IKEA Charlotte is a popular spot for affordable, modern furniture and home goods. Located in University City, it offers a wide selection of items for every room, plus a café featuring Swedish meatballs and other favorites. The store is clean and well-organized, with helpful staff, though it can get busy on weekends. Overall, it’s a great one-stop shop for stylish, budget-friendly home essentials.

Bring your own tape measure because they mislabel items in the showroom!! We purchased all the parts for the desk shown as listed on the label expecting to have a two person sized desk. Spent an extra couple hundred dollars in accessories for a desk this large- only to get home (4 hours away) and realize it was mislabeled and the items listed were actually for a desk that only fits one person. Reached out to customer service and they said the only way they would exchange is if we drove the 4 hours back to return the $40 table top even though it was their mistake. We loved ikea before this but really disappointed in how they choose to treat customers and handle their own mistakes!

Ate lunch there and they were out of many items...even the traditional gravy...that should be simple to make (there's tons of gravy packets downstairs if they really made an effort to satisfy customers). Staff not very friendly (in restaurant). Definitely understaffed...lots of dirty tables and dishes. Lots of construction going indoors so couldn't see many sections.

The one place left in the world that makes me say,"Now, this makes sense." Well organized with an abundant selection of stuff that will make you say,"I was just saying that I needed one of those!". Be sure to sign up online for their rewards program (it's free and they don't send you a bunch of obnoxious emails.) The points rack up super fast and you can redeem them for food or $off your purchase. Also, be sure to check out the As-is section at the very end. There's all sorts of really marked down items. I feel like the prices throughout the store are very affordable. Don't forget to grab a cinnamon bun on the way out. Only criticism is that they used to have smaller carts that made maneuvering around on busy days easier. Someone dropped the ball there. Also, this is one of those stores where you need to bring reusable bags or purchase them for really cheap at the registers. They also have a pretty nice houseplant section. I got a really cute plant stand.

Stopped in today to look for a table to hold several terrariums on. We found a few but had a question with one if them. I found someone who worked there but she ignored me and walked to another coworker and left the area. Very rude!! I saw 3 other staff members and asked them my question. They weren't the friendliest or welcoming but kinda answered my question. We went around ikea and went downstairs and found a few more tables. One we really liked but didn't have a price on it. We saw Christopher, a staff member and hoped that he could help us. He was 1000% awesome!!!! Christopher was very welcoming, friendly and helpful!!! Christopher deserves more than 5 stars!!!! I can see why he was coworker of the year and coworker of the month!!!! The other staff members we dealt with, 0 stars! We found our table and stood in the checkout lines forever! Two register were open with staff members and a few self checkout registers were open. The checkout line was loooong and took forever to get to the register. It was crazy why they didn't have more staff on registers. 0 stars! Will we come back? Maybe. Will it be on the weekends? NO!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Nick to plan out a custom RV kitchen, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the start, Nick was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly helpful—making what felt like a complex layout feel completely doable. He helped me maximize space, choose the right cabinets and fixtures, and made sure everything aligned with the style and function I needed for a mobile setup. His attention to detail and creativity really brought my vision to life. Thank you, Nick, for making this process smooth and stress-free!

Google
My first physical trip to IKEA did not disappoint. We spent our anniversary weekend in Charlotte and decided to stop by the massive store. We've ordered lots of things from IKEA online but this was next level excitement! We even had lunch while we were there and treated ourselves to a new media center for our living room. I love the flow of the store and all of the displays of entire rooms. The warehouse to pick up items was easy to access and load to a cart. The loading dock in the front was easy and convenient. Give yourself plenty of time if it's your first visit there is a lot to see.

Google
Good and really big one but as an Indian i dont like the collection, yoyget many better options in India. But yes if you are in the US then IKEA is the best option for your home. Its like one stop solution.

David R.

