Yelp
(Shopped 04/29/24 MO @ 8:00pm): IKEA... it's not just for Swedish meatballs, although I loved those!
This was the first time I visited IKEA's relatively new Burbank location, since they moved here years ago from the former San Fernando Rd. address. Known for their home decor, office furniture, and their assortment of food, I've personally purchased some furniture over the years, but I was really a fan of their food! This was especially true when I used to work next to their aforementioned former location, and I partook in my lunch break in IKEA's cafeteria. No food for me this time around, I was here in search of a replacement bathroom mirror for a newly-remodeled vacant apartment. This item was one of the last things I needed before it was ready for showing. Would I key in on a proper mirror to finish this unit!?
PURCHASE
Enhet Mirror Door/Glass 18"x30" ($30.00): Unable to readily find this at The Home Depot, Lowe's, or even the local hardware store my family has shopped at for decades, J & J Trading Post Inc., I found this which was nearly exactly what I was looking for! At the very least, it was similar to the other bathroom mirror (the dimensions were slightly different), but it did the job! The thought never ever crossed my mind to consider IKEA as an option for any apartment remodel/repairs materials. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=bRFhNRzwInna5mSprfmXCg
SERVICE
I was greeted by a jolly young man who helped me search through their directory as to where this item was located. Once that was established, off I went on a journey that ultimately took me about 10 minutes to find it with a few wrong turns along the way. Once I had it in-hand https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=zWIPgspYhZykijWUgamSlw and checked other similar items in the same area, I grabbed it and headed to the checkout counter, where multiple lines were open, and I was able to get through quickly - greatly appreciate!
PARKING (FREE)
They had their own huge private lot - 'nuff said!
ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE
A ginormous cavernous warehouse store that conceivably could've had its own zip code. I swore, everything that you imagined that belonged in a home or office was found here with the exception of major appliances and electronics as far as the eyes could see. Entire rooms were set up that gave you ideas. If you needed a plush blue whale https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=mOXwoy6Y6antC-0qVVsqGg they had those, too! Wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling, you could hours as you walked throughout the place as it snaked its way around. Hardly any natural lighting except at the front entrance, there was a ton of assorted electric ceiling lights that lit your way through. I didn't notice any TVs nor background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=1n4NLL8ClJxO89JYjwiNBw
ATTIRE
Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops.
OVERALL
Burbank's IKEA location was a country unto itself, and I loved it! Because I personally wasn't in need of any home or office furnishings, there really wasn't a need for me to shop here... except for this fortuitous moment. Otherwise, I wanted to return and reintroduce myself to their awesome cafeteria and lovely food. Their product mix was second-to-none, the quality was generally fine, the prices very affordable, and the service was decent as it was more DIY excluding the greeter and cashiers which was fine by me. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $33.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS
