Ordered a matcha latte with lavender syrup. Barista forgot the lavender syrup which wasn't ideal. However, the matcha latte by itself is just ok. It isnt very sweet BUT I will not deny that is was very creamy. The staff are very nice though and it is located in a cool skateshop close to ACC and UT.

Google
FYI this is literally just a small coffee bar inside a skate shop. Not good for studying or working. Good for grabbing and going (or staying and shopping). My latte was good.

Kristin Whitman

Google
I tried the cold brew, it was okay. Didn't have sf syrups, cold foam, or forks for my coffee cake lol. Its attached to a cool skate shop but there's no where comfortable to sit just some stools which was disappointing. Probably won't be back😅

Google
The coffee was OK. I had the chai tea, and it was weak. My husband had an iced mocha, and he said it wasn't great. The service is good, and the atmosphere is cool. There isn't much seating, though, so it's a grab and go place only. Parking is rough, too. I wouldn't grab a coffee there again.

Google
such a cutie little place, the coffee is always good and the people are always sweet. i did get a chocolate croissant from there a couple days ago and when i ate it, it tasted like it had gone bad. but other then that the barista make great coffee! 🫶🏽☺️☕️

Google
Lovely coffee, cheaper than most other coffee shops in Clarksville/terrytown. Enjoy the chocolate chip cookies (when available). Baristas are friendly and can handle all the annoying teenage skateboarders. The barista with pink hair was very patient as was the taller one. Would make my daily coffee stop. Parking is tricky; but street parking is available or in the near by garage.

Google
not the vibe to stay (but to go suuure!) finally came to try Idlewild... the coffee was good but the vibe is more catered to the grunge, skater community than the coffee connoisseur. Environment for me influences taste and taste perception. Design is sp important when it comes to food and drink. #1 is human health and safety #2 sounds/ambiance (less is more) #3 seating/design is ideally comfy, cozy, well curated and intentional. I've never resonated with the grunge, ansgty, metal punk vibes but if that's you, you'll probably really like it here.

Google
It’s an unassuming coffee shop attached to a skateboard shop. While waiting, you can look around the other things in the shop. I just ordered a cup of ice latte and it’s super tasty!! There aren’t many seats there so most people just grab and go. The coffee is really good and I would come back for their other drinks.

Peter

Yelp
Great tasting coffee but a bit slowish - took about 10 minutes from when I joined the line to get my coffee.

Yelp
Ever since Idlewild Coffee closed their doors in what was once Native Hostel, I've been thinking about them and it finally dawned on me that I had yet to visit their original location. I had a friend in town and decided we had to make a trek to this location. This is not a sit down and work coffee shop, this is more of a pop-up coffee stand with gourmet pastries. They have two or three stools to sitdown but honestly you should walk around the store and see what catches your eye. I just love the juxtaposition of a skate shop yet the refinement of a carefully crafted latte within reach. The lady working the stand was super nice and they even feature drinks of the month. They have inhouse syrups so make sure to ask about them!

Yelp
We went there based on the Yelp photos... looked like a coffee speakeasy. Apparenlty, that's their previous location. This newer location is still located in the No Comply skate shop, but it's more of a coffee stand with a few tables. The coffee menu is simple - lattes, cold brew, espresso, etc... but they did have a few specialty drinks (like a strawberry matcha) and flavors (like lavender). I opted for an oat-milk latte; my friend got the cold brew with lavender. Unique, huh?! And he shopped around for shoes while we waited on our drinks. They do have wifi, so we squeezed in a few minutes of work. There's metered street parking; the nearby garage is for students, but not sure if it's also opeened to the public.

Yelp
A nice hidden gem where the coffee shop is in a skateboard merchandise store. The coffee and chai tea wasn't sweet at all and the barista was very accommodating with non dairy milk. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
100% perfection! This coffee was amazing! We got 4 drinks and each person loved it, no complaints! I got a dirty chai latte with oatmilk - the chai was subtle, not too strong, sweet, and creamy! The actual location was so cool! The coffee shop is inside of a skate shop, and looked so lux. The location was clean, and spacious. There isn't much space to sit, there were a few spaces, but not much. The staff was great and welcoming! There is a parking garage behind the shop. I was a little confused, wasn't sure if i could park there. It says students and faculty parking, but the gates were open. We parked since we were only going to be there for a few minutes. I don't live in Austin, but when i come back, I will for sure make a trip here! Perfect coffee!

