The Best Veggie Dogs, Ranked - Eater

"Ikea makes vegetarian hot dogs that came in second place. The hot dog is actually more like an old-school veggie patty, with kale, lentils, quinoa, onions, and wheat protein." - Dayna Evans

Only going to be talking about the food court. The food was great honestly, not too bad or cheap. The fries could’ve been seasoned better and the haddock is a bit greasy. The soda was decent but the lemon and lime soda had no flavour, making it just sparkling water with no taste. The meatballs were good though.

IKEA Coquitlam is a great place to visit with family and kids. It’s fun to walk around and get ideas for your home. I really love the dishes, candles, and the big variety of kitchen items. It’s a nice place to shop and enjoy time together! The furniture looks nice, but the quality doesn’t match the price.

My First Visit to IKEA Coquitlam – What an Experience! Although my first purchase from IKEA Coquitlam was online over two years ago, I finally visited the store in person and wow, I regret not going sooner! This place is absolutely massive and incredibly well-organized. Honestly, I blame myself for spending so much at Dollarama and similar stores over the years. At IKEA, you can get a surprising number of kitchen and bathroom essentials for under $5, and the quality is far better than expected. The aisles are wide and beautifully maintained, making it a pleasant shopping experience. The staff were super helpful and friendly too. If you’re visiting with kids, there’s even a supervised play area where you can drop them off for an hour such a thoughtful feature! And let’s talk about the food court: it’s super affordable (hot dogs starting at just $1.50!), and there’s even a sit-down restaurant area if you prefer something more relaxed. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn’t checked it out yet!

They did install a new tray return conveyer belt to help speed things up / less congested. There is also some newer menu items . And there is a new Thursday promo for members. So if you are planning for shopping. Might as well dine in on thursday to get the best of your buck.

I visited IKEA on a weekend morning and started with their affordable breakfast combo Unfortunately, the food didn't meet my expectations, especially the dry scrambled eggs. However, the customer service was fast and the environment was very clean.

I recommend the Coquitlam branch and it is my favorite. My experience is in a really large environment with a lot of variety here so it is always busy and there is a lovely snack bar in the middle of the furniture floor, next to the restaurant. My family and I have been there many times to buy furniture, beds and dining tables and desks. I am looking forward to my next visit to buy for my kitchen too.

IKEA Coquitlam offers a distinctive shopping experience that combines the classic IKEA atmosphere with a few local touches unique to the Coquitlam area. The store retains IKEA’s signature labyrinthine layout, but here it feels especially well-organized and spacious. Thoughtful signage and clearly marked sections make it easier for visitors to navigate the expansive showroom without feeling overwhelmed. At IKEA Coquitlam, the product selection spans everything from everyday essentials to standout statement pieces. The Scandinavian design ethos is evident throughout the store, offering a mix of affordable, modern furnishings and innovative storage solutions that cater to a variety of tastes. Staying true to IKEA’s DIY roots, many customers appreciate the challenge and satisfaction of assembling their purchases. For those who prefer a hassle-free experience, the store also offers reliable delivery and assembly services—adding convenience to your shopping journey. One of the highlights of IKEA Coquitlam is its in-store restaurant. It provides a welcome break during your visit, with the ever-popular Swedish meatballs and a variety of other snacks that offer a taste of Swedish cuisine. The restaurant serves as a cozy spot to recharge before continuing your exploration of the store. The Coquitlam location is well-laid-out with ample parking space, making it a convenient option for shoppers. Its accessibility and proximity to major transport routes make it easy to reach, even on busy days. IKEA Coquitlam successfully encapsulates the essence of the IKEA experience: innovative design, functional products, and a welcoming shopping environment. Whether you’re furnishing a new home or simply seeking inspiration, this location offers both the creativity and convenience that have made IKEA a household name.

We initially placed our kitchen order with the help of Jordan, but unfortunately, we later realized that a lot of the items included weren’t actually what we needed. Thankfully, Giovanna from the kitchen department stepped in and completely turned things around. She was incredibly insightful, patient, and genuinely cared about making sure we got everything right. She took the time to walk us through the correct components and helped us create an order that actually made sense for our space. Even though we had to make more than five trips back to IKEA to sort everything out, Giovanna’s professionalism and friendly attitude made the process far less frustrating. Huge thanks to her for helping us get things back on track, we really appreciate it!

