IET London: Savoy Place

Interesting mix of external listed features and modern internal conference features but didn't meet my inclusion standards. Steep steps to entrance. Stiff doors throughout and very chilly corridors. Signage so subtle as to not being seen at all if you have certain levels of visual impairment. I was most bemused by the individual screens in the board room. Gave me a small invite into how privileged some designers are. It's a shame there are no sound baffles anywhere to soften the echo of such lofty ceilings and absorb the excited decibels of people seated at tables in a large open room. I highly recommend the facilities management look at the design for the Mindpas 6463 to do some essential retrofitting that will greatly enhance the inclusivity of the building. A touch of colour here and there wouldn't go amiss nor better lighting near the 100 best engineering inventions exhibition so you can see them clearly.

An absolutely fantastic place to have your conference. The facility is very good. Ambience is calm and soothing which is required when undertaking a course. My only feedback to this institute is focus more about Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Help the carbon go down. I recently attended a conference. Every guest was given a lanyard. after the event I tried to return back to the staff at the gates. I was, not so nicely, asked to either take it or Bin it. Just imagine. This place takes 100's if not 1000 conferences / training per year. and the amount of people that attend is incredible. All that lanyard and ID go in bin than recycling. The institute should focus on Reducing Carbon by Reusing - Reducing or Recycling.

IET London: Savoy Place is an excellent venue — elegant, well organised, and in a genuinely brilliant location right on the Thames. The building has a classic feel, but the event spaces are modern and professional, with strong AV setup and clear sightlines (which makes a big difference for talks and conferences). Staff are efficient and helpful, and everything runs smoothly from check-in to the end of the event. If you’re attending a lecture, panel, or industry gathering, it’s one of those places that quietly signals quality. Bonus points for stepping outside afterwards and getting that riverside view.

Excellent services, cafe, facilities for members. Bright Nordic style decor, welcoming staff. Great events here too, Engineering & Tech related!

As a member, the IET is a great place, when I visit London I don't have a base. I frequently stop in for an hour or two to get some work done and have some free tea in the members' lounge. It's very well located next door to the savoy overlooking the river on the embankment.

Lovely venue, fantastic stuff, and delicious food. Also, the opportunity for a workout if you wish to take the stairs to the top floor! (Lifts are available)

Attended a conference here and the facilities were top-notch, efficient, and well organised. It was delightful to see the show pieces in front of the maxwell library.

Great location for members of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and those attending events hosted by the IET.