Yelp
Came here with friends on a Sunday afternoon after watching the game at Shoal Creek Saloon down the street. Super cute coffee shop that's inside the skate shop (nocomply). Ordered a cold brew and some ube cookies (supplied by purply) and everything was amazing! The cold brew was the perfect strength, cookies were not super sweet and soft and it was just nice to walk around the shop and look at the merch. If you skateboard, even better lol. They have a fridge of some drinks too if you don't want coffee like coconut water. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and efficient, especially since it was just him helping a group of 8 people. Not a ton of seating though so would go here for to go coffee.

Yelp
Popped in for a quick coffee and was not disappointed. The shop had a really cool atmosphere and the person that made my drink was very nice. I got an iced latte with oat milk and it was fabulous. Will visit again next time I'm in town.

Yelp
UPDATE: This great little shop that had to close in its old skate shop location has a new outpost in the SXSW building! I am thrilled! The building is located between Lavaca and Guadalupe and 14th St. They have a limited menu for now of teas and coffees, and a few baked goods, but I'm told they will soon be adding new items, such as grab and go breakfast selections. This is wonderful in this food and coffee desert near the capital.

Yelp
So good, i love this spot!!!!!! Great coffee great vibes, love the coldbrew and the baristas
google avatar

Yelp
It's a very small car bar inside a skate shop. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was decent but could have been a touch sweeter. There is nowhere within the shop to really sit and hang out, so this is more of a to-go coffee experience. It's fine if you're in the area, but it's not somewhere I would specifically drive to for coffee or meet friends there unless we wanted to shop around in whatever skate store it's inside of.

Brett M.

Yelp
Relaxed vibe. Nice people, great coffee. Service was thoughtful but fast and friendly.

Yelp
Well this place definitely should catch some attention. It's a nice coffee shop / bike shop near the heart of downtown next to a skate park. The store front is nice but is only outside ordering so you can sit inside and enjoy your drink/snack which I don't mind since they're taking the right precautions making the experience 10x better! The pour over was great! I can't complain although I'm sure I'll have to come back to judge it once again since I'm a firm believer of "if it's great, it can't be a one time fluke". The latte was good but my gf did seem to enjoy it so I'll take her word for it. I love love LOVE that they had bougies donuts here! Love seeing local support local so that should earn some extra points right?! Either way enough rambling, just come on by (car or skateboard) and grab a cup of coffee to shred the rest of the day! Lol

Yelp
Idlewild is a cute little coffee shop that's been in my Austin coffee bookmarks for a while now (I feel like I say this a lot in reviews--I should visit new coffee shops more often), and I finally found the time make a visit today! They did a good job with adjusting to COVID-19 standards. You can't go inside, so you have to order by standing outside on the sidewalk. They have a simple menu by the door, so it makes for easy ordering. I ordered a hot cappuccino and iced vanilla latte. Both were...just okay. My boyfriend and I are obviously not coffee experts but merely enjoy going to new coffee shops and trying their different blends and roasts, so I can't give you a technical description on what the coffee tastes like. To me, their coffee is not as unique or memorable compared to some of the other independent coffee shops in Austin. My vanilla latte lacked a stronger vanilla flavor, and I typically like darker roasts. The barista was really nice and friendly, though! I wish I could've gone inside to check out their cool wall art. I will probably come again to experience their other drinks (post-COVID), but for now, these are my thoughts.

Yelp
Came to Austin for a long weekend and found this cute coffee shop that also had a skate shop attached to it. It was just a great experience, the workers were all super friendly and provided exceptional service. All 4 days I got an Ice Chai with Almond milk which was delicious. Looking forward to coming back next time i'm in Austin.

Yelp
Calling Idlewild a "Coffee Shop" might be a bit of a stretch - I prefer "Coffee Purveyor." This just to say that this is not a space to read, set up your laptop, or take a Zoom call. This is a fun counter, a nice staff member, and delicious coffee/ espresso/ tea to-go inside of a skate shop that may or not may be open when you stop it. Don't sleep on Idlewild, though. I got an iced oatmilk latte, and it was so so so....delicious.

Yelp
Cool little coffee shop inside a skate shop. No room to sit and linger but nice espresso and friendly staff!

Joe K.