Yelp
Came here with my daughter to do some furniture shopping. It was dinner time so I got us the 2 veggie dogs plus drink combo. The veggie dogs here are surprisingly good! I love that it's just veggies and not some plant based imitation of a meat hot dog. I don't need my food to look or taste like meat. I just need my food to taste good. So, I am always much happier with a veggie option that's made with vegetables and taste good rather than some kind of plant based processed food that's trying to imitate the look and taste of meat. I had the veggie dog here one other time with my husband. Surprisingly, while he's a meat eater, he's the one who introduced me to the veggie dog. We both agree that it tastes much better when you order it with all the toppings. It's just OK if you order it plain. With all the toppings though...much better. Such a great deal. At only $1 each? That's got to be the most affordable deal around, and it's vegetarian too! Possibly vegan? I havn't studied the list of ingredients but vegetarian/ vegan stuff in general are both on the more expensive side usually. This has got to be the most affordable vegetarian option around. I went back and ordered myself a second veggie dog after finishing the one from the combo meal! They sell these veggie dogs in their little market area. I think I should buy some to bring home and put in our freezer sometime!

Yelp
It's a ikea, I did find that some items like shelving units that were long since discontinued in the USA is still being sold here in canada. Obviously the food court had items that were not available yet in the US like samosa's, too bad because they need to take queue from tj's which sells alot of their frozen samosas. There are some differences but not too noticeably different from any ikea.

Yelp
IKEA has often been one of our go to's to find some wonderful things for our home, especially at times when we are moving to another place. It's always a maze in there but totally worth every trip we have made to ikea. Years ago, we always used to love going to ikea for their cinnamon buns - truly the best out there.

Yelp
My oh my. I had never been in an ikea before today and boy was I ever missing out on the essence of life. I got the kids meal Swedish meatballs because I wasn't super hungry and oh man was it orgasmic. They make that beautiful presentation right in front of you as well absolutely amazing and for just 5 dollars you cannot beat IKEA.

Yelp
Majority of this review will be based on the restaurant as that has the biggest room for growth given the companies lack of care for it and it's staff. on a Friday night during dinner time (600-730) the restaurant was PACKED. there was a line up to the stairs heading down to the market. We've been when it's been busy before (I mean when it isn't) but the problem seemed to be lack of staff. With that being said - the staff were very kind and courteous it just seemed severely under staffed (I appreciate there is a shortage so this is said lightly). The food was good and the poutine was delicious. They only had one cashier on and there were a couple people asking for a refund (me included) to which she told us that there wasn't one on duty and she was trying to get a hold of one. Aside from waiting - we went to grab a drink since we bought a glass - unfortunately the one drink dispenser that everyone was hounded around was broken/no syrup and only water was available. In my opinion this wasn't well maintained as there were many customers upset about it, and a lot of stand around staff not doing much to address this. So much to the point the one cashier had to go to the back to tell someone to add syrup. While we were told it would take a minute - in the half hour I was there nothing was done. I don't blame her because again she was the only one working the till, I blame management for their poor planning and staffing. The manager that finally did come upstairs to process 5 refunds looked like she was off shift and just in the neighbourhood as she came in regular clothes, in a rush, didn't address anyone and had her two kids with her. The store itself was clean and filled with lots of eager customers or window shoppers. There were some staff available but not necessarily readily available. With that being said, we had shopped on our own and didn't require help so assistance wasn't needed on our end - this was just a mere observation of those around us.

Yelp
Ikea is great when you are looking for something that is not too pricy but average good quality items. The only complain I have here is the layout. The way the store is laid out, they basically forces people to walk around the entire store. Parking is not bad at this location. It is less crazy compared to the Richmond location. I have a feeling that this Ikea is bigger than the Richmond location or maybe it just has much more better selections. I dropped by the pick up some plates and hot pads for my belated Canadian Thanksgiving dinner. Paid $0.99 per plate and the hot pad for 3 for $3.99. That is not bad. We will be shopping here again very soon.

Yelp
Another disappointing IKEA store. The restaurant is not good at all. My wife's lunch was burned. My haddock and chips were obviously frozen and not well prepared. The food at the other Vancouver IKEA is poor as well, so we'll avoid eating at the Vancouver IKEA stores from now on. The store is large and well laid out, but has no atmosphere. I feel like I'm shopping at Macy's or some other department store that I'm just not interested in being in. My experience of shopping in Portland IKEA was that it was fun, forward thinking, engaging, challenging. The Vancouver stores seem drab, plain, conservative. The food is bad, the people serving the food seem resentful and unfriendly. I know IKEA has great designers, and is capable of having engaging stores, so it must be local management. And I'm sorry it is this way, because the next closest store is Renton which is way too far away.

Yelp
Normally I go to IKEA Richmond but as the item was sold out at there, I came to Coquitlam. Glad I made. They had lots. But on showroom floor, they didn't display it. Therefore I straight to warehouse to pick up one in the box. I don't like to buy without seeing but I came here all the way and didn't want to go home with empty hands. It's like a gambling. Oh well but glad the product was exact what I imagined. What I noticed here to compare to Richmond one, there is a room for eating snacks after shopping. Very nice. Because in Richmond, as soon as you purchased food, you have to leave the building.

