"Meet the only restaurant in Mumbai with a motorbike parked between two tables during business hours. It’s the owner’s, and he’s (almost always) by the bike inside this stuck-in-time Parsi cafe, having a snack, meal, or cup of gingery chai. We don’t know a better way to endorse a place. Ideal occupies a rounded corner in the gorgeous Art Deco Horby View building in Fort’s office district, so you’ll eat cutlets and gravy, spicy-sweet patra ni machhi, and mutton dhansak next to lawyers and clerks. If the owner discovers that you’re visiting Mumbai, you're likely in for a long, delightful chat. " - roshni bajaj sanghvi

The MY World

It's restaurant at corner. I got the recommended dish which was Chicken Dhanshak & Kebabs. It was really nice and tasty. It tastes so mild. Lime and onion is coming with it. It's also nice topping. Their servive is also good and taking care a lot. The shopitself is clean and nice. The value for the price is also good.

A fantastic parsi eatery without mouth watering delicacies. The whole setup and the bike parked in takes you to a different era. The waiter was very friendly and suggested the different options to be tried which all turned out excellent (except the deep fried chicken). The mutton dishes tasted a notch better. A suggestion would be to play some light low volume parsi songs or an instrumental music

Parisian-Iranian Cafes in Mumbai have always been my favourite. I have never stayed in Mumbai for more than a day, and had never missed to have one meal at one of the good Iranian cafés. This time, a 3 days stay would mean that I won’t miss this ritual as well. The first time I visited Ideal Corner, and it took me back the memory lane, with its interiors, food, ice cream soda and the Yezdi bike that went to Ladakh (and I am leaving for my second home, Ladakh, tomorrow)! What a pleasant coincidence! The manager of the cafe and the server uncle were human enough to have the personal touch in the dining experience, which is largely missing now a days. I loved it when the server uncle mildly scolded me to let my food go cold because I was busy editing the photos I took here. I was happy to oblige, and concentrated on my food, with a smile on my face. That’s what outside dining is for me. May be I am getting old! 😄

Going there after a really long time. Since it was a Saturday, it was almost empty. The food was good, but the Sali boti portion was very small. The smoked mutton Pulao and chicken farcha was excellent 👌🏼

One of the nicest old school restaurants in South Bombay that survive purely on the food they serve. I had the Mutton Dhansak with Mutton Kenabs. Delicious! You get a large bowl of Dhansak (a parsee dish with a lentil curry and four decent chunks of boneless mutton) along with brown rice, served with two mutton kebabs. It's all very tasty and good to eat. Tried the Lagan nu Custard. It's like juicy pudding laced with died fruits and almond slivers. Very nice. Tried the Pallonjis ginger soda, which, though good, somehow lacked the bite of the one served a quarter century ago. {Theres a photo remembering Sir Ratan Tata - R.I.P}. Must visit place that brings memories of Old Bombay.

Being a half Zoroastrian, i had my expectations with ideal corner becos we had visited them just to eat the Parsi food, but the food quality, quantity, was good but the tatse was SWEET which is not at all how parsi food taste. So please look afterthis issue.

Ideal Corner serves great authentic parsi food. We had mutton dhansak, eggs on Salli, bun maska, caramel custard, and Pallonji's soda. Every dish was delicious. Service was attentive. It was fairly empty when we went Friday 1PM. They have dishes of the day which comes fast on ordering. Good Parsi food (of course not like mom made it, but still enjoyable). The Chinese is the good old Mumbai street food Chinese variety that all of us Mumbaikars enjoy but which has nothing in common with Chinese cuisine except the name. But all in all this is an old favourite of the family, and my husband and son visit it far more frequently than I do. Service is great...friendly servers who stop to chat, and recommend dishes. It's an Irani cafe so don't get all snotty about ambience...this is exactly how it should be. Have the Parsi favourite of Raspberry and enjoy as it's cloying sweetness washes down the Mutton Dhansak and Salli Botti. A good fried fish with tartare sauce too (their unique version of tartare sauce), and a very tasty fried bheja (brain) that comes swaddled in a fluffy omlette. You cannot be in Mumbai and not visit Ideal Corner. Will visit this place
