Man, if you live in Salem you have to know this spot. Cool building, great coffee, outstanding service and an overall chill vibe. Th we have plenty of meetings space and it’s not expensive to rent at all. I have a group I meet with in Salem and I always bring everyone coffee and pastries from there. It’s a sure thing to make everyone happy. Highly recommend.

Google
This is a great place to meet up with people, have a coffee or tea, and hang out for a bit. They have a nice big space with plenty of seating, in a cool old building. They also have some event rooms and a stage, making this a great place to rent/reserve for small gatherings of all kinds, even music events. They keep the food and drink relatively simple, but more than make up for it with atmosphere and good service.

Google
Ike Box will always have a special place in my heart. It’s where I went to my very first concert back in high school, and over the years it became a safe space to study, read, or just be. The cozy vibe, local art, and strong sense of community make it feel like home. I love that they have private rooms upstairs you can reserve, outdoor seating, and coffee that’s always delicious and consistent. A true Salem gem. 💎

Google
Great space for a solo brunch or a business meeting over coffee. Spacious, bright, simple environment. The drinks are made well with attention to detail.

Google
Pretty darn tasty breakfast sandwiches and pastries! Parking was difficult for a Saturday morning but worth the circling. We stopped by en route down the coast, and it had a local vibe with really cool old town theater decor. Service was a bit slow but we weren’t in a rush, just hungry.

Google
Great spot for studying!! Really good coffee and food too. Also big shoutout to the manager Duncan… he was super friendly and went out of the way to make sure I was comfortable while I was there!!!

Google
Charming and beautiful cafe in downtown Salem. It seems like a repurposed library of sorts but they have made excellent use of this space. There’s plenty of natural lighting during the day. This place really has a nice vibe and reminds me of a college building. Excellent spot for remote work, studying, writing or whatever you are into. The food is also surprising good. I got a mocha and sandwich, they were very well prepared. Highly recommend visiting this place in the morning time

Google
Always friendly staff working and I love the mission of the place. When the space is open for seating inside, theres always a table you can find and it's a dream of such open space and great music. Seasonal specials every few months which is my fav. Love seeing the regulars come together here so often - It really has a community feel inside! Their outdoor tables are perfect on a warm day for talking with friends or reading a book. Blueberry lemon scone is 10/10 and the muffins are just as good!

Yelp
This place was great! I got the white caramel mocha. Highly recommend! The ambience is beautiful! The service was awesome! Everyone was so nice!

Yelp
Cute place. Definitely a on the way to work vibe Didn't have coffee. I know but just had but looking for on the go breakfast fare for my daughter and I. The bacon burrito was pretty good and liked the panini press style as made firm and easier to eat on go. Says with salsa verde but it was more of a jar traditional salsa. The orangey cranberry loaf was very tasty Would give 4 stars but 20 minute wait for two things as the person handling food seemed overwhelmed which was strange as no food orders in front of me as I waited.

Yelp
My second favorite coffee shop that Salem has to offer. I come here when Issac's coffee is unbearably packed. If I am correct, they are owned by the same family. The vanilla dirty chai is my go to coffee at both places. The drinks here are always so consistent. The service is always quick, and great. Ike box offers plenty of seating.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere but nothing special about the food or coffee. Staff weren't very pleasant and seems put out by questions.
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
We stopped in here to grab coffee. There were a lot of people in here having meetings and or social gatherings which was really cool to see. It looks like an old theater inside and has a wrap around porch. My coffee was alright. I really enjoyed the iced earl grey tea though that was the best drink I tried. Service was pretty friendly.

Yelp
Groovy vibe. Dark hot coffee. Light spacious seating area. Retro building revamp. Mixed people energy.

Yelp
This coffee spot has a great vibe, located in an old church with high ceilings and wood floors. They make good coffee and a great vegetarian breakfast burrito. Sometimes they have live music and they have an ever-changing array of interesting art on the walls.

Yelp
Saw a lot of recommendations for Ike Box and it did not disappoint! The inside is gorgeous, high ceilings, wooden floors, colored stained glass windows and old paintings on the walls with lights. it's a lovely place to sit and drink a cup of coffee or get some work done. The staff is super friendly and explains any questions you have about the coffee or what flavors they think would work well. They also offer a stamp card for coffee & ground coffee. They use and sell Two Sisters Coffee. The coffee is VERY good, not too bitter and not too sweet. The kind of coffee you don't need to add anything extra to! I got an Iced White Mocha! They also offer alternative milks and extra syrups to add. The smoothies are also very good! Accessibility wise, there is stairs up to the entrance but on the side there is a wheelchair accessible ramp!

R Mark M.

Yelp
I love the IKE Box for an enjoyable cup of coffee and chat with a friend. I'm also excited with their mission of helping Salem young people
google avatar

Gregory B.