Yelp
I have been following on IG for a long time. So annoyed at myself that it took me so long to finally try them. Barista was super friendly and knowledgeable. My espresso was spot on and my latte was also great. Will be recommending them to anyone looking for coffee near downtown. While there isn't anywhere to sit inside, there are places nearby to walk to or park and sit.

Yelp
Loved this spot! Super quick service and the ambiance is chill . I would definitely go back for another dirty chai latte and an incredible donut.

Yelp
Great little coffee shop inside No Comply Great tasting coffee and barista skills as a barista myself I appreciate a good Latte we will be back !

Jim B.

Yelp
Friendly folks with great iced coffee on a hot afternoon or a hot, tasty espresso for a cool morning. While I'm not a skateboarder, the No Comply location is always fun to visit.

Yelp
Cute little spot but they kind of missed the mark when I stopped by. I came in and asked if they had batch brew and the girl working the counter didn't know what that meant. This is a hipster coffee shop right? I explained that I just wanted a black coffee, and she rang me up for $3 even though the pics on Yelp showed $2.50. I guess the prices went up. The girl working didn't explain to me that the coffee was handmade from an automatic pourover machine. Cool if I had more time to appreciate it but I just wanted to pop in and grab a coffee and run. I dunno, I just felt like the girl working was going through the motions of the job. For such a highly rated coffee shop, I expected a bit more barista love. The coffee itself was pretty good. I noticed a Flat Track bag on the counter so I think they use their coffee which is my favorite in Austin so far. EDIT: The owner took the time to private message me and explain why they don't have batch brew, and I appreciate them taking the time to contact me. It was more about the experience in the store for me that gave them a 3*, not the coffee itself. I'll have to go back and try the automatic pourover again when I have more time and see if I can appreciate this spot a bit more.

Yelp
Not too impressive. The coffee was okay. The croissant was dry and stale. The staff was very friendly and polite. She was pretty prompt
google avatar

Mahlet A.

Yelp
Great customer service. Fresh coffee. It's inside of a skate shop so you can look around while you're waiting in your drink. Would recommend for tourists and pass-byers. Side note: no seating area!
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
Great concept - horrible service. The coffee is probably really good but who wants to wait a half an hour to get Service. The "barista" was totally out of his depth and couldn't handle having more than three customers in the shop and proceeded to deal with people poorly- oh well

Anne W.

Yelp
Fantastic cold brew. Nice to support a local shop. Very small space, so it's more a grab & go place, unless you're sticking around to shop in No Comply. Easy street parking or a lot around the corner.
google avatar

Megan P.

Yelp
Great Coffee! The latte had great flavor. It was in a skate shops which is super cool but there is no where to sit if that's something you're looking for.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Great coffee and great vibes! I love independent coffee shops and Idlewild is exactly the type of shop I love. We had hot and iced coffees and both were excellent. They use beans from one local and one out of state roaster so it's nice to try different choices. The donuts are also excellent and everything about Idlewild is well curated as far as selections go. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Emerald S.

Yelp
Walked into this place during my lunch break because I was about to fall asleep at my desk. This is a pretty dope spot. There's also a skateboard store in the same location. Derek was working the front and he was very nice and helpful. Updated review: Love that this coffee spot is never super packed and crowded with people and I always receive great customer service. :) favorite coffee spot in Austin.
google avatar

Katie J.

Yelp
Quality espresso. The syrups are simple and not overly sweet. You can taste the notes of the coffee and you can tell they make it properly. Love the vibes of it being attached to a skate shop. Will definitely be back whenever we are in Austin!
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Coffee - great! Kombucha in a can by Oye was yummy. I tried the Prickly Pear. Great board and Vans selection if you're coming in for the skate part. I loved the vibe. Right next to the Graffiti Park.
google avatar

Stephen L.

Yelp
An excellent neighborhood coffee joint. At the moment, indoor seating is limited to a row of chairs lining the front window. The chairs work for kickin' it waiting on your coffee but I wouldn't be comfortable pluggin' in for a few hours. They make small batches of coffee in the morning and then switch to pouring hot coffee on demand closer to noon. I'm a super fan of fresh coffee - always preferring to have the patience waiting on a fresh pour-over than paying to be served something that's been getting stale for a few hours. The wait isn't bad AND they use a scale - ensuring the flavor will make your wait worth it. The barista whomst made my brew was excellent. So, if you're in the area and looking to grab some good caffeine to travel with, I'd highly recommend giving Idlewild Coffee Company a try.
google avatar

Micaela K.