Yelp
I have visited twice within the last few months and I am disappointed with the cafe for snacks. Every time that I visit this location they have the vegan ice cream option on display but it is not available for order when I try to buy it. I don't understand why it it advertised when it is not available at this location time and time again. We also discovered that multiple items that were on display in their showcase pieces were not available for purchase. I would highly recommend you search online to see if there is the product you're looking for in store before you make the trip so that it makes it worth your time. We did grab some cinnamon buns and 2 were just over $3, which is a great deal. I highly recommend their vegan hotdogs as they're a great snack or light meal! Their food is always pretty good we just hope to see an improvement in the advertised items being in stock. And as of august 1st still no chicken meat balls, this is our 3rd try with none found as of yet.

Yelp
My experience was pleasant and easy. I was able to find what I was looking for and some... There were some staff around, but it was kind of hard to track them down. Lucky I didn't require any assistance. Value to price, I find IKEA's products to be fair. Obviously, the more you spend the better the materials used. I've been buying from IKEA for many years and I haven't had any major issues besides paint scratches. I've been able to enjoy my furniture for many years. This last visit I was happy that I got an extra 15% off for IKEA family. I also ended my visit with a hot dog, soft drink and a refreshing strawberry sundae. Thanks IKEA

Yelp
An over-sized maze! Ikea is a swedish company that sells more affordable. You have to assemble the furniture yourself and it can be confusing. Lunch at Ikea means waiting in line for 20 minutes, in my experience. Crazy huge, over sized store with a lot of parking underneith and beside. There is no in and out in this store. You must go the distance. Even if you spend an hour here, there is a good chance you will walk away with little more then a lamp. The housing accessories are cheap and simple. It is bustling with customers young and old every time I come. Busy Busy Busy

Yelp
Oh IKEA! You practical old thang!! Love everything about this place!! It gives me sooo many good ideas about how I picture my bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, etc. I mean I love designing my own space! This is so perfect for me! I love that they have every furniture available in the entire universe AND for better pricing than anywhere else. IKEA is great for practicality and idea-searching. I don't even mind putting the furniture together. I don't even consider myself a handywoman but assembling furniture with visuals can be fun. Just have coffee. Every single person who can speak any or all the languages in the face of the Earth won't require that skill to build a cabinet. Returns and exchange policy is amazing. It's ok to change your mind. It's ok if you bought the wrong colour. You can come back and receive a refund. Will come back again.

Joining the hordes of shoppers in the early morning. Cafeteria a pleasant surprise! Enjoying gravlax for breakfast. Have the new catalog-ready to shop!

Yelp
This review is specifically for the vegan burger sold at the IKEA Foodbox. I dropped by the Foodbox truck 10 mins before they closed, eager to try the vegan burger that I had heard so much about. I ordered it with cheese (not 100% sure if the cheese is vegan), and it was made very quickly. The patty itself wasn't that bad! Good flavour and texture but not as hot as I would've liked. It didn't taste like beef which I wasn't expecting anyway. The bun was straight up cold and the cheese wasn't fully melted because of the lack of heat. The veggies were super fresh and crispy though! I want to come back and try this burger again during a better time because I'm not sure if I just came at a bad time since they were about to close the truck up.

Yelp
Absolute classic! Can't EVER go wrong with the IKEA Swedish meatballs! Hot tip, if you like the meatballs as much as we do, make sure to grab some frozen ones downstairs!

Yelp
Well first, they had exactly what I was looking for. Thank you IKEA :) It's impressive to me, how the bug stores are stepping up their game to stay relevant. The cafeteria section of the store, opens 1/2 hour early and serves a value priced breakfast, within a very clean and modern setting. The bathroom was meticulously clean and offer dyson hand dryers. The store even has courtesy phones, lockers and diapers for customer use. Overall I don't feel as though IKEA is keeping up with the Jones, I think the Jones maybe trying to keep up with them.