Yelp
Outstanding coffee in a very cool old building with lots of indoor space featuring espresso blended drinks, sandwiches and pastries. Barista knowledgeable and fast service. 4-5 outdoor tables and chairs make it dog friendly. Worth a visit to sit outside with your pup on a nice day on the tree-lined street offering pay parking (up to 2 hours)
google avatar

Gene B.

Yelp
I don't understand the vogue for this venue. Parking is difficult, drinks are pricy and of subpar quality, bakery goods not good, service indifferent.
google avatar

Reisia S.

Yelp
This is my go-to coffee spot to meet my friends and have long chats. The staff is friendly and they have a discount for Willamette students but you do have to ask. They have a nice selection of coffee and food items. They could use a little more tables and places to sit down but I always find a nice spot. They have a stage to play live music and a piano that kids can enjoy playing on.

Yelp
In short: You won't find a more-interesting building for a coffee shop, or a better overall business model. Best of all, the coffee, tea, and snacks are great, and well priced. In long: Yeah, it's a former funeral parlor. They don't belabor that. In fact, it's all fresh, airy, and bright everywhere. Tons of art for sale on the walls. Huge open spaces around every corner. Places like this should ALWAYS be turned into public gathering spots, IMO, if they become vacant. Not much better way to welcome the public than serving coffee. You walk past customers seated outside (weather permitting), through a foyer with banquette seating, and off to the side there's a looooong counter where you place your order and ogle some pastries. Solid lineup of favorite coffees and teas. Down the hall are meeting rooms and some nice clean washrooms. We checked out a house-brewed iced tea, an iced green tea (sorry, somebody...I picked that up by mistake and drank it), and a matcha latte. All excellent. We also had a gluten-free oatmeal cookie. Everything was excellent--full of flavor. I know GF cookies are good for me but I would have taken one with all the bad stuff as long as I am being bad and eating a cookie in the middle of the day. I still ate every bite, though. The kids working here are often working their first jobs, and I love that the place puts a premium on hiring that way. They were *awesome*--friendly, helpful, thought on their feet when needed. We hung out for a while, filched some wi-fi, people-watched, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I would so come back here, and will on future Salem visits.

Yelp
Really like our visit in the older building that's well maintained. The vanilla latte was one of the best I had and my wife enjoyed her Americana.

Yelp
Had some time to kill and chose this coffee shop from the many choices. So glad I did. The seasonal eggnog latte is so good. I also picked a cranberry coconut cookie. The barista told me it was the last batch of the season. That is too bad because it is wonderful! The historic building has lots of tables and chairs for chatting or working.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I just currently moved to the area and are beginning to explore new food places in the Salem area. We heard some great things about the food, beverages, and atmosphere so we decided to go and try it out. The coffee was spectacular quality( I got the raspberry truffle cold brew 9/10. She got an iced latte 10/10) I got the sausage breakfast sandwich and it was fresh, hot, and delicious 10/10. She decided on the spinach pocket which we later found out was a hit and a miss for most customers however the wonderful owner gave us a free warm apricot cookie as we are first time costumers and they saw that my s/o wasn't as pleased with the spinach pocket as she thought she would be. The manager then offered to let us pick out a different vegetarian item for free to her liking! We decided on the Italian delight(breaded mozzarella and marinara) which was wonderful and savory 10/10. Overall an amazing experience and I cannot recommend it enough! Not only do they care about their customers experiences but they also care about the customers opinions of the food and service.

Yelp
This place is OK. They don't offer the same food choices as their other location, and that's not clear on their website. Next time I'm in town, I will check out the other location.

Yelp
This is a great indie coffee shop on the way from my hotel to the winery I work at. Perfectly placed for me to stop every day on the way to work. It's never crazy busy, the coffee is good, and the people are friendly. I've always popped in and out to get to work, but there are a TON of places if you need to do some work, study, or meet up with someone. I really dig that they are active in the community. I haven't every *really* gotten into it, but I know some of the people working there are troubled in some sort of way. This is a way for them to get back on the right path.

Yelp
Good coffee and great service. Parking sucks and you will get a ticket. Still good coffee

Yelp
The interior is very beautiful. The baristas were very fast with the coffee, which was top notch. A good place to relax on a computer!

Yelp
Wow, so being from out of town, I've had this place recommended several times and it seemed quite charming at first, especially with their focus on helping the youth and leaving a positive impact on community, however, me and my partner went in for some coffee, a smoothie, and a cookie. We got our coffees and we're waiting for about 5 minutes still for the cookie so me and my partner waited back in line to ask if it was forgotten by chance, no attitude or issue about it mind you. The lady who took our order, very short with black hair and lipstick, scowled at us and then another employee who was tall, bigger, and blonde with a beard told us in a rude and arrogant manner, "It wasn't forgotten they just have other food to make." So we waited politely only for her to stomp over to the counter and slam the cookie on the table in front of other customers and loudly state without looking at me or my partner that the cookie is ready. Absolutely uncalled for and unprofessional for a customer service setting, me and my partner even left a tip prior to this so called, "service." Which we highly regret now and probably will not be coming back again sadly if this is the standard of service. Disappointing!