Yelp
Always enjoy seeing all the different styles and display are great inspiration! Glad we thought ahead because we almost couldn't fit everything, so lucky my buddy was able to join us, which was great! The prices are so great we got all we came for and still was able to afford a nice dinner!

Yelp
2025 and this is more of a 2.5.star due to crap grumpy attitudes (lane cashier) and one yellow shirt GUY not even acknowledging me in the floral area. First time buying live flowers from Iowa. However the ladies that made it a stellar visit were the young lady handling the giveaway at the front door and the cashier at the cafe during breakfast. Our live flowers and plants at 20% are enjoyable for me and still have another trip to make it but it'll be pickup via online ordering. I wish they'd at least deliver live plants as the big 12 inches got a bit of damage on the way to their final destination.

Yelp
Staff are incredibly obnoxious; I think being obnoxious and unhelpful is a hiring requirement for this place. This is an unfortunate reality. Be thankful if you find someonne who is willing to help you.. You get what you pay for; my experience the "Cheaper" the item the "Better" the item. Don't try to buy anything expensive, you will regret it terribly. They have a tremendously large selection of poor quality items that you will find extremely helpful for your home. I'm not sure what else to say. If you been to one Ikea, you've been to them all.

Sahika G.

Yelp
We bought a cabinet. Only 2 pieces. Almost an hour, still waiting, still "verifying" for our order. 9 other people are waiting for pick up. This is weekend, our times are important too...

Yelp
You shouldn't have a problem finding parking. This place is massive. Plan on wearing comfortable walking shoes. Follow the arrows on the floor to help navigate you through the store. The store has countless affordable items for your home. Many don't require assembly so grab a cart. I recommend taking pictures of the items you would like to get before you head down to the warehouse portion on the lower level to retrieve the items you can't grab from the floor (furniture). The restaurant is the real treat in the store. The Swedish food is reasonable and delicious. They also have a smaller snack food area near checkout. I like IKEA. I like the prices and the modern appearance of their goods. You can spend a great deal of time in here and make sure you have ample room in your truck/van/car to carry your goods home.

Yelp
I only gave the store four stars, but we like what they offer and will be coming back. The reason for the four stars is that they make it impossible to get out of the store without having to go through so much of it. We tend to have lots of parties and don't like plastic for alcoholic drinks, so we buy all of our wine, martini, and other types of glasses here that we use for parties. We're not worried if they get broken (which they do) since replacements are easy and inexpensive. They also have a lot of other cool things, such as their organization stuff and kitchen gadgets (I love gadgets). However, this trip got me a bit annoyed with the store. The first thing we did was grab a box of red wine goblets. We took all of the shortcuts we could find to get to the checkout, but we still went through so much of the store. After our purchase, we went upstairs to eat in the cafeteria. My wife always has to get the Swedish meatballs when we visit, and since we were both hungry, I ordered 16 of them. We'll be back next time we go to Charlotte. I saw a cool giant wooden spoon I need

Yelp
Who doesn't love ikea! After a terrible experience with a restaurant that we waited almost 2hrs for food that we never received. We were hungry and decided to stop in to ikea to get some food since their food was half off on Friday! We wanted something quick and fast and ikea delivered. The staff were so friendly, the cafeteria and dining areas are always clean. We got to the dining area got our trays, our dessert and food. And bam! We sat and ate our food, it was yummy and we were full! We didn't come to do any shopping this trip, but really enjoyed our meal at a awesome price. I got the Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, the bean mix, Texas toast and a cheesecake. All for about 13 bucks! This also included a fountain drink. Ikea never disappoints!

Yelp
Massive. IKEA is always fun to go to but then you're quickly reminded how huge this store really is and how much time you'll actually need to spend there to make your rounds of rooms and products. For the most part, the selection they have is solid and while some things reasonable, less desirable looking items are expensive. A billion rooms to go through but they set it up well enough to go in a specific direction (if you want), to make the most out of your time and viewing. The showrooms are all staged well and give you lots of ideas and labeled very well (so you don't have to look for price/description) of item. The bottom floor with the separate products can be a cluster, but I'd attribute that more towards the customers that pick up everything and put them out of place. Plenty of lines but still long lines to wait. Overall, a good place to view/buy home goods if you want to spend half a day there.