Yelp
I am usually a HUGE Ikea fan, having shopped a lot at their stores in every city I've lived in (which is many!), and I particularly love their holiday wares, so I make it a point to visit at least once in late November or early December, to stock up on inexpensive and cute holiday decor, gifts, wrapping stuff and Unicef cards. I also love their cafeteria deals (LOVE their Swedish meatball meal!) and their foods-for-purchase. Since moving to Vancouver a few years ago, I've been to their Richmond store at least ten times (LOVE that store!). But last week there was a specific holiday item I needed, and I verified online AND by calling Ikea's centralized number (for their customer support), and found out that this item was not available at the Richmond store, but the rep on the phone and online verified that this item WAS at this Coquitlam store. So despite it being FAR away from me, and despite the fact that I've never been there and had NO idea how to get there, and despite the fact that it was pouring rain out, I decided, what the hell, I'm adventurous, right? So, much like the Pioneer Woman, I forged ahead, jazzed for my adventure, excited to get the prize (the object of my quest)!. What a disaster. I won't comment on the "lovely" commute on the "lovely" Vancouver highways in the "lovely" weather, surrounded by all the "lovely" passive-aggressive drivers. No, it's no Ikea's fault that the drive there was a horror show. But I WILL ding Ikea on all the dismal factors that WERE its fault: -their system is such that you can't call any one store directly. You need to call a central number (1-866). The wait on hold for me was 27 minutes. The rep was super nice and she even checked the availability of my item at Richmond, before telling me it was available at Coquitlam, and she even told me the specific item number and the aisle and bin number, where to find it. She was very helpful. -their system is such, when you look up various items online and check their availability in the store in question, they won't let you purchase the item online and hold it for you. (For some larger items, you can do just this, as with their furniture. But for smaller items, there's no way to buy them online or have the store hold them for you). -when I got to the store I immediately made my way to the aisle and "bin" where my item was. And I couldn't find it. I walked up and down the area repeatedly, to no avail. I found an employee who wandered the area too and then checked on a computer and double checked with his supervisor on his walkie-talkie: the item was NOT IN STOCK. It was sold out. WTH? I had spoken to the rep on the phone AND checked availability at this very store online less than one hour earlier. It's a flawed system, that this could happen. -I might add that the layout of the parking lot must have been designed by someone who never drove a car in his/her life. SO BAD. I can't comment on this particular store's various departments, café or other features; I was so wrought out and disappointed after my "adventure" here, I left without buying one thing. A first for me, at any Ikea. (At least I had visited the Richmond store two weeks earlier and got a ton of things). So much for my Pioneer Women days. From here on in, I'll stick to the tried and true.

Yelp
I really miss the 50 cent priced hotdogs which now costs 75 cents. The $1 ice cream cones seemed smaller than what they used to be as well. However, I do like the fact they offer a swirl cone which McDonald's has long discontinued. These cheap items used to be my favourites during my poor student days. I rarely get the hotdogs now but I do still occasionally get a cone and try some of the other items. The seating/standing section is usually a mess. Staff should do more frequent rounds to wipe down the tables and clean up the condiment station.

Yelp
For furniture, come on ahead, there have tons, and tons of furniture, and other items you may be looking for, like cutlery, plants, paintings, and food, yes, I am here to write about the restaurant upstairs. If your looking for a cheap solution to your breakfast, lunch or dinner, and you have to go out, and maybe you have one of these around your corner, come in, and you will be surprised at the selection of dishes they have for very affordable prices. The restaurant area is set up like a cafeteria, you pick your food, get your food on a trey, pay the cashier, find your seat, and eat. On a sign, it reads, they keep there low prices as you clean up your own mess at where you sit. So after your done, please put your tray in the rollers provided. On this day I had the pasta special, which was vegetarian tomato sauce, and noodles for $1.99, and I added meatballs to it, which was $1.49, and also a piece of garlic bread $0.49. It was filling, and I was stuffed. They have other specials too, like $1 breakfast, and many kids meals, too much to name, but definately worth the eat. If you go to the downstairs market area, they also have 50 cent hotdogs, they aren't big, but at that price, it really doesn't matter.

Yelp
You know Vancouver is awesome when they build not 1, but 2 Ikeas here. Parking is plentiful. I really like the "parking lot directly under the building" approach, which reminds me of the Superstore in Richmond. Their products are designed with practicality in mind, and it really shows. I like how you can buy a $30 lamp here instead of a $100 lamp elsewhere, for example. They are moving into everything from light fixtures to kitchenware to prepackaged food. Almost anything from your home can be found here. Of course, the best part is the cafeteria with the hot dogs. Yes I'm still choked at the fact their hot dogs now cost 75c instead of 50c (damn you, inflation!), but the $1 frozen yogurt cones help dry my tears a little bit. I make it a habit to waste a little cash here every time I'm over. One last thing: be sure to swing by the "As Is" (aka Clearance/damaged goods) section which is near the checkout area. They'll be selling things such as leather sofas with a small nick (on the back where you can't even see) for 30% off, for example. Many good deals to be had if you want to save even more. Hopefully the people of Coquitlam don't feel so left out anymore after so many years of having to drive to Richmond. Oh wait, Richmond now has an even newer store, oh snap.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's be honest. You don't go to IKEA for their build-it-yourself furniture. You go to drop off your kid(s) for some free babysitting while you indulge in their cheap food. Coquitlam IKEA's cafeteria had a 10 minute lineup on a Wednesday noontime. I tried the organic/free range chicken Caesar salad and an "ethically raised" salmon wrap. Also ordered their fish (haddock) and chips and a slice of caramel cake. The chicken was very moist, tender and tasty which was unexpected as it appears as if it was prepared hours earlier. The salmon wrap, on the other hand, was all soggy and limp as the wrap had absorbed all the moisture from the fillings. The salmon tasted rather bland too. The fish and chips were horrible. I'm used to either cod or halibut at the local fish and chip establishments. The haddock was flavorless and texture-less. The breading was thin, and soft rather than thick and crunchy. Fries were cold by the time I paid and got a table. The cake was okay, but did not make up for an otherwise weak dining experience.

Yelp
In IKEA 10 years ago we bought GODMORGON cabinet with LED cabinet light. The lamp, Article Number 704.308.36, has a built-in LED light source. Unfortunately, our light source stopped working after 10 years. In Product details, we can read that "The light source has a lifetime of approx. 25,000 hours. This corresponds to about 20 years ..." We called the Customs Service but we didn't get any help, since we no longer have a purchase confirmation. 1. How to replace the broken light source for GODMORGON cabinet? 2. Which warranty is correct? 10 Years in-store warranty (on your website) or 20 years in the Product details description (on the same site)?

Yelp
What can I say about Ikea that hasn't already been said? Acres and acres of parking (and yet never an open spot), multiple levels of furniture, home decor, baubles, trinkets, doo-dads, and other assorted essentials you didn't know you needed, and of course a huge restaurant featuring impossibly delicious Swedish meatballs. Yes, Ikea has it all. And this location is a huge one - I'm always exhausted and in need of a nap when I get to the end. If they sold groceries you would never need to shop anywhere else.

Yelp
I've been an Ikea customer for a while now and I have to say that a lot of the older furniture and decoration I have in my place is still holding on well thats why I was a loyal customer for years but not anymore. I recently when to Ikea to buy some dishes to replace my older Ikea set, the only reason I decided to get new ones is because couple of the plates from the old set broke. I went and got the closest set to the one I had for many years and I have to say I'm really disappointed at Ikea's current quality... all the new set I bought It is now full of grey marks everywhere it looks way older than the previous one what a waste of time and money note: both sets are made in China (see attached photos) left old, right "new"

Yelp
I won't lie, I'm a big fan of IKEA. I always start off each visit with a stop at the restaurant for meatballs, soup (sometimes) and lingonberry drink. There's nothing to knock about their food, you get a decent amount for a low price. And there's always plenty of seating so even when it's at its busiest, you will be able to get a seat at a table to enjoy your meal. Now on my most recent trip to this location, I did notice that they were in the middle of renovations/changing things and so it was a little bit of a mess getting around the showroom. But being such a fan of the store, I'm used to this. Just wish that things were a bit more marked cause I did get slightly confused as to which way I had to go and I know a few others did as well.

Yelp
I was scammed by Modus Enterprises. IKEA has a service through Modus Enterprises where you pay $250 for a 4 hour in home kitchen consultation. If you end up ordering your kitchen from ikea you get this amount credited towards your kitchen. I set up an appointment. She arrived on time but couldn't figure out her software. She was onsite for an hour. I had to sign that I was happy with her service which was also ridiculous because I didn't receive anything yet. A few days later I get a poor design and an invoice asking for more money. I had to involve the manager to get her to finish the design and quote. It was such a hassle. I felt held hostage as I wanted the ikea quote. I ended up going with a Merit kitchen and just wrote off the $300 I spent for a crappy service from Modus. Stay away from Modus. I was seriously considering an ikea kitchen but the whole negative experience with Modus just turned me off. Thanks Jonathan