Yelp
I got a much needed no-bullshit iced latte, and the person at the counter was super chill. I hate most of the coffee shops in my area cause they're always overrun with college students and super packed, but this place just had some cool dudes and vibes. I'll be back for sure

Karina S.

Yelp
I am not from the area and wanted to go to a coffee shop around where I was staying. My mom and I drove around trying to find a drive-thru coffee shop that was NOT Starbucks. We luckily stumbled upon this coffee shop on yelp and decided to give it a try! We pulled up to the curb and they had window service because of Covid, which was convenient. The person who took my order was friendly and attentive. My iced vanilla latte with oat milk was not as sweet as the others I've tried, but it had a good taste. My mom loved her cold brew! I recommend trying this place out and supporting a local business :)

Alex B.

Yelp
Low key coffee stand inside a skateboard shop. Good coffee for a fair price. Full disclosure, there's no seating. It's a small walk up in the store so it's for to-go only. Good coffee, we'll be back.
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
Idlewild is not what you expect when you think coffee shop. When they say coffee bar, it's literally a coffee bar (aka, limited seating, but great coffee). I don't recommend it if you're looking for a sit-down place to work on things, however, go if you're looking for really good coffee. They're not associated with Comply (the skate store) but are using a bit of their space so there might be a bit of confusion as you walk in and see a bunch of t-shirts and stuff of the like. The coffee quality is great, but keep in mind, come here for takeout. It might be slow because they make it in small batches. On the day I went, they did not have their pastries out, but I'm told, they have some - will try next time. They did have pre-packaged oatmeal if you're into the quick grab and go breakfast. The parking might be confusing, but you can park in the back lot. Plenty of street parking in the area as well. Because I think there's a room for improvement once they grow, I'm reserving my last star for when they grow. It's owned by a couple of nice guys looking to break into the Austin coffee scene, so come support them! I'll be back.

Yelp
Super cool little spot with ~incredible~ coffee and friendly, cool staff! Found on yelp and I'm so glad I did. Definitely check this place out! Also the store is dope too :)
google avatar

Paul D.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try after having a craving for coffee. Idlewind sits inside of a clothing store so I was a little skeptic. I ordered an iced coffee and was not disappointed. Coffee was great and service was fantastic. I will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Joy S.

Yelp
Tasty coffee! Friendly, hipster staff! We bought a t-shirt at No Comply Skate Shop while our coffee was being made. So FUN!
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
Friendly staff...cool spot with good snacks and pastry options... Good way to start the day loved the superfood oatmeal options
google avatar

Charles D.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best cold brews in Austin, if not number one outright imo. Love the setting - love the vibe. Staff is super friendly and will chat a bit, if that's you're thing. It's totally mine lol.

Andrew K.

Yelp
Great experience this morning! Very good conversation with the barista who was welcoming and friendly which seems rare lately. And good coffee too!
google avatar

Aracelli A.

Yelp
Coffee bar barista was welcoming and friendly . Pretty cool coffee shop inside a skate shop. Would definitely come again!
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
Tiny but cute coffee spot inside a skateboard shop. I had an almond milk cortado, which was tasty, and the barista was friendly.

Sam M.

Yelp
Amazing Latte! While you wait can go and browse their products. If you like your coffee strong this is the place to go!!
google avatar

Kathleen C.

Yelp
Just moved to the neighborhood, our first local coffee shop visit. Cold brew was refreshing, delicious and just $3! Pour over was just as good. All served by a friendly barista.

Sanya S.

Yelp
One of the best chai lattes I've had in the Austin area! You could tell it wasn't syrup-based, and actually incorporated quality spices for the tea. Staff is super friendly :)) will definitely be coming back !!
google avatar

Scott W.

Yelp
Super chill coffee bar with smoothest best tasting coffee I've had. Crazy enough it's so good I don't even need to put ANY sugar in it. They roast their own stuff so got some great variety from super light to really dark.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
I'm so glad we stopped by today. Excellent cold brew and they had coconut creamer available. My friend had kombucha on tap. Wish I lived closer. Will be back.

Yelp
Really cool coffee shop with knowledgeable employees. If you enjoy some quick/great tasting coffee paired with a skate shop, definitely recommend checking this place out!