Diane M.

Yelp
Sorry Charlotte, this isn't about you but the IKEA website. Since I can't get help, I'm writing this bad review in hopes someone in corporate will fix the issue. I no longer live in a state that has a physical store and now have to order online. I have been trying for over a month to place an order and more than10 hours of my time dealing with this. I have been attempting to make a purchase though the IKEA website since 5/24/25 and have been unsuccessful. After multiple attempts, speaking with customer service and placing the order over the phone and even asking to speak with tech support. No one has been able to help me. It has become apparent to me that IKEA does not want my business. The issue: after selecting the items I want and going to check out, entering my IKEA gift card and then entering my credit card for the remailing balance, it reads, "Please try again or use another payment method." Each time I attempted to make the purchase and was unsuccessful, I would have to wait until the next day for the amount to be returned to my gift card. I was told by support to try the following * Try a different credit card. I have tried three different credit cards, and each time I got the same error message. * Tried completing the purchase without using the gift card and it still didn't work. * Try clearing the cookies and cache of your browser. Did this. Didn't help. * Try using a different browser. I normally use Google Chrome, one of the most popular browsers in use. I tried MS Edge. Still didn't work. * Contact your credit card company and see if they've put a hold on the order. I did, and they didn't. (In fact one of the cards I was using has a $200 credit.) * Try another form of payment like PayPal or ApplePay. I do not use them and do not wish to. At one point I was even told that maybe the items I'm purchasing aren't available. If that's the case, why isn't it stated on the website. And, why did the order go through, only to get the error message? I even asked customer service to check to see if my address is correct, because at one point, the site populated my address with the wrong state, not once, but twice. I even tried creating a new IKEA account and attempted to make the same purchase, but using a third credit card and I'm getting the same message - Please try again or use another payment method. Apparently, IKEA does not want my business, which is a shame since I recently moved into a new home and making lots of purchases. Your customer service and tech support are inept. Whosever in charge of technology should be fired. They're causing the company to lose business. I have asked they refund me the money still on the gift card since IKEA is not honoring it. DO NOT SHOP IKEA ONLINE.

Yelp
While the quality of the product is always high, the issue is their recent embrace of all things LGBTQIAWXYZ+#%@. The flag out front, the new crosswalk rainbow colors, and constant gay branding in the store is a little in the face. Almost like they're trying to make reparations for past sins. Please just go back to normal.

Yelp
Wide variety of good tasting food selections in hot and cold also very nice staff that provided good customer service, clean facility and aesthetics are beautiful. Your price is unbeatable for good food with good porpotions!

Yelp
I used to really like ikea but these days it just isn't worth the hassle. They are no longer the cheapest place to get most things and alternatives to their furniture can be found for better quality and prices on wayfair, shipped direct to your house. IKEA has also become way more annoying to actually buy from. It's weird to say, but the areas where they've replaced "get your own" with assistance are actually dramatically worse than before. Now, buying a larger item (closets for example) requires you to get assistance from a person at least twice but still requires you to do all the work of figuring out what you need beforehand. Now you have to have a person put it into an order form for you which you then have to scan and pay for - only then can you take it to yet another person who will scan it again. At this point you go into a queue to wait for someone to bring you your stuff which can be a seriously long wait even if no one is ahead of you. After all that, you're back to having to deal with the stuff yourself (man handling it outside and loading it yourself). On top of that, while you now have to deal with at least two new people in buying a Pax, they removed all the cashiers so you have to do checkout for yourself which is annoying when a Karen in front of you can't figure out how to scan the boxes up couch she bought. Like I said, it's no longer worth the hassle.