Yelp
I made a purchase over $1000 at Ikea and paid to have it delivered. The delivery company came the next day to drop off the items at my home. AND DAMAGED MY BASE BOARDS. A whole chunk of the corner has fallen off. Did I mention I just moved in a couple of weeks prior, and this is a BRAND NEW space? Did I also mention that I made my purchase on July 27th, 2013? Yes, that's a whole month ago. So what have I been doing for the last month? Well first, I contacted Ikea and was advised that they'd file a claim for me, and also advised I called the company they use for deliveries - Dynamex to let them know. "They should get back to you within a few days - they'll send a contractor out to take a look and then fix the damage." Okay, great. One week passes. I call Dynamex again. No one. I call Ikea. "Oh I can't help you. Because this is a different company, you'll have to contact them. They are they only ones that can fix this." I get it. I work in the retail industry. I get it. I do. So I contacted them. Again. Nothing. So I contact Ikea again. "I'm so sorry. I'll try to contact them for you. Oh, I've only gotten to voice mail. I left a voice mail for you. Let me try another number I have. Oh voicemail. I left another one. They should call you back soon." And Dynamex should right? How many messages do they have now about the same situation? 5? 10? 15? Within this past month, I have contacted BOTH companies repeatedly. At this point, I'm pissed. Ikea just keeps leaving me voice messages telling me they can't help me. I have to contact the delivery company. I GET THAT. BUT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIVE! And if Ikea can't get in touch with them, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO? Really, you can't escalate this to management? No one knows how to contact them? You don't have an account rep or anything? That's great - sounds like an awesome partnership! Dynamex has completely ruined my experience with Ikea, and Ikea obviously doesn't care. By the way, when you call Dynamex with the number Ikea provides you, you get the voice message "thank you for contacting the Ikea delivery department!" And Ikea's telling me that they are a completely separate company? They have absolutely no responsibility or connection to them? Last time I checked (which I may remind you was a month ago), Ikea is paying them to represent their company and carry out their delivery service and customer service experience. I didn't spend over a thousand dollars with you in one week and pay for delivery (did I mention, I also made various other big purchases recently?) for the crappy company you out-sourced your deliveries to come and damage my home. I've just moved into a new home. BRAND NEW HOME. Thank you for the first damage done to my place. Is it just me, or is this completely ridiculous and unacceptable?? I HAVE BEEN SOOOO PATIENT. Until now. :)

Yelp
The IKEA bistro is a comfort place to go for a quick bite while shopping at IKEA. Their Swedish meatballs are rather nice. Plenty of seating available.

Yelp
Today my review has nothing to do with customer or quality of goods. It's about hotdogs. Yes, hotdogs. I just want to say I am well aware that the hot dogs at IKEA are only 75 cents. Regardless of the price you do not stick hot wieners into cold buns. I mean took them right out of the bag cold. I enquired if they could heat the buns, they said no. I noticed they have a steaming trays they put the buns but it does not appear to get them warm or keep warm. In the world of low budget hotdogs, IKEA is the worst. From here on in I'll stick with Costco for my low budget hot dog needs. At least they know how to warm up a bun. Don't waste your money!!

Yelp
Solid 3.5, I prefer this to Richmond because of the sheer size and spaciousness. No bumping into other shoppers. And the food section much better too, nicer seats. Parking is well lit too.

Yelp
There's something about going to Ikea and getting a $1 cone and perusing the store while eating it. The prices are very good, but be sure that you're handy with tools and reading "how to" instructions. If you're good with that, then this is the right place for you! I love the look of Ikea furniture. It's simple. To me simple is elegance. HUGE parking lot. most of it is under cover, so rain or shine, you're good to go.

Yelp
Inflation must be happening even with Ikea. The $1 beakfast is gone. It is now $2......booooo. This is my second breakfast at Ikea. Anyhooooo, I was in this store to buy a specific toy for my daughter because it was not available at the Richmond location, so breakfast it was. I gotta be honest, for $2, you cannot expect much. Cold powdered scrambled eggs, hash browns that were tasteless, and mystery meat that was likely sodium infused fat and bread crumb filler that pretended to be sausage. The meal was on the ummmmmmm...... meh side. However, for $2, I cannot complain and act like I didn't know what was coming. I got what I expected. That said, I could have spent $0.95 + tip more, and went to Bon's! Surprisingly, the coffee was decent. I even went and bought a bag. We'll see how it turns out when I make it at home. I think everyone must experience an Ikea dining experience at least once in their lifetime.

Yelp
This is for the restaurant only. Veggie balls. My one word summary? DRY. OK, 3 words: drier than sawdust. Yeah the meal was cheap and that's why we come to Ikea isn't it? $16 for 2 people with dessert and drink. I just used to envy the people who loved the meatballs. Being vegetarian I could never have so was kinda excited to see on the menu the veggie ones. Simply too dry...and the sauce (called "cajun") tasted like slightly spicy and salty as hell ketchup. Cookie was chewy and delicious tho! Next time I'm getting 2.

Yelp
I can almost always find what I need at Ikea. This past weekend, we needed a shoe cabinet that was modern, takes up as little space as possible and of course cost efficient. Thank you Ikea! As for their cafeteria, they have a pretty good range of things to fill your belly. $1.99 breakfast, 10 piece Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes for $4.99 and etc. I wouldn't recommend coming here for the first date and expect to impress, but if you're in long term relationship and need to save money... sure, why not?! Hey, don't knock it till you've tried it!

