We love supporting businesses and wanted to choose a local but nice restaurant for our wedding anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was very intimate and perfect. Ambiance was on point! We went early to avoid crowds and yet it still gave the romantic vibe. The food taste, quality & presentation gave us our NYC souls that fix that we longed for ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. Loved the fact that there was no rush in service but the perfect amount of check ins and attentiveness. Also loved the no rush feeling to leave. Perfect date spot. We stayed about 1.45 and a couple that that been there prior to us was still very comfortable and remained. It is a total intimate romantic vibe spot that I’m sure can get crowded fast but I would just choose early evening if you want that intimate quiet vibe. It was also nice to see a family, parents with two young well behaved children very welcomed and comfortably come in to dine. Our server I think is name was Jefferson (we went 3/30) was very attentive and served us perfectly.

Great brunch, had the chicken and waffles, delicious, had the mango mojito, slamming. My wife had the steak and eggs, delicious, Marco and his wife are amazing host. The atmosphere was beautiful, very nice music playing, very clean, would highland recommend.

My wife surprised me with dinner and this was our first time here! The experience was great, the location was good as well. We parked behind the building in the parking lot as compared to street parking in front. The service was fast! We had muscles as an appetizer and lobster bisque along with it. Both were very good. Their mango lemonade was amazing!! My wife has never had a Tomahawk Steak before and I ordered that. The last Tomahawks I had were from steak houses and were dry-aged so there was a difference. I still recommend trying it however the temperature of the meat (medium rare) was undercooked initially. They took it back and cooked it more for a very good meal. Their sweet fries (sweet potato) were also excellent. We are looking forward to going back to try some other dishes. The staff was helpful, friendly, and positive. They have outside dining as well.

We had an awesome time, it has that NYC vibe and the waitress we had I forgot her name but she was awesome, we were joking with her and she was joking back so she has thick skin and rolled with our shenanigans ! Anyways the place was clean, warm, had an artsy NYC vibe, the atmosphere was great, the staff was above and beyond. The food was great, there wasn't anything that came out that we didn't like,, the burgers were great, just everything was good and I look forward to coming back with friends. It was clean, service was great, atmosphere was great and I highly recommend checking this establishment out, you won't regret it.

Certainly a hidden gem in Middletown! It’s tucked away on a side street, so it can be a bit tricky to find at first (tip: park in the DMV lot). If you’re into posh, moody décor, this is definitely your spot — the vibe is on point. They offer a bottomless brunch, which is always a win. I ordered the pancakes and the passion fruit lemonade, and both were really good. The pitcher of mimosas was a surprisingly generous size, which I appreciated. The chicken and waffles, however, were a bit on the smaller side — I’d love to see a larger portion or maybe a full Belgian waffle instead of pieces. I also wasn’t a fan of the automatic 20% gratuity being added to the bill. If you're not paying close attention, it’s easy to accidentally double tip. It would be better if they gave patrons a heads-up before the bill arrived. Overall, everything was good, and I’m looking forward to going back to try their signature cocktails and dinner menu!

I had an awful experience at Ikaro Restaurant and Lounge, and I won’t be returning. I went for their soft opening, and right when I walked in, they told me they only took reservations, but still let me in. The music was unbelievably loud — it was so bad that I couldn’t even have a conversation with the person I was with. We went upstairs to get seated, and the noise level was unbearable, with a party of eight near us, one of the ladies literally yelling that she found hair in her dish which completely turned me off from the food. The customer service was terrible — nobody came to take our drink or food order for at least 30 minutes, and it felt like they had completely forgotten about the people upstairs. The DJ was blasting music to the point where I couldn’t hear myself think. The space was cramped, and it was uncomfortable just trying to walk around, let alone head to the bathroom. I ordered calamari and a Cosmo in which the cosmo had sugar on the rims like a margarita so I was confused, but after everything that happened, I lost my appetite. I didn’t even finish my meal. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I definitely won’t be going back

Google
This place was really nice! The atmosphere and vibe were very cozy and fun! Their menu is nice and they have some great options. We tried the steak and eggs and the French toast. The steak and eggs were decent but the French toast was so delicious. I also tried the strawberry lemonade and it was tasty. Definitely a spot to try out.