Yelp
The restaurant was great for a quick breakfast. Eggs were great and bacon perfectly cooked. Everybody welcomed you and they were all friendly. Breakfast is limited to eggs, bacon, potatoes and crepes but it was great! 2 people ate for under $12. Yummy and great to fuel your walk.

Yelp
Worst costumer service. If I could give zero stars I would. I have had the worst experience trying to receive my order. We have a huge order from ikea to redo our kitchen, dropped a couple thousand dollars and still have yet to receive the order or get ANY help for where the order is. It's been a couple weeks now since our order was suppose to be delivered. You would think a costumer who spent this much money would get information about the order and help. It's absolutely ridiculous and will more than likely never order from ikea again at this rate.
google avatar

Yelp
If there was no star, I would give no star to this place, very rude people in Customer Service when we want to return the merchandise that belongs to IKEA they wouldn't accept it. I talked to Supervisor there name Bri, with a very nasty attitude keep telling me that they don't want to take a brand new merchandise back just because I got it as a gift and I didn't have a receipt. That was totally against their policy. No wonder the store was empty of customers.

Yelp
I just love to walk around this place. The combination of the broad selection and the affordable prices is always a winning combination. I'll be honest I have not often purchase anything but the store but I do get lots of design and other ideas when I'm visiting. The service is top-notch, including the service on the floor, as well as the service and the restaurant and the snack bar that's located in the front of the store. I am always amazed at how many people are in the store, but it doesn't have that crowded over packed feel and you never have to wait a long time am I

Yelp
Who get's excited to visit a furniture store? Me! Who get's excited to visit one with a restaurant? Meeee! Tip #1 come with your walking shoes on! Seriously. This is a large store/warehouse. With a lot to see, touch, and buy! It took us about 2 and half hours to walk around and see it all AND eat. Tip #2 bring a to-go container! They have no to-go containers sooo if you don't eat all your food - you can wrap it up in aluminum foil *shrugs* The food is very good for the money and fresh! It's like a cafeteria set up. You grab a tray and pick out what refrigerated items you want and anything hot you get from the server. Very one was very kind from the food area or the furniture area. The entire store was very well organized and clean. If you are looking for inspirational ideas on how to put your space together or interesting pieces to decorate with - this is a place to visit. Ohhhh let me not forget - Tip #3 - the snack cookies from Switzerland - if you see them - GET them! They are heart shaped gingerbread cookies! We ate them so quickly I didn't get a photo lmbo!

Yelp
I need help! I designed and ordered an entire kitchen through IKEA, including their kitchen services. The design process went smoothly, but just two days before the installation, IKEA informed us that most of the kitchen parts were out of stock--after we had already demolished our existing kitchen! We called IKEA customer service, only to be told that we are responsible for everything ourselves. We've spent over $10,000, and no one at IKEA is willing to assist us. On top of that, we had to cancel the kitchen service, and they're keeping our $1,675 deposit. What kind of company operates like this? Order number 463316918 Update: After calling IKEA 4 time, more than 4 hours on the phone. One of the representatives finally helped. The kitchen service has been canceled, deposit has been returned. But the order for kitchen cabinets money has not been returned. There is the case number, but we don't know how long we have to wait. We need this money to buy our new kitchen cabinets from somewhere else. Very frustrating...

Yelp
I remember shopping at the first Virginia Ikea in the mid 80s. I was a loyal customer from then on, including furnishing my daughter's rooms as they grew up and went off to college. No more! In January, I purchased a gift card for a family member in Puerto Rico only to discover that it could not be used there. For two months following that, Ikea reps told me the Puerto Rico is not part of the US (!!!) and that they would refund the unused gift card. Finally, after hours and hours of calls, I was told that gift cards are NEVER refunded. Buyer beware! Ikea does not shoot straight and my loyalty to them is gone.

Yelp
Yes, its very large, you can find anything & save money, don't visit if you are in a hurry, and have no patience. This isn't the shopping experience for you if you dont like crowd's. Be realistic when shopping in warehouse stores. Lots to see and a great way to get your daily steps! I love Ikea and the concept for shoppers. My daughter moved to a new house, so I helped her find a few needed items. She did find a nice cabinet in the 50% off section, don't miss this area close to check out area. Customer service was good, lots of free parking, carts & bags readily available thru out store, clean bathrooms, and they have a food area. I have visited quite a few Ikeas when I lived Europe. The USA concept is basically the same, definitely more options and unique finds in Europe. I'm sure I will visit again soon. We enjoyed our shopping day!

Yelp
I went to IKEA recently to look at desks. The store is huge and the selection on any given item is incredible! The largest I've seen. At IKEA, you always get more bang for your buck. The quality of the products for the price is so worth it. Our family still have furniture we bought over eight years ago. The store team members are professional and the customer service is both approachable and friendly. Even when busy, there's always someone available to stop and help to provide direction on any given store item. IKEA...yes! This place is the best!

Yelp
MEATBALLS!! I've heard so much about their food and just happened to be in Charlotte! SO GLAD we were close by. Do you like Poutine? Try meatballs, their French fries and GRAVY-OMG!!! Great garden salad with a delicious add on of Smoked salmon Very good! The Almond Cake-Goodness. And the LINGONBERRY jelly...DON'T GET ME STARTED. THOROUGHLY ENJOYED

Yelp
This was my first trip to ikea, and I was blown away! I didn't think it was possible to have SO much in one store. All the prices were great, and the food was surprisingly good as well. Definitely worth the trip!
google avatar

Yelp
IKEA, you have my heart. This was my first experience, so call me biased, but I loved it here! Unfortunately, I had to rush because I had somewhere to be, but I definitely plan on coming back! This place is not just any kind of furniture/home goods store. It is a whole vibe. There is even an area downstairs called, "small land," for children to be watched while you shop. We did not utilize this part of the store this trip because it appeared closed because of COVID, but the simple fact that they offer it, is amazing to me! There is also a cafeteria style place to eat upstairs and the food is not outrageously priced. It was good too, nothing special, but good and fairly priced. I ended up buying a few things while I was here, but definitely plan to return and buy more!
google avatar

Theyelper T.

Yelp
Never have what I'm looking for in stock always missing some pieces or all. Asked about shipping and they wanted to charge $125 to ship a nightstand that cost $125 so double to get it shipped to my house. If you're gonna keep something on display, it needs to have note that there are missing colors or pieces and cannot be sold!

Yelp
Must admit that yes I spent a couple hours of my birthday walking around Ikea and I will proudly declare that it was amazing!!!! I loved the organization and beautiful presentation throughout the entire facility and the food court was spotless! This place was like a fun maze with new exciting things at every turn!! For lunch my partner and I got 2 entrees: The vegetarian meatballs meal (with seasonal vegetables; broccoli instead of rice) the swedish meatballs meal as-is, and a water bottle ALL FOR $11! Literally such a steal! The vegetarian meatballs were awesome! I could see corn, carrots, and peas in the meatball which is always so exciting. Originally from a location with zero nearby Ikeas, this is honestly a highlight of my trip to Charlotte! Every visitor NEEDS to take a trip to Ikea, and particularly spend extra time in the food court side note: the fire alarm actually began to ring towards the end of our meal! unsurprisingly, even evacuating the building was a peaceful experience! Everything was organized, people still had smiles on their faces from being high off Ikea, and I was just glad that we had already walked around before eating! It was just a really great day and I can't wait to go back in a few years

Yelp
Live in south carolina, have to call someone in India to attempt to change a pick up time? In north carolina? No store phone number. IKEA IS THE NEXT THING TO CLOSE. ANYTHING to save a buck?

Yelp
I love Ikea!!! I don't really buy furniture too much here though lol. Me and my friends just love to eat here and then walk through the store. I'm a big fan of their grocery items and their food. I love the meatballs! This ikea is the standard size of most Ikeas I believe, the store has a great selection of everything you'd need. Checkout usually takes forever though.