Yelp
Stumbled across this place when we came to the Capital to protest our horrendous federal government... We loved our short time in Ike Box, and its strong, bold coffee... Highly recommend this establishment!!!

Yelp
Decent coffee shop, cool old building, but if it was where I live I probably wouldn't go there. The coffee shop is in a cool old historic building, I am surprised they haven't utilized the space more, random rugs to cover cords is never my favorite. We went on back to back days as we were in Salem. I ordered an americano both days. The first day my coffee was just okay, it tasted a bit stale like it might have not been the freshest beans. But the second day it was fantastic, so much flavor. I also had a sausage breakfast sandwich and I'm glad it was only $4 or I would t have nice things to say.

Crowd A.

Yelp
Have been to this neighborhood coffee place just a couple of times so far but each time the baristas have been super friendly including one even telling me the history of the historic building. The coffee is good and they have good treats. Especially tasty is a cheddar bacony piece of deliciousness/cake/breakfast type item. The atmosphere is chill with lots of tables and always plenty of space around them and they support a charitable cause. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I got a great London Fog in the beautiful historic coffee shop. The service was friendly and quick. My London Fog was creamy and tasty!

Rex B.

Yelp
The place is quaint but I wish there are better seats. Overall, a great place to hang out if you want to dome work.
google avatar

Rhonda S.

Yelp
You can smell the coffee when you first enter the door. It smells wonderful!! Coffee was great. The baristas were friendly and helpful. The tables are nice with a touch of history. We plan to come back.
google avatar

Philip S.

Yelp
Good coffee and snacks here on our drive through town. The coffee shop itself is compact but within a cavernous space. On the Sunday morning we were there, several groups were positioned throughout the space. Service at the purchase was friendly enough but the delivery of the drinks was a bit brusque. there is also outdoor seating.
google avatar

Bill R.

Yelp
This coffee shop is a unique place in downtown Salem Oregon. The backdrop to the shop is as a youth training center helping young people and young adults learn a new skill or trade. I ordered a Courtade as my drink as I quickly ran to the restroom. The two gentlemen were kind enough to make it for me so upon my return it was ready. The coffee was smooth and delightful I will return to try this place again.

Yelp
It's so calm! Food was amazing! Service was great I love this place recommended for studying or working!!!!

Yelp
My ex and I drove the teen and friends down to Salem for Miyako Con. Then we needed something to do, a place to go. We could NOT agree on a movie ( one of the reasons we are exes) but we could agree on coffee. This is a neat place. There is on street parking. It's a big spacious old building with high ceilings and cool architectural details. It has great lighting and free wifi. There is a decent spattering of tables, chairs, sofas. We saw a lot of people studying, working, having first dates ( I did not eavesdrop, exactly...they were just kinda audible...so I um...overheard things). There is a stage with sound equipment and a piano. It looks like they have events/live music sometimes. The only disappointment was that they close at 6 on Saturday and we still had an hour to waste. But our coffee and biscotti were quite good and we would go back if ever around there again. Though I'm hoping some other parent does the chauffeur gig next time, tbh.

Eunice B.

Yelp
The baristas were kinda emotion-less & a little awkward... this place used to be a funeral home, which has interesting "vibes" but it could be nice. Very spacious. Ordered what we always order from coffee shops we explore or always go to, but their take on the mocha was interesting - the coffee was extremely sweetly done & thick. Couldn't really drink it..
google avatar

Kat J.

Yelp
The courtesy and unique menu here are fantastic! There are a variety of seating from meeting rooms (without doors for privacy), to tables, benches and patio space if the weather allows. There is ramp access to get inside for wheelchairs and strollers alike and a stage for performances in the main room. The menu on the wall across from the barista counter has unique flavor drinks to try, while their menu overs a variety of tea, coffee, and ice or hot non-caffeinated options. There is grab and go food in a cooler by the register or more options on menu. Their Italian sodas with alternative milk is delicious, and the lavender lemonade doesn't disappoint (if lavender doesn't taste like soap to your genes). Duncan is the reason for the high rating and is the best at helping you find something new to try or something that will become your next favorite. The staff is friendly and understanding, especially if you choose to make this your study or work from home space and tune out their cleaning before closing. They kindly remind you instead of asking you to leave. There is a station for water and sweeteners etc to add to your drink choice but also to bus your own table.