Yelp
Meat ball dinner+unlimited coffee+cheese broccoli soup=satisfied stomach. I took a walk in Ikea after my dinner here. Love the atmosphere, spacious dinning area, delicious food!

Yelp
When I was a teenager and got a hold of my first Ikea catalogue, I spent a whole night planning the furnishing in my grown-up apartment. Since then, I've been going to Ikeas all over Canada even when I graduated to buying my furniture in more "grown-up" furniture stores. The Coquitlam Ikea is close to my home and has a nice covered parking lot for those often rainy days. I just wish the check-out had direct access to the parking similar to the Etobicoke Ikea in Ontario. Ikea still has a good selection of furniture and some of them are actually made with hardwood. Nowadays, I head directly to the Marketplace downstairs as they have a great selection of housewares (very important to me who just moved across the country.) Beyond the check-out is their Grocery area where frozen meatballs, fish, Lingonberry, Glog, ginger snaps (the best!) and Daim chocolates are sold. The cafeteria is my favorite part of Ikea because it offers some decent fare and oftentimes for minimal price. My favorite is the Swedish Meatballs eaten in their dining room above the parking lot overlooking Hwy 1. I can see people just come to Ikea to have coffee because it's peaceful. The cafeteria folks just need to be quicker in cleaning-up the general eating area.

Yelp
I am so impressed! Despite Covid 19, they seem to have a well oiled machine running there. I was able to find all I needed. Had to do an exchange before my delivery. Really helpful staff made it so easy

Alireza A.

Yelp
The click and collect staff are rude and unhelpful! The return & exchange line up is 1 hr long and IKEA doesn't care about any of this. Don't waste your time and money.

Yelp
Super busy today but that's to be expected as back to school is this week. I had to buy my son a bed frame. Staff is really trying to keep everyone social distanced. Not their fault that people refuse to go in one direction or back track. Restaurant closed totally understandable.

Yelp
I sure hope IKEA reads these because trying to get in touch with their customer service is an almost impossible task. And how do they not have an e-mail address on their website? What kind of mickey mouse operation are they running? If I could leave less than one star I would. My issue is with their delivery service; they cannot seem to deliver an order AT ALL. Trying to get through to someone is even worse than that. I ordered a couple of products two weeks ago to be delivered last Sunday. I waited and waited and finally got an e-mail saying delivery had failed. No phone call. I contacted the customer service number and after being on hold for 20 mins or so finally got to speak to someone. Apparently my phone number was wrong. We got that corrected and re-scheduled for Tuesday morning delivery, for which I took the morning off from work to be at home to accept the delivery. Once again, the delivery window comes and goes without no delivery and no phone call. I check the "Track My Orders" page and it is listed as having been delivered on Sunday! It takes me almost an hour to get through to someone again, and finally the person I got through to is able to supposedly sort things out (after another hour of explaining the situation and her calling around to make the arrangements). We arrange for another re-delivery for Saturday. Guess what? Delivery window comes and goes and AGAIN no delivery, no phone call, no e-mail. And of course when I try to call, they are closed, so now I have to wait until tomorrow to try to get a hold of someone and find out what happened this time and then probably arrange for YET ANOTHER delivery time which they will probably screw up AGAIN.

Yelp
A+ for Design Model and Concept. Ya know, I thought IKEA was the coolest as a kid, and in more recent years avoided it at all costs because it seemed like every furniture-piece I saw in friends/fam homes was from IKEA! I haven't been back for about 3 years until most recently. So, my thoughts now: total appreciation for the creative concept and design process. Crafted for the optimal consumer experience, IKEA's layout walks consumers through a methodical process from showcase to warehouse checkout while selling experience and interaction. Plus, it's designed to be enjoyable for all ages and offers good stylish pieces at a remarkably low prices. Lol, you probs already know this, but just bringin' it to light! Plus their infamous $1 breakfast ... who knew a buck could go so far?! I didn't realize it before, but it's model is truly brilliant. Can't speak for the furniture quality though as I don't have any big pieces from here. Also, not sure how their behind-the-scenes global operations, manufacturing and production side of things work, but if it's been well-thought out like they've done for the consumer end, totally understandable how they are one of the leading design companies of the world.

Yelp
I've always had great experiences shopping here. There's something for everyone and they have good value products. I also love good food in their cafe. If I'm craving snacks then they have enough fast food there to fulfill that. Best of all, free coffee refills.