Yelp
Stopped at Ikaro for a quick bite and so glad I did! The restaurant is located in a quiet side street in Middletown with a parking conveniently located next-door. When you arrive, you're pleasantly surprised at how big the place is! they have a beautiful bar with ample seating. Our waitress was working the bar and tables solo but still managed to provide excellent service. Drinks were strong, tasty and pretty reasonably priced. We did not have a bad item on the menu, but I cannot rave enough about their lamb sandwich. A must try!!! It was deliciously seasoned and finger licking good- so good, I thought about it the next day when I woke up lol I would definitely return to Ikaro on a busier night or for brunch to check out the lounge vibe. Add this local gem to your list, you won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch at Ikaro. We got there before the crowds, and I'm glad we did, because they filled up fast! Likes: - Service was friendly and appropriately attentive - The bao buns were fantastic and tasty, with the most delicious short rib filling - Their French toast, a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside affair, is probably among the best French toast I've ever had - My husband loved his avocado toast Could be better: - we were one of the first customers of the day, and yet the table we were sat at was sticky - we alerted the server who immediately wiped it down

Yelp
We came for brunch around 11:00 on a weekday, service was quick and delivered quality food and drinks. Omelette was on point,no complaints. The pancakes were okay. The cappacino was nicely presented, but I think the beans may have been old therefore the drink did not provide strength. I think its nice to have a breakfast option in the area, and the venue is a nightclub type scene therefore I could not expect too much. Mango lemonade was solid. I think management is very kind, friendly therefore this place deserves support and recognition.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance, great food, fantastic service. Generous burgers, great guacamole.

Yelp
The cutest little spot! We were happily surprised they served breakfast and we weren't disappointed. We will definitely be back for lunch and dinner. The server was also saying there is a private room upstairs for parties up to 25 people.

Yelp
Great service! Delicious food as well! I came here on a small solo date and I loved every bit of it. It's self seating and is kind of a bar/lounge kinda vibe. I was a little worried when I first walked in, Starting off the bathrooms were very clean and well kept, that's always a good sign My server was friendly and attentive. And the food and drinks were great!

Yelp
Okay friends, if you are looking for a new brunch spot that has a cool vibe and a trendy ambiance with good music, amazing gourmet food at a ridiculously low price I might add, plus bottomless brunch options this is the place for you!! I was so excited to Sugar Shack Factory because I heard so many great things about it but Im not going to lie, I was worried that my expectations would be too high, absolutely not!! I love the feeling when you go to a hype spot and it's actually for once worth the hype. Let's start with the service. The waitress was so kind and patient. I felt like multiple people helped us with things and I only felt amazing positivity from everyone there. Also the space is bigger then it looks, because there is seating upstairs as well even though when we went they were not sitting anyone upstairs. Everything is also a table not full booths, they have one side as a long open booth running down the whole side of the wall and then tables pushed against it with chairs in the other side of the table. Next the drink options- they have tons of cocktails, coffee drinks, and my fave mimosas. They also have a Monday - Sunday, yes everyday of the week bottomless drink option for $40. Yes $40 and you get a full appetizer, entree, and all you can drink! On the weekends the all you can drink options is only for regular mimosas but on the weekdays you can do mimosas, bloody mary's, sangria, red, and white wine. It is honestly unbelievable that it is so cheap. Now to the food, it was incredible. I got the eggs benedict where the eggs were cooked to perfection, the meat was actually seasoned (*chefs kiss*), and potato's were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I literally ate everything on my plate. I love how they presented too, you can tell that presentation means something to them and i appreciate that. The dish also came with a small green salad that was delicious as well. My friend and I did not do the bottomless option but ended up getting a pitcher of the passion fruit mimosa to share between us. Yeah we couldn't finish the 1 pitcher! it was that full and that potent. They definitely are not skimpy on the liquor. Also, I will say that I loved the mimosa but just a heads up my friend liked it except for the fact that it had actual seeds in it. So if you don't like things floating in your drinks I would skip the passion fruit mimosa but they have like 5 other flavors you can choose from I also had to take picture of the mini hot sauce bottles they give you because they were so cute. All in all I have only raving reviews for this place literally nothing bad to say at all. I loved it so much I am planning on going back next week, it was really that incredible! Update I went back for the bottomless brunch and I got the sangria both white and red which were so delicious as well as the salmon that had a poached egg ham and Brie on it. It was all absolutely amazing 10/10