Yelp
Average cup of coffee. Knocked stars for price, service and taste. If you're not a morning person, don't work mornings. Self service drip coffee at this price is not ok. I was handed an empty cup for close to $4. And the coffee is mediocre at best. Now the building is a big old house and has potential to be a really chill place. The other thing I noticed was the absence of the smell of coffee. It would be like walking into a bakery and my nose not being greeted by the scents of fresh baked cookies, bread and cakes.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
While my daughter was going to a volleyball clinic at the YMCA next door, I worked here. Very nice vintage and spacious place! The service is quick and solid, the coffee and pastries are delicious, and the AC felt great on a 100+ day. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Sukhman T.

Yelp
This is a non-profit cafe location. It is named after their son who unfortunately passed away. They give some of their income from this cafe to non-profit organizations. The building from the outside looks like a old town hall. They have maintained the antique look. The seating area various but it adds character. I have gotten their cappuccino and latte and have enjoyed both of them. I have taken my coworkers here too and they have returned.
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
Wonderful place to hang out with a friend or solo. Very comfortable, warm atmosphere and tons of seating. Very eclectic decor. My latte is always stellar and when I order a bagel I get ample butter and cream cheese. If you're in the Salem area, make your coffee stop here, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Christian J.

Yelp
Really good coffee! I'd definitely go back for more. I flew in from San Diego and was looking all over for a good coffee shop....finally! I found one. I ordered two vanilla lattes. So far, this has been the best coffee I've found in the Oregon area.

T V.

Yelp
Great spot for a coffee. Cool open space, friendly staff. Good for working. Enjoyed it

Yelp
While traveling through Salem I wanted to find a local coffee shop. I stopped at IKE Box and had a wonderful experience. The shop is a really cool space with local art. The staff was incredibly kind, chatty and helpful. I also really enjoyed trying some of their seasonal special drinks. Highly recommend this great local business!

Yelp
Coffee: Mocha with raspberry - 5 stars Food: Bagel Breakfast Sandwich - 5 stars Schmere: Off the scale 20 stars if I could. First, gotta talk about the bagel breakfast sandwich, comes with your choice of bagel/cheese/and toppings (schmeres). I got the jalapeno cheddar bagel with egg, cheddar cheese and a smoky pepper schmere. This was the BEST BAGEL, and by far one of the BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICHES I have ever had. Capital letters can't do this justice, eating this made my week. Smokey, salty, creamy, it sang a song that I will look forward to until next week when I order this again. My coffee was absolutely brilliant. One of my favorite things with espresso is something sweet, usually a berry does the trick. Raspberry is my go to, because I don't use them often at home. This coffee made this long week worth it.

Michael E.

Yelp
Very good but we've had better. The mocha latte which was good but was ordinary while my daughter had a chocolate milk. Service was good and the ambiance was great. The history of the place gives it the 4 star rating.
google avatar

Gary W.

Yelp
Great coffee...excellent coffee shop in downtown Salem. Went to IKE several times while we were visiting Salem based upon strong Yelp ratings. It did not disappoint! Great espresso, coffee, latte, and tasty treats. Really enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches and kids loved their blended drinks. The space is quaint...feels like a converted business...with small break out rooms, and a large central area with high ceilings and a stage for events. Friendly staff...great coffee...5-star rating!
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
Great coffee shop with a unique history and yummy Sisters Coffee. Check it out next time you are in Salem!
google avatar

Linh P.

Yelp
I got a vanilla latte with an apricot scone. The vanilla latte was pretty good but my favorite was definitely the scone. I was debating between the apricot one or the bacon & cheese one but ultimately decided I wanted something sweet to go with my coffee. I definitely made the right choice but I will prob come back to try the other one soon. The ambiance was perfect. It wasn't too crowded since I came on a weekday but there was a lot of space inside and a few tables outside. The tables inside were pretty spaced out too so that gave me some peace of mind. There's also tables with outlet so perfect place to come study or do some work.
google avatar

Paisley T.

Yelp
I like the concept. I can picture myself catching up on some work here in the big open space. Something was missing though. What is it? Maybe they need some music? Maybe a bookshelf? Maybe..hmmm. I'll have to think about that. Nevertheless the coffee is good. Not out of this world unless your order a specialty drink like the cinnamon toffee nut latte which was absolutely delicious. The bagels and scones are great.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Surprising to find this unique coffee shop space in Salem! The blend latte was yummy.

Senna O.

Yelp
Let me sum it up like this: Smells like cat pee in the back. Unfriendly barista. Minimum breakfast options. Charges for coffee refills. Seating is overly spaced out and has no flow or ambiance. Will be trying another place next time.
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Great little spot in Salem where you can find Sisters coffee -- my favorite. It's an old morgue which adds kind of a cool element. Now just need movie night in their large open space!