Yelp
FUN FUN FUN! Who does like IKEA? Large parking lot and used to be crazy full and busy but due to Covid it's alright, Mondays are the best (not much people, not crowded, and no lines). Friday's and weekends are the worst as expected. They are not the best quality and some are not extremely durable but most works fine and still gives you a lot of options in a budget. If people complain about IKEA being expensive (a little at times), then you haven't seen other furniture stores. Some of their materials and colours are a bit tacky or harsh but in general they do fine. A couple colour and designs that quite surprised me. I was impressed. Their mattress and sheet covers are usually something I don't necessarily recommend though. Sure if you are tight on money yes, but if you want to invest a bit better long term or have a bad back, their mattress is not a good choice, period. Their sheets and pillow covers are fine but be picky. Their comforter covers are mostly pretty ugly (the solid colours are acceptable I guess). It's quite hard finding a staff there at times though. Food there is meh except for their meatballs. Washroom are generally clean and things are usually organized.

Yelp
Who doesn't love IKEA? This is an easy location to get to right off the highway. On a Friday morning, it was quite busy. As a recovering organizing containers hoarder, this is a 'bad' place for me, there are so many different ways to get organize for your home. I am so please that I did not buy any new containers to take home. Follow the arrows if you want to wander around, if you already know what you want, just cut to the downstairs warehouse and grab it. The cafeteria is great, lots of choices for vegetarians or meat eaters. Prices are insanely cheap. If you want to take them away, you have to bring in your own take out boxes as they do not have anything for you to pack the food home.

Yelp
I always love going to ikea. It always seems like they are continuously trying to improve the layout of the store. It is always brightly lit and there is always so much to see and do. The price of the food at the food court has gone up though, which is a little disappointing as the quality and quantity has decreased a little, but I'm glad that the ice cream and the hotdogs downstairs is still the same. The store is great and it's always a fun time coming to ikea.

Yelp
My wife and I bought a $1600 wardrobe at the Coquitlam IKEA. The product itself looked great and it was exactly what we were looking for. We picked up all of the pieces and payed for it at checkout... and this is where all of our excitement ended. We were overcharged by the cashier, who apparently double scanned an item on our cart. We then spent the next 15 minutes attempting to locate the mistake with the help of an employee. Once that was corrected, we walked over to the delivery service counter and provided our cart and receipt. That employee then determined that there was an item on our cart that wasn't scanned correctly. So again, we spent the next 30 minutes trying to find the mis-scanned item. In all, we wasted 45 minutes watching IKEA employees count, recount, and count again and again all of our 40+ items. There has to be a better way than to inconvenience the customer with incorrect scanning and repetitive counting. As frustrating as that was, the worst was yet to come. The delivery date was set. We were told that the delivery company (XPO logistics) would contact us with a delivery window on the day of delivery. They did not. Two XPO employees arrived at my house, walked around with wet and muddy shoes, delivered boxes that were soaking wet (pictures attached). I opened a few of the boxes and noticed that the water had soaked into the product and had warped sections of the fibreboard. When I informed the driver, he told us that we needed to take it up with IKEA if we weren't satisfied. So I took it up with IKEA. I explained the situation and the IKEA employee (unfortunately I can't remember her name, but she was awesome! She understood my frustration and was apologetic for the service we received) provided us with a complete product exchange, a delivery refund and offered us free assembly - which we accepted. However, once XPO logistics arrived to take away the water damaged product and assemble the wardrobe, more frustration ensued. The driver argued with me about taking opened product away (I opened the boxes to examine the product for water damage - which there was plenty of). The driver then informed me that he would not be assembling the wardrobe until I removed the crown moulding because he needed an extra 1.5 inches to account for levelling - which made absolutely no sense because the highest part of the wardrobe was 1.5cm lower than the crown moulding. The driver became argumentative, rude and disrespectful. So once again, I contacted IKEA to complain about this horrendous service. Their representative on the phone apologized and rescheduled a new crew from XPO to arrive two days later to install the wardrobe as promised. So again, I needed to spend a day waiting for installation. Thankfully, the second install crew was polite and respectful. They measured the space and immediately confirmed that the wardrobe would fit without any issues. They completed the assembly with great customer service. If XPO cannot provide consistently good service, then IKEA should not use them for their delivery/install provider. The way that they treat customers reflects directly on IKEA. One good experience out of three encounters with XPO employees is definitely not good enough. All in all, we wasted 3 days waiting for a product that should have been delivered correctly in one day. After this experience, I will not be purchasing anything from IKEA that will not fit in my car on the day of purchase.

Yelp
IKEA is so stuck up that they are not even taking their products without receipt. Such a bad service and strict return policy that is unworthy and unparalleled to others in 2016. Always keep your receipt with them otherwise you'll not be able to return most likely.