Food was fantastic. Had the strip with potato croquettes. Ceviche was amazing as well. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I really like the way the place looks and the location. We went for brunch on a Monday at noon. There were two girls on the floor. It took a good amount of time to get drinks but they were delicious. I got the tiramisu martini and loved it. We put in the nachos and didn't see our server again until after we'd received and started eating them and then we were finally able to put in food. The nachos were super disappointing. $12 for some stale tortilla chips, shredded cheese, jalapeños, and a couple black beans thrown on the plate. I'd rather they cost more to not suck. When our food finally did come it was good. Everything was well portioned and tasted good. I asked for hot sauce for my egg sandwich and was handed the cutest tiny bottle. The fries weren't great but edible with sauce. I would like to go back to try their dinner menu but wouldn't go back for brunch unless someone else really wanted to.

Rob B.

Yelp
Most of the food was very good. Some of the food was just average. The Ambiance was above average for this area. The service was just ok. Me and my wife felt like the "kids were running service while their parents were out of town." We will go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Had an amazing steak there. I heard they got a liquor license. We have to get back there

Jizelle E.

Yelp
Finally paid a visit to this spot for Saturday brunch. My friend got the short rib Benedict and I had the steak and eggs. Both were delicious. The service, food and ambience were so good. Also, it's so clean in there--Unlike some other brunch spots around. Would absolutely recommend.

Yelp
The food here was DELICIOUS !!! So it's in a random side street in Middletown I'm guessing near where the. Orange County DMV is or was. Either way there is plenty of parking in the 4 hr parking lot. The inside is very nice and decor is on point for the size and dimensions of the restaurant. The drinks are good and strong. I had the spicy margarita and it was so refreshing. I could not taste the liquor but I most definitely felt it. The food. Chile !!! My husband and I shared the porterhouse steak for 2. Not only was it a good serving but cooked with such flavor and grill taste that the greedy me could have finished it by my self. Thank God for the skinny me taking over these days. The Mac and cheese was delicious and mashed potatoes were good as well. One of my sons had the short ribs and that fell offffff the bone. So tender and seasoned to perfection. My other son had the burger which I was too full to taste. The calamari appetizer was so fresh with very little breading which I loved. I will most certainly be having a girls night out here. Service was wonderful. Love finding these random treasures.

Yelp
Very good food and vibes. Great addition to the area. We have been a few times and very consistent.

Yelp
Enjoyed a fabulous and DOG FRIENDLY on the patio under the umbrella. We were greeted promptly. Our service was five stars the whole meal. CeeCee always had a smile and was attentive. We wanted unsweetened iced tea, which they don't have, so she went the extra step and brewed it for us and put it over ice with water! The vanilla lattes were perfect with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. Patio seating is perfect if you have a dog because the street is closed to through traffic. See pics for our dishes which couldn't have been more delicious. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
This place was absolutely phenomenal. My fiancé & I came to celebrate Valentines days together here , let's say all expectations were met! Highly recommend!

Kristina B.

Yelp
This was my second time here and It was even better than the last time! Food was exceptional as always! Blueberry martinis are to die for. Highly recommend!! Mussels, calamari, steamed buns, lamb chops, short ribs, guacamole... i can just list the entire menu because everything was phenomenal! And Jeanine and Laura are THE BEST waitresses on the entire planet. So attentive. Even though they were the only ones attending to a very busy restaurant, we did not feel forgotten. Everything came out quickly, they constantly checked on us. And we were a group of 12! I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Luis A.

Yelp
The Greek salad here is so good. I honestly have only had that here. My teen has the burger and it' gets his approval. My other kids love their pancakes.
google avatar

Yelp
Went for the valentines dinner special and it was really good! My husband got the duck breast (not pictured) and it was amazing, juicy and tender. The mushroom ravioli was so good too. The only complaint is the risotto portion was pretty small and didnt have much of the vegetables in it. Also it took like 20 minutes to get the dessert for some reason but it was good once we got it.
google avatar

Lynisha L.

Yelp
Please don't get the steak and eggs ! This is the first salty steak I've tasted. It taste like it was marinated in salt water. The eggs are salty as well.

Nicolas G.

