that next time (pro tip!). Our server was super nice and made sure to go over the menu and some of their most popular items. For my first time having brunch here I decided to go with their Nashville Hot Chicken tenders and a side of sweet potato waffle fries. The chicken tenders were massive and absolutely delicious! Please keep in mind their serving portions are huge and I think the chicken tenders plus a side can be easily shared between two people. Overall, I had an amazing experience and will definitely be back but with a reservation!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch mid week, there was a crowd but I was able to sit right away at the bar. The service was excellent. Plenty of craft drinks to choose from and a full bar. I ordered the blackened catfish lunch and it was a good size portion and pricing all seems fair. Fun locals atmosphere. Parking is a bit limited, several spots around back but you may have to walk just a bit. I definitely recommend!

Yelp
Since there was a lot of good reviews I was so excited. Tender was really good! Shrimp and grits was ok. Not impressed. We waited 40 mins for our foods to come. I understand that this restaurant is popular and have so many people but I've been to so many other restaurants which is very popular and I've never waited this long. I

Yelp
This is the experience I had with Ida Claire on 7300 Jones Maltsberger Rd. Was looking for a late lunch and found this place on Yelp/Google, amazing find. The restaurant is located right next to The Quarry (and not in it) so can be a bit confusing; but it is located in a small plaza across from Starbucks and In the same plaza as Grove Hill Fine Women's Clothier. You will see a hand sign that has their restaurant name on it and a black fenced area with a silver dining car with plenty of outdoor seating. The ambience is very lively and has lots of indoor seating, a bar, as well as flat screen TVs for Sports watchers. Ordered the Seafood Pasta and Loaded Sweet Potato Fries. The sweet potato fries are beautifully crosscut w/ pickled red onions and special sauce, mixed as a delicious appetizer. The Seafood pasta were extremely well flavored with plenty of shrimp, crawfish and lobster; I was honestly surprised at how much seafood were in the pasta (most restaurants give you a lot of noodles and little seafood). The pasta tasted wonderful; a must-try if you're a seafood lover. Also like to recommend the waitress Melania. Though she's only been working at this restaurant for 2 months, her enthusiasm, friendly demeanor, and superb service made my dining experience much more enjoyable. Not only was she attentive, she asked the right questions and listened to my cravings and was able to suggest a great combination of food from the myriad of menu items. Bravo! Because of the great food, ambience and the amazing service by Melania, will definitely come back to try more dishes if in the area. Keep up the good work Melania & Ida Claire!

Yelp
So I took my mother and her caregiver to Ida CLAIRE for lunch today. When I called to make a reservation. The gentleman that helped me. I believe his name was. Marc was very polite and professional. I told him that we had a party with a wheelchair, and would he be able to accommodate that, and he said yes. He even explained to me how to get to the wheelchair ramp leading to the front door, because it was kind of hard to find. Our servers name was David and he was very very polite patient helpful, friendly. I can't say enough nice things about him. He brought everything to our table promptly and the food was piping hot We started with the crawfish corn. Fritters that were served with the creole sauce that were excellent. My mother had the creole gumbo, and her sitter had the shrimp and grits. All three of us were given ample portions, and we all three had enough food to take home. Everything came out hot and delicious, and he came by several times to check if we needed tea, refills, or if our food was to our liking. Then we ordered dessert. We ordered the hummingbird cake to share. It sounded like it was gonna be very legit. Here's my only complaint about the entire meal/experience. Once we ordered our dessert. David became slammed with two parties of eight in our section, and either he forgot to put in the order for the cake, or the kitchen was slammed, but I had to ask another time for the dessert . Finally, we had been there almost an hour and a half and I just told the host. We can't stay any longer. Can we get our hummingbird cake to go and then I said, you know what on second thought. Just take the Hummingbird cake off the Bill so he brought a bill. It was $110 for the three of us. So they charged about three dollars for the tea. I pay the bill and then when I got to the car I realized I never got my hummingbird cake to go, but he charged me for it. So my mothers sitter ran inside and they gave us the hummingbird K. We still left with big smiles on our faces. And we'll definitely ask for David when we go back.

Yelp
Great brunch spot! All the food has a southern flair. The tarot card theme throughout the restaurant was very cool. Looking at the menu it seems like happy hour here would be a vibe. They play Vinyls and have food and drink specials.