Yelp
I have ordered an order from IKEA to furnish my new apartment as a single father. IKEA outsourced the delivery to RXO. On two separate occasions RXO has sent delivery drivers with either an open warrant or prior felonies. On the first occasion, the driver contacted me stating he needed directions to get onto base and to meet him outside of the gate to give him directions. Once I met him, he stated I needed to get inside of his truck to make it either to follow directions. We proceeded to get on the military base and found out he didn't have a pass to get on the installation. The guards directed us to the visitor center to get the pass. On the way, the driver stops in the middle of the interstate and tells me he has a felony and won't pass the background check and was hoping the guards would just let him on because I am a service member. The driver then asks if I can just load my order into a friends POV to deliver it myself and carry all my stuff myself. On the second occasion, the driver calls and states he did not know the order was being delivered to a military base and the delivery couldn't happen. Once I asked for an explanation the driver stated it was a risk to the company. When I asked for even more explanation the driver stated it was a risk for incarceration. Then he hung up and wouldn't pick up the phone. I have been calling multiple times to the company both IKEA and RXO and no one can ever give me a definite answer. Half the time they can't locate my order or they put the blame on the other company. They also keep rescheduling it which is causing me to continually miss work. My family and I have been sleeping on the floor and eating our meals on the floor due to this negligence. Not one time have I been offered an apology or reimbursement. The company doesn't value my time or money. I spent a lot of money to ensure a comfortable living situation as a service member but this company does not seem to support our troops.

Yelp
While I'm not one who typically enjoys shopping much at all, and while I usually profess no real interest in purchasing furnishings and home goods, I found myself drawn to visit IKEA for the very first time. It's an interesting experience for the uninitiated, a different approach than what I'm used to for a store layout. That in itself made the visit an intriguing one for me. I'm not much for fiberboard furniture, but still I saw items that interested me. I suspect there may be some metal display cabinets coming home in the near future. And there's quite a lot besides furniture and fixtures going on within those walls. It doesn't hurt that I enjoy the simplicity often present in modern European influences. And yet the only thing I bought was a jar of lingonberry jam. Not bad, might I add. I already had meal plans set prior to my visit, but on the return trip I'm planning to sample the restaurant.

Yelp
Looking to make some changes in the house so I stopped by ikea to see if they had any new additions or up grades. Well I found a few little treasures like kitchen utensils, glasses and rugs; speaking g of rugs their selection of cowhide rugs is fabulous! I like their upgrades to storage cabinets and bedroom decor, but there's one FYI with purchasing ikea furniture ... Wood Glue! That gives it more stability.

Yelp
Been going awhile, and is good. I really like how they make you build it yourself, it makes a really good business plan

Yelp
I have found that the furniture does not hold up well. Other items may be better.iI hate the setup of the store- you have to go thru the entire showroom to get out of the store.

Yelp
This IKEA is always packed especially on the weekends. There is normally always a line to check out and the parking lots is always full. With that said I try to come during off times. I like to have a plan in mind and surf the website so I don't have to walk all around the building searching for items. The cafe is currently closed due to Covid but I normally always have to have something to snack on when I'm there. The meatballs are addictive. I've only had a bad experience once with a customer service employee in the returns area. Other than that all the employees have been very helpful. Please make sure you have all the pieces to an item you purchase. I forgot to get the slates to my bed and had to travel all the way back after setting up the bed. IKEA 8300 Ikea Blvd Charlotte, NC 28262 (Review 459 overall, 3 of 2021)

Yelp
Drove 3 hours to get here for one specific item that was available at this location on the website but out of stock in store. Unhelpful and unfriendly staff, what was meant to be a 2 hour outing tops was turned into 6 hours inside of the IKEA store. We asked if they could ship the item we came for and they said the shipping fee was three times the price of the original piece. Ridiculous. If you come to this IKEA, be prepared to stand in outrageous lines and navigate huge crowds, and be thoroughly disappointed by the service provided by employees.