Yelp
came here with my friends last week. I must say props to the chefs in the kitchen. They know EXACTLY what they are doing when it comes to savory delicious meals. I ordered Steamed Buns, Crispy Calamari, a Prime Rib special which was on offer, and for dessert I had a delicious Bread Pudding. The service was perfect, as even though it was pretty busy when we sat downm, our server met out every need, even when we had quite a few questions about items on the menu. One of our group has an uncommon allergy, and another one of my group is Gluten Free. The server was able to answer nearly every question we had and made sure to check with the kitchen regarding the allergy. (Thank you so much Janine!!!) The bartender delivered some amazing drinks to us, and kept our glasses ful the entire time. Overall, an amazing experience. It's a little bit on the more rich side of pricing, but that is to be expected, and was WELL worth the money spent. The overall ambience was cool and relaxing. For a relatively hidden place, this restaurant is doing amazing. Needless to say, we WILL absolutely be coming back soon.

Yelp
I had a birthday brunch in their private party room with a party of 30. Off the bat, Nina was very communicative and helpful, which I was hoping would mean the brunch would be wonderful, however that was not the case. When I visited the restaurant 2 weeks ago, they assured me the room could fit 30 people with no issue. When we got to the restaurant today, there was enough seating for 20. We were scrambling to figure out seating for everyone, and the wait staff had to find extra tables to put in the room only after the guests all arrived. The service for food and drinks was terrible, everything took a long time to come out, if at all. Additionally, most of the food was bland or even cold on the inside. And we had three appetizers not come out (which at this point most people had finished their appetizers minus the unlucky three) and when we asked if our waitress could check the kitchen, we were given attitude. Then once we moved on to entrees, they came out very sporadically, and once again there were a few that did not come out at all. When we informed the waitress multiple times that people were completely missing meals she said ok and still never brought the food. Finally she told us that according to the kitchen, the food had already been sent up, despite four people not having any food in front of them, and even then had an attitude. We were told we had the room from 12-3pm, and the missing four entrees came around 3pm. Overall, would never have a function again as they cannot handle a larger party. Very disappointed about the lack of service and chaos.

Dee N.

Yelp
This is my second time coming here and the service was phenomenal. The waitress is very attentive and knowledgeable of the food she is serving. The music and atmosphere is upbeat. The white sangria was refreshing and delicious. My fiancé also said his red sangria was refreshing and delicious. The food is on a whole different level. The presentation of the food was very interesting and the taste was amazing. Like I said in my first review. This is a must go to restaurant. You will not regret. This place should be rated 10 out of 10.

Shes F.

Yelp
This restaurant is Middletown best keep secret I advised everyone to come and if they want great vibes good food and an awesome bartender to get you right IKARO is the best

Ashley W.

Yelp
I have to say, this cook knows what he's doing. One of the hardest parts about living in Middletown is finding a nice restaurant. I can say for sure now that Sugar Shack is a worthy competitor for date nights, brunch gatherings, or just a casual lunch. I've come here at least four or five times, and the taste, presentation, quality, and service has reached beyond my expectations. Each time, I've tried something new and each time it's been great. Today I had salmon tacos and carrot cake. The salmon was juicy and tender with multiple layers of flavor from the cole slaw and sweet corn shells. I wasn't expecting too much from the carrot cake, but it was light, moist, and had an unexpected hit if citrus. This is a high quality establishment with a lovely ambience. Definitely recommended.

Marian S.

Yelp
I just came back from brunch at this restaurant. Everything was wonderful! The staff was friendly, patient, and accommodating. The outdoor patio and entrance was so pretty and welcoming. The food was very good and attractively presented. (The French Toast was a taste sensation!) The owner of the restaurant took time to stop at our table to make sure we were satisfied with our order or needed anything else. This was a wonderful, relaxing dining experience. A hidden gem in the heart of Middletown. I highly recommended it !

Cathy M.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Server was great very welcoming. The food is amazing. Not like any meals in Middletown, more of a city taste and feel to this place. I will def be going back.

Andres T.

Yelp
Ikaro is a fantastic dining spot with exceptionally friendly service. Their mac and cheese is a standout dish, creamy and delicious. The warm atmosphere and attentive staff make for a delightful dining experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Food was great and so was our server. Our server was so sweet and attentive. The corn pudding is a must !

Yelp
Visiting from California and always looking for good restaurants. Found Sugar Shack Factory on GOOGLE. I wasn't disappointed. The pistachio nut shake was awesome. I had the Cheeseburger with caramelized onion, special sauce and what I believe we're homemade gargantuan pickle slices and cheddar cheese. The fries were excellent. I could only finish half of the Cheeseburger. My dining companions had the Chicken sandwich. Also outstanding. We will definitely be back.

Peggy G.

Yelp
I went here with my daughter on 3/17. There was a strange odor when we first walked in that was something like septic, but we either got used to it or I was wafting. My daughter had steamed buns and a cheese burger, she like both. I had a salad and the prime rib special. The prime rib had a sauce on it. I asked the waitress what it was, she said she didn't know but would check, and she came back and said "beef sauce" I said excuse me ? She then went to talk to the manager and he mentioned steak sauce. I said you wouldn't have steak sauce on a prime rib. Then he said no it wasn't steak sauce, but they couldn't tell me what it was because of a language barrier with the kitchen. I then asked what if I was allergic to it, and he said they always ask about allergies, as they hadn't asked anything about that and couldn't even find out the name of the sauce that seemed like a bizarre answer. I kept the prime rib and it was ok...not what I thought I was getting...the prime rib was 65.00. Way over priced...the waitress put a 20% tip on the bill. I asked about that and was told they always do that. I would have given the waitress the 20% anyway because I could tell she was new. But I am disappointed and won't be going back to this place.

Kim M.

Yelp
i just came here for brunch with my sons and we all had the best meals! We started off with the sweet buns which was very good. My smoothie was refreshing and he was able to make it with non dairy milk as well. We all had wonderful expresso's too! Loved my steak & eggs! The steak had great flavor with a chimichurri and cooked to my liking! My youngest sons french toast was my favorite. The best l ever had. My oldest had the healthy Protein Break Fast which was very good. Our eggs were cooked perfectl! Our service was superb! He was friendly and promp! This is the first time l came here since the new owner and glad we did! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Mandi D.

Yelp
Checked it out on a whim and it was delicious! The scallops and mussels were excellent. Will definitely be back, especially once they get their full liquor license.

Florence K.

Yelp
a little pricey for midddletown.....they're open for breakfast ... but not many breakfast options to choose from......after sitting for 30 minutes...2 mimosas in .....waitress approached to inform our meal Was taking a bit longer because she had to see if chef could honor our request of no caramelized bananas ....but strawberries instead on French toast ....TF....yeah no.....not coming back

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I've been to Sugar Shack several times now and each time every course has been spectacular. I had warm corn pudding topped with the best scallops I've ever eaten. The starter of grilled octopus was worth a trip by itself. If you're looking for an amazing meal please go try this place!!! Add this to Middletown's fine dining choices!

Doyel S.

Yelp
Best food in Middletown had the duck plate and it was amazing. My uncles had a sirloin steak
google avatar

Brenda H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service and the food was amazing!!! Presentation of the food was gorgeous...and if you don't want to dine in they have Door Dash option.

Melinda W.

Yelp
Food service and ambiance was better than expected. This is a hidden gem in Downtown Middletown

Jeimi T.

Yelp
Food took forever to come and it was cold. Does not reflect the prices of what I had to pay. I don't recommend.

Johnnie S.

Yelp
I went for brunch and the food was delicious. We also did the unlimited mimosas for $15 and the glasses were never empty. The music was great and I already knew I was definitely coming back before I even finish my food. Definitely try the eggs Benedict with braised short rib. Ayana was our server and she was very attentive.

Shannon H.

Yelp
I have had food three times from here -- twice takeout and one dine in. All three times the food has been absolutely amazing. Their brunch menu and dinner are both fantastic. Service is really good and the aesthetic of the restaurant is great. More a modern setting. It's very clean and clear they renovated recently.

Jenny G.

Yelp
Beautiful landscaping ! It definitely welcomes you in. Cute little shop, staff was pleasant and helpful. Icecream was good and reasonable prices.

Alban B.

Yelp
WAY over priced for a bite of food. I ordered calamari and it came out in 3 minutes obviously microwaved. It cost me 15$ for a tiny box of soggy nonsense. I also got a milkshake that was ok but costs 6$ I'm confused how this place is still operating. It's dark inside like some back alley bar you see in to movies. If you look it up you will see all kinds of negative reviews. Stay away from this overpriced mess of a place. It's sad cause the waitresses was actually nice.