Yelp
We come here for the Apple Pie! One of the best. We'll ask for a table and let the front person know we're just there for the dessert.

Yelp
Went here for the first time for lunch. It was very busy, which is an indication that it is a popular restaurant. I ordered the Monte Cristo Sandwich with a side salad. I was skeptical at first because the sandwich was covered with powdered sugar and came with a dipping jelly. It blew me away how delicious it tasted. Need to come back for sure.

Yelp
This is an adorable little place in the Alamo Quarry area. The atmosphere is very kitschy and comfortable. They do recommend reservations on holidays and weekends. We were able to walk in and be seated for Monday lunch. Our server was attentive and unobtrusive, ensuring our drinks were topped up and we had everything we needed. I ordered Ida's Biscuits to munch on while waiting for our food. The biscuits were light and fluffy with a crispy exterior. Delicious. I ate the gulf shrimp and grits. I cannot describe how good this savory dish was. I will be going back to try dessert when I have more time.

Yelp
Quick seating for two people on a week day morning. Cute outdoor and indoor decor. The server was kind and attentive. We were sad that we barely missed breakfast, but the food was still delicious. A little pricey for the quality and portion size. The fried chicken was super crispy on the outside and the dark meat was moist on the inside. The white meat was a little dry. The watermelon salad was extremely refreshing and flavorful.

Yelp
Came in for brunch and the food was good although service was very slow, but friendly. The restaurant is fairly spacious with lots of seating with an outside seating area; there's also quite a bit of interesting wall decor! I got a mimosa and the Crème Brûlée French Toast. The French toast did have lemon curd and it was heavy on taste meaning it was definitely more lemon-y than I would have preferred but it was good. This is a must try if you're in the area.

Yelp
Choosing a place just bc it's near the airport doesn't always end up being the best decision but this time it worked out. The food was amazing. Portion size was generous. I loved the decor. Not sure what type of southern theme they were trying to portray but it's there. The service was lackluster but at least they're nice. Most items are southern dishes with some fancy to it. This true southern girl loved it. Go give them a try.

Yelp
Ida Claire never disappoints! Their drinks and hospitality was on point! They sat us outside as tonight was a lovely night, our table was a bit unsteady which made some foods a bit hard but the atmosphere made it worth it all I dines with the husband and his aunt this time. Biscuit, gravy, jam 10/10. Best biscuits in town. Fried green tomatoes, 10/10 crispy, yet juicy and their sauce was spectacular! I had lobster Mac & their red beans and rice, by far my favorite red beans and rice, Mac and cheese was amazing, even with the large parts of lobster, however I wouldn't like it chopped a little smaller and really mixed into the Mac! Hubby had the ribs with sweet potato fries, ate it all! Ribs were fall off the bone and succulent! My aunt had the chicken and red beans and rice. She said her chicken and beans were a bit dry, and was not something she loved, she also had the gumbo and had all good things to say about that! The only reason I knocked down 1 star is the aunt was not overly impresses, but we will be back soon!

Yelp
My friends and I have been to this location several times. The Ambiance has a cool little vibe and perfect place for lunch/brunch. Service is always impeccable with a friendly face. Food is normally always good, hot & fresh but, for some reason, on our last trip, several items were highly salted. We did make it aware to our waiter. I then believe a manager came to the table (i don't recall him stating he was) but, he did apologize, stated he would speak with the new chef & thanked us for brining it to their attention. I'm sure we'll be back again however, hopefully this time, the chef will switch up his seasons to reduce people from having to take high blood pressure medication post visit. Lol! Otherwise, always a good time at Ida Claire :-)

Yelp
I'm going to commence by stating that Amanda was an exemplary server. Our cuisine was absolutely delectable and everything was cooked fresh to perfection. The ambiance was inviting and distinctive with every detail. The lemon poppyseed pancakes were absolutely delicious and a must try. Coming in from SC, this was a true delight. We shall return.

Yelp
Such a cute vibe and a great place for a social gathering. The menu is small but pretty palatable options. For some reason, I'm literally addicted to their grits and Brussels sprouts. That's what I order, I've tried others' plates and they're all good, I just really love crave those two things. Service is consistently good!

Yelp
Always love coming here with my best friend when she visits from Austin, it's our little spot. We always get seated right away and everyone is always so friendly & helpful. The food is amazing, we always order a lot so we have options. The food is always delicious but I HIGHLY recommend getting those carrots, so amazing.