Yelp
Another terrible experience but keep giving them a try in hopes for a better experience. I have been stalking the website day and night for over a month now for a specific dresser. Finally at 6:30am I checked the site and it said there were 56 dressers available and click & collect was available. So I ordered to reserved one for pickup at 11am. I made my payment and I received my confirmation email after payment was received about 10 mins later. I went back to check the site at 7:01 and it said 55 in stock so to me, the one I ordered for was accounted for and removed from the in stock count. Now At 10:40am, I get an email that the item is out of stock all of the sudden. This is the first issue. Second issue is I now have to wait 7 business days to get a refund on my card for something I was made to believe was available. When I called the customer service line no one could explain the reason this happened outside of maybe they oversold the product. I asked for a team lead, manager someone else that could handle my escalation request and was told no one is available and they would tell me the same thing so I'd need to call corporate. This is really terrible customer service and misleading to customers near and far. Interesting enough a local guy here in Charlotte that sells and assembles the hemnes dresser emailed me and told me he had dressers available at 10:30 this morning. Just yesterday afternoon he had none available. I do not believe the workers are doing their due diligence and pulling the items off the shelf when an item is reserved for click & collect. Ikea as a whole, please do better at how you manage your inventory and customer service request. I called corporates line (610) 834-0180 and shocker....no one answered Update at 12:15pm - just received a text that my item is now in stock smh and now it says 29 are available.....what's is going on.

Yelp
Kitchen design staff is fantastic, they are knowledgeable, patient and willing to be creative and think outside of the box. I've worked with a few designers there but my favorite is Robin.

Yelp
Love this place. We have purchased a number of items from here for both business and personal use. We live the extra 5% off for IKEA Family members and the restaurant is fabulous to grab lunch while shopping

Yelp
I went on a Tuesday afternoon so there was no crowd and no lines. The store was clean and social distancing is enforced. Weekends are probably crazy so I'd recommend avoid going on a weekend.

Yelp
I'm just so happy that we have an IKEA in North Carolina. It's quite a treat! I remember visiting my first one in Minneapolis and it blew me away. IKEA is a nice place to daydream and brainstorm about how you would like your space to look like. It's quite inspirational. I'm always able to find everything. These days, I prefer shopping online and doing the easy pickup. It's quite nice and convenient if you don't want to end up spending hundreds more dollars. It's pretty much order online, park, send a notice that you've arrived, and someone brings it out to you. It was so easy! This saved me so much time and money.

Yelp
Preparing for the big move and Ikea had a lot of great things that I thought would go great in the new apartment! The best section to me is always the kitchen!!! So many great things and the prices are always outstanding. Everything in my new apartment will most likely be from IKEA!!! They never let me down!

Yelp
Ikea is a great store that's fun to browse. This review, however, will focus on the food, for some reason. There are 2 food areas. Upstairs has a cute little restaurant with great meatballs, macaroni and cheese, salmon and more. The food downstairs is a trap. It's awful. It's amazing how bad it is. I'd eaten upstairs before, so me and a friend decided to try the different options downstairs. I got a slice of pizza and a cinnamon roll while she got a veggie dog. We still don't know what those toppings were on that veggie dog. The pizza tasted like they forgot to spice it. The cinnamon roll (how could this be bad?) tasted like pizza dough with icing on it. So... enjoy the browse, avoid the downstairs food, and enjoy your furniture assembly when you get home.

Yelp
Someone tell the main manager to structure the building better, hire employees that give accurate directions, and offer more payment options. I'm tired of wasting hours of my life lost when no one knows what they are talking about. I was told inaccurate directions, instructions, and basic info on numerous occasions.

Yelp
Great selection, excellent quality products. The only drawback really, is the crowds.

Yelp
It'll take you an hour or four to really investigate all the possibilities of IKEA. Worth the trip. But bring time and a big vehicle. So many things you'll discover and don't want to miss out on. This was not our first trip. We grabbed some ideas and a Ficus tree. Time will spent. We'll be back soon!

Yelp
Nope. Just no. This is my second time in an IKEA store, and I'm sorry I do not get it. The maze and claustrophobic layout of the showroom to then take us down to an even more confusing warehouse, but some of the things you can buy aren't in the warehouse but are back in the showroom...and then there's mediocre food randomly in case you get so lost and desperate that you must eat something? WTF!? If you can survive all that, you get to choose between attempting to assemble your purchase before finally giving up, or you can hire someone right away to come out and assemble it for you. Yep. IKEA offers that now because they know how notoriously ridiculous the assembly is on their products. But then people love this store so much. I do not understand it.

Yelp
Do NOT shop here. I went here on Sunday June 13th to buy some furniture for my new house. It's an hour away in heavy Charlotte traffic, so it's not a fun drive. They didn't have the dresser my oldest daughter wanted (MALM) in stock. They wouldn't let us order it but said it would be in the next day and we could order it online and just come back to pick it up. They wouldn't ship it or let us order it right then which is ridiculous, but whatever. I'm an OTR Truck Driver so I had to leave out Monday but I ordered it online and asked my wife to pick it up Tuesday June 15th when she got off work. She drove an hour to get there and waited an hour and a half only to be told that they couldn't give it to her. She's my WIFE! I was on the phone with her while they're telling her they wouldn't give it to anyone but me. All they had to do is verify my information. I offered to give them my name, address, email phone number and the credit card. My wife has THE SAME CREDIT CARD! So okay. I told my wife I would cancel the order and she can just go inside and buy it. I call the 888 number and cancel the order.while my wife goes inside to buy it. Then they tell her it's sold out! The rep I talked to on the phone said it doesn't go back into inventory right away. They have a "process" and that they couldn't sell my wife the dresser because it wasn't back in their inventory even though I just canceled my order. They had the dresser RIGHT THERE! It's like they have no ability to think. They're just automatons following a "process" and they have no common sense, or discernment. Are people really trying to scam IKEA out of a $109 dresser? This was a terrible experience and I know I'm not the only one they have done this to. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Yelp
We had a toilet leak and are now remodeling a bathroom and my office. Back on April 30, I got up and the carpet in front of the tub was slightly damp to the touch so first impression was that did not have the shower curtain properly positioned. By the time my wife got back from Pittsburgh, the carpet was totally saturated. Turned out the gasket fitting on the fill mechanism of the toilet had corroded to the point that it was falling apart. Start the insurance claim and contact contractors. Because it was my office, I've been off line for almost three weeks and posting have been from a tablet. Office is not done yet but moved the computer back in so I can start posting again. One of the places we went was IKEA looking for a bathroom vanity. They had some and at good prices but the quality was not there or at least not what we were looking for. Lot of good deals on smaller kitchen utensils but not for what we were looking for.

Yelp
Love IKEA usually, we shop here all the time...unfortunately this visit was severely tarnished by our checkout associate...Mahjabin. We came in so cited to look and price out our items for our new home. After having great fun throughout the store, enjoying a deliciously filling lunch in the cafeteria area then catching a GREAT FIND in the as-is section we were full of excitement to get some IKEA frozen yogurt...but as we were checking out we were greeted by the most horrible attitude from Mahjabin...she didn't seem she wanted to check us out at all...I noticed the same attitude with the family in front of us but ignored it in hope for a better experience after she scanned our items she made it seem as if we didn't have enough money....rushing us and rolling her eyes multiple times...HOW DISRESPECTFUL! This was so disappointing, even my daughter asked me if something was wrong with her...the outcome is we didn't get our ice cream treat...we just felt like she ruined the whole experience and I dont even want to plan our trip back this weekend for our larger furniture now... What a complete mood change....
